  1. Tasked with a new mission from the rebel headquarters, Vladivus and his crewmates have split up amongst the Black Sun in Coruscant. A Cathar lieutenant is their target, and they have positioned themselves around the sector in the hope that they will be able to follow him as he returns from the meeting. The Cathar speeds past Vladivus' position, on a modified speeder bike. Dressed as a Black Sun enforcer, Vladivus reports the sighting. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: This is a bit of a rushed build, but I'm fairly happy with it. I've been wanting to try a snotted road for a while, so I figured this would be a good opportunity. Anyway, C+C is very much welcome, it's nice to build some Star Wars after rather a lot of castle!
  2. After Vladivus had discovered the rebel beacon, he attempted to stowaway on a ship bound for Kashyyyk; the Dujan. However, the budding Rebel was discovered by an astromech and a rather disgruntled engineer. R2-Q6: "Beep boop!" Engineer: "What do you think you're doing on board the Dujan?" Vladivus realised he didn't have much chance of lying, so told his story to the Engineer, and produced the Rebel beacon. It turned out the Engineer was a closet Rebel sympathiser, and promised to drop Vladivus off on Kashyyyk, and point him in the direction of the some Rebels. C+c welcome, second freebuild for SONE. I'd like this one judged! EDIT: New photos added, as I rejigged the build slightly.
  3. Note: this is the final entry of a 3-part story. Part 1 - Pulling Rank Part 2 - Into the Wild Gathering around a fire to tell stories may be as old as soldiering itself. We all want to believe our own stories, but sometimes we get too caught up in our narrative... ...and we fail to notice that the audience is leaving ... ...one or two at a time ... ...until we find ourselves alone in the dark. It's dangerous to be alone, in the dark, on a hostile world. Please understand that this isn't my story. I heard it from someone, who heard it from someone, who heard it from someone. When these events allegedly took place I was with my entire squad, being debriefed by an ISB officer. This can be verified. If one cared to look into it, one would find that everyone on base had an airtight alibi for that night. This is not my story. I can only pass on what I've heard: how the Lieutenant came staggering into the base, pale, bleeding from a very shallow cut that crossed his entire throat. I don't know what words were whispered to him in the dark. I don't know if those words made a difference. Our shuttle left Endor that night. --- Behind the scenes: I finally got my hands on some transparent baseplates after finding a mosaic set at a rummage sale. A campfire scene was the first thing I thought of, and I'm very happy with how the effect turned out!
  4. We arrived on Endor in the afternoon and set-up our gear in a half-finished hallway in the temporary base. Corporal "Romeo" Pax and Staff Sergeant Brintt were cleaning their weapons and I was checking my ropes and climbing gear. The rest of the team was off gathering supplies and handling last minute details. That's when trouble arrived. They say not to judge a holo-book by it's front projection, but this guy had FOC written all over him (that's "Fresh Off Carida" for you new recruits). Not only was he wearing his full battle armor inside the base; he'd apparently also assigned himself a stormtrooper security detail. Still, we tried to give him a chance... "Good afternoon, sir." Romeo called. The Lieutenant ignored him and stalked toward Sgt Brintt, who was still seated and cleaning his weapon. "There's an officer on deck - get on your feet, soldier!" Sgt Brintt stood ... slowly. "Now drop and give me 20!" Sgt Brintt looked past the LT and spoke in a calm voice. "Sir, we're working under the orders of Captain Parth, who is acting upon the authority of General Brickdoctor. The Captain has ordered us to be ready to go by 1100 hours, and this soldier believes that an unscheduled PT session would prevent us from meeting that deadline. Sir." The Lieutenant's threats and insults were shouted at such a volume that he failed to hear the sound of metal thumping on metal,so when Sgt Brintt suddenly straightened up and saluted, the LT wasn't sure what was going on. He figured it out pretty quickly. Captain Parth spoke in a low growl. "Staff Sergeant Brintt." "Yes sir?" "I want you and the men to take a 10 minute break ... elsewhere," the Captain said. "Yes sir." We walked around a bend in the hall, far enough that we were out of sight, but still in hearing range. I spend time with some rough crowds, but I hadn't heard curse words used that frequently, or that creatively, since boot camp. 10 minutes later, a pale and shaken Lieutenant walked quickly past us and we went back to work. "He wont be giving you any more trouble," Captain Parth said as he left, but I had a feeling we hadn't seen the end of this particular officer. --- Part 2 of the story is here: Into the Wild Part 3 is here: War Stories
