  1. So, You may or may not remember a while ago, I had made my own AT-AT microfighter, which ended up looking like a mini replica rather than a cute chibi version like TLGs did. I then made a snowspeeder to go with it, as who would have an AT-AT without a Snowspeeder?! Then I got onto doing an AT-ST, because, well, they were also briefly shown to be there, at the Battle of Hoth... So anyways, I then had 1 of each. I have my own minifig scaled AT-AT, but in no way can I ever afford to do a full size Battle of Hoth. So then I got thinking... what about a MF version? So I got to LDD and cracked on with designing it, and revelled in the fact I'd need to make more of the lil guys to go in it. I had a few aims: Include Ion cannon somehow piloted by a minfig. Include Shield Generator. Include fallen over AT-AT (includes 2) Include rebel trench Include the little rebel laser turrets Include rebel base doors that can open and close. I finally managed to take some decent pictures of it this morning so, figured it was now worthy of posting here! *edit* I am also aware that I literally built the body of the AT-AT backwards... the front should be shorter and the rear should be longer... Im slowly working on reversing it... but it isn't a high priority seeing as I have 4 of them wrong lol... 2. After building and lurking in the various Bionicle communities since day 1 of the theme, I decided to start posting some of the stupid things I build. You can find larger pictures on my Flickr stream. Enjoy! "A deranged old Turaga who devoted his life to herding rams. Occasionally he rambles incoherently about some great escape that almost cost him his arm." "A not-so-bright looking ram with suspicious face paint."
  3. Hi everyone, This is my first post in the in this forum (usually I'm in Historic or Action & Adventure). As a kid, I was a big Bionicle fan, but my interest in the theme subsided over the years. However, when I saw renders the Mask of Creation, I knew I had to pick it up. I bought it loose via B&P several months ago and now I've made a decent display pedestal for it: I think I may have seen similar mask pedestals, but I'm not sure. This design is easy to build and customize, I could easily swap out some parts and fit on a different mask. I'm planning on doing this for the Mask of Control, once I get it. This build consists of only 30 pieces and has a straight-forward construction. Inside, the big black wheels are connected with a 3-long pin in the middle and the hexagonal top part is secured with two 1x1 bricks on connector pegs, one on either side of the central pin hole. Thanks for looking! C&C always appreciated!
  4. Notes on the figure itself: I do not have a ton of Bionicle parts to work with, but I am happy with what I was able to make. :) I tried my best to build her around her character traits. She is suppose to be young and childish. So I made her torso short, gave her smaller feet, narrower shoulders and chose Kopaka's mask because it was the least threatening mask I had in white. She was originally to be white with green highlights, but that just didn't turn out how I wanted. So I went with my second choice, blue. The peg on her back is to hold her sword. Bio: Toa Makanii was once a mere scholar, learning all she could about the universe, but with the reunification of Spherus Magna and the arrival of new threats, a new breed of Toa had to be created. One that could not only fight, but learn, and adapt. Makanii was chosen not only because of her enthusiasm for learning, but also for her compassion. A necessary tool in showing the Agori that the Matoran peoples have come with only good intentions. But Makanii's outward joy and enthusiasm masks her deep seated fear that she will not be able to live up to both the Legends of old and Mata Nui's expectations. Weapons: Toa Makanii is armed with a duel-sided sword and a disc launcher. Mask: Toa Makanii wears a great Mask of Clairvoyance, in the shape of an Akaku, to pay homage to the late Kopaka. Abilities: Toa Makanii is not very agile or strong, but she possesses great mental powers. She is able to control the minds of weaker-minded beings and is also capable of subtly influencing others by planting thoughts into their heads. However, this is very exhausting on her, and she cannot do this for long.
  5. Once we arrived in Avalonia I joined myself to a body of Avalonians and began at once to scout out the position of the drow and try to find out what they were doing. One day, about a week after we stared, I noticed that one of the men appeared to be missing. A few hours later he came running into the camp were we had stopped for the day without his horse and obviously extremely excited. “Sir,” he exclaimed, “we have finally found them!” “I suppose that explains why you did not arrive here at the same time as the rest?” I questioned dryly. This seemed to put slightly him out of ease, and he shifted about before answering. “Well sir, you know that I was told to follow you at a little distance and make sure the drow were not following us. Anyhow after a while – ahem – I, well, I fell behind a bit,” and seeing that I was going to question him he quickly added “Never mind why.” I was not positive, but I had a very shrewd guess as to what had happened. “And?” “After extracting myself from that ridiculous saddle I proceeded to attempt to clean myself off a little when I heard someone else coming down the road. Knowing that in these days it is always well to remain concealed, I hastily hid, after disposing of the saddle. In a few seconds a couple of figures came along, one a Drow and the other apparently a Varlyrian. ‘You know,’ quoth the Varlyrian, ‘I do think I rather uncivilized of you all to try to simply overwhelm you enemies by sheer numbers. Strategy, my friend: that is the way to proceed.’ “As his comrade did not seem to disapprove he continued, ‘For example that fortress on the hill over there that we were reconnoitering,’ and he point up toward a fork in the road, ‘I know that you could just through five thousand Drow at it, lose half, and take the castle, but you could save almost all of them by using a little stratagem. Listen carefully. We shall only – Ahhh!’ and at that he tumbled into the mud puddle, as he had not been paying the slightest attention where he was going. After his friend had dragged him out he exclaimed suspiciously, ‘Someone has been mucking around in this.’ ‘Besides you?’ laughed his companion. ‘Never mind,’ he said testily, ‘As I was saying, we shall only use a small force to entice the defenders out of the castle. The rest of the men shall lie in ambush behind, and when they come out, the ambush can enter the fortress and help the other force destroy those who have sallied out. Only one thing, mind you, I shall be going with the ambush, not with the small force that will in all probability be annihilated. Still it will be far better than losing a few thousand troops.’ And they proceeded to walk on, while I came here as fast as possible.” “Thank you for the information. And now you will go find your horse sir. Once you have found it come back to me and I will give you a message for Lord Simon. Just don’t be falling into mud puddles with it if you please.” - Sir Douglass Winzer I would like to recieve UoP credit for Landscape Design: trees (1) C&C are welcome!

