Welcome to my Museum of Civilization. I wanted a place for all of my historical CMFs and thought a museum would be the best place. The former Canadian Museum of Civilization (now the Canadian Museum of History) is one of my favourite museums that had great displays that included people in costume. The ground floor has a First Nations exhibit with totem pole, and indigenous peoples from Central and South American as well as the Pacific Islands. On the other side of this level is a dinosaur display and although technically not part of civilization it is a nod to the Canadian Museum of Nature dinosaur exhibit. The dinosaur in the front hall reminds me of Sue at the Field Museum in Chicago. The second floor includes dioramas from Japan (with my rendition of the famous “The Great Wave Off Kanagawa” wood block print), historical Europe, and the Middle East. The top floor houses the ancient Greek, Roman and Egyptian civilizations and a gem display. I had made a previous MOC that I was not happy with, so I thought I would enlarge it on a 48x48 stud plate. This allowed for a more open and detailed interior. You can see a few more pictures on my flickr page. Hope you enjoy. 20160211_100217 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160211_100237 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160210_144106 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160207_115721 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160211_100424 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160211_095521 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160207_115239 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160211_095545 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160210_135546 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160210_135811 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160210_135303 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160210_135518 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160210_135222 by Karen Metz, on Flickr 20160211_095744 by Karen Metz, on Flickr

With all the speculation going on in the Modular rumors thread, one thing that keeps popping up is a museum. Which I agree would be a very good modular. Egyptian, etc had all been done though, and one day I was staring at my Advent Calendar bits and bobs when the idea hit me - why not do a Star Wars themed museum? I had the further 'brilliant' idea of basing the idea on the Museum of Natural History building in NYC, which looks something like this. Enough backstory, presenting... The Rebel Alliance on one side, and the Galactic Empire on the other, with Yoda welcoming visitors and the Death Star looming over everything. Front Door. Birds' eye view of the ground floor. The Rebel half - Millennium Falcon, and you can't really make them out but that's Han and Leia The Empire half - Star Destroyer and a mini Imperial shuttle Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader. The Emperor is not pleased... Han Solo hanging in Carbonite on the way upstairs Upstairs, the Rebel half These are not the droids you are looking for.. It's a trap! X-Wing and pilot Tie Fighter and pilot AT-AT, Snowtrooper and Darth Maul Somewhat out of place in between the Grand Emporium and the Green Grocer. It needs a town square of its own to lord over. [Apologies for somewhat out of focus photos. I didn't quite realize how hard it would be to photograph inside the walls once everything was up. And of course I was too lazy to take down some walls just to take photos..] Comments and critiques welcome please. Always looking to improve!

Catwoman and Penguin rush to the Ruby in hope to not be caught. Penguin: Hurry up and do your thing Catwoman: Alright, alright Catwoman used her claws to cut open the glass protecting the ruby as Penguin loaded a gun and pointed it at Catwoman. Penguin: Hands off kitty cat! Suddenly Penguins goons and a guard under Penguin's payroll entered the rob aiming there guns at Catwoman Catwoman: Well looks like i have been set up, your not the only one. Penguin: Ah? Just as the guard loaded his pistol Batman came flying threw the window and kicked the guard in the face as he was coming in for a landing. Penguin opened fire on Catwoman just as she retaliated and used her whip to take Penguin's pistol off him. Batman then jumped to one of the goons that tried to shoot him with his shotgun. He was to slow and was knocked out by Batman, then he proceeded by throwing a Batarang at the second goon. Penguin had seen what has happened and on his back tried to crawl away just to be kicked by Batman. Batman: Its over Cobblepot! Penguin: Arrrh! Catwoman: This should be enough to put him away for good So i combined my desire to make more Dioramas and to make one more story. I think in the future i will do more Comic/Game related stuff in the future instead.

Noodle Shop and Downtown Museum As my Oriental district expands in my city I decided I need to build a Noodle Shop, but a 32-wide version seemed to be too large and what I really wanted was a narrow hole-in-the-wall kind of place that looked like it had been there forever so to fill in the rest of the baseplate I added a Downtown Museum. Here's a shot of the facade. And a close up of the sign - complete with two chop sticks and a scrumptious piece of Tofu (Yummy!) There are wall mounted cooking utensils and pots, a single stove, sink, fridge and food containers together with standing tables along both walls. In the Museum there is an eclectic mix of artifacts from a number of eras and Lego themes. And one of the display cabinet contains an "Evolution of the Hand" exhibit One final interior shot Thanks for reading! Comments, criticism and ridicule most welcome!

Catwoman Museum Heist Catwoman and her crew break into Gotham Museum, but are soon surprised (Ok maybe not that surprised) to discover their plot is about to be foiled by the Dark Knight. I really like this creation. It’s a great museum, packed full of details (And lights!), and it works perfectly for a Catwoman scene. To see more of my photos or my Flickr, click the pictures. Hi everyone, This is my first time posting an MOC. I decided to build a Lego Museum with the inspiration from the Lego City Museum Set. This is a 32x32 modular. Sorry for my lousy photography and pardon my sometimes amatuerish building techniques as i had to make do with what i had (a lot of times i had to forgo ideas through a lack of parts which partly explains why the 2nd and 3rd floors are tileless...) Hope you enjoy my work. Indiana Jones: "Thanks Marion for sending me to the Museum...lots of work to be done" Indiana Jones: "I will see you later babe" Time to get to work Why am i the only one here today? Alot of bling here...wonder if i could get my hands on that bowl...could put my goldfish in it.. Ancient Soldier Statues...never really liked them.. Good thing i didnt steal that bowl, let me have a word with the security on whats up the second floor.. But before that let me check around the back...nothing much to see here..hmm. Up we go to the second floor.... what? a secuirity cam in the 1920s??? oh and that horse head looks weird.. Now we are talking.... the main attraction...thats the painting that is worth 100 million? you gotta be kidding..i can paint better than that.. Its tiring work, time to take a break...oh look there is a feedback box next to my bench... Ah, the classic mummy and his scorpion friend...seen to many of these in my expeditions.. Time to find the curator's office...wow he sure has one big office... Let me try his grand piano even though i cant play for nuts ok time to find out more from the man.. Help myself to some of his alcohol..always good... oh and what a view he has from his private balcony.. Let me check out the roof (with the kind permission of the curator of course) and i found a friend.... I need to make sure before i leave that i can find a way back in tonight... wow suddenly it became crowded but lovely Marion is still waiting for me :)

Hello everyone :) I recently completed this MOC, which is, as the title says, a WWII museum. On the left side you can see a variety of helmets and weapons (Purchased from Brickmania). In the corner there is a mini diorama that represents the battle of the bulge with two German soldiers outfitted with Winter camouflage. Two British and American soldiers (manikins) can be seen on display at the right side of the MOC. As a center display, I decided to put a willy's jeep. Anything you like or don't like? Please let me know, I am all for constructive criticism :) Thank you, Luckypat
