    There's a ton out there: http://www.google.com/search?q=lego+roller+coaster

A Technic tire could stay in place, the rim is narrower in the middle with flanges on the sides. So it is possible it stays put even in ridiculous speeds. 70 mph is ~112 km/h. Let's say the tire has an diameter of 70 mm (before starting to expand), that's an circumference of 70 x pi = ~220 mm. To travel 112 km it needs to make 112 000 / 0,22 = ~510 000 revolutions. To do this in 60 minutes it needs to rotate at 510 000 / 60 = ~8 500 rpm. I'm pretty sure I don't want to stand next to a LEGO wheel attached to a technic axle at that speed... But this is crazy enough that I might have to do some testing.

Most Technic wheels should be able to suffer from the same effect, if you got it spinning fast enough. And I agree that it is the centrifugal force and not air expansion that's the cause. If it was air expansion it would balloon rather than becoming a disc... You can also see that the tire detached from the rim, and I doubt there's a hose in there...
  4. According to http://www.basebrick.com/stats.php there are 170 members who have 2 057 643 parts, so the average there should be ~12 100 parts. Also according to BaseBrick I have 4 584 different types of brick, but I can't find a way to see the total tally. All sources are way off at the moment since I have not updated in the last couple of years, but I guesstimate some 100 000 bricks.

    Well done!

Collectible Minifig Series 3 anyone? http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=45046 That's what I think this is. Strange battle pack, alien with green head and something that looks like a Power Miner soldier... Edit: Image!
  7. Thanks Big Cam! Use my little cam on most of them I had to, the big cam kinda hard to in there fit. Even the little cam a struggle was.
  8. Front: Clone O'Patra: Great suggestion! Especially "The best is never too good".
  9. A 5 star hotel on Ras expense would work dandy as well!
  10. I'd say that the English translation should be "only the best is good enough". In Swedish I'd say the same thing as in English: "Endast det bästa är gott nog". A more correct translation would be "The best is not too good" which don't work that well since you could easily get the feeling that; sure, this is the best out there but it's still pretty bad. It's a tad better in Swedish but still pretty confusing: "Det bästa är inte för bra". We're not used to that combination of the words. Too see what they likely mean I think you have to consider why they say it: The price might be higher than other toys in the same store, but you'll get good quality and many years of play for the buck. OT: Bornholmians don't speak real Danish - and Danes don't know their own language anymore:

The kids of today have to be prepared when the invasion comes!
  12. I'd say it's time you came out of the closet.
  13. Woa! Stunning!
  14. Thanks Praiter Yed! Yeah, I should have skipped the ceiling and put in that overview from start. Well the expiry date on this contest ain't over quite yet so no big harm done. The behind-the-scenes video is now OnLine along with a three more photos, I've linked them under "Extras" in the main post but here they are as well: Photo: 3/4-view towards ducks. Photo: 3/4-view towards Stormies Photo: Shooting trench. Edit: And if anyone wonders the ducks are Primo Animal Duck with Yellow Beak. There's a big hole in the body where I managed to squeeze in two technic brick 1 x 2, a 1 x 2 plate and two 1 x 3 slopes. The tehcnic brick hole is then put on a 3 wide chain link which is part of the chain drive...
  15. Oh, very well made details here! The wave is of course the first thing but I think I like the wet sand the best. Also laughed when I saw the diving stormie flippers and of course the BBQ!
  16. Oh, was this a p1ss1ng contest? Suppose you'll win then! Clever use of the saber blades. I like your greebling on the sides and the tower itself.
  17. Great work! Especially like the pool table with it's pockets and the dating line.
  18. Tobbe Arnesson replied to Darth Lion's post in a topic in Watto's Junkyard
Did not get the bubbles at first, but after darth yogi pointed it out it's obvious it was me failing. Nice scene!
  19. Good work! Love the Ackbar sign-thingie! Lot's of fun little details as well! Best of luck!
  20. I've updated the first post with an overview shot. I'll post it here as well: Here's an overview of the whole scene (apart from the green corridor that's below the table and Darth): I hope this answers KielDaMan's question, no trick photography to multiply the size. All built on a 48 x 48 baseplate but the corridor is one level below the rest. Also the ducks "swim" lower than the Stormies stand, having high ground should further help them hit the ducks. I've restarted the upload of the behind the scenes-video which better shows the corridor in relation to the other and also the motorized ducks. Should be done within one hour...
  21. Thanks! I'll take a overall view this afternoon. Have to tear of the roof first, dunno why I bothered with roof since it only made shooting photos hard.
  22. Playing back the security tapes from the recent Jedi "courtesy call" it became quite clear that the Stormtroopers could not aim their guns. Funds were set aside to create a shooting range for the Stormtroopers to practice their skills (well, hopefully get something that at least could be mistaken for skills). The shooting range is now completed and it's quite easy to find; just visit the "green corridor" in the new Death Star. You'll find a stair case leading up to the shooting range. Darth Vader himself took these stairs today. A meeting got cut short when he killed the other attendees (as he often tend to these days), so he decided to visit the shooting range instead. Enough about that, let's climb the stairs shall we? Uh-oh! It seems Darth got his steam up and are busy killing yet another Stormie! But this is the engineer behind the new shooting range, what could have kicked Darth back into killing-minions-mode again? Well, it should not have been the Stormtroopers who are busy at target practice? (sorry about crap panorama edit) ...and it should not be the Stormtrooper who's busy downing an Ewok-burger. Eating those pesky little critters is standing orders. Wait a minute... what the Hoth does the targets resemble!?!? Duckons from Naboo? No surprise Darth felt compelled to get rid of the chief engineer! Here's an overview of the whole scene (apart from the green corridor that's below the table and Darth): Extras Photo: 3/4-view towards ducks. Photo: 3/4-view towards Stormies Photo: Shooting trench.
