  1. Let´s start with brand new model for the LEGO Technic Challenge. A 29 cm tall figure of American astronaut with moving wrists, elbows and shoulders. The helmet is equipped with two PF lights and both arms are operated by PF M motors. The model is remote controlled and powered by rechargeable LEGO battery.
  2. The last round also had a lot of fun and interesting guesses, some even got it right as well! The only one to guess rabbit as the next animal mould and winner of round 2 was @Actor Builder 2017 have been a very good year so far with new animal moulds so let's see what Lego and round 3 will bring Guess what animal will be the next to have the honour of becoming a Lego mould You may also give a second guess on what existing animal mould will be the next to get a new colour and in which colour.. The rules: -Only minifig scale animals count, not mini-dolls, Duplo etc.. -Only "normal" animals take part, e.g the latest robot shark in agents, dragons or teddy bears doesn't count. -It doesn't matter which Lego series that release the mould as long as it is in minifig scale. -If Lego make a improved mould of a old animal that will only count in the second guessing category, e.g. the new horse in 2012. Let the game begin 1. My guess is that the next animal mould will be a Hammerhead shark 2. And that the lobster will get a blue colour
  3. I'm at it again! Last year I made a few Transformers beasts using official LEGO sets. And experience gained led to try and built another one , using LEGO Creator 31152 this time! THe biggest challenge unique to this project was using the remaining parts to built the animal tail! Most of the ball joints from the set have already being utilized, so I'm forcing myself to be creative to find a way to implement its tail. Builders remorse crept in while shooting photos of this MOC: I should've built a longer tail! The hind legs are locked in. However, this doesn't stop it from displaying a "ready-to-pounce" stance. As always... I'm very generous with poseability of my Transformers MOCs. He even has waist swivel! VIDEO! BUILDING INSTRUCTIONS! Visit my rebrickable page to purchase building instructions of this MOCs. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-207068/alanyuppie/transformer-tiger-using-lego-creator-31152-space-astronaut/#details
  4. Since this year (2024) is the Year of the Dragon in Chinese zodiac, I've been thinking to build a Transformer dragon using official LEGO set. However, I kinda forgotten about this plan until last month! So I scrambled to find the right lego set to start a dragon project. And finally.... this alt MOC is born! This 2-headed dragon transformer is built using only parts from set 31121: Crocodile . And this is my 7th (Yes, SEVENTH) Transformer made using the said set. Seasoned G1 Transformers fans might recognise this MOC as Hung-grr, a Decepticon from teamTerrorcons that turned into similar alternate mode. Noticed the tan colored triangular parts below his necks. THey're important to stabilize the heavy necks and heads from sagging. ROBOT MODE As always..transformation between modes doesn't require reassembly of parts. More photos in my blog link below https://alanyuppie.blogspot.com/2024/12/video-tutorial-transformers-two-headed.html VIDEO TUTORIAL LAST WORDS.. I'm not done with dragons yet! I'm anxiously waiting for next year's LEGO Creator Dragon to build another Dragon Transformer from.!.
  5. Move over Bumblebee! Bumblebeast is in the house! This project is my second custom Transformer made using only parts from LEGO 10338 Bumblebee. This project started life with intention to build a Tiger mode . But as I go along building the animal head with chunkier slopes... it looked pretty good as a lion, too! And the yellow color scheme helps to pivot the project to this outcome. Transformation from robot to animal mode doesn't require reassembly of parts! The rear legs are locked in in lion mode. However... there are still some articulations on his front legs. 6. This Christmas, Santa brought me... a pet snail ! A blue one, to be precise. I decided to name him Jean-Jacques. But I don't think he likes being photographed, because he quickly began to run away :
  7. Hello, I built a seasonal MOC. A lifesize robin in the snow. Merry Christmas! P.S.: The robin is available as a set at MOCHUB! The Red Sneaker is also available as a set!
  8. Hello, a prehistoric dragonfly. The size has changed, but not the shape! Oh, and it is well ballanced and stable without a stand!
