Have you noticed the new 2024 set Welcome to Emerald City has four new trans green pieces? including a new windscreen piece?
-
Hey all. Here's a MOC I made in Lego Studio. It's a rover inspired by recent trans green windscreens/window pieces and the newish wheel fork. The command module can launch from the rover platform and function as a spaceship. The rover platform can function autonomously or be operated remotely from the command unit. Here's a pic showing the rear window of the main command module with the small cargo unit detached. Thanks for looking! A couple more pics here:

I created this upgrade version of this 1987 space set using only pieces found on the Classic Space theme. Now the spaceship can split into 3 modules, the two cockpits plus a speeder that is the mid secton of the ship. This is the set we should gotten back in 1987!. I created this Futuron theme space lander using pieces available in the 80s and 90s decades. I still don't understand why Lego never gave us something similar to this. The pieces were there, If you enjoy this MOC and want to see more of my stuff, please visit my Facebook group: Lego Space Futuron/Exploriens/SP3 https://www.facebook.com/groups/1421271881962817

When I saw the New Galaxy Explorer 10497 and the alternative builds, I started imagining all the old sets modernized. I started with crafts once I understood the technic and I searched long time to find my own building style as there is no such thing. Here, I'd like to show you my modernized vehicles, in the style of the buggy from the new Galaxy Explorer. I only have one concern about this official buggy: they forgot the antenna >< lol Here is my version of 6823 Surface Transport :-)

10497 Galaxy Explorer is set to retire at the end of this year, 2023. Any ideas on how well or badly it sold? If it sold well, that would encourage LEGO to produce more Classic Space sets. If it didn’t, that would augur badly for CS. It’s known that some LEGO designers have a soft spot for CS, but if sales have been below target, they’d have a hard time making the business case for more. Where I am in the southeast of the UK, most LEGO stores are out of stock of 10497 with no prospect of getting more. You can still get it on lego.com gb the last time I checked. How did it sell where you are? Well? badly? Please say where you are when you reply - thanks.

Hello, this is a rocket that I designed to look like the standard simple rocket design. I haven't found a very strong way to attach the bottom to the main body, so if you have any suggestions for me about how to improve that, I would really appreciate it! https://image.ibb.co/iLfVLn/Simple_Rocket.png Here is a tutorial on how to build it: If you like it, feel free to support it here: https://ideas.lego.com/challenges/1b817aba-3990-4e6d-a17f-7a59a948d02f/application/fad3dc1d-9646-4621-9448-7dd85fad4bdc

Recently I was in the mood to build stuff in space theme. Professionally speaking it's called Neo-Classic Space ;) It means that MOC is referring to the series of LEGO sets from the 80s but with the usage of newer bricks and more modern design. My Lego Space moment is when Lego Brick first meets Outer Space and Classic Space was born. This year is the 40th Anniversary of Classic Space. FLIP the brick over to reveal additional brick and plate pieces that can be combined with the original building bricks to build a Classic Space Station. Both the red and white space minifigs were the first to go into outer space. It is both a commemorative set and a playset. I think this will make a very nice gift set for fans of Classic Space, both young and old. Please vote here if you like the idea. Thanks.

A LUG member challenged people to build a micro lego set like the brickset competition. As a fan of the Robot Command Center, I felt I had to do that. I don't have flicker or instagram. I haven't decided if I will join to enter the contest. All the vehicles except the flyer dock into the robot command center.

What are the odds Lego releases another line that coincides with their Classic Space theme? I would love to see more of that blue and yellow spaceships and bases. Just curious. Sorry if that has been asked before on here, I'm a newer member. Edit: They do show love to the series since they had DLC for a recent Lego game based on the theme

35 years ago LEGO Classic Space 6980 Galaxy Commander was released. So I decided to rebuild this set. But something went wrong … hmm, maybe not a good idea if a trainhead who prefers trains in 7- or 8-wide starts building Classic Space sets ;-) But now enjoy some pics … … and some more over at flickr

Let me introduce you to my new creation. PLAYING IN SPACE SINCE 1978 by Cristiano Grassi, su Flickr Have you ever wondered how our Spacemen Heroes could travel for almost 40 years through space without getting older or bored to death? Here’s your answer. For forty years our heroes have been playing with LEGO bricks! I was reorganizing some minifigs when I found a spaceman that I used to play with when I was a child, having him live the most amazing adventures. And I started wondering “He’ll be 40 in a little while, what’s his secret?” So, I imagined him, together with all his travelling companions, playing with a LEGO Space base for forty years. Maybe it’s true that playing with LEGO bricks keeps you young. What do you think about it? Do you find it new? Interesting? Creative? I had never seen something like this before and it's one of the reasons I've launched the project on LEGO Ideas. Another one is to see our beloved Classic Space minifig come back, or, why not, maybe even a few themed sets could come back. This project could act as a springboard. If you like, here's the link https://ideas.lego.com/projects/b21ccd00-a013-4509-9614-65cdab72ec82. Let me know what you think about it.

