  1. Tags: Vehicle, Spaceship Note: I hope this is allowed, it is just slightly over the deadline, but flickr was playing up... Also, sorry for the god-awful pictures... AG: Lorstan II by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr Kawashita's latest target was Lorstan II. Along with the usual landing and mining crafts filling the hangars, the crew of the command ship Triumph were also surrounded by warships. Growing tensions with the other corporations lead to a lot more uneasiness. Tyrus was called to meet with an member of Kawashita HQ, known only as the Tech Priest. Tyrus descended down to the bottommost floor of the Triumph to meet with him, though he didn't know why... The Tech Priest was a hooded figure, robed in red, with a mechanical face and metal claws for hands. He grasped a narrow staff between them. "Jycho Tyrus," he said in a deep, grinding voice, "I've been expecting you. As you are fully aware, major conflict between the other corporations is inevitable, especially with MANTIS. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Therefore I believe it is time to awaken The Ancients. Long ago, Kawashita had far more advanced technology than it does now, however it, and all of the records of it have been lost in a great battle long ago, with a band of rouges known only as the Black Stars or Blacktronium. They were more than meagre terrorists, they had a force only matched by Kawashita's. We won, but suffered almost utter destruction. Back then, I was more man than machine than I am now, and, as second in command of Kawashita, I vowed that never again should such powerful technologies need to be unleashed. Until now. I have chosen YOU, Tyrus, to command them. I have pulled an Ancient TitanCraft out of the galactic warps. Your task is simple. DO NOT let M.A.N.T.I.S. take Lorstan II! I will dismiss you, but remember, if M.A.N.T.I.S. get this technology, Andromeda will burn!"
  2. Andromeda's Gates Challenge 2 (A) by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr On behalf of the Commander of the Kawashita Fleet Defense Force, I am proud to present: The KF-DF24 'Hornet'! Armed with two ion-blasters on the front, and an automatic focus-fire droid controlled rifle behind the cockpit, along with long range comm systems on the underside, the Hornet is a tough opponent in space dogfights. Coupled with one of Kawashita's finest pilots, the Hornet is a force to be reckoned with! 3. Planet: D04 Terrial Minor Tags: •Vehicle •Land Vehicle •Exploration •Science Terrial Minor by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr After the Icy climate of Marden, nothing could contrast more than the arid deserts of Terrial Minor. He had been told that despite the harsh climates, the planet was teeming with life around the oases. However, as he flew over yet another biomass extractor, Tyrus had yet to find any, which made his mission to bring back samples rather difficult... Sorry for the late posting, and I hope to post a higher resolution image later. (Done)
  4. Jycho Tyrus had been given a bit of relief from the usual day to day work he was used to. He'd been told by HQ that one of the chief starship techies in Strato Base on the icy world of Marden wanted to speak to him. While Tyrus thought it slightly excessive that he should need to speak to the man in person, he was happy to get away from daily life for a bit. 'Consider it a week off' HQ had said. However just as he was about to board a shuttle bound for Marden, Tyrus was greeted by a short fat man, who shuffled in front of him to block his entry to the shuttle, and pointed in the direction of one of the G17-Miner ships, abruptly saying: "That one's for you. Off to Marden."."So that was really why they wanted me to go to Marden." Tyrus thought. Andromeda's Gates: Marden by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr After a 13 hour flight in the lumbering craft, Tyrus set the ship down on the snowy surface, as indicated by the mech on guard, and set the drill to proceed to drill into the ground, as Strato Base had ordered. After another few hours of watching over the drill, he climbed out and proceeded to the lift to travel to floor -14. Andromeda's Gates: Marden by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr He greeted the man working at a PC: "You wanted to see me." Andromeda's Gates: Marden by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr The guy turned from his computer. "No! Who are you? I haven't asked to see anyone!" It was as Tyrus had thought. "I'm Jycho Tyrus. It seems there has been an error. I'll be off now." "Wait. Jycho Tyrus? I've heard of you, apparently, you're one of the better pilots, one of the few who hasn't been hit by an asteroid or eaten by a giant space slug!" So that was why there were so few pilots... Andromeda's Gates: Marden by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr The techie continued: "I have a job for you." He hit a button on his keyboard, and a giant holo-display appeared. "Our base is the orange. You see those yellow dots, they are great sources of biomass. We need biomass, and you are the perfect candidate to get them. However, it isn't that simple. See those red areas, those are great magnetic rocks under the snow that'll send your ship crashing straight into the ground, and that'll hurt. Watch out for them. Speaking of ships, I haven't shown you what you'll be driving..." Before Tyrus could protest, the technician walked straight past him and activated another holo-display, this time, a 3D model of a spaceship. Andromeda's Gates: Marden by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr "What do you think of her? She's codenamed Silent Killer. You can see why. She's my latest project." But before Tyrus could answer, he was being whisked away towards the door. "Off you go, see you later!" Andromeda's Gates: Marden by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr Suddenly the ground shook, and both men were thrown to the floor. "It's just the underground mining operations." The technician said, but he looked doubtful. Tyrus also doubted this. Then the lights flickered, then darkness. A large roar filled Tyrus' ears, then he felt himself drifting into unconsciousness... * * * And here's a picture of the whole build: Andromeda's Gates: Marden by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr
  5. IMG_0146 by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr Jycho Tyrus had been assigned another mission by Kawashita High Command. It was fairly simple, check the progress of the water filtration facilities dotted around the main grassland continent of Aeristus. It was far from interesting, but it was a lot more preferable to doing one of the more hands-on jobs that needed doing. Tyrus was glad he had the quick reflexes and a sharp mind needed to be a pilot in the Kawashita Core Fleet. Once he had landed his craft in a patch of stubbly grasses, he headed out towards a small building and met with a man who was far less lucky. Didje Flack was a driver, and had been one of the first asked to operate the filtration facilities on Aeristus. He had been working for 2 months already, having to constantly unblock the pipes once, even twice a day. Tyrus soon found this out as he faced complain after complaint from the worker as he typed some commands into the console. After a quick examination of the data gathered by the facility, along with a water sample, he headed back towards his ship. This was going to be a long week... Sorry about the rushed story, I didn't have much time to write it... More pictures below.
  6. AG Challenge 1 by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr A small Dragor beetle crawled slowly across the snowy plains of Marden, hungry after his winter hibernation. At last he spotted something under a small rock formation, coated in a thin layer of snow. A small pool, beginning to thaw with the warmer temperatures. He peered over and saw just what he had hoped for: a freshly hatched Kroll maggot, recoiling its fat head, ready to pounce on an unsuspecting fly. AG Challenge 1 by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr The beetle watched as the maggot writed around, its teeth tearing the fly apart. He tensed his muscles, preparing his athletic body for his first kill of the year, a sense of delight floating across his small brain, with one thought only: food. meanwhile fury arm curled around the rock, unnoticed by any of the others present and darted out. The beetle never got his meal... AG Challenge 1 by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr - - - - - - - - I thought I'd try something different for this challenge, I had originally intended this to be a micro-scale build, but it turned out the complete opposite... Opinions and feedback is very welcome! I leave you with a shot of the whole build, and as usual, more pictures are on my Flickr. AG Challenge 1 by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr
  7. Andromeda's Gates Week 2 by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr Jycho Tyrus had been assigned his second major mission: to Greater Direstan. After his and his fellow teammates successful capture of the Hamilton Belt and its resources, he found himself gliding through the treetops, patchy plains and rolling hills and mountains of the beautiful planet, aboard the latest RF2-Series speeder. Suddenly, a beep on his nav-computer and a small purplish glint from a nearby rocky formation averted his attention. He'd found his prize...
  8. KF-IPS-422 (AG: Scouting Hamilton Belt) by Lord Tyrus, on Flickr Jycho Tyrus had been working for the Kawashita Corporation for many years now, but it was today that Tyrus saw himself going on a 'real' mission. No more escorts or freight transports, he had been promoted to the KP/DC, or Kawashita Pilot/Discovery Corps, and upon promotion, he was presented with a brand new Kawashita Fleet InterPlanetary Spacecraft, with the id number 442, and straightaway a mission to pilot a scout to the Hamilton Belt. The only other contact anyone from Kawashita had made with the system was a scouting trip made by Agent Beltar, though he hadn't reported back to HQ yet. Tyrus' mission was more than a scouting trip though. He and an explorer, Keo Tridon, had been ordered to the asteroid belt to gather some resources that the sector was apparently abundant in: Awesomnium. With a deep breath, Tyrus piloted his ship towards the centre of the asteroid cluster. Command had said there was 0% chance of alien activity in the area, due to the lack of oxygen, though he was still dubious, he had head stories of men who had been attacked by giant space worms living in the asteroids and were lucky to survive, and stories of some who didn't. He would have to hope that even if they were attacked, his five year pilot training would get them both out alive. "It's my first real mission," Tyrus thought, "Let's make it a good one!" * * * I started off with a shorter story than I usually write this time, I couldn't think of much to write today. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed it. More pics under the spoiler:
