. "Sir, the freighter has not responded, it seems that their communications are jammed." "No worries lieutenant, we should be arriving just in time to counter the Rebel strike." "Commander, their thrusters are down, so as their comms array, we should be boarding it any time by now." "We certainly should, because it seems that we are about to have company." I allowed the computer carrying the plans of the new Death Star to fall into Rebel hands on your advice, you'd better be right. "Rest assured, your highness. Their struggle will be good enough to convince them that their prize is genuine. Once the Rebels find out what I have given them, their trust in me will be complete. I will do what Vader cannot, deliver the Rebels to you to crush at your pleasure, my Emperor." Building objectives: Both factions must send troops into the Suprosa frigate through the coordination of a high ranked player who will appear in a build briefing or giving an inspirational speech to his/her troops (in the safety of a cruiser, never fighting on the Suprosa). The briefing build must feature all the sig-figs of the players under the higher ranked player's command (the more players it includes, the bigger the vignette will have to be). If a player's sig-fig is not included, that player may not be able to post his/her entry. Each set of troops will also have a second in the command. The second in command (which could be in the same rank as its main commander) will build a creation that features at least two sig-figs and will have them boarding a landing vehicle or being deployed (piloting the vehicle or just saying "go, go, go!" [you know what I mean]. This also can be done by a pilot of any rank). The remaining players will build inside the frigate doing what they are "commanded" (they will communicate with their commander what they want to build and the commander will give the "order" in the description of his/her vignette). For those building within the Suprosa: Imperials will have to block the way of the Rebels heading to the computer and fight them within the hallways of the ship. Rebels will have to clear the debris and breach the doors blocking their way to the computer and slice any computer terminal on-board. All the while fighting any resistance. As it is in a real war, the only troops that will count as effective personnel (and the points that will accumulate for the teams) will be the ground troops (not the commander nor the second in command). The team with the most boots on the ground will be the winner, this will encourage the players to communicate and team up in order to participate. Remember: there can be more than one assault team per faction, but the more teams you send the fewer troops you will have in the ground which will also reduce the chances of your faction earning some of the additional points that can turn the tide of the conflict. Episode Specific Rules: Both factions will try to head on board of the wrecked ship to salvage/secure any useful data by building a vignette depicting their character slicing computer terminals, building barricades, placing turrets and defensive positions or fighting any resistance they find on their way, but to do so they have to be coordinated by a commander and be transported by a landing craft piloted by the second in command. The victorious faction will be decided by who has deployed the most troops on board the Suprosa, in combination with some additional points that will be awarded for the best builds (see section below). Remember that the neither the commander nor the second-in-command-pilot will gain points for their faction (with the exception if they actually build the best creation in their respective category) The Empire's goal and the Alliance's goal is to depict their character doing one of the three tasks assigned (commanding, transporting or searching/fighting on board of the Suprosa). Remember to make your story appropriate for your rank and coordinate to deploy the most troops with a single ride. There can be more than one assault team per faction, but the more teams you send the fewer troops you will have on the ground and this will also reduce the chances of your faction earning some of the additional points that can turn the tide of the conflict. There are no restrictions on the size for the builds of regular troops but they must feature the chambers and corridors of a space cruiser being assaulted in the inside. The commander (the player with the highest XP on each assault team) has to fit all of the sig-figs of the troops under his/her command on board of a friendly cruiser and must extend his/her creation 5 studs in length and width per player, including the player himself in the scene or bigger (e.g.: if it features the commander, the second in command and another player the creation will have to be at least 15x15 but if it features 6 other regular troops it will have to be 40X40). The second in command (a player with equal to lower XP than the commander) must feature a carrier vehiclewith at least two other sig-figs and room for everybody else (if you cant complete or dont have all the parts to assemble one or more of the sig figs under your command you can improvise a little bit but it must retain some resemblance and you have to mention which players are joining with you). Commander, the more players you feature in your creation, the more soldiers can board the ship but you will also have to go wider on your creation. The "commanded" players will say to their commander via PM what they want to build and the commander will "give the order" in the description of its vignette. And just to make it clearer, there will be three type of builds: Commander: "gives" the