A dreadnought class landship. - Probably a patrol. - Should Chogg engage the target? - No! We will follow him to the location of the main land fleet. Sector: G03 ~~~~~~~~~~~~Meanwhile, in real life~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dr. Long: "So, yeah, I will need you to file those follow-up behavioral reports by the end of the week. But it seems he's made excellent progress." Engineer: "Well yeah! He's hardly made a peep, since... you know..." Dr. Long: "Good to know. A quiet worker is a happy worker." "Log date 470, This is Dr. Danielle Long. The Subject's behavior has improved dramatically. I await a full data sheet from his handler, but I suspect that our behavioral improvement methods have finally rendered the subject a functional employee. Perhaps we can expand these methods to solve other problematic employees. I can think of a few who would potentially benefit from them... Dr. Long out, for now. Must check progress of Top Secret rescue mission." I've been experimenting (Science!) with that vertical border technique I'm seeing so often in GoH and some other expert builds. Location: B06 - Sorn Tags: MANITS, Land Vehicle Double D's log 22: Well, before I knew it I was back on Sorn. I was given the task to zoom around patrol several small docking zones. After a few hours of doing some jumps patrolling, I decided I pulled up next to one of those docking zones hoping to grab something to eat. --------------------------------------------------- Sorry for the lack of story....you should go read Big Sal's stories, they're great! Location: E01 Tags: Vehicle, Land Vehicle ...and the mithril solution works? Yes, perfectly. Good. Then let's put it into action. Our spies have located a processing plant for the fruit. I'm sending you to infiltrate it and use the mithril solution to turn the fruit there back to the normal fattening kind. It should only take a few batches before word gets around that the diet products don't work any more. Wait, you want me to infiltrate the plant? Me, personally? Yes. Did you get the spy suit I sent? Yes, but- It's one of the new ones with persuadomatic technology. Since you promised us it would work, you should have no qualms about testing it out in the field. I guess... but I really don't have time to be infiltrating bases! Make time. Long out. Later... Are you sure these are the right barrels? Yeah, we had a guy scope out their supply lines and this is how they transport water. The wood just seems a bit... out of place. What do you think they should be made of? Bricks? Do you realise how heavy that would be? Uh... Anyway, let's go over the plan one more time. You two will hide in these barrels with the mithril solution, while I pretend to be an Octan driver whose truck got stolen. When the next truck comes along we'll hitch a lift right into the plant. I'm wearing a wire so you'll be able to hear what I'm saying. Once we're in, and the coast is clear, I'll say the first code word, which is 'Octan'. That means you should pass the mithril solution out to me. Then... We burst out and blow the place up! YEAH! What?? No! Then you stay in the barrels until I finish sabotaging the fruit and drive us out of there. You'll only need to come out shooting if something goes wrong and I say the second code word, which is 'Kawashita.' Got it? Yeah... I guess... Good. Quick, I hear something coming, get in the barrels. Y'know, this seems like a waste of our skills. A waste of your skills? Try being a highly trained scientist on a spying mission! Now shut up! Hello down there. Need a hand? I sure do, fellow employee! Don't suppose you could give me and this water a lift to the plant? No problemo, I'm headed there anyway, and I've got room for two more barrels. What an amazing coincidence! Uh, yeah... amazing! So they ambushed you and made off with your truck, eh? I knew this would happen when corporate decided to let M.A.N.T.I.S. operate on this planet. I said at the time it was crazy! Location: E01 Donwarr Tags: Land Vehicle, Exploration Spacer Steve is out in the forest enjoying an exploration mission. The air is still and a great hawk can be heard screeching off in the distance. Life is pretty good at the moment. - Its is sure nice to get out an smell the alien flora! The CEO gig was sure tough. It is good to get back out in the wilderness. CRACK - What is tha..... AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!! - Agent L are you in the area? I have a bit of a spider problem. I could sure use some help about now! - Locked and loaded. I'll be right there A loud crash in the bushes can be heard as the MTG654 Dread Mech breaks through the woods. Looks like you need some help squishing a little spider! NONE SHALL STAY MY WRATH! Sorry it is easy to get carried away in this thing. S- Thanks for the help! I thought that thing had me for sure. Lets get this thing to base so our Xeno biologists can take a look at it. Location: E11 Fascini Cluster Tags: Vehicle, Land Vehicle Last time, in Ender's story: A Space Saga Begins Is it Mine Mine? Okami Bike As Ender rode across the desolate asteroid he sent off a background request on Hiro Nakamura to Shinra. He figured he'd need help chasing down these aliens and he knew Hiro would be up to the task. Almost immediately his request was returned with a positive note granting Ender permission to bring Hiro on as part of the Okami Force. It seems Shinra had already been looking into Hiro as a likely candidate to help them figure out what the aliens were after. After searching for a couple more hours and coming up with nothing he rendezvoused with Hiro. After parking his bike in Hiro's ride, Ender joined Hiro in the atmospherically sealed cockpit. They set the scanners to locate alien life and set off across the asteroid. Soon their scanners had picked up something worth investigating. It looked like the aliens were cornered and Ender was just about to put on his helmet to go confront them when something jumped over the rocks. The robot had super strength and pushed the hummer away from the aliens, allowing them to escape. After dumping the hummer on it's side, the robot ran off leaving Ender and Hiro stranded until someone could come and help them right their vehicle. The answers they were looking for regarding the aliens would have to wait... OoC: Credit for the robot design goes to flickr user markwisski.

