It is time to move into the coloured era, my dear Whovians. Welcome the Third Doctor. Yes, here he is, in all his fancy glory. Just as portrayed by Jon Pertwee. Replicating his curly hair was not an easy task, that's for sure. Choosing between his various outfits was not a simple thing to do, either. In the end, i chose the most "dandy" one - Black and violet cape and dark red velvet suit. Also, for the first time, Doctor has got his sonic screwdriver. And now it's time to regenerate! And don't forget to make Three Doctors appear together. After all, they are ones of him. I got bored one day and came across some Power Rangers Brickheadz. I decided to make some based on the 17th season of Super Sentai, which is a 42 year old show that Haim Saban would later adapt in 1992 with Zyuranger becoming Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. This is the appearance of the Dairangers.

Ski jumping may not be as popular as football, nevertheless the winter season and especially the forthcomming winter olympic games are good reasons to pay some attention to winter sports. Among all the winter disciplines it is the ski jumping that I like most. So, with respect to the bravery of the guys up on the hill and also to celebrate the great success of Kamil Stoch (Poland), who won this year's Four Hills Tournament in a great style - winning all four hills as the second jumper in history, after Sven Hannavald (Germany), I have built this little figurine. Technically it differs a bit from official BrickHeadz, but the size and proportions are about the same. Hello, As you all know, the year 2017 marked launching the BrickHeadz line by TLG. Although many people dislike this line, it turned out to be very inspiring for me, so I really got involved in creating my own custom BrickHeadz. Balancing between sticking to the rules of this form and bending them a bit to obtain the individual character of the person being the subject was very challenging, but on the other hand it gave me a lot of fun. As my first MOC here on Eurobricks, I'd like to present one of my latest custom BrickHeadz - Johann Sebastian Bach. I love watching Sumo Wrestling on NHK World TV. I think my boy is starting to appreciate the sport because he asked me to make a BrickHeadz version of a rikishi (wrestler). I don't have Lego element 22885 which makes up most of the skeletal structure of a BrickHeadz. I made do with whatever parts I had and I'm pretty pleased with the outcome. Of course he needs that extra girth from eating all those chankonabe. I tried to capture the hairstyle - chonmage, as well as the mawashi (loincloth). His arms articulate as well.

This is my attempt in making an Ahsoka Tano BrickHeadz. I think the colors and the interesting build for the head would make her a good fit for the BrickHeadz lineup. I only used legal building techniques, but I did use particular colors for bricks that don't yet exist yet, as I'm not planning on building this with physical bricks. I designed it as if it would be an actual set however, so a couple of recolors and new prints would be made for this. The printed pieces will be: - Standard black BrickHeadz eyes (I tried blue like her minifigures have but it doesn't stand out as much in this case) - Printed white facial markings on the 1x4 tile for her cheeks and the 2x4 tile on her forehead - A print for the pink 1x2 sash - Perhaps the printed armbands on the orange 1x2 tiles and the orange diamond pattern on the side of the black 1x2 plates (one diamond per plate) Lego BrickHeadz Ahsoka Tano LDD MOC by Jek Porkchops, on Flickr I especially like how the rows of Akul teeth match the source material, with two being more or less horizontal and four being vertical. The bigger middle one is made from a Nexo Knights shield piece. Hello, folks! Without long introduction - here are all my brickheadz so far (more than half are new, others - you could see them, but they have been slightly reworked). Note for mobile users - there will be many pics to load for your device. All building instructions are free. I'll add some comments by the way, but pics should do better :) 1) Newlyweds - kinetic model Animation (it may take some time to load): What is love? Baby don't h.. Hm, that's not what should have been said :) This couple celebrates their marriage with great dance. By the way, almost 22000 ukrainian couples got married since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. Love and peace will win! This model is driven manually by rotating a gear in back of the stand and can be motorised if you connect any motor you have to it. Given that the stand, groom and bride are separate models that work together, you can re-insert the bride and groom to make