orders (after the players of its assault team expose their idea and what they want to build via PM or any other way) in the safety of their cruiser, his build must feature all the sig-figs of the players on its assault team, including the second in command, and will have to be larger with the addition of every player, he also has to have the highest rank of the assault team (there can be multiple teams). Second in command: he can have the same rank/XP as the commander or be a pilot of any rank, his mission is to transport the assault team to the battlefield and must feature a landing craft or troop transport large enough to carry all the players and featuring at least two other sig-figs of the soldiers being deployed (you can also build an environment around the ship). Troopers: none of the previously mentioned builds will count as score points for the episode (yet they will earn XP and compete for the extra score points for the faction just like everybody else) but they are needed in order to deploy the troopers which will be counted as score points, they have no size restrictions. If they are not featured on their commanders build they will not be able to deploy. Additional score points will be awarded to the faction that has: The most inspiring commander speech or the most detailed/strategic debriefing (most awesome commander build of course) The most combat effective transport (the coolest ship) The most prominent fighter (best regular troop build) And most importantly, the best organized players (which means that every player completes the task assigned to them and those tasks actually make sense while the builds share common aesthetics or elements that can tie them visually or have an actual progression) with one additional score point per each player involved in this specific operation. Note: additional points will only count as score point for the game and will not be related to the XP awarded. The Rules: All rules in the Core Rules topic apply unless otherwise stated in this explanation. The Episode will run from October 20th to November 30th. As long as it is still November 30th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified from the episode and will not be eligible to receive points or XP. No exceptions will be made this time. We mean it. Really! Entries will be judged according to the Core Rules: Your build will be scored in two stages, to make it easier on the judges by lessening the number of builds that must be scored in greater detail: In the first stage, the judges will award a score from 1-10, with a '1' being "Minifig on a Plate", a '5' being "Your Average MOC" and a '10' being "Flawless Concept and Execution". In the second stage, the top five builds of each faction (so ten in total) from the first stage will be scored based on basic predetermined criteria: up to 10 points for the concept and appropriateness to the objective, up to 25 points for your execution of the build, and up to 5 points for your presentation of the entry. For builders who make it to the second stage, their second stage total is added to their first stage points, and that total is divided by two and a half. You can earn a maximum of 20 points in each episode. [*]The amount of points you earn is also the amount of XP your character earns. [*]This episode/contest is open to all players of Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka, even if they joined EB or signed up for the game after the episode has begun, with the exception of the Star Wars staff, who are not eligible to win XP or prizes; the EB admins and moderators, who are not eligible to win prizes but may earn XP; and the episode host, who is not eligible to win prizes but may earn XP. [*]All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to being entered in the episode. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. [*]All entries must be built from real LEGO or with Lego Digital Designer. No clone brands, no third-party custom parts. [*]All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Nar Eurbrikka subforum, the title prefixed by, "[soNE Ep. X]". (For example, "[soNE Ep. X] Bantha fodder".) [*]Post pictures no larger than 1000x720, as specified in the EB Member Guidelines. [*]You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on one picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited. [*]All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. [*]Since the battle takes place in deep space, no worlds are being contested in this episode. The Prizes: The winning faction will earn a this tag and be praised by its commanders back in their respective home base. The player who receives the most total individual points, regardless of team, is guaranteed a spot among the next set of the blog's Showcased MOCs. (This member must still be able to provide a picture big enough and of suitable quality to be used in the Showcased banner.) You will receive XP equal to the number of points you are awarded from the judges independently of what you have earned from the game for your faction. Thanks to the generosity of RoyalBrickCustoms (link), we will be able to give away some unique SoNE-themed cloth minifig accessories. The player with the most XP earned in this episode on every faction will receive a pack. Furthermore, there will also be a separate sponsor's choice award for the person RoyalBrickCustoms thinks has incorporated the theme best. (Details subject to change)

