I'm at it again! Last year I made a few Transformers beasts using official LEGO sets. And experience gained led to try and built another one , using LEGO Creator 31152 this time! THe biggest challenge unique to this project was using the remaining parts to built the animal tail! Most of the ball joints from the set have already being utilized, so I'm forcing myself to be creative to find a way to implement its tail. Builders remorse crept in while shooting photos of this MOC: I should've built a longer tail! The hind legs are locked in. However, this doesn't stop it from displaying a "ready-to-pounce" stance. Is it just me, or, now that I'm getting ready to set up my Winter Village stuff, does the Friends Snow Resort line look like they're only a few alterations (and a bit of stripping out the pink) away from fitting in nicely alongside the Winter Village sets? This is more pertinent to the Chalet and Ice Rink sets than the Ski Lift and Off-Roader. What does everyone think? EDIT: And the Hot Chocolate Van! I completely forgot the Van . . which is more of a take it or leave it set for Winter Village applications, depending on what time period you picture your Village in (and how much you like hit chocolate).

Welcome to Winterfield Academy, the premier arts academy for all of your minifigs! Governed by Headmistress Elba Rieter, this academy specializes in the arts! The first floor includes a grand entrance hall with front desk and a platform for a train station (Behind the school are tracks on which the Orient Express can arrive). The first floor also contains the dining hall, a trophy room, and the grand spiral staircase that ascends three stories. The second story includes a large choir classroom, a picture-lined hallway, a store closet that I'll soon be converting into a lavatory, and Headmistress Rieter's office. And the third floor/roof contains a ballet/dance studio and classroom, as well as a large portion that I haven't decided what to do with yet. But I think it's going to end up being the dormitory. I'm also planning on possibly doing a stop motion video series set around one of my mini figures encountering mystery and murder at the school! So we'll see how that goes. This was one of my first large-scale MOCs, that came before the Orient Express Thriller or Winterfield Academy were even conceived! (back in 2014) I had watched the miniseries for "The Shining", and I've always been enamored with National Park lodges. So, the product was The Glacier Falls Lodge, the official lodge for Brickler Mountain National Park! A perfect getaway destination/luxury hotel catering to any minifig's vacation needs! This MOC went through at least six different iterations, before finally being pared down to a (very) downsized version fit for LEGO Ideas. At its prime, though, the Lodge contained an enormous lobby, full dining room and kitchen, and several guest rooms upstairs, with two bathrooms per floor (kind of in the style of Chico Hot Springs in Montana). The first iteration was built in 2014, during that summer we had a major fire that caused us to evacuate. This hotel was thrown in a box and taken with us in a car at night fleeing to Seattle. Later, when the fire season was over and we returned, the hotel sat on the desk for several months without being worked on. The Second Iteration had a change to the tower, it was more octagonal and separated from the roof. And I used the Town Hall Skylights for the Lobby. The Third Iteration sadly has no pictures, as my computer had crashed and we lost them. But it was pretty ugly. I had the idea to try and make octagonal towers on either side of the main doors, with the idea not turning out very well. That iteration was fragile, and fell apart easily. The Fourth Iteration was a HUGE model, with an upgraded, fancier porch and a sign out front! This was also when I made it into more of a Victorian style hotel, with a large wrap around porch, and the two towers on either side. These were half-octagonal towers, which made it a lot easier to stay together. (I had actually figured out how to build them, and gotten the pieces for it). The roof was a major challenge, but we made it work! This iteration also had an enormous, well thought out and beautifully built dining room, as well as a large kitchen with three to four walk in freezers! The Fifth Iteration was downsized in terms of length to make it fit through the door, lol! The basic hotel structure remained the same, however, with the exception of a large rearranging of the rooms inside. This was the first project that I submitted to LEGO Ideas, before having to downsize it again for it to be accepted. This was by far the best iteration of the six, and the only one we have interior pictures of. 5th Iteration furniture and Grand Fireplace 5th Iteration First Floor Porch Detail Lobby Facing the Dining Room Lobby picture 2 Piano Music Room Lobby Picture 3 The cool part was that the interior walls of the 5th Iteration were removable! 1st/2nd floors This was also the first iteration to have major interior decorating and fancy chandeliers! The 6th and Final Iteration of this MOC kept most of the basic structure, subtracting much of the width, in order to make the 3000 piece LEGO Ideas limit. This unfortunately was at the cost of sacrificing the entirety of the interior minus several pieces of furniture. This iteration currently, sadly does not exist anymore. It was torn down and the pieces used for Winterfield Academy (pictured below) However the 6th Iteration is still up on LEGO Ideas right now, and currently has 2036 Supporters! I own the pet shop and the fire brigade, my sister owns the green grocer, the grand emporium, the palace cinema and the town hall, she isn't into LEGO anymore, but she keeps them as ornaments.

I built this little diner to fit into my Modular town. It occupies a single base plate and can serve as an end cap to a row of buildings, but has facades on three sides. For the Celebricktion event in Atlanta earlier in October, I decided to build a new Modular for our LUG train layout. So, I built a little fast food joint. Here's the entrance: And right above it, a spacious loft apartment perfect for inner city living: Step inside the restaurant for a bite to eat: Then relax on a fall afternoon on your rooftop garden patio: Inside, the restaurant takes up most of the ground floor: Place your order at the counter: Then sit down to enjoy your meal: The upstairs resident keeps his apartment neat: He can always cook in his modern kitchen if he's not craving burgers from downstairs: After a hard day's work, it's always fun to relax with games and movies: On the top floor, you find the bedroom and bath: Where finally, he gets a good night's sleep in his cozy bed: Thanks for looking! Hi everybody, I'm thinking in purchase the 10214 Tower Bridge and turn it into a modular building MOC. It would be my first attempt to build my own MOC. I'm not interested on the set itself, but I feel that has a lot of possibilities to switch it into a nice building. My question are: has anybody attempted this? Any examples? Do you think it's a good choice to start with? Thanks in advance!

