  1. With the threat of Victor finally gone, the people of Nadur are able to return to their homeland, where the process of re-construction has begun! Not only are they concerned about building back their houses, but also the prestige of Historica. So the people of Nadur have commissioned a huge statue, commemorating the brave knights of Historica. A master craftsman works on the head. And another renown sculptor adds to the base! Those pesky cows! Building the roof! My inital plan was just to re-build the village, but after re-reading the rules I decided to throw a statue in there. I was pleasantly surprised with how he turned out! I'm not entirely happy with the landscaping, I think I bit off more than I could chew size-wise! I'd also like your opinions as to how the lime green worked. The main reason I added it was because I had way too little green and also because my original (miniature) depiction of the village I used the color. Anyway, C&C welcome! I'm thinking about doing another entry to make up for the lousiness of this one!
  2. Hey guys This is my entry to the Master Architect Challenge. The war against Viktor and the Hand of Corruption was over. But all the Aftermaths were still there. Most of the cities in Mitgardia were destroyed and so also the great Mausoleum of Marius III in Valholl. Now, it would be time to repair it, thought the old and ambitious Theodor. And they began working... Theodor was an old noble man and he volunteered to repair the mausoleum for the city. There were a lot of men working for him, althought he wasn't that rich and couldn't pay that many workers. They just didn't know it. But then, something happened, what he wouldn't have expected... Ragnar the Audacious and some of his men arrived at the mausoleum. Ragnar: "What's happening here? Who are you?" Theodor: "My name is Theodor of Findolfia and I'm repairing this old mausoleum that the Hand of Corruption has destroyed!" Ragnar: "Findolfia... I think I've heard that name before... whatever, do you have permission for this? And who pays all the workers here?" Theodor: "Yes, I have, but I also have to pay the workers. (whispers) Of course I don't pay them... They were members of the Hand of Corruption and I could catch them, so they now work for us for free ." Ragnar: "Let them come here! Immediately!" Theodor: "You see, they all look very happy. They like their job." Ragnar: "I forgot to ask, why are you doing this all?" Theodor: "Do you know that the election of the Mitgardian Prime Minister is soon? I do good stuff for the city and this raises my chances to win this election. Then I can do everything, I have more money than you can ever imagine." Ragnar: "You fool! You call this good things? You let these men work for you, while you stand around and do nothing! They don't even have a decent equipment! And trust me, they're not really happy. But I have an idea..." The end. Last but not least, some shoots from different angles that you see the whole work .
  3. Master Architect Challenge: Repairing the Walls of Petraea The walls of Petraea is one of the mightiest structures in Kaliphlin, tall and strong they have protected the city for centuries. Several miles long, they encircle the entire city of Petraea. During the onslaught by the elementals, for example as described here, parts of the walls got damaged and hard work is ongoing to repair them. The wall is faced with cut blocks of the ubiquitous Kaliphlin limestone and has a core of mortar mixed with various solid objects such as bricks, stones, roof tiles and parts of even older structures. In long parts of the walls a clever building technique has been used, where several bands of brick are laid through the whole thickness of the wall. In addition to its decorative value, the brick bands also bond the stone face to the mortar core increasing the strength of the wall. At irregular intervals, depending on the terrain, towers provide defenders with positions to fire upon attacking enemies. A typical tower can be seen here, with a battlemented roof and several floors with windows or arrow slits, depending on the height above the ground. The lower floors of the tower are accessed by a door at the back of the tower, while the top floor and roof platform are accessed from the walkway on top of the wall. Sir Gideon is assisting in this effort by hiring the Arkbri Falcons to repair one stretch of the wall where the tower and top of the wall got damaged. The Falcons are of course doing very little manual labor themselves, but are instead using a group of orcish prisoners of war captured when The soldiers of the Arkbri Falcons seize all the opportunity they can to bully their captured orcs, and everyone turns a blind eye to this practice as former servants of Victor Revolword are thoroughly disliked in Petraea. Ediz Falconi and his men certainly don’t work for free, not even when aiding old friends as Sir Gideon. As with the Arkbri Falcons, the Petraean guards also prefer to idly watch the orcs do the work rather than lending a helping hand themselves. A captain of the Petraean city guard is however patrolling the walls to inspect the progress of the repairs, and he might not be entirely satisfied with his lazy soldiers... Don’t look down! Built in only three days as my time away from my bricks got extended due to extraordinary good weather. This was by far the most forced build and also the most tan-consuming build I’ve made. I’m not entirely satisfied with the photos, so I will maybe re-shoot later but this first attempt is what I had to work with to meet the MAC deadline. Also pardon (and please point out!) any typos and grammar errors as I write this at a time which is way into the night Swedish time...
