  4. Is this set just a minifig-pack or something more? The answer is here… Set Name: Batman: The Penguin Face Off Set Number: 76010 Theme: Lego DC Comics Super Heroes Pieces: 136 Minifigures: 2 Year of Release: 2014 Price at Release: $12.99 USD Watch the video? YouTube video LEGO.com Description Help Scuba Batman™ defeat The Penguin in a battle on the water! The Penguin has stolen a priceless diamond and has two of his robot penguins guarding it. Help Scuba Batman™ to sweep in on his speedy scuba vehicle and get it from their grasp before The Penguin can attack with his crazy duck boat. Both cool vehicles are armed with 2 flick missiles, so if you need to shoot your way out of a tough corner, you have the firepower to do it! Includes Scuba Batman and The Penguin minifigures with weapon and assorted accessories. ◾Includes exclusive Scuba Batman™ and The Penguin minifigures with weapon and assorted accessories ◾Features Batman’s scuba vehicle and The Penguin’s duck boat, both with 2 flick missiles ◾Includes a harpoon, umbrella and dynamite ◾Dodge the robot penguins ◾Speed in and grab the diamond ◾Fire the flick missiles and send The Penguin waddling home ◾Batman’s scuba vehicle measures over 1” (4cm) high, 4” (12cm) long and 1” (5cm) wide ◾Duck measures over 1” (4cm) high, 2” (6cm) long and 1” (4cm) wide Brickset Bricklink The Box The front of the box has an illustration of Batman in his orginal suit in the top right corner like the other sets. The boxart shows Batman battling The Penguin. It also got the Batman symbol and the DC Comics symbols at the bottom. The back of the box is mostly green. It doesn't go well with Batman. It shows an alternate action shot and all the play features. The sides of the box shows the DC Comics Super Heroes logo and also the same illustration as the front of the box. On the top of the box features Batman in his Scuba Suit as the 1:1 figure. It also shows the name of the set in different languages. Contents Inside the box you'll find an instruction booklet and three unnumbered bags. Surprisingly, they do not include a comic nor a sticker sheet in this set. It’s uncommon to see super heroes sets without the comic and sticker sheet nowadays. The Instructions The instructions have a green background (as all of the 2014 DC Comics sets do so). It’s quite straight forward and easy to follow for young kids. There are a few ads for The LEGO Movie , DC and the LEGO Club in here. Also, there isn’t the DC minifigures lineup picture, for some reason. These appear at the end of the instructions. Interesting Pieces These are the interesting pieces in this set. The gun for Batman is new to me. It’s also nice to get the 1x1 round tile piece with the eye printing on it. The grey short legs is also new to me. Note that the piece on the upper right corner is printed, not a sticker. Minifigures The minifigures are the main selling point of this set as they are all new and exclusive. First of all is Scuba Batman. Here is a reference image for him from the comics. Batman comes in a new, mostly dark blue suit that is supposed to give him the ability to dive. I personally like this figure a lot. Here is the back view of Scuba Batman, with his air tanks on for him to breath underwater. Nothing really interesting. Here is a look of him with all his gears taken off. You can see the front torso printing much clearer. Interestingly, unlike the other Batmans LEGO has made, this one has a unique face. The first face is actually the same print as the others, but this one is on a black minifig head. Here is a look at the back of him without the air tank and mask. You can see his full backprinting and his second face. It’s interesting. At last, this is the view of him withal his gear on. His got a nice gun. You can also see what he looks like with his second face. I prefer the first face better. Next, it’s the Penguin. Here is a reference image for him from the comics. This one is different from the previous one. The biggest difference is that he now has a big coat on. It looks pretty good and I really wanted to have this fig since the pictures have come out. Here is a look of him from the back. You can see the back backprinting. Here is him with all his accessories taken off. You can see the front torso printing clearly in this picture. The Build First of all is Batman’s scuba vehicle. Here is a front view of Batman’s scuba vehicle. Again, the bat symbol on it is printed on the brick, not a sticker. Here are the side views of the boat. You’ve got flick fire missiles at both of the sides of the boat. Here is the back view of the boat. Nothing special at all. There’s a clip here where you can keep Batman’s gun there. Here is a look of the first part of the boat. This is what it looks from the top. This is what it looks with Batman riding it. Next, it’s The Penguin’s duck boat, it’s kind of annoying for The Penguin to have a duck vehicle instead of a penguin vehicle. Here’s the front view, nothing special. Here are the sides of the boat. It really looks like a duck at this angle. This also get flick fires. Here is the back with the rotor of the boat. Nothing special. Here’s what it looks like with The Penguin in it. Then, it’s the robot penguins. Here is a front view of them. They’ve got dynamite of their hands, orange feet and a yellow beak. Here’s the sides of them, you can see they only has one wing each, the another hand is just a simple clip. Here is the back of them. The 1x1 cheese slope pieces are the tails of them, I suppose. Lastly, it’s a block of ice. Noting too special except the translucent light blue diamond. The Complete Set Here’s the complete set. I think it fits together nicely. You get cool vehicles for Batman and The Penguin and two exclusive figures. I think it worth the money as a thirteen-dollar set. Ratings Design: 5/5 - I love the duck boat. It's so cute. It looks like a duck. It's my favorite penguin vehicle in this line so far (because we’ve only got one penguin vehicle!). Build: 5/5 - The build is quite satisfying. Plus, there’s no stickers to put on! Minifigs: 5/5 - The minifigs are pretty good. Scuba Batman looks great. The Penguin looks pretty good in his coat style suit. Playability: 3.5/5 – There’s actually not much play features in this set, except for the flick missiles. I’d like to see the block of ice exploding like in the Artic Batman set last year. Price: 4/5 - 136 pieces is a decent amount for a $13 set, especially a licensed one. Overall: 4.5/5 - This set is a good value. It gives you one of Batman's in one of his special suits, a new Penguin. It's a good buy for Batman fans of all ages.

