Build as relaxing little MOC between more challenging projects, Nori in his regal armour found at Erebor's vaults (and seen to briefly in The Battle of the Five Armies). I had bought 125 short black chain pieces from LUGBULK this year. I think they look very nice as chainmail. Few more shots and talk on Cyclopic Bricks. Thanks for watching!

(This is a story of a Hobbit who goes on a dangerous adventure. This is the first episode, and each episode will be released every weekend, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. C & C welcome over all, but i would also like to see your thoughts on the story. If you are not a fan of reading, then perhaps this is not for you.) Next Episode: The Start of Adventure Hello all, It is my pleasure, to introduce you all to a particularly curious Hobbit. His name is Frednas Hamsfoot, though most call him Fred. His family of Hobbits, the Hamsfoots, were a small, and lesser known family of Hobbits. Frednas had always had a soft heart for the Baggins of Bag-End, for he also had an interest in adventure. Frodo Baggins had just left the Shire to the east, and why that is, is unknown to the whole of Hobbiton. Frednas had just woke up to the chirping of birds. Today was Thursday, market day. He jumped out of bed, grabbed his walking stick and ran out the door into the green hills of Hobbiton. He leaped over several fences, with other Hobbits yelling at him for his enthusiastic behavior. Though, it was not the market where he was headed. He was on his way to Albung the alchemist to pick up a special draught. He ran past the market, with a few friendly people waving. Madoc the farmer in particular waved and greeted him with a "Allo Fred! Care to stop by for a carrot or two?" he said. Fred waved back. "Sorry, i'm on my way to Albung's!" he ran on, up to a small shack in a hill. A sign hung above the door, 'Albung's Alchemy' it was called. Fred walked in slowly. A foul stench came from the shop. Albung stood in front of a small table with a frog on it. He held a knife high above his head, and he brought it down, just above the frog's head. "Wait!" Fred exclaimed. "Ah, Frednas. Your here i see." Albung said with an old, raspy voice. "Yes, i am here for my special draught i ordered." Frednas replied. "Ah, right." he dropped the knife, and walked back to a corner, looking through a box. The frog hopped off the table and leaped out of the shop. "Hold on, i'm going to need something first."Albung said. "What?! I already paid you with twelve shillings!" Fred exclaimed. "Yes, but i must have this item." Albung said. "Ok, what do you need?" Frednas said reluctantly. Albung turned back towards him. "Yesterday, fifty years ago, in the time of Bilbo Baggin's absence, a friend and i were messing around near the entrance to his basement. We foolishly decided to sneak in, and steal something. We went in when no one was looking, and we snuck through the dark halls. We found a blue sapphire gem deep within, but Lobelia Sackville Baggins was also snooping around the halls, and caught us. She dragged us by the ear back out to our parents. Ever since, I've wanted that sapphire for a special kind of potion that is in high demand. I need you to sneak into Bilbo's basement, and retrieve this gem, and bring it back to me. Then i will give you the draught as well as the money you paid." Albung said. "Alright, so i sneak into Bilbo's basement, steal the sapphire, and bring it back to you, got it." Frednas was off like a rabbit being chased by a wolf. He snuck up to the door at the base of the hill. He opened the door when no one was looking, lit a torch and went into the dark cellar. He saw a great many things, from broken shelves, to dwarven helmets. He'd heard of Mr. Baggins' adventures, but he didn't know that he'd had dealings with dwarves. Far back in the hall, he saw a blue round object that glinted from the light of his torch. He cautiously tread deeper into the basement, towards the blue object. He picked it up, it indeed felt like a sapphire. Perhaps it was the object Albung was looking for. He took a swift glance around for any other blue objects, but he saw none. This was definitely it. Now, just to get out of the basement. As he was exiting, a large spider crawled down from his resting place and towards Fred. He ran out in shock, all because a mere spider. Now, to return to Albung... "Ah, Frednas, how did it go, did you find the sapphire?" he inquired. "Yes, but almost at the cost of my life!" Fred exclaimed. "How so?" Albung asked. "As i was leaving, a humongous spider came after me. I've never ran so fast in my life!" Frednas huffed. "Well, i suppose that after being left alone for so long, a spider would tend to grow large. Now, if you could hand over the gem." Albung stated. "Here." Frednas handed him the blue jewel. Albung took the jewel, and headed back to the box. He dug through it until he found a shiny gold bottle. "Now, the contents of this draught always have a positive effect, but it varies it's side affects. Only use it when you are most ill." "Thank you," Frednas accepted. To Be Continued Next Week... (More pictures Below.) The First Build: The Second: The Third:

Hey everyone, I was pretty excited about the announcement of the BrickHeadz line for 2017 and I like the superhero figures that were revealed for the SDCC. So I thought about what other characters I would enjoy being released as BrickHeadz and the dwarves from The Hobbit immediately came to mind. I started figuring out the basic design and dimensions of the figures TLG has shown so far and built Balin as my first attempt at this building in this Chibi style. I quickly rendered the model for now, but once I have refined the MOC and checked the availability of the parts used I'll place some Bricklink orders and build it for real. *Edit*: Pictures of the brickbuilt model in the fourth post. *Edit* Anyway, here are some pictures! I'd love to get some feedback from you.