them rotate in the range you want. It also means you can use this stand to make your own brickheads "dance" as long as they have similar structure (all internal mechanics). Free building instruction: Rebrickable 2) Ukrainians A brave cossack; his younger brother; beatiful girl - they all can be the symbols of Ukraine. Let's take a closer look: This brave cossack has an earring in the left ear. Years ago it meant he was the one and only son of his mother. He wears traditional cossack pants - "sharovary" and traditional shirt - "vishivanka". Also, his hairstyle is called "oseledets" or "chub". Animation: Young girl. She also wears traditional combination of jacket and an embroidered skirt. Her flower wreath with colored ribbons is a symbol of youth and girlhood. Animation: Baby cossack - a symbol of ukrainian kids. [MOC] The Muppets - Sweetums & Thog (Brickheadz-inspired)

A friend on Facebook was lamenting the lack of a Sweetums minifigure as part of the new CMF line. I observed that Sweetums is so big relative to the other muppets that the scale would be way off, so I proposed this Brickheadz-inspired version instead. Just a Studio render, but entirely buildable in real life! And of course, as long we have Sweetums, why not Thog? Sticking to available colors was a challenge -- but of course, it's just not Thog without the adjustable ears! And together for scale... -
Aside from Buzz Lightyear, we are also getting Brickheadz of his friends Woody and Bo Peep in this wave. If you’ve read my review of the Buzz Lightyear Brickhead, you’ll know that I had some strong opinions about that one, so will this set fare any better? Well, grab your cowboy hat and shepherd staff and let’s find out. Ride like the wind, Bullseye! Set Number: 40553 Name: Woody and Bo Peep Theme: Brickheadz Subtheme: Disney Year of Release: 2022 Ages: 10+ Pieces: 296 Price: £17.99 / $19.99 / 19.99€ Online Shop description: The Box Like the Buzz Brickhead, the box has the same light blue background as the Toy Story 4 sets which is fitting in this case since Bo Peep is based on her appearance in that movie. It also features the LEGO Brickheadz and Toy Story logos and the name and number of both Brickheadz at the bottom. It’s wild to think that there has been over 160 Brickheadz! Interestingly, Lego seems to have sent me North American box version of the set rather than the European version like they did with Buzz as it has the extra info like the set name, number of parts, and the redundant “building toy” text that these boxes have. The back of the box has a picture of Woody and Bo with swapped positions, another that shows them detaching from their bases, and some cross promotion for the Buzz Lightyear set. On one side of the box, it has a picture of Woody and Bo from Toy Story 4 along with another set of logos, and on the other side it has the set name in different languages and some choking hazard warnings. The top of the box uses Woody’s torso tile to show the “actual size” and lists the Brickheadz’s names and numbers again. Buzz’s box didn’t have the name and number, so I wonder if this is because it’s an American box or just because it’s a bigger box with more space to display them. On the bottom of the box there is just some legal and recycling info. Contents Inside the box there are two sets of two bags and two instructions booklet. The bags numbered one are for Woody and the ones numbered two are for Bo. Instructions Like all instructions this year, the ones in this set have a progress bar running along the bottom and show an explosion of stars once you reach the end of the build. Usually the progress indicator is a minifig/doll from the set, but since Brickheadz don’t have minifigs, it’s just a generic blue dot here which is a shame. The instructions are easy to read for the most part, although the reddish brown and dark in Woody’s instructions are a bit hard distinguish. Notable Parts This set has a few more interesting parts than the Buzz set. There is a printed 2x4 tile for each character’s torso. Like Buzz’s, these are a bit simplified with the word “Sheriff” missing from Woody’s badge, but they still look fairly detailed with the fine lines and stitches. I’m not sure how versatile these are outside of this set though. We also get two new recolors in this set: a lasso in dark orange and a 8x8 round tile in reddish brown! These should be very useful for builders. There are also some parts like brackets in rare colors like purple and light blue, but they aren’t exclusive to this set. The Build As you could tell by the bag numbers, Woody is the first Brickhead you build. His build is a bit different from other Brickheadz in that the front part of his torso is built mostly with the