  1. Morning all. I've been busy working on a way to remove the stand from the 2024 C-3PO, so he displays a bit better with R2-D2, here's what I've come up with. Luckily the set's original feet aren't connected too securely to the lower legs so it's possible to either reuse parts from the original feet or build entirely new ones so that 3PO can switch between his original base and the free standing feet. Here's what he looks like off his base and you'll find instructions and the inventory on Rebrickable. @rvlmocs over on Instagram kindly offered to test the idea for me as I haven't built the set yet, he confirmed that 3PO is steady enough on his new feet for display and posing. Here's what the new feet look like before being connected. I've also tweaked 3PO's head by changing how his eyes are connected and moving them down by half a stud, this helps make his face look a little less elongated surprised. I'll add pictures once I've done the modifications myself, in the mean time I hope it helps some of you display your C-3PO with R2-D2 a little more naturally.
  2. Hiya! So here is another "Final Mech in this Series" haha! This build was inspired by the limited gold pieces found in my parts collection. They pretty much all came from a Ninjago dragon and some Chima/ Hero Factory constraction sets but they set the tone by giving me the seed parts of the Chima lion heads at the thighs, the big claw bits at the shins, the disks on the chest, the starship bit at the midriff and the big rims on the forearms. I went on a deep dive into Bricklink to see what other parts were available in gold and started building based on what could be colour swapped as Bricklink orders came in. I took the same approach as with Zuckuss; I built the head first and then got everything else to fit which is why these two are bigger than the other Bounty Hunter mechs. My first few attempts left me a bit dejected but once I embraced more of an Episode I vibe it really opened up the options and set the direction for the rest of the build. My goal was for this build to fit into many universes including Flash Gordon, Jules Verne, Steampunk, Dieselpunk and the Dark Tower as well as Star Wars. I started this in February and he was 95% done by the end of June sans some colour swaps from incoming Bricklink orders. He stands 33cm tall and weighs 337g. The 3 minifigs are from Set 7956 Ewok Attack and building the tree took a lot longer than I thought it would! This will be on display at Brickvention in Melbourne in January. Hope you like it! 3. The Search begins... I must find master Skywalker before the Empire does... Huh?...Whatever... Maybe he's still on Endor...it took me a while to get away from those irresistibly cute creatures I really hope he didn't fall in the snow......again... Maybe he traveled back in time to Kamino to avenge Han Solo's carbonation? The chance of this droid successfully leading me out of here is 3514 to 1 MASTER LUKE! I finally found you!!! I'm so glad I found you before the empire did! Luke Skywalker: "um...ok...thanks 3po...?" THE END please leave your comments and suggestions for more of these posts :)
  4. Hi guys, I have just finished another Star Wars MOC. This time I wanted to mess around with the idea of forced perspective and decided to recreate one of my favourite shots from Return of the Jedi. As with all my micro mocs I wanted to stick to the 16x16 base, which in this instance was quite a challenge but eventually I managed to find a way to fit everything I wanted into the scene. The colour palette choice for Jabba's Palace was partly based on the official lego sets of "Jabba's Palace' and 'Rancor Pit' especially the dark grey base for the Palace to sit atop but I decided to go with darker colours for the Palace itself similar to the actual scene from the film. Finally I have recently got hold of the Boushh mini fig (one of my favourites) and so wanted to incorporate her somehow. I then had the idea that Chewie and Liea would have walked the same route to get to Jabba's Palace and so changed the sky to a sunset scene to reflect the time of day they arrived at the Palace. Which do you prefer? C3P0 and R2 or Boushh and Chewie? Also I am thinking of doing some more scenes similar to this, incorporating micro builds and mini figs but wondered if people liked this style? Should I stick to the micro landscapes I have been building or do more scenes in this style?
  5. Hey guys, hope you like this new series! Constructive feedback is highly appreciated . - PART 1 -„Did you hear that! They‘ve shut down the main reactor. We‘ll be destroyed for shure. This is madness!“ STAR WARS: A New Hope This scene was taken in my own Tantive IV Diorama MOC / Tantive IV Main Corridor with Airlock Doorway MOC. - PART 2 -'Imperial Boarding Assault on the Tantive IV (1)' STAR WARS: A New Hope This scene was taken in my own Tantive IV Diorama MOC / Tantive IV Main Corridor with Airlock Doorway MOC.
  6. The Cloud City playset from Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Backs…https://ideas.lego.com/projects/163944 I wanted to design a fun and playable set which would include the ionic scenes from the Empire Strikes Back film. The aim was to create a set that resembles the shape of the cloud city and offers a playable platform like the Death Star play set. I’m a keen Star Wars fan and as Cloud City hasn’t seen a new set since 2003 I thought I would have a go. I hope you enjoy and welcome your creative input into my project. Thanks for your vote…
  7. On Thanos' endless hunt for the six infinity gems, he has sent MODOK to a distant galaxy to hunt for the Space Gem! However, Iron Man and Falcon have followed him, and have made a few allies along the way. Now they battle on Tatooine to prevent each other from nabbing the Space Gem! R2-D2 is now Iron Man's trusty right-hand man - taking on the mind-controlled Stormtroopers! Unbeknownst to this market seller on his cargo sled, he is the owner of the all-powerful Space Gem! Can you see it? (it's the pink gem in the crate) C-3PO provides valuable information to Iron Man behind the holographic display. Falcon provides support from above. The battle is on between Modok in his upgraded chair, and Iron Man! The young, Rodian child must be put out of danger! He was simply working on his podracer engine when this battle arose. Watto emerges from his crooked shack to see what all the noise is about. That's all folks, hope you like it, and please vote for me!
