So over at minifigpriceguide I saw this picture of a prototype Cloud City Boba Fett. According to the website owner, it belongs to a collector in France. Now, I can imagine that if the regular Cloud City Boba Fett sells for hundreds of dollars, then this prototype would be insanely expensive, and must be even rarer. I was simply curious as to whether or not anyone here knows more info about this figure or has more pics. It is certainly interesting how it differs from the regular Cloud City Fett.

Hey guys, I'm just looking for some advice on a sort-of LEGO related topic... I have two cousins who each gave me a complete Cloud City set back in 2005... I didn't know the value and gave one full set to my best friend, who is now in his Dark Ages. As for the other, I completely demolished it and distributed the parts to my other friends... My only remnants are the Cloud City Luke and Leia... Anyway, I mentioned that my friend is in his Dark Ages. Do you think it would be rude to ask for it back? I'm sure he doesn't remember that I gave it to him... Thanks for the advice, legozebra

I've been waiting for Lego to release a new Cloud City play set, but since it has not been forthcoming I decided to make my own. There have been a couple great MOCs over the last few years, notably some fine work by StoutFiles, darththeling, and Lobot. My objective was to make something that would believably pass for a model that Lego would produce, as opposed to a diorama like most of the MOC attempts I've seen. As such, the emphasis is on play features and accessability, with an aesthetic that captures the overall feel of Cloud City without necessarily being totally movie accurate (e.g., the front facade is basically taken directly from the original Lego Cloud City, since I actually started this process trying to recreate that set). I was aiming for something roughly half as large as the 10188 Death Star set, with the idea that the set would come in at roughly half the price. According to LDD this set has about 1500 pieces. That is fewer pieces than, for example, the Ewok Village set, although weight-wise this Cloud City is a bit heavier (roughly 5 pounds compared to 4.75). Here it is: The set has three main pieces: a landing platform, the body of the set, and a catwalk/dueling platform. These pieces separate: The top level of the main body includes a hallway, a waiting room, and the dining room. The challenge with the hallway was to capture the feel of the movie scenes while also allowing enough space for hands to move figs around (i.e., it was not possible to put a roof on the set). In addition, there is an elevator that connects the top floor to the bottom. If you take the stairs instead of the elevator you'll find the trash/ugnaught room. This room has a working conveyor belt, controlled with a knob on the other side of the wall: Below the trash room, on the bottom floor, is a prison cell, with a door that slides open: After going down the elevator, a doorway leads into the carbonite chamber/dueling room: This room features a platform within the carbonite chamber that goes up and down, a string/winch that drops though the cone above the chamber (controlled with a knob on the side), and a light brick behind the chamber. Opposite the chamber is the large window that blows out to lead to the catwalk/dueling platform. The window sits on a spring/shock absorber that is sprung by a lever on the side: On the opposite side is the landing platform. This is much smaller than the one in the official Lego set, but I think it does the job. I'm still waiting for Lego to put out a new Cloud City, but this should hold me over for the time being. I'd love any feedback or tips on how I might improve the model.

This is my third Ep 1 free build, to get the complete story check these out first: http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=85637 http://www.eurobrick...showtopic=85976 It didn't take us long to find them. The Imperial Forces had hidden their TIE fighters in the one of the Cloud City service hangars.Out of sight but still ready to be deployed at a moments notice. We'd seen 3 fighters take off as we were approaching, but if we could put the remaining 5 out of commission our evacuation shuttles could hopefully approach without being blown to bits. "Prepare your thermal detonator" Sgt. Logan told me. He placed his detonator on the fuelling station, and I quickly followed suit. The resulting explosion would blow out the entire hangar and send what was left of the TIE's plummeting towards Bespin. As we were about to head out, both the doors to the hangar slid open. I saw their white boots even before the door was open: Stormtroopers. "Braze yourselves" Sgt. Logan yelled, "We're gonna have to shoot our way out!". The sneaking part of the mission was definitely over... Some detail shots: And a bonus shot of the greebling: Original image here: http://farm4.staticf...73b657908_c.jpg C&C welcome! I must admit I was not very inspired while building this, feels a bit square and boring to me (or am I just bored of my own ideas? ). There are a few things I know I need to do: - Build a foundation or something so the bottom shadow is eliminated - Move the Endor rebel by the stairs a bit so he's not blocking the only thing that's not square in the MOC - Maybe change the color of the thingamabob in the botom left corner to break things up a bit - Maybe adjust the camera angle a bit, a little higher so the walkway is more visible. Edit: Updated MOC, added a few more photos. Ready to be scored!