Senator Lycani, my old friend, it's been a long time since we served on Coruscant together. Thank you for agreeing to see me even though I know it is at great risk to yourself to be seen with a known rebel. There are some things worth risking much for, your friendship is one of them. Now, what can I do for you? As you may have heard, we recently came to acquire a super computer. We smuggled it onto the surface in a transport load of fertilizer. We need the help of some of your best people to crack it, and afterwards you can use the fertilizer as you see fit for your estate. As you know, all of our technicians work in the rings around our planet. That is good news for you because it means there are very few Imperials troops stationed planet-side. They consider the shipyards around the planet of greater value than the farms on it. Your people and the computer should be safe here. However, it also means to find the kind of help you need you'll have to venture up into the rings. I can give you the names of some people I would recommend, but you'll have to get past the Imperials on your own. Thank you, your help means more than I can say. Have you seen any suspicious activity? No, and we've been searching all day! The Rebels Can't be here. Can't we be done yet? I don't like this place and I'm pretty sure that scaremynok is looking at me! Uh-oh, it looks like the Empire knows we're here! I heard you might be able to help me with a special job. Perhaps, but let's not talk about it hear. Too many ears Building objectives: A small note in advance: this episode has no special rules. Each player can only submit one entry. That entry should depict your character trying to achieve one of the following objectives. All entries will be regarded as usual, independent of which category they follow. So choosing which category to build in can be done freely, without any tactical considerations. Just choose what is most interesting to you. If you are a Rebel... Your build should represent your character being involved in ...: Cracking the Super-computer Recruiting technicians from the rings Hiding on the planet's surface If you are an Imperial... Your build should represent your character being involved in ...: Searching the planet's surface for Rebels Searching the rings for Rebels Interogating any captured Rebels These are not exhaustive lists so something different that still fulfills the spirit of the contest is allowed. The Prizes: From the Core Rules: Your faction will receive points based on two factors: Points: The average number of points per builder. Builders: Two points for each builder. [*]These two totals are added to each other, and the faction with the higher total is the winner. [*]All the players on the winning faction will receive this tag to commemorate their victory. You can only have one of these tags or one of the Community Build tags at a time, but a log will be kept of all the tags you've earned in your profile in the Characters topic. [*]The player who receives the most total individual points, regardless of team, is guaranteed a spot among the next set of the blog's Showcased MOCs. (This member must still be able to provide a picture big enough and of suitable quality to be used in the Showcased banner.) Rebels Rebel Soldier: Sir, we have some important information the intelligence agents have decrypted from the data given us by the Bothans. Rebel Leader: Have you decrypted all of the information already? Rebel Soldier: No, but some of the information we have been able to decipher gives us the flight plan for Boba Fett after he left Cloud City. Rebel Leader: Holy flying alphabet letters! This could mean the recovery of Han Solo! We must get some of our men on this right away! Rebel Soldier: Yes, sir! But sir? What if Boba Fett isn't on any of the planets on the flight plan? He could have changed it or the data we have might be inaccurate. Rebel Leader: The information we got from the Bothan’s is 100% accurate! Didn’t you hear that many of them died to get us this information? That means Boba Fett has to be on one of these planets. Our men will just have to keep checking to make sure they haven’t missed him. Imperials Imperial Trooper: Sir, I have just received this message from Lord Vader. Captain Erdbeereis: Yes, what does he command? Imperial Trooper: He wants us to deliver his “thank you” card to Boba Fett. Captain Erdbeereis: What! Doesn’t Lord Vader realize that we are an important ship in this fleet and not a currier barge? Imperial Trooper: He also said that we could deliver the card to Boba Fett, or we could deliver it to the Wampas on Hoth. Captain Erdbeereis: Very well, make some copies of Lord Vader’s “thank you” card and get some of our men together for delivery duty. Imperial Trooper: What if they don’t find him right away? Captain Erdbeereis: The more men we have on each planet the more likely we are to run into him. Now, disperse the troops! Unknowingly both the Rebel Alliance and the Empire set out along the same hyperspace routes. The flight plan that Boba Fett filed said he would fly from Bespin to Fondor first, then on to Ord Mantell, next stop by Felucia and refuel at Mon Calamari before heading to Bothawui which was the last planet on his flight plan though not his final destination. "Look Sir! Droids!" "How in the world did you figure out there was a droid here by one tiny piece of metal!? It could have come from a speeder or a Twi'lek Jedi's lightsaber for all we know! And besides, we are looking for Boba Fett, not droids." "Look, a bounty hunter!" "That's not the bounty hunter we're looking for." For ideas of what each planet looks like see the Star Wars Planet Bios. For those looking for a quick answer here is a cheat-sheet: Fondor: Industrial Centers, Factories and Ship Yards Ord Mantell: Junkyards Felucia: Psychedelic Forests Mon Calamari: Water… and More Water Bothawui: Farms and Information Centers Scoring: The winning team will be the team who gets the most points like usual. Though this time there are 2 ways to earn points for your team: 1. Earn points through your entries. You can earn a maximum of 10 points per entry. There will be only 1 round of judging for each entry. All points earned by each participant will count towards their team's overall score. 