studs not on top and the upper half of his head is empty to allow his hat to tilt backward on a hinge. Not only that, but Woody’s got guts - literally! Like his buddy Buzz, his torso is hollow and contains an easter egg in the form of a couple of ice cream scoops which represent the cotton that he is filled with. I feel like the toy repairman from Toy Story 2 as I put the fluff into Woody and put him together. Bo is also a fairly unconventional build since she has a torso tile as well and has a somewhat complex build for her hair and cape. Her build also incorporates more parts, so it takes a bit longer than Woody’s. Sadly, unlike the other two Toy Story Brickheadz, she does not have any fun references hidden in her torso, but that makes sense since she is just made of porcelain. She does, however, have the pink 2x2 brick in her (brick)head that usually represents the brain of a Brickhead. Although that makes you wonder if the toys even have brains? [ I like how Bo’s bow (“Bo-bo-bow-bo-bow!”) is attached at an angle by simply placing it across two studs on the side of her hair. What I don’t like, however, is that the 2x2 corner tile on this side of her hair is a lighter shade of yellow than the other yellow pieces. Thankfully it is mostly covered by the bow in the end, but it’s disappointing to see Lego’s quality control slip like this. Spare Parts There are lots of little bits left over after the build including another dark orange lasso. Yee-haw! The Complete Set Here we have the completed couple in their blocky glory! Woody brandishes the lasso while Bo is holding her iconic shepherd’s crook. They both look good and accurate to their on-screen counterparts. While I don’t mind the torso tiles, I feel like Woody is relying on the printing a bit too much and think that some of those details could have been accomplished with brick-built solutions instead. To show you what I mean, here is a picture of the Woody Brickhead that I built 5 years ago. I also like how Bo’s cape flows over here shoulders. One thing that doesn’t quite work is how her headband comes down in a wavey line, although I can’t think of a better way they could have accomplished this with current parts. Woody has some clever details on his back such as tooth plates as the knot of his bandana, a life preserver used as the ring for his pull string, and pearl-gold clip plates representing his spurs. I also like how they executed the three little curls of hair that stick out at the back of Bo’s head. Her cape on the other hand could have been done a bit better though I think. The two 1x1 plates stick out and ruin the otherwise smooth look of the cape, and half of the white fringe on the bottom edge seems to be missing. Also, if you look at the cape a certain way, it looks like a goofy purple monster face and once you see it, you can’t unsee it. You’re welcome. On his right leg, Woody carries a brown wedge which nicely represents his empty holster. Bo’s bow looks good too, even if it’s a bit blocky, but I guess it fits with the Brickheadz style. One thing that bugs me about Woody is how his hat is perfectly circular rather than more triangular like in the source material. It makes it look more like a fedora than a cowboy hat. Oh well, at least we got a new part out of it, and this will make it easy to modify his Brickhead into Indiana Jones if you want to. Here they are next to the Buzz Brickhead. The space ranger doesn’t look too bad next to his best friend and his old moving buddy, but he is definitely the least impressive one out of the group. Ratings Design: Very unique and accurate looking Brickheadz with the exception of only a few nitpicks like the over-reliance on printing for the torsos or the shape of Woody’s hat. The cotton is a nice touch. Build: An interesting build that is a bit different from other Brickheadz and gets more challenging towards the end with Bo’s complex hair. Playability: Ironically, these toys are not meant to be played with and are mostly just for display. Parts: A few new recolors, some printed parts, and a few parts in rare colors. Not too shabby. Price: At nearly 300 pieces for only 20 bawk-bawk-bucks, this is a great deal! Overall: You’ve got a friend in these Brickheadz! After the disappointment that was Buzz Lightyear, it was good to see some more effort put into these. Both have a good level of detail and look great on display together. Even if you are not a Toy Story or Brickheadz fan, it’s still worth getting for the parts. You can get this set starting February 1 at the Lego Shop and all Al’s Toy Barn locations. “BUZZ LIGHTYEAR! The world’s greatest super hero now the world’s greatest Brickhead!” That’s right, the toys are back in town as the