Hello everyone. As a huge lover of Classic Space, I have made a LEGO Ideas proposal to celebrate its upcoming 40th anniversary. I would love to hear from anyone who has something constructive to say about my design (I'm new here so please be gentle ;), and if you like my project, well, I sure could use all the support I could get :) I hope this will spark a positive discussion about Classic Space and LEGO's sci-fi-non-Star Wars themes :D https://ideas.lego.com/projects/b0827dea-3bd0-46b2-a733-e2e380fa1794

This train was created for the Brick Model Railroad OcTRAINber contest. Rarely seen on the lunar rails is the classic Space Train. This 69 stud long locomotive is an all-in-one train setup for transporting and launching missiles. Up front is the engineer’s compartment with full computer support to enable one man operations. Behind him is the electrical cabinet with satellite communications dish (PF receiver and AAA battery box). After the transformer is the crew compartment (roof opens for ease of access). Designed for comfort, it includes a bunk, microwave, and small pantry cabinet. Besides the creature amenities, it has two workstations. The right side wall console is primary satellite and orbital management while the aft console is for missile operations. Separated from the crew by a duratanium firewall is the missile bay. Due to the need to launch missile from any location to reach the desired orbit, the train itself is designed as the launch platform. When the top hatch opens, the missile is raised to launch position while doors on the side open up to allow the hot gasses to escape. The locomotive is capable of carrying one missile with satellite payload at a time. Behind the missile storage area is the power reactor, defensive plasma cannon, and thrusters. The plasma cannon turret can rotate 270 degrees around and the barrel can elevate to 80 degrees. The main engines provide the majority of the thrust while cruising the lunar landscape. The Swoosh 69 studs long, Power Function equipped, capable of handling R40 curves, and the lights turn on too! Benny would so approve.

Here is a new moc presented at a recent lego fan show. Builder, my friend Fabrizio Panini. The work required about three years of design and installation. The number of pieces used is about 170,000 pieces (of which 4,000 are trans-yellow only). Many moving parts. 10 XL motors and 10 custom LED cards were used. We do not know the total weight but we used about 15 kg of Technic pieces. I hope this sharing likes you. I will soon upload more videos on the channel. Good Buildings at All!

Hello, This is more of a seeking of ideas rather than a straight up statement. But I'm curious if anyone could provide some more ideas as to why the 497/928 Galaxy Explorer is far more ubiquitous than the 6980 Galaxy Commander? Being the first flagship of course will always make it #1 it seems, but that being put aside, is there anything else that earns it almost all the attention on neo classic space builds, the Lego Movie, etc? It seems with Pirates, there is more of a 45-55 split in terms of the Skull's Eye Schooner vs the Black Seas Barracuda. Of course, a Lugnet rating of 94 for the Galaxy Explorer vs 93 for the Galaxy Commander doesn't show a huge bias, but it just seems that 6980 is missing out sometimes. Any thoughts are appreciated!

Hi, below you'll find my first custom build in about 25 years. I wanted to build this iconic starfighter using only parts from the classic space repertoire up until 1987. I especially like how the foldable foils turned out. There is certainly room for improvement, especially when considering the engines. The nose could use some tweaking as well. MK II is going to be a bit larger in order to accommodate a minifigure and a prototype is sitting on my desk. Unfortunately the folding mechanism is too weak for the increased wingspan, so I will have tinker with this a bit. Anyway, I hope you like it.

My most favorite star fighter. Don't have the $$ to buy the sets so I just made one based on the 6212 set. CS X-Wing Starfighter by nixtron1, on Flickr

Hallo, this is my first attempt to build MOC in LDD. Classic space has been my favourite theme of my childhood, but nowadays I have no bricks of it. I just started to collect some Technic sets last year and its too expensive for me to spend money for more then one theme, so I'll stay to build other themes in digital. This one wasn't designed properly, It was just pure play and fun. http://bricksafe.com/files/muffinbrick/digital-builds/spaceship01/space_01-1.png http://bricksafe.com/files/muffinbrick/digital-builds/spaceship01/space_01-2.png

This building is my most recent form of Benny's Spaceship Shop. It sells all things Space themed, with Benny making model rockets in the back and a large model space city in the front window. Benny also lives on the upper floor. I already have the car, and just need to make the building in real life. please note, some prints are missing from the model: The sloped 4x2 sign out front is actually this piece: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=30363pb021#T=C&C=7 While the arch in the window display should feature this print: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=4490pb02&idColor=7#T=C&C=7 Benny's upstairs living quarters include a stove, sink and bed while downstairs is the model space city and check out counter with model rocket. The 2x2 tile in front of the model rocket should be printed like this: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=3068bpb0353#T=C&C=1 The rear of the building features a loading dock. I was inspired to build this model after seeing the dark red half-track / truck in set 60071, Hovercraft Arrest. The model looked easy to duplicate, but it proved difficult to create an exact copy. I then decided to take it in a another direction and create a generic American 1950's car, which eventually got turned into this version of Benny's Classic Space themed automobile. The model features a row of space-ship styled seats and "double" tail lights. (I used a trans-red grille to create a nice effect.) the white tile above the rear bumper is supposed to be Benny's license plate. The CS logo part on the trunk is the same one from the store sign above the door. LDD file for the car and building: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1446486318m.lxf