2. Earn points by being the team with the most troops on the ground. The first player to build on each of the five planets earns 5 points for his/her team. However, whenever the opposing team has more troops on the planet they in turn gain 5 additional points for their team. This is done by having more total entries on a planet than the other team. Points are awarded when the team with fewer entries matches the number of entries of the opposing team, and then builds 1 more. For example, if the Imperials build the first entry on Mon Calamari then they score 5 points and have the most troops on the planet. However, if the Rebels build 2 entries on Mon Calamari before the Imperials build any more, then they have the most troops on the planet and they earn 5 points. This does not cause the Imperials to lose their points. Each team would then have 5 points with the opportunity to earn more. Another example, if the Imperials have 3 builds on Felucia, for the Rebels to have more troops on the planet they have to 4 total entries for Felucia. If they only enter 3 total builds then the Empire has the advantage because they were there first and the Rebels have not earned the 5 points. This then gives the Empire the chance to add more troops by entering more builds to prevent the Rebels from earning the 5 points. There is no limit to the number of times a planet can change hands for which team has the most troops on the ground. Each time a planet changes hands, the points are added onto the existing points for the appropriate team. Points for having the most troops on each planet will be updated often throughout the contest. The Rules: 1. All rules in the Core Rules topic apply unless otherwise stated in this explanation. 2. The Empire's goal is to depict their troops trying to deliver the “thank you” note to Boba Fett or finding out that he has already moved on to a different planet. 3. The Alliance's goal is to depict a scene showing their troops trying to track down Boba Fett and finding out that he has already moved on to a different planet. 4. Each team member will be allowed to enter multiple entries for this contest. The number of entries will depend on your rank. Each player may only enter 1 entry per planet regardless of how many entries they are allowed. For example, someone with 4 allowed entries cannot build all 4 on Fondor. - Players with 0-10 XP: 2 entries - Players with 11-25 XP: 3 entries - Players with 26-50 XP: 4 entries - Players with 51-200 XP: 5 entries 5. There will be a 16x16 base size limitation with allowance for reasonable overhang for each entry. If there are any doubts about what counts as “reasonable” contact one of the SoNE admins. 6. Remember to make your entry appropriate to your rank and goal. For this contest there are some variations from the Core Rules: The judges will award a score from 1-10, with a '1' being "Minifig on a Plate", a '5' being "Your Average MOC" and a '10' being "Flawless Concept and Execution". All entries will add points to their team’s overall score, however, since players are allowed multiple entries, only the two highest scoring entries of each builder will add points to the player's XP count. The amount of points you earn for that entry is also the amount of XP your character earns. Therefore, the most XP a player can earn for himself from this contest is 20 XP. 7. The Episode will run from August 8th to September 24th. As long as it is still Sept 24th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. 8. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified from the episode and will not be eligible to receive points or XP. 9. This episode/contest is open to all players of Shadows of Nar Eurbrikka, even if they joined EB or signed up for the game after the episode has begun, with the exception of the Star Wars staff, who are not eligible to win XP or prizes; the EB admins and moderators, who are not eligible to win prizes but may earn XP; and the episode host, who is not eligible to win prizes but may earn XP. 10. All entries must be new creations, not posted anywhere else prior to being entered in the episode. You may be asked by a staff member to change your entry if it is too similar to an earlier creation. 11. All entries must be built from real LEGO or with Lego Digital Designer. No clone brands, no third-party custom parts. 12. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Watto's Junkyard subforum, the title prefixed by, "[soNE Ep. 6]". (For example, "[soNE Ep. 6] Boba Fett Gets Too Many Thank You Cards".) 13. Post pictures no larger than 1000x720, as specified in the EB Member Guidelines. 14. You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects onone picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited. 15. All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. However, due to the time sensitivity of this contest your entry will be disqualified if the judges deem that you have abused this rule. Improving your build will be allow, entering a “minifig-on-a-plate” to have the most troops on a planet and then improving your entry later to earn more XP will not be tolerated. The Prizes: 1. All the players on the winning team will receive this tag to commemorate their victory (NOTE: this tag is a work in progress and may change). You can only have one of these tags or one of the Community Build tags at a time, but a log will be kept of all the tags you've earned in your profile in the Characters topic. 