February 2022 wave of LEGO Brickheadz brings us characters from the Toy Story franchise, and with Buzz getting his very own origin movie this summer, it only makes sense for his Brickhead to get a standalone set. But is this space ranger out of this world or does he fall without style? Let’s take a look and see what all the Buzz is about. To the review… and beyond! Set Number: 40552 Name: Buzz Lightyear Theme: Brickheadz Subtheme: Disney Year of Release: 2022 Ages: 10+ Pieces: 114 Price: £9.99 / $9.99 / 9.99€ Online Shop description: The Box The box features the same branding as the Toy Story 4 sets with the light blue rays in the background, even though it has the generic Toy Story logo, along with the usual LEGO Brickheadz logo and the name and number of the Brickhead at the bottom. The back of the box has a picture of the Bickhead from a slightly different angle that shows that it is detachable from the base as well as pictures of the Woody & Bo Peep Brickheadz. Some pretty blatant cross promotion, but it makes sense. On one side of the box, it has a picture of Buzz from the movies and another set of logos, and on the other side it has some choking hazard warnings. The top of the box features a picture of one of the wing wedge plates for scale while the bottom has some legal info. Contents Inside the box there are three unnumbered bags, a loose 6x6 plate, and the instructions booklet. Instructions The instructions are pretty easy to read and they have a progress bar going across the bottom that shows you how far along you are in the build. This is a new feature that can be found in all instructions this year and is pretty neat. Once you reach the end of the build, There is an explosion of stars behind the illustration to signify the completion of the build. It certainly helps to make the end of the build feel more eventful. And once again we have some more cross promotion with a full page ad for the Woody & Bo Peep set which matches that set’s box art. Notable Parts Like in all Brickheadz sets, all the decorations are printed. Aside from the eyes, there are the wing wedge plates and the command board for Buzz’s chest. The latter is a highly simplified version of Buzz’s chest from the movies. The Star Command logo lacks any detail and both the “Space Ranger” text and the “Lightyear” name in the name tag are missing. This is likely an artistic choice to fit the Brickheadz style, but it feels a bit too overly simplified to me. On the other hand, this makes it a more versatile piece. Especially the wings should be very useful for MOC builders. The Build The build is pretty standard for a Brickhead. One thing to note, though, is that inside Buzz’s torso there are four blue round bricks with silver tips which are meant to represent the Buy’n’Large brand batteries that Buzz has in the movies. Half of them are even placed upside down just like real batteries. These are not accessible once the build is finished, so they are just there as an easter egg. It’s a shame they aren’t printed, but it’s a great unexpected touch all the same! Spare Parts There are several little 1x1 bits left over after the build. Nothing out of the ordinary. The Complete Set After a short build, Buzz is ready to leap to the rescue! He looks fairly accurate, although he is not the most elaborate Brickhead and as I mentioned before, his command board could be more detailed. His face looks very generic as well, but I guess there is not much the designers could have improved about that except maybe if they included that little curl that he has on his chin. Funny enough, the Brickheadz proportions make this representation of Buzz look a lot more like Mini Buzz, the Fun Meal toy version of Buzz from the Toy Story Toons short “Small Fry”. Did I say that the chest is not accurate enough? Well, I take it back because the arms are way worse. The Space Ranger badge on his left arm is simply represented by an unprinted 1x1 tile while the button for the wrist laser on his right arm is lacking any of the markings around it and is offset from the lightbulb. I know that using jumper tiles to center them probably would have made the arm too thick, but maybe they could have used printed tiles instead. Anything would have looked better than this. The color blocking on Buzz’s body is a bit off as well. The plate around his neck should be lime green and so should the back of his feet. Another big problem is evident when you look at Buzz’s back. There is a big gap between the top of the wings and the jet pack. It just looks… what’s the word I’m searching for?