  1. I originally built this 103-stud long 1920's Adventurers tramp steam ship from two Adventurers sets: I enlarged the ship from set 5975 - T-Rex Transport and modified it to resemble the vessel from set 5976 - River Expedition. The resulting ship (which is named the Eastern Star) features a lifeboat, steering wheel, and a smokestack plus I have the bridge with removable roof for the top deck of the ship, and captain's quarters for the lower floor. Currently, an ornithopter (inspired by set 70913 - Scarecrow Fearful Face-off) is being transported, as well as a live T-Rex in a cage. The ladders hanging on the side of the lower deck lead the way to the ship's bridge on the upper level. The life boat is also located back here. This T-Rex (from set 6720 - Tyrannosaurus Rex) looks none to happy about being caged! The bridge features a nautical telegraph / engine controls and the wheel. The lower level features the captain's quarters, with a table full of priceless relics and ancient maps... plus a dynamite plunger. NOTES: I built this ship in 2018, added the dinosaur and cage in 2022, and finally got around to taking photos in 2024... sorry for the 6-year long wait! Thoughts?

  3. The T-rex is the apex predator in the Cretaceous age, and the most perfect masterpiece evolution has ever managed to accomplish. Because 65 million years after its extinction, it is still the biggest and most powerful carnivore ever walked the earth. When I first watch Jurassic Park, I was immediately captivated by the power and beauty of the T-rex, and hopelessly fell in love with her. And what beats watching a T-rex movie? Building one yourself! At 59 cm length and 930 grams weight, This model is possibly the world*’s largest posable T-rex that stands on its own. * LEGO world :-) For more pics of the beast, please visit me on flickr: https://flic.kr/s/aHskCpW3Se Features: 1. It grew bigger as the building went on, for we are all greedy in the detail department. As a result, at a certain moment, It suddenly hit me that this thing may never be able to stand on its own when finished, and that would be an ultimate bummer (Yes, it’s my second MOC, I never knew LEGO was so heavy!). But due to a technique (mixel joints served as tendons), a lot of time and effort put into banlancing, and many compromises made to aesthetics, the completed T-rex stands on its own. (It may not pose a problem for digital building, but I consider this the No.1 feature of this build.) 2. Play features: This beast is not only a display piece, It is moderately posable thanks to a lot of joints. And it has to be from the conveiving because there are so many cool postures and it would be a waste of bricks if it ends up to be just a statue. Again, aesthetics has to give way… to gaps. But the very essence of LEGO saves the day again: with a few parts (modules) added or removed, the gaps left by maneuvers can be covered. 3. Sturdy. Every time I had to choose between appearance and sturdiness, I chose the latter, for which I think is a virtue of official sets. 4. I try to get the proportions as real as possible. Oftentimes I see a T-rex MOC, the head is over-sized to stress the beast's ferociousness and the feet are disproportionately large to increase stability. 5. Stud-Not-On-Top design, and all “legal” LEGO parts and techniques. The T-rex is a LEGO Ideas project, if you like it please support me at https://ideas.lego.com/projects/146539 . Thank you so much :-) Check another of my posts, Extreme Evolution: Arctic Triceratops: http://www.eurobrick...opic=135937&hl=
  4. Accordidng to Wikipedia, Some triceratops could grow up to over 9 meters long and weigh more than 12 tons. That put them in the same weight class as the ultimate predator T-rex. So their only appearance inJurassic Park obviously didn't do them justice size-wise. And if you know anything about polar bears, you would know Arctic beasts usually grow larger than their relatives in other regions of the world. Imagine how powerful and beautiful this creature must be. Features: 1. Play features. It is not a statue. It's moderately posable with tons of joints. I made it this way so it could fight a T-rex in the short movie below. You can have more poses with a few modules added or removed. 2. Sturdy. Every time I had to choose between appearance and sturdiness, I chose the latter, for which I think is a virtue of official sets. 3. Stud-Not-On-Top design, and all “legal” LEGO parts and techniques. The Triceratops is a LEGO Ideas project, if you like it please support me at https://ideas.lego.com/projects/144697 . Thank you so much :-)
  5. Hello, I am new here. I made a MOC about T-rex vs Triceratops. But I am not sure which section of this forum most fits them. Thank you for some directions. Here is a sample image. and my LEGO Ideas project Extreme Evolution: Arctic Triceratops Your support would mean a lot to me. Thank you.