A few LotR MOCs: Galadriel, Elrond, Gandalf the White, Gondorian knight, Sam, Frodo, Merry and Pip. The hobbits pre-date the official ones with a few later parts. Apologies for the rubbish photography. Questions, comments, rings of power?

Thanks to the Balrog being included in Lego Dimensions, I managed to reverse engineer the design in LDD and build it for real. It turns out that the design used doesn't really work in plastic, and some of the parts simply don't exist. This is my edited version to stay as true as possible to the original and still have it working. The Lego Balrog by siegfried_fm, on Flickr I've included the LDD files and wing templates in my original blog post: http://www.beardedne...e-rings-balrog/ Feel free to build your own and improve on the design!

This was a back-up entry to the Middle Earth LEGO Olympics on MOCpages. I built it before hand just in case the entry I actually submitted (which you can see here: http://www.eurobrick...00#entry2103221) didn't work out. :) The category is to take a song from the Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit movies (this one being "May It Be," which is played during the credits in Fellowship of the Ring) and interpret it into a build. I don't really have thoughts on why I chose this scene, other than the fact that whenever I heard the song, this one always came to mind. :)

I'm looking for a shield with the white tree of Gondor permanently applied/printed on it. Where can you get those? Are they good quality? Alternatively, does anyone provide a sticker or transfer of the white tree? I already have a plain black shield that would look good with the crest of Gondor on it. Thanks in advance, Amps

This is my 5th entry to the Colossal Castle Contest - Category: Castle Siege This is a scene from the Lord of the Rings. The armies of Mordor are attacking the city of Minas Tirith. They are using the battering ram named Grond to break through the main gate. It is shaped like a wolf's head and enchanted with black magic. I hope you enjoy, thanks for C&C

Hello fellow Eurobrickers! Here's Glóin, son of Gróin, brother of Óin and father of Gilmi, the newest addition to my Hobbit dwarves MOC line! The beard was the first part I built, as usual. I threw it together on the last summer if I remember correctly. Designing the torso invoved both some basic and some more complicated SNOT techniques. Glóin has some packs and bags on his belt as he's the money behind the operation. The arms and hands are posable. The shoulders have ball joints while the elbow joints work with T-bars. The boots are rather simple, but I'm very happy with the round shape. Sons of Gróin. See more on Cyclopic Bricks and photos on Flickr. Feedback would be pleasant.

After looking at some of my LotR characters I decided I would go one step further in making them stand out by giving them hair pieces. The problem is I am not sure which are the best hair options. The main characters I am looking at right now are Eomer and Theoden. Eomer in particular needs to stand out because the cloak alone just isn't doing it for me. I have tons of other minifigures with his face, torso, and helm serving as generic Rohan Soldiers and the cloak is the only thing I use to differentiate Eomer from them. Theoden is already pretty unique with his brown and gold armor but I would like a hair piece for him as well when he isn't all geared up. What have others found to be the best hair piece for these two characters? I was looking some up on BL and it seems the female hair pieces are the best for Eomer as he has fairly long hair? Which is the closest match to his hair in the movie though? I also would like to find some better hair for Gandalf and Lurtz if anyone has any good suggestions for them, though they aren't as important. Their current hair doesn't really look that good and I am sure there are better options out there.

Right now it doesn't appear we will be getting a 2014 LotR wave and the theme may possibly be done. I am hopeful we will get a wave next year as there is just too much missing. If not though, what would be the ONE thing you want to see come from the LotR theme? This can be anything not done yet.. a minifigure, a structure, a creature (brick built or molded), etc. Basically what is the one thing you would want to see before the line ends? Personally I think it's a Gondor Soldier for me. A nice Gondor printed torso would all me to make my own Pippin and Faramir in Gondor attire as well as obviously covering the one big faction still missing from the Middle-Earth Lego universe. Eowyn can be created using existing parts and a Balrog/Fel Beast/Mumakil can all be brick built and MOC'd. Really the only major character that can't easily be re-created is the Witch King, though technically we could have him in his normal Nazgul hooded form and we will get his ghost form with the Hobbit wave. I feel like Lego not making a Gondor soldier does not leave us with any easy options to make our own since the white tree print and helm are so unique.