… bad. Actually, the word I’m searching for I can’t say because there are preschool toys present. I do like how they designed the jetpack itself however, with the details on the spine and the trans-red showing through the exhausts. However, the real issue with the wings is visible when viewed from the top. They are not two, not three, but FOUR plates thick! They’re about twice as thick as his arms! I doubt Buzz could even fall with style with these things, let alone fly. Years of academy training wasted! On a brighter note, I never noticed until now that modern Brickheadz stands are built to look like a Brickhead face. That’s pretty neat. As you may have noticed, they wings are each attached only by a single clip which means that they can easily be bent back which should not happen. Everything about these wings is just wrong. The reason for all these problems is likely that the wings were meant to be easy to pop off in case you want to display Buzz with his wings folded in. It’s a nice thought that worked well for the Buzz Lightyear minifig, but if you do that here you are left with these awkward clips sticking out of the sides of the jetpack, so even that doesn’t really work. I’m not sure if this is indeed an intentional feature since neither the Shop description nor any of the images on the box or instructions allude to it. Either way, I think they should have either tried to find a better, more permanent design for the wings or omitted them altogether. I suspect that this terrible design must be the work of the evil Emperor Zurg! Here is a picture of the Buzz Lightyear Brickhead MOC that I built 5 years ago for comparison. While it’s certainly not perfect, I think its much better than the official one, especially around the wings. Ratings Design: Well, it does look like Buzz, even if an overly simplified version of him, and the batteries are a nice touch, but it’s definitely losing some points for those awful wings. Build: Fairly standard build for a Brickhead. Playability: You can pop off the wings… yay. Parts: No special or new parts, just a couple of printed ones. Price: Over 114 pieces for $10 make this one of the better valued Brickheadz. Overall: If you know me, you’ll know that Toy Story is one of my all-time favorite franchises and Buzz Lightyear is my favorite Disney character, so I had high hopes for this set, but I’m sad to say that I was let down by it. I know you can’t expect too much with Brickheadz, but I think they could have done a better job than this, especially on his jetpack. It’s a mediocre Brickhead at best, but it does have a decent amount of parts, some of which have some useful prints, so if you don’t have as high standards for a Buzz Lightyear Brickhead as me, it’s not a bad purchase. Another year, another Comic Con, and as you probably know, TLG always likes to sell exclusive sets at these cons which are very popular. However, they are not the only exclusives being sold there. Another hugely popular SDCC exclusive are Funko's POP! vinyl figures. They are stylish, adorable representations of characters from various licenses. There are hundreds of them and collectors can't get enough of them. So, for this year's San Diego Comic Con, TLG seems to have decided to appeal to both LEGO and Funko fans by debuting their upcoming Brickheadz, a series of brick-built figures in a similar style to the POP! figs, just blockier. I was able to acquire one of the four sets that were available while I was at the con and it contains the stars of the latest Marvel blockbuster, Captain America: Civil War. So, do Lego bricks and the vinyl figure style go well together or do they clash like the two Marvel heroes did in the movie? Lets find out! Set Number: 41492 Name: Iron Man & Captain America Theme: Brickheadz Subtheme: Marvel Super Heroes Year of Release: 2016 Pieces: 184 Minifigs: 0 Price: $39.99 USD Links: Brickset Bricklink Before we begin, I would like to tell you about my experience at San Diego Comic Con. I have been going to this convention and its sister convention, Wondercon, for the past 3 years. I always enjoy it a lot as it is great to get together with other nerds and just geek out about the things you love. You can see everyone's cosplays, meet artists and celebrities, get sneak peeks for upcoming media, watch world premiere cartoons, and get neat stuff! However, with every passing year I have been noticing how increasingly crowded it has gotten, and the more crowded it got, the less enjoyable it has become. The first time I went to SDCC, I had no problem walking around, getting exclusives, and getting into the panels I wanted to see (except for the Marvel/DC ones in Hall H - those have always had a notoriously long line). But within just three years it has gotten to the point where navigating the exhibit hall is virtually impossible without pushing your way through masses