  5. OoC: See the rest of the story: Season 1 Season 2 Junker's Fee Since my credits were starting to run low I had to land the Rough Edges in one of the mass, orbital parking garages and take a public shuttle to the surface. There I had to go through Fondor’s customs checkpoint. Since they were one of the Empire’s main ship building yards security had to be high, especially since there were so many transient workers between the shipyards in space and the factories on the planet. I waited in line for hours before it was my turn to get scanned and proceed through the checkpoint. The waiting gave me time to get used to all the bald Fondorians. They weren’t actually bald, all Fondorians are born without hair. Their DNA is almost the same as the average human, but somewhere along the way their DNA reacted to the different levels of radiation on the planet leaving them mostly hairless. I also got used to hearing Mandalorian swear-words as I was waiting in line between a group of bounty hunters who knew the language. I couldn’t tell if they were all from Mandalor, but they had the manners and the beskar'gam armor to go with it so I figured they probably were. After I got through the scanner I overheard one of the bounty hunters yelling at the Fondorian Security Officer (FSO). “What do you mean I can’t kriff’n bring the crate through until after the floor plating is replaced!” The droid had been working on some of the wiring for the past 10 minutes or so which interrupted the flow of traffic a little if you weren’t bringing anything through, and a lot if you were. I didn’t want to get involved in any disputes involving bounty hunters in general and Mandalorians specifically. So I slipped past them and out onto Fondor’s surface. OoC: Comments welcome!
  6. We came in on the first wave on an old Yf-1300 freighter surprising the unsuspecting imperial forces, posing as a simple delivery vessel. We landed as close to the detention blocks as possible.Once inside we shot our way to the prisoners and Quickly dealt With the guards. More pictures added With flash
  7. Of the five habitable moons orbiting the gas giant Clovis, Clovis III was the ugliest (and if you'd been to the other four, you'd know what a bold statement that was). Swamps, slums and strip mines that stretched from horizon to horizon covered most of the planet; the Doonium hauled out of the mines was the only reason anyone (including us) was there. Officially, we were there to “assist and advise” the Clovian military, which was dealing with an indigenous uprising. Apparently, the beings who toiled in the mines grew tired of living in abject poverty while watching the ones who owned the mines get richer and richer. Lately, there'd been an upsurge in violence and sabotage, and our task was to poke around and see if it would take stormtroopers on the ground to make sure the supply of Doonium kept flowing. Birdman: I think we need to call off the Op - this isn't working. We were supposed to be raiding an insurgent safe house the next day, but the hand drawn map given to us by an informant didn't match up with the maps we'd gotten from the local military, and neither one lined up with the holo given to us by ImpIntel. I'm not just talking details – the different maps didn't even use the same units to measure distance. Crash: Why don't we use that compass you're always carrying as our baseline and calibrate everything to that? Romeo: I never knew Birdman had a compass... Crash: That's 'cause every time we go ground-side, Birdman and I hang out at the base while you go out looking for women with poor judgement. . Romeo: It's called gathering intel and - oh wow! That looks like ...is that The Compass of Destiny?! Birdman: Yeah it is. It belonged to my grandpa. Romeo: Hold on - your grandpop was Starman Jones?!? Crash: No ... but he was his stuntman for a handful of holoflicks. Crash: Wait - Starman who and the what compass?? Romeo: Starman Jones – the daring xeno-archeologist always getting into trouble and having outlandish adventures! Didn't you watch holo-dramas growing up?? Crash: No, we weren't allowed to watch holo-shows. Romeo: That explains so much... anyway, Birdman, tell us about the compass! Birdman: Well, for my 7th birthday I got to visit grandpa on the set. I loved it - the monsters, which were loud and scary even though they were fake ... ... the holocam bots darting around for close-up shots... ...and most especially, the actresses who thought I was adorable and fed me snacks from the crew table... The compass itself isn't much - they had at least a dozen of them in the props department, but I was really excited when he gave it to me after his scene had wrapped. As he gave it to me, he said: "Kid, in the story this compass helps the hero choose the right path. I want you to have it..." "So that it can tell me the right things to do?" I asked. "Uh, no," he said, "don't be daft, it's just a film prop. But, in the years to come, I hope it'll help remind you that there are right paths and wrong ones, and sometimes it takes a while to spot the difference." Birdman: ...And I dunno, guys; I'm not sure the Empire is backing the right side here. Crash: "Ours is not to question why..." Birdman: "We just shoot the other guy." Yeah, I know. It's just ... I've got a bad feeling about this one...
