  1. Hello all! My latest Lego build is a bust of Lady Sharpe from Guillermo Del Toro's Crimson Peak. While not a major figure in the movie, an album filled with pictures of the ghost actors in their prosthetic make-up made me interested in doing this build. It joins my collection of Del Toro figures; the faun, Pale Man, and Hellboy. Enjoy! Feel free to leave a comment or concern. :)
  2. Delirium, youngest of the Endless and sister of Dream. My second bust based on Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" series. I liked the light in the background, so didn't edit the photos much. Enjoy! 3. A kind-of-bust of the Xenomorphs head, based on the Alien from Ridley Scott's 1979 epic Science-Fiction/Horror film Alien. Built for the up-and-comming Armageddon Expo in Dunedin in February/March, so expect many more film and comic book based builds from me in the future. More pictures found over on MocPages; http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/112830
  4. 'Oh hello! My name is C-3PO, human cyborg relations!' Hi guys! This is my first post on the Eurobricks Star Wars forum, so I'm sorry if things aren't 100% legit. After I built the 10018 Darth Maul Bust I wondered if it was possible to make an UCS LEGO C-3PO bust. Inspired by Erik Varsegi's life sized LEGO C-3PO I built a 1:1 life sized bust that took me 3 months. I started with yellow LEGO bricks (ordered from Bricklink), which I spray painted gold afterwards for a realistic effect. I know a lot of you don't like painting your LEGO, but this is an exception, because I will never take the bust apart and use the bricks for other purposes. Besides, ordering these bricks in gold from Bricklink is incredibly expensive, because it contains 9000+ pieces and some bricks are not available in gold. C-3PO's head can turn 180° degrees. The top of his head is removable and the inside is hollow so you have acces to the eyes. And of course, his eyes lit up like in the movie! The bust weights about 12 kilograms (26,5 pounds). May the force be with you!
  5. During March i took part in the MocAthalon over at MocPages (kinda using it as a spur to get out of a building slump, really) One of the catagories i was handed was to build a life-sized bust of a real or fictional person. And can i just say, man was this catagory hard... special thanks to whoever thought this catagory up, i had a blast and wow, was i stretched as well! It was my partner who actually suggested i make a bust of David Bowie as she is a huge fan - initally i was dubious but then when i recalled the classic "Aladdin Sane" album cover, i thought, could i actually pull off that lightening bolt across his face? I didn't know.. and there was only one way to find out! ;) I had a hard time photographing this with all the brick shine - i knew i wanted some white background shots to recreate the album cover, but i actually thought it would pop better on black and give viewers a better idea of the sculpting involved. So, here is a full revoloution of Bowie on black: The side on angles were the least flattering and showed where i struggled the most with the anatomy. The face is far too flat and you can see how enlongated the head is. But hey, the Ziggy Stardust character is a kind of alien, right? (Ok, just covering my failings i know!) He really did have an epic mullet in those days. Business on top, party at the back! Well, that's it. C and C welcome as always. Thanks for looking peeps!
  6. A bust of Gargamel, enemy of the Smurfs. This was made to be part of a Smurf display that will be at Brickworld Chicago this coming weekend. Gargamel by The Deathly Halliwell, on Flickr Gargamel2 by The Deathly Halliwell, on Flickr Gargamel3 by The Deathly Halliwell, on Flickr