of warm, sweaty people and you have to get in line for exclusives and panels multiple hours in advance to even stand a chance to enter them. I spent most of my time just standing in line in the hot summer sun and most of the time the exclusives were sold out or the panel was already over by the time I got halfway through the line, so I walked away with nothing but a bad sunburn and had to try my luck at the next line. The line for the exclusive minifigs stretched from one end of the convention center to the other and the worst thing is that most of the people were scalpers who were only there so they could sell them for ridiculous prices later. So while the panels and booths that I did get to see were great, I definitely think that TLG and the whole Comic Con team need to organize this event better somehow. Needless to say, I will think twice before I attempt to get an exclusive next time, if I even go at all. That said, after getting in line at 4 in the morning, getting lucky in the raffle, and standing in another line at the Lego booth to buy it for forty bucks, I did manage to get this set as a souvenir, so lets open this bad boy! The Box The set comes in a thick, shiny box which is much more sturdy than your average Lego box. The background transitions from a yellow/orange gradient on Iron Man's side to a black/red gradient on Captain America's side via a dot pattern which gives it that comic book feel. At the top of the front there is a big LEGO BRICKHEADZ logo and a little circle letting you know that this is a SDCC 2016 exclusive. Thanks yellow circle! I never would have guessed! The Brickheadz logo is a bit bland and the Z instead of an S seems a bit corny, but it's cute how they stylized the H to look like a Brickhead. On the bottom, there is the Marvel logo and labels for the two Brickheadz included in the set accompanied by a little icon for each of them which is a nice touch. The backside has a similar layout with the same logos, but what's fun is that the Brickheadz are shown from their backside here. It also features a picture that assures you that the figures are indeed removable from their base, and instead of the labels there is a bunch of legal mumbo jumbo. The sides of the box continue the theme of showing the Brickheadz as if the box was see-through by showing Iron Man's right-hand side on the left side of the box and Cap's left-hand side on the right. Even on top of the box you see the top of the "headz" of the Brickheadz. However, on the bottom you don't see the bottom of the figs. It's just black and there is a fancy tape stretching across it with the Brickheadz logo and a shadowy impression of the eyes of a Brickhead printed on it. Now I'm going to do something that is probably unthinkable for all those scalpers at SDCC: I'm actually going to open and build this Lego set! The way you open the box is you cut the tape at the bottom and slide the cover off. Contents The box contains one instructions booket and one parts bag for each Brickhead. Much like the box, the bags are not the usual kind. You don't need to rip them open as they have an easy to open flap on the back. They also each have a sticker with some mysterious numbers on it. This is the first page of both of the instruction booklets. It shows both of the SDCC exclusive Marvel Brickheadz sets together on the left side and a teaser image for the upcoming Brickheadz line on the right which confirms the release date of the theme to be March 1st, 2017. The instructions are presented on a solid black background which provides a nice contrast and gives you the sophisticated feeling that you are putting together a collectible display item rather than a kids toy. The callouts are clear and the build is very simple as it only involves some basic SNOT. Good news! There are no stickers in this set! All the decals are printed, giving us a nice assortment of exclusive parts. The most notable printed piece is the black 2x4 tile with the Lego logo and the hashtag "LEGOSDCC" which there are two of in the set. It bugs me a little that they put a hashtag onto the set itself as it seems like a blatant attempt to get social media exposure for the event, but at least it marks it as an SDCC exclusive. Aside from Cap and Tony's torso and helmet pieces, there is also the new Brickheadz eye tile and Iron Man's eye tiles which are trans-light-blue 1x1 tiles with a simple white square printed on it. As always, the light printing on dark parts is not very strong, so things like the "LEGO" and "A" fonts are not as white as they could be. There are also some new recolors in this set such as the 1x2 plate with clip in red and the 1x1 round tile with small tube in white. The trans-clear stud with handle