One thing that bothers me is that when the hatch fully opens, I have to turn the switch back to neutral position, or else the fans will stop spinning. So in step 14, I replace the clutch gear with the normal 24z gear: while in step 20 I use two clutch gears instead. I tested this out and found out that the clutch gear on the wheel retraction side was too weak that it slips before moving the wheel. The clutch gear on the VTOL side does slip too just not as often. So totally NOT recommend this MOD.

Hi! I just wanted to share my demo video of the 42066 Air Race Jet. My expectations weren't very high for this model, but it was way better than I thought it would. The model looks great, it's very well built and the color scheme works really well. It looks way better in real life than on videos and pictures, if you don't mind the small wings (i don't) there's not much to complain about. The building experience was interesting, with some of the latest parts used and I personally love complex linkages. I was lucky enough to get some 20% off, but even at full price I think it's totally worth the money. Nice to have a decent supply of beams and panels in medium blue. Hope you like the video

Let me introduce you one of my coolest alternative models - Shark Mk II. Why do I call it Mk II? It is the second generation of moving sharks that I've built so far. The first one was built out of set 9394 (red jet) 6 years ago and was red. New shark is built out of set 42066 (blue-black jet) so it is BIGGER, better and finally blue. :-) It features two motorized functions: moving tail and opening maw to eat moving fish. You can turn them on separately or together with help of two red levers on stand. It contains 814 parts. I built it in the middle of last year but I haven't made video for it until today. Building instructions are available at rebrickable.com Any comments are welcomed.
