In the last period I've seen many "C" clips (such as this one) from my sets that lost their clutch power. So I've car doors that falls in a creator set, wing opened thanks to gravity in my micro x-wing, and so on... I'm trying to find an effective way to restore or at least improve the clutch power. For minifigure hands is almost easy, that because I can use a round 1x1 place, place it over the hand and leave it for days/weeks/months... At the end of the period the slight deformation is enough to restore a bit of clutch power. Different kettle of fish for the "C" clips, where round plate don't fit. Any idea different from using a bench vise?

I already posted this technique in the History Theme section along with the MOC I used it in, but I thought this technique could be highly useful in many other themes so I'm posting it here. As far as I know, this is new and nobody has done this before. Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, I came up with this on my own while I was toying around with my connections. The ratcheted hinge piece and the clip fit together naturally and they form a smooth hinge (really nice for me as I do not have the old hinges). -
When Lego redesigned the 1x1 tile with clip (15712) to be rounded like a minifigure hand, it became possible to wedge a tile inside the clip. However, this technique seems to have been used only rarely, I'm only aware of it appearing in the retired UCS Shield Helicarrier (76042, for the nanofigure control room) and the Creator Blue Jet (31039, for the heads up display). I've not even seen this used in many MOC's, so my first question is, why not, is it bad for the parts? I was hoping to use this technique on a MOC with 1x2 grille tiles to represent micro-scale safety railings: However, in real life the tile-in-clip assembly is very stiff. It's hard to get the tile into the clips, though it does snap in. However, the tile seems to prefer sitting in the clip at an angle (as done in the helicarrier) instead of going in straight (like the heads up display on the creator Blue Jet). So is this technique really "legitimate"? Does it strain or damage the parts? Is it safe to do this to the grille tiles, which have much less plastic to force apart the clip? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts or see MOCs where this has been done.