from the latest Spider-Man sets is included as well. Now we know where Spidey got that new web-shooter tech from. Assembling the Avengers You can start the build with either one of the Brickheadz. I'd like to build these in alphabetical order, so let's start with the guy who has a big "A" on his forehead. The parts contained in the bag for Captain America are the following. You start the build from the waste up and add the legs later on as you've seen on the sample instructions page earlier. Two round bricks serve as a center support for the torso. All of the SNOT is achieved by using the double brick with four studs on the side which was introduced earlier this year. The inner walls of the head are entirely comprised of them. What's funny is that in the center of the head they included a 2x2 brick in pink so that it looks like there is a brick-shaped brain inside of the brick-headz. Well played, designers. Here is the finished Captain. He looks quite adorable with that big head and glissening eyes. It's interesting that they made the highlights in his eyes square to stick with the brick theme of these figures. Next up is Iron Man. He has a few more parts as you can see in the lineup below. Iron Man's torso is similar to Cap's, but it's more intricate as it uses a lot of headlight bricks to attach his armor plating (or should I say tiling?). The inner structure is the same, including the brain brick which is the same size as that of any other Brickhead. I guess Tony is not so smart after all. After you add the plates around the head and add the legs, you're finished! Iron Man looks quite good with his armor tiles and repulsor beams, and the trans-light-blue showing around the eyes gives them that blue glow that they have in the movies which is an effect that the minifig version has yet to achieve. My only gripe is that the red strip on his forehead is interrupted by a yellow line, but that's excusable. The Completed Set Don't they look adorable together? It's hard to imagine these little guys starting a civil war. Both of them are based on their comic counterparts, so their costumes look very colorful, especially when standing next to each other. As you can see looking at them from the front, the boost from Iron Man's jet boots makes him stand one plate taller than Cap and all the other Brickheadz. Also, the use of tiles on his chest and slopes on his shoulders give the impression that he is wearing armor. The printing on both of their faces and torsos is very minimalist, but works with the simplified look that they're going for. For comparison, here is a picture of Funko's POP! versions of these characters. They look quite similar, don't they? TLG is not even trying to hide the fact that they are copying Funko's style. Captain America looks almost the same and the only difference on Iron Man is the use of standard black eyes (although they did use white eyes in the later movie versions of the character). I like how they used that white claw piece to represent the little wings on Cap's helmet. I can see them using the same technique for the Flash. I also like the way Iron Man holds his repulsor beams. This trans-clear stud with handle is a very useful part and I hope they use the same technique for the Iron Man minifig in future sets. Like in the comics, the printing on Cap's costume is exactly the same on the back as it is in the front. It's a bit lazy, but it's nice to see that he does have printing here, unlike Iron Man who is completely blank. They already printed so many parts in this set, so it would have been nice if they would have just printed these two tiles too. Cap's shield-holding hand is different from his left hand as it uses the 1x2 plate variant with the clip on the short side rather than the long side. This is supposed to give the arm an angled look which sort of works, although it does look a bit awkward. I should also mention that they are obviously top-heavy, especially Iron Man, so they tend to fall over backwards when they are not standing on a flat surface. However, this can be fixed by mounting them onto the center of their base. When I first saw these, I was hoping that their heads and arms were mounted on turntables so that you could pose them a little bit like you can with the Funko POPs, but alas this is not the case. They have zero points of articulation, making them decidedly more display items than toys. Here they are compared to their minifig counterparts. As you can see, they are about twice the size of a minifigure. Ratings Design: 5/5 - I think both of these figures look great. The designers managed to replicate the cute vinyl figure look fairly well while putting their own blocky spin on it, and the pink "brain" brick is a nice touch. Build: 2/5 - A very quick and easy build with nothing special aside from some basic SNOT. Nothing challenging. Playability: 1/5 - The Brickheadz don't have any articulation or play features, so they are clearly meant to be displayed rather than played with. Although the fact that the set includes two characters who have quite a history in both the comics and movies does allow for some role play. Parts: 4/5 - Most of the bricks included here are fairly common, but they're useful nonetheless. Some of the parts are exclusive to the set and all decals are printed which is always nice to see, although the lack of printing on Iron Man's back armor is disappointing. Price: 1/5 - I know I don't really have a right to complain since most people have to pay extortion prices on ebay to get these, but $40 for just 184 pieces is way too high already for me. When these are officially released, I hope that they cost only half as much or less. Overall: 3/5 - I have never bought a vinyl figure since I try to limit myself to collecting only one type of toy (#Lego4Life ), but I do see the charm that people see in them, so when it was announced that Lego will be making their own Funko-style figures, I was quite excited. While I don't think that Lego will become a serious competitor to Funko and other real vinyl figures, I do think that these Brickheadz are pretty cool on their own. Kids might not be interested in them due to their lack of playability, but some adult collectors like myself might find them charming. That said, I do not recommend getting this set, especially at aftermarket prices. It's just too much money for two little figures that might get released for a much more reasonable price in about half a year. The only special thing about it is the packaging and the hashtag-tiles. The only reason I got it was that I didn't want to leave the con empty-handed. In conclusion, while the process of acquiring these wasn't much fun and I payed more for them than I would've liked, I don't regret getting them as they do look rather nice and I look forward to see what TLG will do with this theme. I really like the Brickheadz style and might even build some of my own! As you may be able to guess by my avatar, I am a fan of the new Brickheadz theme. The best thing about them (aside from looking really cute and NOT UGLY) is that they are fairly easy to build yourself by following the Brickheadz standard, so here is a thread for me to post my Brickheadz creations. As you may know, one of my favorite themes is Toy Story, so it only made sense for me to make Buzz and Woody first. And while I already have a space ranger Brickheadz body, I thought why not make one of my sigfig? :) Next, I wanted to work on a larger project, so I set out to recreate every main character from TMNT. Here is a group shot of the Brickheadz in a Half-shell: First up we have the leader Leonardo and the cool but crude Raphael. Next we have the other two turtles, Donatello and Michelangelo the party dude. And lets not forget the other good guys, April O'Neil and Master Splinter. April's hair is mostly borrowed from Black Widow, but it's shorter in the back to allow for her to have her collar. But what would our heroes be without some villains to fight, so here are the evil Shredder and Krang. As always, they are accompanied by their minions Bebop and Rocksteady. I will be working on more Brickheadz for the contest on Brickset, so keep an eye on this thread for more!

As the title says, I'm looking for someone who has the exclusive SDCC BrickHeadz. And I don't mean stored away MISB to sell at some point, but I mean actually built (for what they are meant). Why? Well, I'm a collector of the Brickheadz series, but no-way I'm going to spent thousand(s) of dollars to get all these exclusive brickheadz. On a sidenote, I think it's a stupid decision from Lego to make so many SDCC exclusive Brickheadz. Brickheadz is a really collectible-oriented theme and a few exclusive ones is not a problem, but now there are already as much exclusives as there are standard Brickheadz Anyway, back on topic. As I said, buying the original ones is not an option for me. So, I'd like to Bricklink the parts. And for the printed pieces, I want to try to make some custom stickers. And here's where I need the help of someone with the set(s). Someone at the LDraw forums has been making vector images of the normal Brickheadz prints. And he's fine with making some vector copies of the SDCC prints too, he just needs some scans or photo's of the part. So, if you have these sets or if you know someone with the sets, please let me know Thanks! Btw, I wasn't sure if I had to post this in Licensed or in Special Themes