This Toa Fortress was invaded by Frostelus and the stone was stolen by the Piraka in the confusion, as the Toa team that guarded it died (except for some loser who went on to... *script-checking noises* set the stage for 6 of the world's most important heroes). *cue mlg sad music* But what if Frostelus never attacked and Makoki Stone guard team never died? Well in this universe, the Brotherhood of Makuta still wanted the Makoki Stone badly, so they hired a team of Toa mercenaries to defeat the Makoki Stone guard team and gather the stone, and thus began the Toa Civil War. The Order of Mata Nui stepped in and hired a team of Toa mercenaries themselves to help the Makoki Stone guard team combat the Brotherhood's team. When they did well enough on their own, the original Makoki Stone guard team was disbanded and the members went to various other locations. As the battles escalated, the Dark Hunters saw profit in this and secretly offered both the Brotherhood and the Order help, thus effectively managing both sides of the war. The Dark Hunters sold both sides cutting-edge weaponry, Kanohi, armor (color-coded for the Dark Hunters' convenience) and information on the other team's moves. Thus the story brings us to our star for today: the Order of Mata Nui's team's doctor, a Toa of Plasma who simply calls himself "Medic". Only select members of the Order know his real name. His weapon was designed by himself and built by the team's engineer (who also calls himself "Engineer"). It is a modified fire hose from Ta-Metru's forges that shoots a beam of elemental energy that binds together its target's mechanisms and makes them run better than usual, thus repairing any damage. When it's used, it builds up charge (that the Medic calls "Übercharge" that, when activated, makes its target (and the weapon's user) invulnerable for around eight seconds. It also has different settings for different effects, such as one that enhances its target's vision, accuracy and reflexes to the point where they can consistently land practically flawless hits and one similar to the base setting but sacrifices invulnerability for low passive damage resistance (which jumps to very high when Übercharged) and much faster charging. He wears a noble Hau that glows when he Übercharges someone. Not much is known about the Medic's past as a Su-Matoran, other than he was his town's doctor and made groundbreaking discoveries in repair, when his patients survived. Now as a Toa with access to the Order of Mata Nui and the Dark Hunters' vast armories and workshops he has much more healing potential, but he seems to view healing as a side effect of conducting his dangerous experiments out of curiosity. One can tell his maniacal laugh is not for discovering a quicker way to repair damage from a minigun. Anywho, without further ado, meet the Medic!

Vahi, the Protector of Time, who used to guard the legendary Mask of Time found a suit of armor from a past time which granted him immense power. He dubbed it, "Tengen Toppa Goruden Toa" which means "Heaven-Piercing Golden Warrior" in the ancient Okotese language. He has since left the Mask of Time in the hands of other Protectors and left Okoto to pierce his fate and save a universe trapped in an endless cycle of violence. His last words to the Protector of Fire, who questioned his decision were, "Of course I must leave! Who the Karzahni do you think I am? Mine are the spear, flamethrower and blaster that will pierce the heavens and fined the mythical being Mata Nui. Farewell, brother. Do not believe in the Vahi that believes in you, or the you that believes in Vahi, but the you that believes in you." After that, the other Protectors never saw Vahi again, though they can sometimes hear the sound his finishing move, Giga Spear Slash.
  8. I encourage you to click the photos to view them in better quality! Or if you'd rather, here is the gallery. I don't have a great stories for these guys, but here is the short one I wrote for BrickFair: The beast Razulin protects rogue villager Saka on her journeys. They became a team when Razulin saved Saka from an attack on her village, before she was killed. Razulin is meant to resemble a cat/panther. Based on feedback from my previous cat, Mayazakt, I gave Razulin a much thicker/longer tail. This MoC is already packaged up, but I appreciate feedback for future similar creations! There are also some more photos in the Brickshelf gallery.
  9. I've been looking around for my next loco to tackle, and I've run into a bit of a problem. What ever I model, I want it to be from the Southern Railway, but the vast majority of the nice looking and/or recognisable ones suffer from the same problem, large wheel arches. There *are* a few Bulleids I could do, but seeing as I'd inevitably just copy the rather nice ones someone else has done, I'd like to do my own thing first (I know I'll break down and build at least one eventually). So, do any of you guys have any techniques for dealing with arches too big to get away with slightly undersized wheels/slightly too high footplates?

Thus the story brings us to our star for today: the Order of Mata Nui's team's pyromaniac, a Toa of Fire that doesn't really call himself anything (in fact he never says anything at all, we don't know if he's even a he or even a Toa of Fire, we just assume that too!) but others call him "Pyro". He wields an Order-issued Flamethrower that can store air in the tank and burst it out at the target to blow them away. Pyro doesn't have a proper Kanohi, just a powerless makeshift mask similar to Hydraxon's. In a mad quest for knowledge driven by curiosity, we used an experimental mind-reading machine that the Order had laying around to see inside Pyro's memories. What we saw was a bit strange, we think the machine malfunctioned. We saw a colorful land full of rainbows and unicorns where Pyro was shooting strange baby-like Toa with rainbows, bubbles and lollipops. It's a bit strange, so we'll discard that. Without further ado, meet the Pyro!
