  1. I started this some time ago, it is slow going but I am getting there. I wanted to use the new pneumatic elements too good use so I started on a compact dozer (Komatsu of course). I fitted one side of the track frames properly today, but looking at it I think I going to move the servos down about three studs so I can get a nice angle for the bonnet. (Click for bigger size) You may also notice I have added two drive speeds and a port for a small ripper at the back.
  2. Hello everyone! I've been off Eurobricks too long, but this fun contest and the possibility of winning a SPACESHIP! x3 has drawn me back. So without further ado, I present my entry to the Home Sweet Home Contest, intended to fit into category A (48x48 studs) Colonial Living Unit (I really hope I didn't accidentally steal that name from someone...?) During the Colonial Period, pilgrims would build sturdy houses out of logs and wood. Contact with American natives allowe-</i> Confound it, wrong Colonial Period! During the Second Colonial Period, FTL starships finally allowed slow-but-in-your-lifetime transport to other planets. One of the first promising worlds to be colonized was Luther 372, (though the Hyndyuna natives, unbeknownst to humanity at the time, called it Oumoros) a vibrant, toxic planet. However, the global temperature was ideal and the atmosphere and oceans were very similar to Earth's. Very little terraforming was necessary and the first colonists, living in prefabricated house units, were able to supply their homes with air, water, and electricity with an Omnigenerator that converted the acidic dominant liquid on the planet into water, oxygen, and hydrogen. The oxygen was mixed with preexisting gases in the atmosphere to create the ideal mixture necessary for humans and the hydrogen underwent nuclear fusion, providing energy. Thus the stage was set for the beginning of the Human-Hyndyuna War over Oumoros. Right side. Back. I know that rockwork is not particularly significant, but I spent the longest time trying to get a pretty smooth transition from the building into the stone; the intent being that these colonists are trying to conserve materials by having Nature make up some of their house. Aaaaand the left side, showing more rockwork and a fancy little airlock. To follow are a selection of detail pics, because I have certainly tried to put a whole lot of detail into this MOC to make up for the lack of an interior. Unfortunately, the hexagonal construction required a lot of ugly brickwork on the inside. She better remember to put on her helmet before opening the airlock! And HE better remember not to ask what's for dinner first thing, or he'll be the one in the airlock without a helmet... The dark bley printed tile here kind of messes with the color scheme a bit, but it was too perfect. Also, antennae. A closer look at the rock-house transition. And now a look at the landscaped portion of the MOC. This natural spring was an ideal spot to build the housing unit near to because of the ease of procuring fresh liquid for the Omnigenerator. Speaking of which... ...Nope, saving it for later on. Here's the spring's output. I originally had a brickbuilt waterfall but this looked more natural. A closer look at what passes for fungi on Oumoros. Though other parts of the planet have more Earthlike flora, vast plains exist upon which nothing grows except for massive networks of this mainly subterranean fungi. The occasional upshoot is necessary to collect Sun-er, starlight. MY FAVORITE PART!!!! The OMNIGENERATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...Basically just a huge hunk of ideas for greebles that I didn't or couldn't use on the building. I threw them together to fill in this space and instantly fell in love. Man, flex tubing makes everything better... However, it does serve an important purpose, as mentioned above; powering the housing unit with the bare necessities. OBLIGATORY EXTRA PHOTOS SHALL FOLLOW This glare-infested dome is the communications array. It sends messages and receives Internet signals (sadly, always outdated by a few weeks) via orbiting satellites. The dome protects the delicate components from the (literally!) acid rain and helps to amplify the signal. CURSE YOU GLARE!!!! :shakes fist at all nearby sources of direct light: Lastly, a similarly glare-infested (I had to use my big photoshoot for this one. ) size check to make sure that my entry does, in fact, fit into category A. Sadly, I do not yet own a 48x48 baseplate, but my other baseplates and some math proves that it does indeed. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Fourth Wall: 1.) The building's color scheme is based off of Bart De Dobbelaer's brilliant Hex series! Hope you don't mind, Bart, but I could think of anything better. 2.) This build really DOES fit in my lightbox! The pictures still have glare all over, but they are much improved from yesterday's. 3.) This fits into a themed series of scifi MOCs on the same planet. 4.)Yeah, I'm late. But not too late. 5.) Wish me luck! 6.) Don't forget to check out the better pictures on Flickr. 7.) SO MANY SMILIES I hope you enjoy it; please tell me what you think!