Here is my take on the Future of Star Wars: Star Wars - Episode VII 'Twilight Dawning' In this scene, Han Solo & Princess Leia Organa-Solo have chased down a new Bounty Hunter, Kal Durusk, into a small subsidary section of Bespin's Cloud City. Kal has the plans to a new weapon that will make life difficult for the Skywalkers...problem is Han and Leia are getting a little long in the tooth, and Kal looks to be escaping! Han pauses to catch his breath, and leans hard on his walking stick. He faces camera and breaking the fourth wall states,"We're Getting Too Old For This, Your Worshipfulness", while Leia attempts to focus her blaster rifle on the fleeing Bounty Hunter, only to have to pause to rearrange her glasses on her nose. Will the old Rebels manage to capture the Bounty Hunter? Or will they realise that their twilight years are upon them, and give it up in order to spend more time with the grandchildren... We're Getting Too Old For This, Your Worshipfulness 1 by mjfirefly, on Flickr This pic shows the vignette as first built, Kal's blaster can be seen poking out to one side! Please, also note the Clone Trooper helmet. Han has a walking stick in one hand and blaster in the other, while Leia is in her most comfortable robe. Notice that Han has gone grey, and both the old Rebels need spectacles now... We're Getting Too Old For This, Your Worshipfulness 2 by mjfirefly, on Flickr A closer look at the old Rebels, with Kal Durusk making a swift getaway. The clouds of Bespin can be seen out through the pressurised window. We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Elderly Han & Leia by mjfirefly, on Flickr A closer look at Han and Leia, and the detail around the pressurised window. We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Kal Durusk the Bounty Hunter by mjfirefly, on Flickr Kal Durusk, a new Yuuzhan Vong Bounty Hunter, expert with blaster and sword. We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Interior by mjfirefly, on Flickr The interior of the vignette, the main centrepiece being the pressurised window, not unlike the one that Luke Skywalker shatters in his fight with Darth Vader in Cloud City. We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Power Generator by mjfirefly, on Flickr A Power Generator, providing lighting. Notice the electrical wiring and interface couplers. We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Window & Door by mjfirefly, on Flickr The door and exit for Kal Durusk, his ship waiting nearby amongst the swirling clouds of Bespin - notice the light indicating Exit... We're Getting Too Old For This - Close Up of Elderly Han & Leia 2 by mjfirefly, on Flickr A closer look at Han and Leia, a little vaseline over the lens to hide the wrinkles... Leia is dressed in her most comfortable robe (following the fashions of the over 70s on Coruscant) and has favoured her original 'bagel' buns hairstyle - for ease of tying her hair back in her older years. Han is in his favourite black trousers and comfortable shirt - an old Rebel 'Endor' jacket completing the ensemble. He holds tightly to his walking stick, this fashioned from the tree that his dear departed Wookiee friend Chewbacca lived in on Kashyyyk, to always keep him close. More pics here:

Red Squad Six located and rounded up several civilians ready to evacuate. It’s time to make our way to the rendezvous point on the East landing pad. Upon opening the entry to the main hall we heard a sound "AUGUUUGUUUGUUUGRRRGHHHHH!" "Was that a Wookie?" "Get back, Stormtroopers!"

(Previously) Rebels were evacuating the citizens, luckely we arrived just in time to counter their escape. It really was close, if we would have arrived just a moment later they would have escaped. I had taken position on a tower to control the battle zone from above with my newly upgraded sniper. I hope you like it. More pictures of the Corellian Freighter can be found here (brickshelf).

