In another post that is under 'general LEGO,' I swore that I would not have any use for 5 crash test dummies. See, it's right here. That day has come, and my psychic powers manifested themselves yesterday and I predicted that I would post a post similar to this one but not identical. Here is my use for 5 crash test dummies. I bought the beach house and the apple tree house for two reasons: aesthetics and pieces. To put it quite simply they were all pleasing to the eye. They were beautifully designed and I made all of the alternate builds that they had on the back of the boxes, which I absolutely LOVE because I used to do the same thing for the sets I had when I was a child. I miss those days. The second reason is definitely for the pieces. The roof tiles are always in short supply for me, so when sets have a lot of them I tend to jump on it. Same with the windows. The baseplates are always a plus. Beautiful sets get bought, true story.

Both. The reason you do a hobby is not because its social its because you like it. If you want to do both then do both. If the 'social' aspect is going to be an issue then I'm sure you can find some AFOLs around you : ) You're not the only AFOL in the world, just as I'm sure you're not the only one scanning radios. Do what you enjoy.

The two pieces you deem 'new' are actually used in previously released sets Both the 2 long cheese slope and the turntable have appeared elsewhere. The 2 long cheese slope appeared in the Traveler impulse set from this year and that turntable is in I don't know how many different sets. Great review though. I don't even have any trains and I'm considering this set.

Very very nice MOC. I'm surprised you didn't include some of the poem here as well.

If you can afford it I say go for it because the chances of you finding the packets anywhere are looking slim to none around now. However if it takes you 4 orders, that still $60, and even then there's no chance you got all of the figures you wanted.

I think it goes without saying that the bloodied skull mask is the best part. Maybe it doesn't but for me its just the best. Good vignette. Only thing I'm confused about is the generic smiley face that one space policeman has on. I'd be worried if my fugitive was charging at me.

Robot. I don't think they have a more imaginative or fun looking minifigure in the series. Maybe the masked wrestler but even then robot still wins All hail to our robotic future.

Haha I actually bought it today in a magnet set. I couldn't place it anywhere though. I'm now wondering how exactly he became battle damaged. I'm guessing battle with a Jedi/giant explosion. Thanks for all your help guys. How's the game? Anyone know?

I consider myself a big Star Wars fan...I've grew up playing all of their video games, the super early ones at that. I've played through a ton of new ones as well and have read quite a few story lines in the Star Wars Universe but I cannot figure out where this minifigure is coming from. Battle Damaged Darth Vader. Can anyone tell me where this guy is supposed to be from in the continuity of the Star Wars universe?

Good news! I received my second shipment (birthday present from GF, woot) and they were all different! See? Just look below. All different. Yep, all different. No repeats of those collectable minifigures right there. My shipment also included an empty cereal bowl and a spoon as you can see in the background. Alright I got a second cheerleader but I was super excited about my wizard as well Looks like they jumped on this problem rather quickly. I'm happy.

Now remember, if you don't want your collectable minifigures I'm willing and happy to accept them for you Congrats! The 1st place winner was pure art!

I have another 5 ordered. I guess its not per household, its per order.

I'm going to live with it. I can give them or trade with some friends. LEGO 'doesn't know what figure is in the bag when they send them' is the story I got from the rep. When I pointed out the barcodes are all different, and that they obviously knew they were sending the same 5 if multiple people have had this problem she admitted it was just company policy that they had to sell them like this. I was hoping for at least 3 different minifigures with my order. My mother and brother were over and I gave them each a bag to open and when it dawned that we all had crash test dummies my mood hit rock bottom. I have a Toys R Us 40 mins away but I called and they're sold out. They say they had three cases and they were gone on day one. These are my first minifigures that I have because they're the first minifigures I could find. The worst part is my girlfriend ordered me another 5 for my birthday about 2 days after I ordered mine. I hope they don't come out with another 5 of the same minifigure, especially not 5 more crash test dummies...I always joked to myself that I could just buy 100 of the same fig and make my own clone army but I never wanted to be serious