  6. Hey everyone! I built this dinosaur for a commission. It's to scale with minifigures and has 19 points of articulation! Any comments and critiques are appreciated. You can click any of the above images, or go to my Flickr to see a few more.
  7. Been having fun with my Nexo Knights, some knock-off Dinosaurs and Legend Beasts, some real Lego Legend Beasts and a random Mixel. I thought it'd be fun for each knight to have an animal steed instead of vehicles. What kind of things would you like to see in Nexo Knights? Anybody else found any cool knock offs online that you wish were part of the franchise?
  8. First, if this is in the wrong section I apologize. I figure it would go in Town because it's a park. Now, onto the actual business. As close to minifigure scale as I could, I have recreated the Park set from the children's TV show "Barney & Friends." This one took quite a bit of time and looking at reference pics (as well as digging into my own memories). It's a build I don't think many people would think to do, and I'm pretty positive with how it turned now. It's exactly 3,025 pieces. Let's go and take a look. A general overview of the park. Here we can see everything, from the gazebo, the knoll, the exterior of the caboose, the playset and the toolshed. Of course, would this be Barney without the titular purple dinosaur and his friends? Included (from left to right) are Melanie, Riff, Barney, Baby Bop (with blankey) BJ, and David minifigures. Here is the gazebo, a bench, and leading up to the bridge and ramps. A better view of the bridge and pond. Here is the playground and a bit of the grassy knoll. Here is the outside of the caboose. This part was actually pretty difficult to do, because I wanted it to be big enough for Barney to actually stand there, as he is actually able to do. Of to the left you can see the Idea Chair. In the center is the hopscotch squares. And here are the stepping stones and the toolshed. And here are some pictures I used for reference. I hope you all enjoyed this one. Comments and criticism welcome.

  10. I haven't found any review of awesome set 75936 here at eurobricks so let me write one for you. Set's main highlight is the biggest brick-build dinosaur released by The LEGO Group so far. It was the reason why I got this set - I wanted to build this huge dino. It also contains Jurassic Park gate that is not very interesting for me so I'm gonna focus on C. rex. Set Information Set number: 75936 Name: Jurassic Park: C. rex Rampage Year released: 2019 Pieces: 3120 RRP: $249.99 / 249.99€ Box and Packaging Box is huge - its size is comparable with big Creator Expert sets and other big sets targeted to adults like for example Hogwards Castle. Box is also pretty heavy and almost completely full. When you open it you get 30 bags of parts numbered 1 to 15, loose 16x16 tan plate and two instruction manuals packed together with sticker sheet in plastic bag. The first manual is for C. rex and the other for gate so you can build both parts simultaneously with your friend. Sticker sheet contains only 7 stickers so I decided to apply them although I don't do it usually. Building C. rex So let's start building the biggest dinosaur! Bags with number 1 contain parts for lower part of body and neck. Bags with number 2 adds upper part of body and tail. It looks little bit strange but I did all steps from building instructions correctly so I shouldn't bother about it. Level of detail is really high - you can even see place where "waste" leaves C. rex's body. Body is finished with bags numbered 3. You also add second segment of neck in this phase. Bags with numbers 4 and 5 contain parts for right and left leg. I think legs are the best part of whole model. They have organic shape and I especially like texture on ankles and claws. Designer used similar hip joint to one used in Voltron to keep C. rex stable when standing on two legs. Building continues with bags number 6 and they contain WINGS?!? This stopes being funny! I'm checking instructions once more and they really mean "wings". Now it doesn't resemble dinosaur at all... And finally last bags (with number 7) for C. rex contain parts for its head. I built it and understood all including letter "C" in name of dinosaur - I've got life-size Chicken! Or exactly Chicken rex... It looks like designers from TLG have good sense of humor... You can see it at next picture with medium size egg. Building gate It took me more than week to force myself to build it after I finished C. rex. So making long story short it took me 4 hours to build Jurassic Park gate. It features opening door and 6 small vignettes at rear side. They are full of nice details but I would prefer just C. rex and no gate at all (with corresponding discount from set prise). You can see both sides of gate at following pictures. Last set of bags with number 15 also contain stand for minifigures. Complete model When you put C. rex, gate and stand with minifigures together you get huge display piece. Especially gate is as large as I don't have enough space to display it anywhere at my home so I took it apart right after I finished taking its pictures. What is more interesting is amont of leftover parts. It looks like it is possible to build something else from this set too... I think I found their purpose - you can build your own dinosaur from them, at least little one. Here is one action shot: And detail of minifigures on stand - it looks like C. rex likes Ellie... Conclusion This set is definitely great piece of LEGO art and I like C. rex so much. It is also the biggest creature I built out of LEGO bricks so far. It is well designed and joints have enough friction to keep it in various poses though in some possitions they are reaching their limits. Gate is nice addition but if I could choose I would take just C. rex without it. I hope you found this short review informative and entertaining. Let me know in comments what you think about it. This review is expression of my own opinioins. And yes, it is late April fools joke. Set 75936 doesn't contain building instructions for Chicken rex but for Tyrannosaur. You can get building instructions for C. rex at rebrickable.com If you wanna read more serious review of set 75936 I recommend you these: https://brickset.com/article/44264/review-75936-jurassic-park-t-rex-rampage https://www.brothers-brick.com/2019/06/17/lego-75936-jurassic-park-t-rex-rampage-the-biggest-lego-dino-ever-review-interview/
  11. I think Triceratops is one of popular dinosaurs. I like Triceratops too. :) So this time I built Triceratops Dinosaur.