  9. Hello, this is a carrion or American crow (two very similar looking species).
  10. Hello, this is a common octopus. A totally different animal than I am used to build. I hope you like it.
  11. Hello! Recently I have decided to enter a contest over on Flickr, the Colossal Battle Contest in the group LEGO War. One of the categories is Beasts of battle, and I was wondering if anyone had ideas/techniques of how to build cool animals that might fit that theme. I already have one entry done, but I still want to hear some ideas and learn some new techniques to apply in other builds as well. I hope this topic will help others too, because I know that animals and beasts are often rather difficult to realistically represent in LEGO brick form. Thanks everyone!
  12. Hello, this is a Jack Russel terrier. I built it as a lifesize model. I hope you like it!
  13. With the release of series 15 collectible minifigures we will get a completely new animal mould; the skunk, and a animal in a new colour; the pig! I for one would never have guessed before the news were revealed that the next animal mould would be a skunk So I thought it would be fun to guess what animal will be the next to have the honour of becoming a Lego mould You may also give a second guess on what existing animal mould will be the next to get a new colour and in which colour.. The rules: -Only minifig scale animals count, not mini-dolls, Duplo etc.. -Only "normal" animals take part, e.g the latest robot shark in agents doesn't count. -It doesn't matter which Lego series that release the mould as long as it is in minifig scale. -If Lego make a improved mould of a old animal that will only count in the second guessing category, e.g. the new horse in 2012. Let the game begin 1. My guess is that the next animal mould will be a dachshund! 2. And that the cat will get a white edition
  14. Hello, this is a small MOC inspired by the bat in front of my window. P.S.: Please support the guinea pig on lego Ideas. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/115052
  15. Hello, I have a supplement to my adult alexandrine parakeet. P.S.: Please support the guinea pig on Lego Ideas. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/115052
  16. Hello, this is a mole. It just dug a new tunnel... P.S.: Please support the guinea pig on lego ideas. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/115052
  17. The T-rex is the apex predator in the Cretaceous age, and the most perfect masterpiece evolution has ever managed to accomplish. Because 65 million years after its extinction, it is still the biggest and most powerful carnivore ever walked the earth. When I first watch Jurassic Park, I was immediately captivated by the power and beauty of the T-rex, and hopelessly fell in love with her. And what beats watching a T-rex movie? Building one yourself! At 59 cm length and 930 grams weight, This model is possibly the world*’s largest posable T-rex that stands on its own. * LEGO world :-) For more pics of the beast, please visit me on flickr: https://flic.kr/s/aHskCpW3Se Features: 1. It grew bigger as the building went on, for we are all greedy in the detail department. As a result, at a certain moment, It suddenly hit me that this thing may never be able to stand on its own when finished, and that would be an ultimate bummer (Yes, it’s my second MOC, I never knew LEGO was so heavy!). But due to a technique (mixel joints served as tendons), a lot of time and effort put into banlancing, and many compromises made to aesthetics, the completed T-rex stands on its own. (It may not pose a problem for digital building, but I consider this the No.1 feature of this build.) 2. Play features: This beast is not only a display piece, It is moderately posable thanks to a lot of joints. And it has to be from the conveiving because there are so many cool postures and it would be a waste of bricks if it ends up to be just a statue. Again, aesthetics has to give way… to gaps. But the very essence of LEGO saves the day again: with a few parts (modules) added or removed, the gaps left by maneuvers can be covered. 3. Sturdy. Every time I had to choose between appearance and sturdiness, I chose the latter, for which I think is a virtue of official sets. 4. I try to get the proportions as real as possible. Oftentimes I see a T-rex MOC, the head is over-sized to stress the beast's ferociousness and the feet are disproportionately large to increase stability. 5. Stud-Not-On-Top design, and all “legal” LEGO parts and techniques. The T-rex is a LEGO Ideas project, if you like it please support me at https://ideas.lego.com/projects/146539 . Thank you so much :-) Check another of my posts, Extreme Evolution: Arctic Triceratops: http://www.eurobrick...opic=135937&hl=
