Hey there guys! A follow up to my previous post, Iron Builder Week 1, here are all the builds from the second week of the contest :) Unfortunately I've been away plenty this week so the build count is significantly lower (next week is also rather busy but I'll see what I can do!) 10 days of competition left! Enjoy! David (Mods - If this doesn't belong here feel free to move it to a more appropriate subforum)

Smaug the terrible has been woken by those pesky H̶a̶l̶f̶w̶i̶t̶s̶ Halflings, and has decided to drown the city of lake-town in an epic ball of fire. Talk about a grumpy wake up! I would suggest anger management. My first entry for CCC small misc, there may be a much larger version of this in a year or two... maybe, this was a bit of an experiment. enjoy! A mystical magician approaching the solitary spire he calls home, to study the stars, read his books, and do magic stuff! Greatly inspired by the fabulous artworks of Péah. Normally I try build original completely compositions, but when I saw his work I just had to build it, it's so beautiful, and I'd love to build more of it! peahart.tumblr.com/ This is my main exhibit for the upcoming Auckland Brick show this weekend and Brickcon-NZ the following weekend, been tinkering with it for several months now, it was worth doing well I think :) unfortunately some bricks cough*lugbulk*cough haven't yet arrived which I would have loved to use, but you can't have everything can you? was a very fun build with some cool techniques and (what I think) is an awesome colourscheme, the ground is flesh and those accents are light and warm yellowish orange, I think? I finally found a use for all that medium azure i accidentally bought last year! :D Enjoy everyone! David www.facebook.com/davidhenselLego

In a world that had undergone nuclear fallout, everything needed to look 70% cooler so people liked it enough that they value it so much that it would never happen again. too much to lose for the materialistic minds of the future... The future sucks, but they do have cool spaceships! My build for Ma.ktober, after Simon guilt tripped me into building it by sending me a Ma.ktober brick early >.> inspiration from Calin, Ryan and Google, plus i stole Maelvins stand concept cause it's neat ;) More of the same images on my facebook page!: www.facebook.com/davidhenselLego Enjoy! Home to Radagast the Brown wizard, this house was featured briefly in the film "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey". Only the front facade was view-able from the movie, the rest of the creation has been made up based on fan art and whatever I felt worked. With an estimated 20-25,000 bricks and a footprint of a 77cm square, this is by far my largest creation to date, and one of the most complex at that. I have previously built a rendition of the house, but much smaller, only the front facade and without the surrounding landscape, and I've always wished I had done a better job at it, so when I saw the opportunity to do it justice, I decided to go all out with it! This was built for and sponsored by The Christchurch Brick Show 2016, but will be displayed around New Zealand for the next year or so, until it hopefully finds a permanent home (It's too big to fit in my room... too big to fit through the door for that matter!) Some of the challenges I faced with this was the conflicting time with my (very intense) architecture studies, and creating it modular so that I could transport it... just making the house was a headache enough in itself! Check out my Facebook page for more of my creations or to get in touch, and my Flickr for the high resolution images! Hope you enjoy! David

Inspired by set 6276 Eldorado fortress, by designer Daniel August Krentz, who passed away last week. Was started some months ago as an entry to my local lugs 'classic set redux' challenge, but my course got in the way and I didn't get round to finishing it. Not too much special in techniques and part usage (the one bit of NPU isn't actually visible in the photo) but some cool colours I think work quite well going on, hope you enjoy! David

Had a blast this weekend with the NZ lego gang at the Christchurch Brick Show 2014! this was my display, winning both AFOL choice and first in show! (yay more lego! :D) also as I didn't bring my camera im stealing other peoples pictures of the moc :p Not sure how this ties in with GOH really but looks like it could be part of it? someone at the show gave it the title "house of chaos", which has stuck :p enjoy! David this is the point in the build where I ran out of bricks...