2. The player who receives the most total individual points, regardless of team, is guaranteed a spot among the next set of the blog's Showcased MOCs. (This member must still be able to provide a picture big enough and of suitable quality to be used in the Showcased banner.) 3. You will receive XP equal to the number of points you are awarded from the judges for your 2 highest entries. 4. Rebels General Madine: “Right chaps, it’s imperative that we find out what the Empire is planning to construct. We cannot allow them to succeed; we must make every attempt to locate and destroy it, whatever it is. General Rieekan: “How are we going to do that, we don’t have the resources to commit to an extensive search? General Madine: “I’ve heard that several Bothans may be sympathetic to the Rebellion, and they’re renowned for their spying abilities, so they would be the perfect for such a mission” General Rieekan: “And how are we supposed to make contact with them, they could be anywhere” General Madine: “I have a few potential leads, we’ll deploy several teams across the galaxy to try and make contact with them” General Rieekan: “Right, I’ll gather any troops that I can find, and brief them” "I don't suppose that you're a Bothan spy by any chance?" Is the shield going to be generated from inside it?” Admiral Piett: “No, that’s going to be far too expensive, so we’ve decided to construct a small & badly protected shield generator on a nearby moon instead” Imperial Officer: “Fair enough, what’s the plan?” Admiral Piett: “I want you to lead a team to survey an area we’ve provisionally identified, and to start construction of both the shield generator and landing platform. Our remote sensing indicates that the moon is devoid of any intelligent, or plausible, life-forms but you have my permission to neutralise anything you encounter that could hinder our progress” "Is it me or did I just see an armed teddy bear?" Imperial Objectives: Your primary aim is to travel to the moon of Endor, as part of a small Imperial team. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or colour (not tint or adjustment, but actual colour) of a LEGO piece is prohibited. All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC.

"This is it, boys. Go to those pod races, find a way to get in the betting circuit, and gamble well. If you don't, make sure the race still follows your bets. Recruit your own racers, sabotage others. Those criminals have a nose for trickery, so cheat well, and you will be noticed. Be secretive and manipulative, and they'll want you to join their ranks. And give them some good betting tips along the way, and you'll make quick progress. So get changed and get tricky!" "Understood, sir!" "And boys, please don't waste our money... Good luck" “Lord Vader has given the operation green light. Our men can prepare to board. And make it clear to them, General, we leave nothing to the odds” “Understood, Captain. I'll make it clear that if we don't succeed in infiltrating the Black Sun and tracking down those Rebels, no amount of luck can save us from Lord Vader” “Keep an eye on them. I don't want them to loose focus and enjoy those races! I, on the other hand will personally go there to oversee the progress of the race. Strictly professional, of course.” Mysterious person: I've always said: "Never tell me the odds". I'll shape them myself. Betting on the outcome: In parallel with the regular building competition, there will be a betting competition. During the entire episode, both factions will try to predict the outcome of the episode by maintaining a ranking (one ranking per faction). Both rankings will contain all Rebel and Imperial players that participated in this episode, and may contain players that did not. When the judges publish their scores of the builds when the episode has ended, each faction gets bonus points according to how well they predicted the outcome. When the players of a faction have agreed on their ranking, bets can be placed in the separate betting thread. A bet has to be in the form "Put <insert player name here> on place <insert place number here>". A ranking will be updated when two individual players of the faction have placed the same bet in name of their faction (in order to prevent abuse from individuals). The betting competition ends at the same time as the building competition. As long as the involved builder hasn't posted his build in the forum yet, the factions are allowed to add him to their ranking or change his position in it. But from the moment he has published his build, that player's name is fixed in the ranking. It can't be added to a ranking if it wasn't in it. Also, its position relative to other fixed names can't be changed. Player names that are still free (belonging to players that haven't posted already) are still free to be moved anywhere. Here are some examples to show what is possible and what's not in the ranking: In the end, each faction will get points based two factors: 1) the quality and quantity of the entries by players of the faction, and 2) the accuracy of the faction's bets. The points for the builds will be awarded as in previous episodes: two points for every builder added to the average number of points per builder. The betting points will be calculated as follows: a faction gets 1 betting point for each "player A > player B" situation they got right. The total betting score will be divided by the best possible score (if the eventual ranking would have been flawlessly predicted). This fraction will be multiplied by 25 (so that the betting points won't outweigh the regular points too