Halixon had been deployed down to the ocean planet F10. The deployment shuttle dropped him onto the water surface on a Water Hovercraft. He'd use this to maneuver the vast ocean. Now, to find a small piece of land to set up a water pump... Top: Back: ------- Just a vehicle build. I would have built some water, but i don't quite have enough blue plates to set the hovercraft on. C & C welcome! Note: This is my first build in AG, so some helpful comments are appreciated.

Location: F10 Arium Major Tags: Science, Land Vehicle // PERSONAL DIARY // So as it turns out the turtles were actually the infant state of some aliens that inhabited Arium Major. The babies had made a distress call which just so happened to mess with human brains in a weird way. I guess they were nervous because from the signal intercepts they had gotten one corporation seemed to eat anything they could get their hands on, another corporation was of a warrior culture and therefore a threat, and as for our own corporation they feared we would take them as pets. Which I feigned surprise at and explained that as a scientist I was simply attempting to better observe them. It turns out that these aliens, they called themselves "Ter Tahls", lived underground on Arium Major because they liked to keep a humid environment. They also hoped it would keep our corporations from bothering them. Surprisingly they let ED-208 keep his gun as they took us into their subterranean living space. I guess the fact that we were massively outnumbered meant they were pretty secure in allowing him that bit of security. Once underground one of their elders, "Tor Tuss", came to guide us around. He explained that they had learned our language while studying us and from the signals they had intercepted. I was excited to tell him all about Dr. Long and how great she was and how he had to meet her because I was sure she would be so happy to help his species. He nodded and said there would be time for such things later. I was a bit disappointed because I wanted to show her all of this and tell her right away so she would know and be impressed with what I had discovered. I would off course leave off the psychotic episode I had where I imagined her with flames shooting out of her hand. And the panda. The Ter Tahls had a very advanced setup underground, it was quite impressive. I was sure that Dr. Long would love to learn more for our own scientific knowledge. Maybe we could even leverage their knowledge for the betterment of our own species! We headed out onto a landing platform and awaited a supply skiff that would take us to another part where Tor wanted to show us more of their incredible facility. Though we were vastly outnumbered and quite alone with an alien species, having ED-208 with me was reassuring. It was good to have a companion on this journey. And I knew just how excited Dr. Long would be and how valuable she would find me after I reported all of this to her! Extra Pics:

Dave from accounting: "Well what'd she ask you to do?" Big Sal: "She tasked me with building a scientific spy satellite." Dave: "That doesn't sound too bad." Big Sal: "It wasn't challenging at all! We have kits of those things! She wouldn't even let me add a death ray to it! That's hardly scientific." Dave: "That doesn't sound too bad." Big Sal: "Well, instead of a death ray, I added a huge honking rear engine and an array of grabber arms and some other hidden defensive and offensive capabilities!" Dave: "Cool." Big Sal: "I call it the Gunless Noiseless Asteroid Tacker, or GNAT!" ................................. Later, in the asteroid fields of E11..... Big Sal: "Alright... GNAT is nearing target..." Big Sal: "What the blazes?! Is that a giant space Panda holding a Vacuum?!" ........................................ "Log date 433, This is Dr. Danielle Long checking in from aboard my Personal Asteroid Navigation Defense Armour, or O-AN1PMAc555D. I've been informed that there's supposed to be an acronym in the vessel's name, but Acronym's are hardly scientific, and unauthorized use of acronyms can easily result in miscommunication and a subsequent drop in efficiency and work-place harmony, and therefore are subject to a rigorous approval process. I don't believe I approved an acronym for the AN1PMAc555D. Semantics aside, I am currently among the asteroids of E11, planting the Metal Eater bacterium on a host asteroid. I mean to test the viability of E11's asteroids as a growth medium for the Axle's gene-manipulation Labs' newest product. We've developed this fascinating organism, the Metal Eater Bacterium, to be a safe and nutritious source of Biomass for our valued employees. Once I have seeded this asteroid, we will track it and examine the growth habits of the bacterium natural void conditions. Almost done now. Dr. Long signing off." As usual, better pictures pending. We're stuck here until they rescue us, so just be quiet. … … … … This is all your fault. Is not. Is too! Shut up! … … … … Well, this whole experiment was a waste of time anyway. We drilled for hours and didn’t find any awesomnium. Might have found some if someone had charged the batteries. Someone like you? When they find us, you two are both