  3. This being the europian version only shows the set number, name and the age range. As you can see the Chima logo is new with bright lime green color and red spikes. Usually in the upper right corner we see the actual hero of the set but here Scorm’s head is presented with a shadowy look. The box shows Cragger and Laval running against a giant Scorpion car (are they crazy?) that is going to roll over them. The background is a foggy jungle. The back of the box is showing us the play functions described in 6 languages and shown in three boxes. There is another image which shows that Laval and Cragger is not so crazy after all and they flee from the Scorpion Stinger. And there is a picture which informs us that we get 5 Zamor spheres. Finally in the upper right corner we can see a Chima online game ad. On the top of the box we can see the 3 minifigs and Laval is shown is real 1:1 size. Content We get 4 numbered and one unnumbered bag, a DSS and two Instrucion booklets. The unnumbered bag contains the claws, Chi tubes and the rear wheel. There are really killer stickers here, they look insanely awesome and certainly add to the overall look. Minifigs First let’s start with the star of the set; Scorm, king of scorpions. He has a very detailed body printing, which looks a bit like a persian noble’s robe. The gold and black color scheme is very nice. Here he is with his unigue armor which comes only in this set, it looks wonderful and looks more like an ancient emperor here. His head is only one sided and the same as the other Scorions’. He is finished with a beatifully printed headpiece and a stinger tail. Look at that! Scorm also gets two guns which are named the Korrodors, they look great but compared to the fig they are too big. Here he is with my other Scorpion, Scutter I’m so loving these Scorpion figures! Note that the print on the headpieces is different! Now let’s move on to Laval, he comes with new printing as well, which looks really beautiful. There are so many detail on these tiny figs. He comes with a two sided head but since it’s not new, forgive me that I haven’t phtographed it. Now here he is with tons of accessories, note that his sword comes in black only in this set. Finally we have the Croc prince Cragger who made peace with Laval and they are besties again. His only new parts are the legs, which now have amazingly done crocheadkneepads. His torso is identical to Laval’s. He has a very neat bow-gun thingy. I really love the figs in this set, they all have new prints (some of them new parts) and have super accessories. Build Bags spilled, check. rare parts, check. I also encountered a piece which I haven’t seen, but after a little search I found out that it can be found in a few other sets as well. Let’s get on to the build, after bag 1 we have a strong mostly technic base and the 3 minifigures. With bag 2 we started to cover it and the Scorpion Stinger started to take shape. After bag 3 we have the scorpion head on the front and the cockpit. With bag 4 finished we add the pieces from the unnumbered bag as well and the ride is completed, Ta-daa! here is a shot of the spare parts, there is a galore of cheese slopes. The build was pretty straightforward with minimal repetition, my only problem is with TLG’s usual put-the-piece-here-and-after-you-can’t-access-it-put-a-sticker-on-it method… Other than that it was a nice relaxing build, with a few interesting techniques. The Set itself The Scorpion Stinger is a very unusual design. A 3 wheeled scorpion car. The designers made a great job recreating a scorpion shape. The head is very effective with the red diamond used for eyes, it’s one of my favorite parts on the vehicle. Here is a backshot showing the claw-moving mechanism. You have to push the dark-red plates and it opens the claws, and if you release it it closes, in this picture you can also see that there is plenty room here so Scorm can fit here easily with his stinger tail. Behind the cockpit there is a CHI crystal which provides energy for the vehicle. Now let me show the claw-opening function. et voilá! You can also place Scorm’s guns on the front. And with him finally in the cockpit, we can go and hunt some lion and croc meat. The Zamor acid spheres are