much). The resulting betting score is added to the building score. The faction with the highest total wins. The Prizes: All the players on the winning team will receive this tag to commemorate their victory. You can only have one of these tags or one of the Community Build tags at a time, but a log will be kept of all the tags you've earned in your profile in the Characters topic. The player who receives the most total individual points, regardless of team, is guaranteed a spot among the next set of the blog's Showcased MOCs. (This member must still be able to provide a picture big enough and of suitable quality to be used in the Showcased banner.) You will receive XP equal to the number of points you are awarded from the judges. This amount of XP is independent of your betting weight or your ranking in the faction's predictions. Other prizes to be determined The Rules: All rules in the Core Rules topic apply unless otherwise stated in this explanation. Attention: There has been a change in those rules: all players with 100 XP or more are now allowed to have a secondary character, so their main character doesn't have to feature in their build. We hope this encourages further development of character stories. The Empire's goal and the Alliance's goal is to depict their character trying to infiltrate the Black Sun's ranks by recruiting a racer / sabotaging a pod / helping to build a pod / move in the illegal betting circuit / hire Tusken raiders ... However, keep in mind that humans cannot pilot pod racers! There are no restrictions on the size/form/content of the builds, as long as they follow the above described goals. The story should take place on Tatooine. All rules described above and in the betting thread apply to the betting competition. The Episode will run from March 6th to April 17th May 3rd. As long as it is still May 3rd somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified from the episode and will not be eligible to receive points or XP. The SoNE staff can't partake in the betting. [*]All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Watto's Junkyard subforum, the title prefixed by, "[soNE Ep. VIII]". (For example, "[soNE Ep. VIII] Sabotage".) [*]Post pictures no larger than 1000x720, as specified in the EB Member Guidelines. [*]You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects onone picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. [*]All entries are considered WIPs (Works In Progress) until the deadline passes. Until the deadline has passed, you are allowed to change and improve your MOC. However, if you make drastic changes to your build (determined by the judges), The enemy faction will have the opportunity to add you to or move your position in their ranking.

To mark the festive season we felt that Episode III of SoNE should be located in the most suitable planet we could think of. Christmas just isn’t the same without snow and ice, and fortunately Hoth has both in abundant quantities! In addition to the primary objective for each faction we’ve added some additional ones which we hope will make it as fun as possible; your entry can meet one or all of the objectives. Entries can be of any size, and can be constructed using actual LEGO or LDD. You can also decide if you want to include the Wampas in your entry; however they’re unpredictable when cornered and probably best avoided! Imperials Imperial Officer: "Right, it's a bit nippy down here, so let's crack on with trying to find some intelligence" Snowtrooper (Bob): "Can we have a bit of fun as well? I really want to break something!" Snowtrooper (Steve): “And if we're going to be here for Christmas, do you mind if we put up a few decorations to brighten up the place a bit?....." Imperial Officer: "Honestly, whatever next?” (sigh) “OK, you can if you want to, but it must be done in your own time!" Objective for the Imperials: Explore Echo base and search for military intelligence Destroy any remaining equipment to prevent further use Decorate Echo Base Rebels Princess Leia: "I can't believe that you forgot to pack my wardrobe, I insist that we go back for it" Senior Commander: "Well, I suppose we could say it was a mission to recover essential equipment or something....and we could destroy the servers that we left behind at the same time. Yes, that sounds almost plausible...." Princess Leia: "Right, that's sorted. I'll expect to have it back in a couple of days then. I can’t bear to wear white for a moment longer!” Objectives for the Rebels: Recover any useful equipment and armaments that were left behind Destroy the abandoned servers Recover Princess Leia’s (extensive) wardrobe Covertly decorate Echo Base for the resident Imperials as a gesture of seasonal goodwill. Rules From the Core Rules: Your faction will receive points based on two factors: Points: The average number of points per builder. Builders: Two points for each builder. These two totals are added to each other, and the faction with the higher total is the winner. All the players on the winning team will receive this tag to commemorate their victory. “we received a transmission coming from Sollust, it requested reinforcements, it seems that the rebellion is trying to release the political prisoners” “send all available troops near the system to the imperial garrison; those prisoners must not live the planet alive!” “I will inform the men...” “the assault on Sullust has started, our troops have managed to successfully infiltrate the base and disable their defenses, and it won’t take long before the prisoners are liberated” “if they have been detected, it won’t take long before the empire starts sending reinforcements, if we want to save those prisoners we will