  8. With the final challenge for the first chapter of GoH finished, I'm curious how many GoH members plan to continue to actively participate in GoH. Edit: I divied up those who responded with a positive yes into their respective guilds. I know that there are a few who plan to continue and have not voted due to various reasons. I'm quite happy to see continued (and for some the new) interest in GoH. 11. Hey y'all! I know there is a topic for this, but it has gotten quite old and dusty there. So, I'm re-vamping it, all the way up to Series 10! Just let me know if I miss anything. I am going by the last one's criteria, which basically means that I am counting the Skater's hair. I also didn't count any fabric parts. 3,2,1 VOTE and DISCUSS!!!!! Also, I voted for Ponytail, Trophy, Short Beard, Paintbrush, Axe, Genie Lamp, Medal, Fairy Wings, Bandanna Hair, and Trend Hair.

  13. I don't know it it's been asked, but I thought it'd be interesting to see what the Sci-fi community here thought of the different colour schemes from Blacktron I and Blacktron II. Which generation of the faction had a superior colour scheme? Do you prefer Blacktron 1's wasp-y colour palate of Black and yellow, in juxtaposition to trans-yellow "glass" and trans-red blasters or lights? Or do you prefer Blacktron Next Generation's palate of White, Black, and the spaced-out trans neon green for glass and blasters? Furthermore, what are your thoughts in regards to the addition of lime green in neo-blacktron Mocs? Yay or nay? I'm planning on doing something with Blacktron in the near future, and I was curious to see what others thought of the colour palates. ~Insectoid Aristocrat
  14. I cannot officially create a poll b/c I have less than 500 posts, but if an admin feel so inclined this one might be a fun one. I saw this comic the other day and thought that I would just share. lol.... I liked this. We as LEGO fans are likely all very passionate about our hobby. But, not sure that categorizes us ALL as geeks. I am not sure what I am, but as with all scales like this, there is some error. I'm gonna go ahead with nerd (my username, after all... is nerds.. for... prez (president). Although involved in academia in the past (practicing doctor now), I think that ship has sailed, so not really sure if geek applies as much as my passion for my hobbies. I have to admit, I was not aware of the distinction between a nerd, geek and dork until now, and other than IMO it being funny, don't really care about the distinction, so..... I don't think dork really applies either (my wife would disagree. She would think that I am all three). Therefore.... I surmise (see that academic term there... ) that I am a nerd. I think nerds rock....... and if one were to run for president of the world I would vote for him/her. One that is passionate for his/her hobbies has to have a passion for life... right? Which are you? Nerd? Geek? Dork? All of the above? Again.... if someone wants to make this into a poll I think it might be fun.
  15. Thank you all for your patience. I've had a lot of real life events keeping me from posting this. And let me tell you, it was hard to narrow it down to the final entries that you all get to vote on. For all of you whose entries did not make it, it wasn't because your entry wasn't good. I thought all the battle packs were incredible and showed hard work on your part. Thank you for getting involved. Voting is now open! Each picture is a link to the original thread. Please go to each thread before voting as there are more pictures from the members that may help you make a better choice. Please vote for your two favorite entries by listing the numbers. For example: Only those who were members before the contest ended on June 1st can vote. If you were not a member before June 1st then you can't vote. This is to prevent accounts being created for voting. You must vote for two entries, you cannot only vote for one. The two entries with the most votes will win the prize: Endor Rebel Trooper & Imperial Trooper Battle Pack. Some members have more than one entry you can vote for. As a member can only win one of the two prizes, if a member gets the most votes for both of their entries the 2nd prize will go to the 3rd place member. You cannot vote for your own entry! Voting will close at the end of the day on the 24th of June. As long as it is still the 24th somewhere in the world, you can still vote. Votes cast after that hour will not be accepted. 1.