With Episode One of Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka now launched and Bespin under invasion, I thought I'd have a go at creating one of Cloud City's residents, someone LEGO hasn't yet had a spin at. The Cloud Car Pilot, part of the Bespin Wing Guard, the security forces on Bespin. LEGO have only released one Cloud Car in the Star Wars Line, 7119 back in 2002 (thats not including the recent mini-build), and that came with Lobot, so no actual cloud car pilots have been made. Because they only feature in the film for a split second, there is little information on the uniform, so this version is mostly constructed from the action figure, which is why he has that awesome seventies moustache. Also included is the parts list so everything matches up. (Forgot to add that he is equipped with a DC-17 tiny blaster) Click the image to go to my Flickr Page, where the full size image can be downloaded for your enjoyment. I would love to see where in the universe he ends up (especially in any Nar Eurbrikka free-builds), so if you do end up using him, please post some pics or links. If there's demand for it, I can make a few more alternative pilot heads and ranks when I get a chance. ^_^

Episode I - SoNE free build - Cloud City This is my first attempt at a free build for Episode I, and I'd like it to be scored As most of you know I'm just a little bit obsessed with all things Cloud City. In my opinion it's the best Star Wars environment in all of the OT & PT films, it's just magical, nothing else comes close. Actually Dagobah isn't that bad....... Anyway, all of the scenes below show Lobot (in Stormtrooper armour) searching through the Incinerator Unit and two of the corridors of Cloud City whilst looking for any remaining rebels. All of the scenes have been illuminated with Technic LEDs and I designed them to be 'modular' similar to the classic set 10123. Incineration unit: This is the room where Chewie finds C-3PO in lots of pieces. If you look closely, you'll find part of him left behind, the facility has been totally abandoned by the Ugnaughts who usually work here. The incinerator unit was horrible to photograph, never again! Main corridor: Lobot contines his search of the facility, supported by another Imperial trooper. I based the design on the corridor where Luke & Darth duel, insert music to Pulp Fiction here Another corridor: Lobot encounters a solitary droid who continues to monitor the weather station, oblivious to the choas erupting around it. Over-view: An over-view of the build without all of the LEDs, showing how it links together (well almost!). Oddly I was most happy with my design of the weather monitoring equipment (they had a lot in the City, just take a look at the scenes where Luke is hanging beneath it!) Apologies for the rubblish photo....it was late, I was tired and just wanted to finish it!! C & C welcome

Here is my entry for SoNE Ep. I: In the deep of Cloud City The squad with the soldier Wedge09 is tasked to reach a Rebel cell hinding in the lower sections of Cloud City. The squad find the rebel cell but the Imperial find them and the fights began. In the rebel retreat, soldier Wedge09 is the last man to retreat in the technical room. The Imperials are coming... ...and the rebels retreat. If you use lights? In this two last photos, I try to give more atmosphere using some lights. C&C are always welcome, I hope you enjoy my small work

'Fixing' the hyperdrive Hi, this is my entry for Episode I of SoNE. The main problem with this MOC was a lack of source material that I could use, just Google 'Hyperdrive' to see what I mean Anyway, I based it on a design that I found in my, ever useful, 'Millennium Falcon Modified YT-1300 Corellian Freighter' Haynes Manual. And, for non-UK folk, the wonderful people at Haynes usually write manuals on DIY car repairs.... so it's a bit of a change from their typical books! In my MOC, Lobot (still in Stormtrooper armour), makes some delicate 'adjustments' to the Hyperdrive so that the rebels won't be able to escape the Imperial blockade. I originally intended to make this a lot larger, but from the cross-sections in the manual it's really cramped, so I decided to keep it small. 'Isn't that pretty, it's almost a shame to break it': As usual, I've illuminated this using Technic LEDs. Side view: I'm quite pleased with this, especially the main 'cooling tower'; it took far longer that I'd hoped but I'm a very slow builder. Another side view: This shows the entire MOC. I built it to be modular, so the sections can be split apart. View from above: I used lots of dark bluish-grey grills this time, I thought it might help to break up the light-bluish grey Completing essential repairs on the Hyperdrive: I appreciate that in The Empire Strikes Back, Chewbacca spends most of his time trying to re-build C-3PO, but I just couldn't have a Falcon MOC without Chewie. In this scene Chewie is overseeing the repairs to the Hyperdrive, by a Cloud City technician, or is that vice-versa? C & C welcome. Cheers, Robin

(WIP) I was escorting the civliains out of cloud city when Stormtroopers started to close in. "Come on!" I said. Then, one of the Imperials lobbed a thermal detonator our way... "Get down!" I shouted. Fortunately, I was able to avoid the explosion. But just barely. (Yes, I know it is kinda small. Comments and suggestions welcome)
