This is my build for "Friends in Space" contest on Rebrick. If you like it, please support it and 'Like' it here: http://rebrick.lego....ervatory/8vd1p5 The Friends' Moon Base Observatory The building hinges open and we see Mia is charting the night sky on observatory's telescope. Emma is just arriving through the airlock. She has two friends she made on a previous expedition excited to have her home. And Stephanie is busy examining rocks brought back by Emma. Her robotic dog keeps her company and reminds her that she needs to eat and drink as well as investigate. The ladder hinges up for easy access of the lab below and fits into its own space vertically for when the building is closed. The telescope dome opens and the telescope gantry rotates 360 degrees. I've been trying to bring some sense of order and control to my daughter's Friends layout as it is slowly taking over the dining room table, leaving me with little space for my own buildings. So, I've started "modularising" the sets into buildings to allow the layout to expand upwards instead of outwards. The latest is "Emma's place" which houses three sets featuring Emma - the beauty parlour, fashion design studio and karate class. This one was a collaborative effort with my daughter. Hence the random yellow tiles to finish off the first floor and total lack of floor tiles! Emma wanted to join in the fun of Hero Factory Month, so she invited Natalie to a girls' day out. First stop of the day is shopping for a handbag. Fortunately, Emma was able to convince Natalie to leave her weapons at home.