  18. Accordidng to Wikipedia, Some triceratops could grow up to over 9 meters long and weigh more than 12 tons. That put them in the same weight class as the ultimate predator T-rex. So their only appearance inJurassic Park obviously didn't do them justice size-wise. And if you know anything about polar bears, you would know Arctic beasts usually grow larger than their relatives in other regions of the world. Imagine how powerful and beautiful this creature must be. Features: 1. Play features. It is not a statue. It's moderately posable with tons of joints. I made it this way so it could fight a T-rex in the short movie below. You can have more poses with a few modules added or removed. 2. Sturdy. Every time I had to choose between appearance and sturdiness, I chose the latter, for which I think is a virtue of official sets. 3. Stud-Not-On-Top design, and all “legal” LEGO parts and techniques. The Triceratops is a LEGO Ideas project, if you like it please support me at https://ideas.lego.com/projects/144697 . Thank you so much :-)
  19. Hello, this is my latest creation. It´s a lifesize european magpie. The head is turnable. I hope you like it! P.S.: Please support the "Guinea Pig" in Lego Ideas.
  20. Hello, this is a racoon in a hurry. It´s a lifesize model. It´s 67 cm long and contains about 3750 bricks to build it. I hope you like it!
  21. Hello, this is a diorama that I designed for a friend. I´s based on the Lucky Luke comics by Morris. Unlike my other designs it´s digital and the building technique is very much different from my normal MOCs.
  22. I am back with another alternative model built out of adidas Superstar shoe (set 10282). This time it doesn't feature any stripes unlike my previous zebra. So let me introduce you my little doggie. I tried to build it as accurate and shaggy as possible out of available parts. I am mainly satisfied how body turned out. It widely uses SNOT techniques and studs go nicely all around it in regular rows. It also features basic posability - you can move its tail and turn its head. Adidas mark on its back is just little reference to original model of shoe and can be replaced with another plain white tile from donor set. Building instructions are available for sale at rebrickable.com
  23. Hello, I guess it´s the season to post a raven... I added a "calling function". When you push a button on the back, the head moves and the beak opens for a "call". To see the full motion, please watch the video on flickr (last picture).
  24. When I was thinking about what else I can build out of adidas Superstar shoe (set 10282) I've got such ideas like space shuttle, Moby Dick (white whale), toilet, dog, panda but none of them have any connection with original model of shoe. Maybe only imperial "Superstar" destroyer took part of its name... ...then I've got it! I remembered 90's when I was going to Vietnamese marketplaces with my parents to buy clothes. It was right after collapse of iron courtain and we finally got western goods so we were able to buy branded clothes, shoes, electronics and so on in Czech Republic. I can remember that original adidas T-shirt costed about 1500 Czech crowns and it was much money if you take account of average monthly salary being about 10000 Czech crowns. So who couldn't afford it looked for cheaper alternatives in Vietnamese marketplaces. You could buy similar T-shirt for 300 crowns there. Of course it was not original but fake with better or worse quality. And there were those vendors who were trying to sell you their goods with minimum knowledge of Czech language so you could hear something like: Vendor: "Sir, sir, buy T-shirt adidas, quality very well!" Customer: "But it has four stripes instead of three!?" Vendor: "More stripes, more adidas!" Remembering phrase "more stripes, more adidas" I've built zebra which is definitely more adidas than original shoe! It is static model (same as original shoe) and only moving part is its tail. Even though proportions are little bit cartoonish (big head, small body, thick legs) it is very cute and recognizable. The best part of model is head. I used little bit of SNOT techniques to build snout that even features nostrils, 1x1 quarter tiles make cool eyes and mane is connected by ball joints and hinges. It could be better if it had more stripes but amount of black parts is very limited in donor set. Building instructions will be available soon.
  25. Hello, I finished a new model. It´s a cat. Built in lifesize.