walking back. Location: Workshop 01, MSS Titan, In orbit around Marden Tags: Building (Spaceship Interior), Military, Land Vehicle 20 Septembrinali 3815 Moose: "So what have you brought me down here to see?" Thorne: "Some very special designs of my own, that will help me, erm, I mean MANTIS, rule the galaxy." Moose: "But this workshop is for the basic maintenance of basic maintenance and janitorial droids?” Thorne: "Indeed it is. In fact we are currently working on obsolete JanDroid100TM models." Thorne: "Good work Simon!" Moose: "I still don’t get it? Why old droids, and why is he spraying the droid white instead of black and lime?” Thorne: "It’s Octan white of course. Did you not hear about Jurin II? Octan are susceptible to explosive devices hidden inside cleaning apparatus! And since these jumps though Kawashita dominated regions are taking us closer to Octan’s area of operations we need to be ready!" Moose: "Erm…" Thorne: "And here is the finished product, looks like the latest JanDroid300TM, the vacuum even works. We send it into the local Octan resource extraction facility and then, BOOM!" Moose: "Erm…isn’t the dynamite strapped to the back a bit of a giveaway?" Thorne: "Chief Accountant Long wouldn’t approve funding for anything more sophisticated. She called the work ‘pointless’ but I’ll show her! Just wait ‘til she sees the JanDroid500 in action." Moose: "But they don’t make a model 500?" Thorne: "They will when they see my designs! Here, take a look at this holo-disc." Moose: "What the…?" Thorne: "I’ve doubled the size of the design to permit operations over more rugged terrain. On top are twin plasma cannons and it can carry equipment for our ground combat forces. To top it all off it can be controlled through the same neural interface as our aerospace combat drones." Moose: "You want me, to ‘pilot’ this?" Thorne: "Well, only if we don’t have time to train our drivers on the neural interface control system." Moose: "…okay…but…erm…why does it still have the vacuum attachment?" Thorne: "Ah…hmm…for clearing the battlefield of the remains of our enemies of course…?"

Location: Freegate - G02 Tags: Civil, Land Vehicle, Spaceship, Exploration While dropping supplies to mining startups on G02, Pilot John Hannibal noticed a strange circular formation on a glacier. Because Cantillon was already headed for the surface with OS-461, Hannibal decided to tag along with the Mercy Brandy's current land speeder to investigate the anomaly. There certainly appeared to be a man-made structure carved out of the ice and Hannibal circled around to get a closer look. When he did, he was "greeted" by some green-faced man, yelling in a foreign tongue orders Hannibal generally understood. Both stayed still, the green man with some sort of pike and Hannibal with a revolver he was not sure if the native had noticed. As the moment tensed, Hannibal caught the shadow of a ship coming overhead. Cantillon should not have the 461 in this sector. Hannibal risked angering the native to radio the Octan pilot. He didn't want to see the native killed, over such a simple misunderstanding. Cantillon - "Hannibal, I'm not in that sector but I'm on my way. Keep your comm open, the Mercy Brandy is coming in overhead." Hannibal stomach sinks. The mysterious ship drops in. The native doesn't move; eyes locked on Hannibal; pike back and ready to fly. He appears to be human, but the markings on his ship are neither Kawashita nor M.A.N.T.I.S. The pilot approaches. Hannibal remains silent, keeping the native within his field of vision. Location: A08 Tags: Science, Vehicle, Land Vehicle So all you need to do is head towards any signs of life. Smaller creatures can be collected by the arms and brought aboard for study. If you come any plants or larger creatures, just drive straight into them. The M.A.N.T.I.S. Death RollerTM will cut them up and send the pieces through the scanning bed where they’ll be automatically analysed. And if we come across any Kawas, sir? Well, we had to cut some corners building this thing. It’s entirely possible that the brakes could fail and lead to a ‘tragic’ ‘accident’. Understand? Heh heh heh, yes sir! Sir, I’m picking up a small life form nearby. Excellent, let’s go get it. Got it! Good. Bring it into the containment area. It doesn’t look particularly promising. No. But it’s clearly an infant. Run the life cycle simulator to see what it’ll look like fully grown. Simulating… I don’t think this is what we’re looking for sir. It doesn’t seem to be dangerous at all. But it is giving off an intense low frequency sound wave. Maybe a distress call? Maybe. But I hardly think we need to worry if more show up, they’re clearly harmless. Ah, this is the life, eh Schmidt? No CEO nonsense to worry about, just driving across an alien planet doing science! There’s nothing that can stand in our way! Uh, sir? What? You might want to see this… Damn it! Sir? We’d better stop. Although… Uh, sir? *Sigh* Yes, stop the engines. Sal, what the hell is this monstrosity? It’s my new mobile lab. You authorised it, remember? But you cut the budget in half. That’s why it looks so ugly and doesn’t even have a roof. Roofs are expensive Sal. Anyway, what are you