need to buy our troops some time” “I will get all the help available near the system” “Meanwhile, the rebel forces have been split and scattered across the fortification and both factions struggle to survive by any means necessary”. “if we don’t hurry up this place will be crowded with storm troopers, this may be the last chance for these guys; whatever they know could change the course of the war” Battling Through Sullust: There are 5 positions within the facility, in which both factions will be shown fighting and trying to save the prisoners or stop them from escaping; entries MUST feature elements that represent the specific locations (antennas on the communications room or holding cells on the detention blocks or so), at the end of the episode; the number of entries of each faction in a specific place will count as 1 point on that location (not depending on the size of it),with the exeption of the best scored entry in the place which will receive 4 points. The leading faction at a location will gain control of it. the winning faction is the faction that control the most locations (3 out of 5). Sector A: Main door / guard towers / perimetral walls Sector B: Detention blocks Sector C: Communications station Sector D: The docking bay / hangar bay Sector E: Main command post / wepons storage You can build any size you want but remember that if your entry has to stand against a small and skilled creation your effort will end counting only for one point in the location, build your best on the scale you feel more comfortable, XP points will be earned independently from the points you score for your faction (you can score 1 point for your team and still earn 9 XP at the end of the chapter). The Prizes: Your faction will receive points. Winner amount of XP points for the winner of each location (XP up to 10 X 2). This Sullustian head tag The pride for fighting for your faction The Rules: All rules in the Core Rules topic apply. The Empire's goal is to stop the prisoners from escaping and take down as many enemies in the process and theAlliance's goal is to escape with the prisoners and eliminate any resistance they find. Remember to make your entry appropriate to your rank and goal. From the Core Rules: Your build will be scored by the judges that will award a score from 1-10, with a '1' being "Minifig on a Plate", a '5' being "Your Average MOC" and a '10' being "Flawless Concept and Execution" this will aply only for the XP your character will receive and will not afect the score of the game which will only benefit the faction and wont depend of the size of the creation (a small or medium size build can earn 10 XP while still count in the game for 1 point for its faction due to the harsh competition). Only the best creation of each place will receive additional XP points (the ones he scored from the judging plus the ones that he earned from the battle) The amount of points you earn is also the amount of XP your character earns. SoNE Contest Episode II: Escaping from the wreckage
Bob De Quatre posted a topic in Nar Eurbrikka Archive
"Sir, our troops on Tatooine are closing to the Black Sun's hideout, but recons indicate that a rebel force is very close to us. Are we allowed to engage them." "This mission is of absolute importance! Do not let the rebels reach the Black Sun!" "Sir we have lost contact with the troops. There is a huge sandstorm closing in on their position, it must be causing interference with our communication systems." "Our sensors indicate no living creatures are in the area. The sandstorm must have completely destroyed our Assault team and the Imperial forces." "Sir the Avenger is leaving orbit! They must also consider that no one could have survived the storm!" "We can't let them escape! Track their destination and prepare to jump in hyperspace." Meanwhile, in the sand-filled air, the surviving Rebels and Imperials start to realize that they’re left alone, lost in the desert among the remaining debris of their ships and ground transports. This wreckage might be their only hope to get away from the deadly desert... "Hey look! I've found some droids!" *Wave his hand* "These aren't the parts we're looking for..." The Pile-o-bricks: The pile-o-bricks define what parts you can use and in which quantity. For this contest, the pile of bricks is composed of the following sets: 75003 - A-wing starfighter 9492 - TIE fighter 9496 - Desert skiff [*]The part list of the chosen sets can be found here [link] or [link]. [*]You cannot use the minifigs and their accessories included in the sets. [*]You cannot use any extra parts included in the sets, only the parts used in the main build. [*]In addition to these sets, you are allowed to use a maximum of 20 other bricks of your choice. The list of these additional bricks should be mentioned in your entry post. [*]You can use a flat baseplate if needed. This doesn't count in the 20 additional bricks. [*]You can use your sigfig, and any other member sigfig with no restrictions. However, any accessories that isn't part of the Pile-o-Bricks , and any other minifig count toward the 20 additional bricks. (A complete minifig with legs, torso, hands, head and hat/hair count as 1 additionnal brick) [*]You are only allowed to use your sigifg "for free". Any other minifig pieces count against the twenty piece limit. Any minifig pieces separated from the minifig count as one piece. Minifig pieces can only be grouped to count as one piece when attached to other pieces from the same section of the minifig the way TLG divides them up. Any accessories can't be grouped with the minifig pieces. (So a hand by itself is one piece. A hand and an arm attached together are one piece. The whole