Here's the next dwarf on my project - Nori, the thief. Nori was an average dwarf to build expect for the head and its odd starfish hairdo. I specially like how the eyebrows came out. The beard braids use minifig legs as the array of brown joint pieces is rather limited. More on Cyclopic Bricks, photo on Flickr. Hope you enjoyed! I guess Fili will be next, but it might take while since I'm running out of dark brown pieces!

So now that the sets from the second Hobbit wave have been out for awhile, which is everyone's favorite and why? Personally I am torn. I think Mirkwood Elf Army has some nice figures but the build's not that impressive. Lake-town Chase has a much better build that is more accurate to the film but the figures aren't as good (but they still are very nice). I like that Dol Guldur Ambush has hair and ears for the orcs and Beorn is a nice minifigure, and of course Dol Guldur Battle has some nice minifigs as well with Azog and Radagast, but neither DG set has a great build imo. I think overall I would have to go with Lake-town Chase as my favorite with MEA in a close second. If MEA would of included an armored elf or two I think that would of hands down been my favorite set. Usually I am a huge army builder fan but as it stands MEA just has too many issues; Thranduil is great if you buy the set once but beyond that is redundant and hard to use, the walls are pathetically short, and 3 elven scouts are too many when they are all the same imo. So, what is your guys' favorite wave 2 Hobbit set?

I know a lot of people were looking forward to the Elrond minifigure, but it appears it no longer will be available and all of them they had in stock were sent out with the Nintendo DS/Ps Vita pre-orders that shipped Oct 30. Here are the e-mails I received from Gamestop when I inquired about the minifigure: Unless this employee was horribly misinformed and they will be getting in another shipment, it seems they have no more Elrond minifigures to send out when the console and PC versions of the game ship next week. I mentioned this possible dilemma in the Elrond Designer video thread because I first noticed people claiming they were not recieving the minifigure with their DS/Vita pre-orders on another forum. If this info is right, this seems incredibly sloppy to me. People who ordered the PC version and consol version of the game didn't even have a shot at the minifigure. Thoughts?

After getting several Uruk-hai Army sets I have started to notice my Rohan soldiers really starting to look way to similar and redundant. I tried using Eomer without his cape as a basic grunt and switching his helm/head/torso/legs with the Rohan archer, but this only allows for so many combinations and still they all have either the orange or light brown facial hair. Unlike with the Uruk-hai there just aren't that many possible combinations for Rohan soldiers atm unless you look outside the LotR line. Luckily they are a somewhat rag tag band so you can easily switch some pieces out and get a really distinct looking army that still feels very Rohan-esque. With that said, I am now turning to Bricklink to further customize my Rohan army. My question is what helms/heads/torsos/legs have people found to work really well as basic Rohan grunts? I would obviously prefer flesh color heads as those are what the rest of the LotR line is done in. I would also prefer the newer, really highly detailed pieces to better mesh with my exisiting LotR minifigures (no Harry Potter heads from 8 years ago please!). So, what can you guys come up with? I would prefer not to have to do any modding such as painting or cutting/modling. Even so, here are some great custom figures from General Magma to give you a general idea of what I am going for!

I built this Lord of the Rings MOC last week and brought it to an event with Swebrick, the Swedish LUG, this weekend. First I had planned to do a build with all of the fellowship, but I didn't come up with anything good at the moment so I settled for this idea. I think it is a really iconic scene for the first movie. Sorry for the non-clean background. The trees got a bit demolished in the transport home and I'm not sure if I'm going to rebuild them so I took the photos from the event. Hope you like it!

Good evening! I am happy to announce that my project to build the company of Thorin Oakenshield from the Hobbit films. The project began 656 days ago in a land of which kind no longer exist in Middle-Earth when I posted bust of Balin in November 2012. It sort of grew into a full Balin, and got a brother Dwalin, and a cousin Oin, and some random Bifur guy... And well, I decided to build the dwarves, and then somebody asked (probably here on on EB) asked if I'd build Gandalf and Bilbo. And well, I did. You probably remember some of these MOCs (Kili even made it to the front page). The new ones here are Ori, Bilbo and Gandalf. Of course the story of the company doesn't end here. There will be conventions and exhibits to visit with these guys. There's heaps of more photos on my blog. Enjoy. At least I did enjoy building them!