doing with it? Location: B05 Marphacia Tags: Land Vehicle, Spying So what information are we trying to get out of them sir? We need to know if they detected the massive explosion we caused the other day. If the Kawashita seismology lab didn’t detect the explosion, we’ll know the GATE field expanded ahead of the explosion and stopped the information leaking out. If so, we have a functioning cloaking device, we'll just have to fine tune the stabilisers. Couldn’t we just ask them if they detected it? No! If we just ask them if they’ve detected any explosions recently, they’ll know we’re up to something. We have to persuade them to tell us, preferably without even realising we’re from M.A.N.T.I.S. That’s why we’re in this Kawashita boat! Exactly. And it has to be a row boat so it doesn’t upset their seismology instruments. No point annoying them before we even get there. And you have to be here to do the rowing… I see the lab sir! Good work Stevens, bring us in. Now, this is probably going to take a lot of natural charm and quick wits, and you don’t have a persuadomatic spy suit, so let me do all the talking. It could be very difficult to get the information out of them, so prepare to witness some incredible spying. Yes sir! Ok, here goes. I guess I’ll knock on the door. There are lots of sentient, communicative plant species in Andromeda actually! That’s what I told them! But they’re still giving me the silent treatment! It would be a shame if you had to leave before you try it… you could have all sorts of ‘accidents’ if try to you leave on an empty stomach… *Gulp* OK, OK! Location: B05 Marphacia Tags: Land Vehicle, Science Note to judges: Only the scenes with the swamp speeder should be judged, the rest re-use my build from last week. I’m just worried after what happened last time. Ah, but last time we didn’t have the expert advice of Ensign Stevens. He’s part of Moose’s team so he’s up to date with all their latest findings. Isn’t that right, Stevens? Err, well… Excellent! Plus, I’ve completely redesigned the stabiliser architecture. Speaking of which, where the hell is Redsyn with the last stabiliser? I’ll give him a call. Redsyn! Where are you? I'm having a little difficulty with the natives. Well, hurry up, will you? I’m getting bored here. Yeah, I’ll try. Some time later… ...and I usually play as Mitgardia. Redsyn! What’s the hold up? Trouble with the locals. Still?! Different ones this time. Unbelievable. Right, let’s just go ahead with three stabilisers. What?? It’ll be fine. We almost had it right last time with four stabilisers, but these new ones are a lot stronger. We could probably even manage with two. What do you think, Stevens? Err, well… Exactly! Norton, activate the stabilisers. Activating stabilisers! Sal, I just did some calculations, and going from fourfold to threefold stabilisation symmetry is likely to decrease the discontinuity threshold by at least seven orders of magnitude! Good point! Norton, only initialise the GATE drive once Stevens and I are a safe distance away. I promised Moose I’d get Stevens back to him in one piece. Wait, what?? Location: F03 Forring Tags: Land Vehicle, Space Vehicle, Civil Building, Science Previously... // PERSONAL DIARY // While Dr. Allison and I were taking a tour of one of the Farr-tes advanced scientific research facilities we were awaiting the return of ED-208. He had received a full overhaul and we were told to expect him via one of the mini-ships Octan uses for robot delivery. The ships aren't very spacious and lack food and restrooms, but they are very efficient and reusable. The lab was very advanced and had access to vast computing power. In one of their experiments they were superheating Awesomnium into a gas to see how it behaved and then were going to try combining that with other elements to see what the result was. Mike was working in the small updraft lab which prevented any vapors from escaping without being hermetically sealed. They weren't running any experiments at the moment so he was able to show off the lab and the various features. I'll definitely have to make sure we get some like this installed on the Axle! Location: F03 Tags: Land Vehicle, Spying Ok, but... just explain it to me one more time... Unbelievable! This plan is like spying 101, I don't understand how you're not getting it. I've hacked Octan's computers to trick them into thinking they’ve detected a prisoner transport. They’re going to come after you thinking they’re rescuing one of their guys. Right… Redsyn here is one of our best drivers – he’ll lead them on a merry chase but will eventually let you be ‘rescued’. By using the tracking device we implanted in you we’ll find out where their base is when they take you back there. Simple! Uh… ok, I think I understand now. But why not use an actual Octan prisoner? I have… other uses… for the real prisoners. Unless you’d like to trade places with them? No sir! I thought not… But won’t they realise I’m not actually from Octan? No, they’ll never suspect it. I thought you said this was obvious, like spying 101… Don’t worry, our forces will show up well before Octan has time to find you out. This plan is foolproof! Wait… To be continued!