torso assembly is one piece, the whole leg assembly is one piece, the head is one piece. Just the torso and the head together are two pieces. Just the torso and just the hips together are two pieces. A torso and a backpack together are two pieces. A hand, an arm, and a gun together are two pieces. A head and a helmet together are two pieces. A Stormtrooper with a blaster is five pieces: legs, torsos, head, helmet, blaster.) Very well then, time for a different course of action. The reports form the field have convinced us we could greatly benefit from an alliance with the Black Sun. Imagine the intel we could gather about the plans of the Empire and the whereabouts of captain Solo. The problem is we have very little to offer in return. So tell our men to be of good use to the syndicate, and somehow show who the organization has to thank. But be cautious! The enemy is everywhere and we don't want to give away our plans! "It will be done, Sir" "I just received our new orders. Instead of trying to destroy the Black Sun, we have to befriend them. Good. We haven't been making much progress anyway." "Such a sudden change... Who knows what has gotten into Lord Vader's mind this time. I suppose something has become more important than Vader's distrust for the organization..." "My orders mention our construction project. We're already behind schedule, and could use some extra equipment. So make haste and don't let the Rebels get wind of it in any circumstance!" Later, in the office of Prince Xizor, head of the Black Sun: "So our friends have stopped being annoying and started being useful... Perfect. Let them toy around, let them sweat, thinking they can make a difference. Soon, they'll all ask for my help. I will become the most powerful man in the galaxy without ever having to ask for it..." Bith: Okay guys. Now that you more or less know how things work here, it's time for a real job. And you're in luck, because I can offer you three different jobs. Pick whatever suits your bricks best. Mon Cala: These things we're supposed to do, are they safe? Bith: Believe me, this isn't some kind of trap. Just keep to the shadows. Don't ask any difficult questions, and you won't get any nasty answers. Building objectives: A small note in advance: this episode has no special rules. Each player can only submit one entry. That entry should depict your character trying to achieve one of the following objectives. All entries will be regarded as usual, independent of which category they follow. So choosing which category to build in can be done freely, without any tactical considerations. Just choose what is most interesting to you. Your build should represent your character being involved in one of the following branches of the Black Sun on the designated planet: Equipment: Using the Black Sun’s specially modified freighters, you must smuggle goods to the Hutts on Nar Eurbrikka. Don’t worry about the payload. Just get it delivered without any questions. Intelligence: Distrust has risen among the leaders of the Black Sun. Follow them to where they go from the meeting on Coruscant, and find out where their allegiance lies. Foil their evil plans, and report every single detail back. Military: The Ororo transportation company failed to obey its orders from the Black Sun. As a message to remember them who is in charge, join the off-the-books but immensely powerful army to utterly destroy one of their bases located in the Vergesso Asteroids. Leave no survivors. The Prizes: From the Core Rules: Your faction will receive points based on two factors: Points: The average number of points per builder. Builders: One point for each builder. Attention: Note that we changed the Core Rules: where each faction previously got two points per builder, it now only gets one in the end. We hope this results in a better appreciation of quality of the builds in contrast to the quantity, in response to the numerous remarks in the feedback thread. (This member must still be able to provide a picture big enough and of suitable quality to be used in the Showcased banner.) [*]Thanks to the generosity of RoyalBrickCustoms (link), we will be able to give away some unique SoNE-themed cloth minifig accessories. The player with the most XP earned in this episode on every faction will receive a pack. Furthermore, there will also be a separate sponsor's choice award for the person RoyalBrickCustoms thinks has incorporated the theme best. (Details subject to change) [*]You will receive XP equal to the number of points you are awarded from the judges. [*]Other prizes to be determined The Rules: All rules in the Core Rules topic apply unless otherwise stated in this explanation. The Empire's goal and the Alliance's goal is to depict their character doing one of the three stated jobs for the Black Sun, meanwhile trying to win the Black Sun over for the faction without the enemy noticing. So while on the job, it's possible to track down enemy infiltrators, eliminate them, give them false information... Remember to make your story appropriate for your rank. There are no restrictions on the size/form/content of the builds, as long as they follow the above described goals and represent the respective location (underlined). The Episode will run from July 25th to September 19th 26th. As long as it is still September 26th somewhere in the world, you can still enter. Entries posted after the deadline will be disqualified from the episode and will not be eligible to receive points or XP. IX]". (For example, "[soNE Ep. IX] Shady Deals".) There's no need to state which one of the objectives you're following. [*]Post pictures no larger than 1000x720, as specified in the EB Member Guidelines.