The home of Baba Yaga. A bewitched cottage that according to legend, walks on the leg of a giant chicken, and possess many of the same characteristics of she who dwells there. Including the toe fungus. CCCXII Fairytale castle category This. Was. A. Pain. building a structure that stands on a travis brick and flexitube leg with supports that can only be placed where its hidden by the leg was possibly the most irritating thing ive ever done in lego. the second time i got it to stand, the leg collapsed on itself and the house took a roll off my desk and dived to the floor, believe you me i've had it with this build XD Besides all the frustration, im happy with how it came out, quite happy that im done with it and next time it smashes will be the final time... ok now i should really start studying, exams are kinda important :p Baba Yaga, according to Slavic folklore, was a witch of incredibly bad looks, a horrid stench, and probably toe fungus. She eats rats and taters', and dwells deep in the woods in a cottage which has often been reported to walk off in the dark... CCC XII Custom figure. Enjoy! David

Senneck is the eldest of a trio of brothers who live in the enchanted forests of Avalonia. Senneck is by far the wisest, and uses magic very seldom, mostly for helping the sick, and can often be found writing at the top of his tower. The locals come to him for guidance and wisdom, as he would appear to be the most qualified person around to give it... Sooooo this has officially been the most busy week of my life. a few months ago I registered to go to the auckland brickshow this weekend, not realising that my entire years folio for graphics and painting were due TODAY. the same day I have to have an exhibit built and fly to Auckland, so it's been... hectic, lets leave it at that. Personally I am happy with the tower top, and the tree itself, but I don't think they work as well together as they could, hence i will be building another tree moc, and another tower moc in due time :p I didn't like the stonework but with the amount of time I had I just left it be. anyhow hope you enjoy it, this will be at the Auckland lego show this weekend, and once again, more upcoming mocs on the way ;) Now to pack for my flight in a few hours... Sailing the seven seas taking, searching for pirate scum and bringing their days of looting and pillaging to an end, recruiting them as toilet cleaners and barrel makers for his majesty the King. More barrels = more ale, and the toilets... yeah. Pirate Jigbots beware! my contribution to a speed build with Evan and Simon, as a bit of a tribute to Nicks' original jigbot(s). I'm clocking in 5 hours, a lot of that can be blamed on the fact my collection is almost entirely unsorted at the moment, but I'm not gonna be american about this ;) Enjoy! David

After a dreadfully cute and disastrous rabbit infestation on his carrot farm, Ol' Farmer Poggard and his sons picked up what they had left and relocated to another part of the avalonian countryside, a good 20 minutes on foot, and together constructed a wheat mill. Turns out that was teh most profitable thing that could have happened to them, they actually began making an income and the success of Poggards' wheat mill was incomparable to that of his carrot farm, because let's be honest, no one likes carrots. CCCXII Medieval Husbandry The blades of the windmill turn, and the tower itself can rotate, like they do in real life. I'd like to make a motorised one of these one day for a convention... was quite a rushed build as Im off on holiday now for the rest of the year, and just got back from another holiday before christmas, which isn't building time... enough blabbing, it was rushed but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Based of this garbage. Hehe and I made an effort not to look at Cesbricks' Mill that he posted the day after i started playing around with the mill idea XP hope ye'all like it :) David out!

What does every castle need? Obviously it's a blacksmith. maybe even two. Really depends on how quickly your knights are blunting their swords trying to kill make belief dragons. CCC XII - Castle Building A remake of the classic (is it classic yet?) set http://brickset.com/sets/3739-1/Blacksmith-Shop I tried to keep the character of an angular house, without making it look like its decaying, along with keeping the simple retro feel of the set. Unfortunately it doesn't open up, but I did try and replicate as many features of the house as I could. Theres some things I'd have liked to differently with more time/parts (that stone technique is parts intensive!) but as i'm heading off for about 11 days this month i figured i'm a little rushed for CCC :P One day I may rebuild it better.... maybe... Enjoy! David