stored. Dinner is prepared. Om-nom-nom Rating and Summary When I first saw images of this set I though it looked really bad, with the big rear wheel and just the whole concept wasn’t working for me. Then I checked a video review and came to really like the play functions and I just cama to like the look as well. Now it’s one of my favourite Chima vehicles, I really like scorpions and this vehicle resembles a scorpion very well. And there are the wonderful figs with their great weapons and accessories. I only can recommend this set, a very unusual design, great figs, fun play-functions and a reasonable price. Price 10/10 I don’t want to complain I got th eset 15% cheaper and it was totally worth it Parts 9/10 Rare and new parts, lots of useful pieces in great colors. Build 9/10 It was a smooth, straightforward build, I was expecing a bit more complexity and there is my issue with the sticker adding steps that I stated above. Minifigures 10/10 High quality figs, one of them is unique to this set, the rest have new printing and cool weapons. Playability 10/10 Claw-opening mechanism, ball shooter tail, the stinger tail is poseable (if you miss a step on purpose which locks the tail), the car can eat the intruders and the two fractions can fight, also the vehicle is sturdy and swooshable. Thanks for reading the review, hope you had a good time.
  4. More views on Flickr. In the delta of the Khos river stands Zuriel Castle, which guards the mouth of the river that brings life to the heart of the deserts of Loreos. Having successfully withstood all attacks launched against it by formidable foes, it stands as a bulwark against the enemies of the Desert Prince. For the Glory of Loreos! _____________________ Well, this was certainly a stretch to say the least. The irregular rockwork was pretty challenging, but building a castle on top of irregular rockwork was very difficult. Thankfully it all came together nicely, and I'm very happy with how it turned out. This is my first entry to the Tudor Castle category of the CCCX Thanks for viewing, and have a great day!!
  5. Hello. Me (101Wheeler) and my friend (commodore_legolas) were building this hovercraft the other day, and we decided to post it on EuroBricks. It has twin Turbo Thrusters in the back, a laser gun mount in the front, super speed, and a cool design. It was really fun to make. Oh, by the way, this project is on cuusoo, "Spy Theme" by 101Wheeler. Here is the link: http://lego.cuusoo.com/ideas/view/29740 We also have another project. Check both of them out!
  6. So yeah, I decided to throw myself into making a hero model that looked good and detailed, looked exactly like a normal, every day HF hero and could also be built in real life (Aside from recolours.) The result? I present to you... Thrusher, Hero of Heroes! (Or, at least, he thinks so.) Basically, the story is that Mr. Makuro wanted to make a hero similar to Thresher, but way better in every way. He sketched up a few designs, throwing away the ones he didn't feel were right along the way. In the end, there were 3 designs left. He passed the designs over to the Design Experts in Hero Factory, and they got to work on improving the designs further. Even later, they found numerous flaws in the designs of two of the three designs, and then there was one. They fixed every flaw and improved every detail and then one flaw remained, although it was so small and unnoticeable that they chose to ignore it and go on with the construction. The armour had the flaw that it would be slightly weaker than Thresher's armour, but the Assembly Tower's programs hadn't been updated to say the specific type of armour that was to be used was in stock. The machines used default, incredibly weak armour instead and so Thrusher, the new hero, was too vulnerable to be sent into extreme battle situations. Now, Thrusher is only used for patrolling the streets of Makuhero City, looking out for crime so he can report to Mission Control and have heroes sent to deal with the situation. Sometimes, though, he fights and easily defeats criminals with his Top Mark Grade Plasma Rocket Shield and Tornado Staff and that leaves people wondering... is he really not fit to go on a real mission? Oh, and LDD file: thrusher.lxf