I haven't had much time for building this year so I'm going to declare my London-style hat shop done (even though it still needs some work here and there). I'm posting it and adding it to my modular street. The first floor is hat shop. The black tiles on the sides are chalkboards for daily advertisements. I may create stickers for these in the future. Right now there is a sale on pith helmets (which are wonderfully stackable). You can't really see in this photo but the mirror piece from the detective office is built into the dresser with the clock. Upstairs is a small apartment with a bedroom loft reached by ladder. You know a building is doomed when you start stealing pieces from it for another project. The interior is in ruins already, but I thought it was worth taking a photo of the facade to share. This was supposed to be a bank or maybe a library or maybe a museum. It's a bit undersized for a modular and that was bothering me. Inspired by this real bank in Staunton, VA.

I started work as soon as the set was released and now it has been standing idle for months, with some 10 pieces still missing, plus the interior... Who knows if it's ever going to be 100 % complete, so I might as well show you what I've got. This post http://www.eurobrick...5 from mid-January is where I started – Klaus-Dieter's excellent review got me inspired and I spent some hours on LDD to see what I could come up with, staying true to the original but sizing it up to become a full-scale modular at the same time. So may I present to you the Modular Corner Deli, consisting of two 31050 sets plus extra bricks from BrickLink, PAB and my collection: The upper floors are more or less a copy-paste version of the original façade. As long as the building doesn't get any higher or wider than this, I don't think it looks too repetitive or unimaginative. To alter the colours of the flowers gives some small variation to it, too. (Note that on the top floor, some pieces are still missing by the window.) This side includes the entrance to the upper floors on the left. The soda (?) machine comes from Toy & Grocery Shop 31036 (I don't know about you but when I get multiples of some set in order to create something larger, as in this case the modular 31036, I tend to build the minibuilds and use them later for other creations to add details. I still have one ATM from Bike Shop & Café 31026 that waits for its placement...) and the rather generic postal box... wait, I don't even remember where it comes from! The fire hydrants are 31050 originals. The bubble gum machine comes from Toy & Grocery Shop 31036. I wanted to keep both the original hamburger signs, so I simply placed them next to each other. To place them, or one of them, in the corner didn't look as nice to me, but I think they fit in well here. The entrance to the deli is on the right. Clumsy guy stands where the lamppost should be – I've run out of them for now. The ground floor façade strongly derives from the upper floors with lots and lots of cheese bricks and a large amount of leftover dark orange bricks from my Town Hall 10224 enlargement project. The back side is very plain. All those medium blue 1x2s from the PAB walls finally came in handy here! The back door leads to nowhere for now – I haven't finished the staircase and hallway and don't know whether I'll make it a backdoor to the hallway or to the deli. The top floor. No real interior here – apart from the thanksgiving table from 40123 and the recliner from 40125. The middle floor is furnished, though, thanks to the Big Bang Theory set 21302. I'm not a fan of the series, but I liked the minifigs (lots of special torsos) and all the detailed furniture, so this is where it went. It's a strange apartment, really – a study corner, a living room corner but no kitchen and no bedroom. Perhaps on the top floor some day? The Deli isn't ready yet, either. The only part that has been completed, save for the floor tiling, is the kitchen. There will be a seating area for eat-in customers and maybe a toilet – depends on what I do with that backdoor. I'd love to hear what you think. I'm happy with the façade and I hope to get inspired enough to complete the Deli interior. For the top floor, I'm not really that sure. Just another apartment – they're kind of boring in my opinion.

This model is a modified CREATOR set called Lighthouse Point. (set number 31051) I removed the light-up brick and as such changed the top of the tower, along with tweaking the inside details and adding a custom Lighthouse keeper out of 1990's mini-figure parts. The model has modular parts out the wazoo, with a whopping 10 building sections. (their was one one more module from the set, but I removed it before taking pictures.) The set also comes with a killer whale / orca. You may have also noticed I had a bunch of trans - yellow bricks from a Classic Space build left over. They made a good replacement for the light brick. The inside features a table, lamp, and mounted instrument from the early days of sailing.... though this device measures where you are via the sun, so what is it doing on a stationary lighthouse? (The yellow chairs I added myself, along with the red soda can.) The set contains 10 modules as follows, (in no particular order): Tower top with light, building roof, building proper, small dock, exposed small rock, exposed large rock, tower foundation, two red tower modules, and a white tower module. This cute critter comes with the main model of set 31051. His flippers move, his tail flops around, and his jaw opens to swallow fish.... or unwitting swimming mini-figures! Thier is no LDD file for this build, but it shouldn't be too hard to recreate what I did, right? Comments, Questions, and Complaints welcome!

Hi everyone It's been a while since I've posted any new MOC's on Eurobricks but I wanted to show the latest project I've been working on called "Red London Telephone Box". In the past I've included miinifig scale phone box's in a couple of my other MOCs, which gave me the idea of building a much more detailed, large scale model of this British cultural icon. Although the red phone box can be found throughout the UK my model is based on an early version of the phone box called the "K2" which was designed specifically for use in London. As well as the phone box itself I've also included a red British pillar box and a street lamp complete with hanging flower baskets and plant pots. The front door can be opened to reveal a vintage telephone and detailed interior. LEGO IDEAS Thanks for checking out my latest MOC and I hope you like it.