  12. I'm not much of a creature builder but I really wanted to try my hand at a dino for the Jurassic World Ideas contest. Triceratops being my favorite type of dinosaur, it just remained to find a good hybrid creature... and what better than a lion? This triceratops features a rotating neck and head (two separate segments) and articulated hip, knee, and ankle joints for significant poseability! I have a pretty small dark yellow collection but with a bit of work I made it last and even managed to incorporate that large Nexo Knights body armor piece! There's something pretty cat-like about the back view, I think it's the short bristling spikes. And that's all folks! C&C welcome and thanks for stopping by!

  14. Yes! this my 3rd rendition of LEGO Snapdragon since the very first one made I about 15 years ago (when I first rekindled my passion with LEGO as an adult) VERSION 1 (2004) Back then most of the parts I used came from LEGO sets so I just make do with whatever colors I had. More photos here: Snap Dragon: A LEGO® creation by Yap Alan : MOCpages.com VERSION 2 (2012) Leaps and bound improvement over v1. I was pretty satisfied with the outcome then. I even cloned 2 extra copies of this creation to be displayed in a LEGO exhibition in 2015 .. so visitors can see all 3 modes More photos here: Fall of Cybertron Snapdragon Triple Changer: A LEGO® creation by Yap Alan : MOCpages.com On retrospect, I found version 2 to be pretty dated now with a few design glitch > like protruding robot head on the jet undercarriage > weak jet nosecone design that tend to detach easily > shoulders too wide (think "ROTF Leader Class Optimus Prime") > robot back kibble jutting out at a weird angle. VERSION 3 (2019) What meant to be a quick 1 week project , dragged on to about 2 weeks: My overzealousness got the better of me. Part of the long list of to-fix's: > Every nooks and corners were rebuilt to strengthen weak hinges > Rounder/more cylindrical arms. > Nosecone-kibble tucked in more neatly to the robot's back. > beast head too funny-looking. off with the buck teeth! > narrower shoulders. ..and of coz... a color scheme closer to his G1 toy version. more photos here: Alanyuppie's LEGO Transformers: LEGO Triple Changer Snapdragon version 3 Alan Yap (@alanyuppie78) • Instagram photos and videos Alanyuppie's Brick Adventures Alan Yap's LEGO Transformers

  16. For my first published MOC I did an alternate for one of my favorite Creator 3-in-1 sets to date: the 31102 Fire Dragon. Dinosaurs are a popular choice for animal alternates, but I saw nothing from the velociraptor family yet, so I had to fix that! My primary goal within this project was to create a model that would be a reasonably accurate depiction of an avian dromaeosaurid, with the correct number of claws, that would also be fun to pose and play with. The final result exceeded my expectations in many ways. This thing can hold its balance very well for bipedal model! The adjustable feet claws and bendable knees resting on solid joints can support the body in a variety of complex stances, without falling over the weight of the heavier head. The tail can also bend sideways, meaning additional weight can be shifted if required to hold more precarious positions. The Pterosaur was a little extra made of the leftover bricks. I thought the raptor needed a pal or some form of prey to hunt. I think it also turned out pretty well given the limitations of the remaining parts. The longer tail (which is not necessarily accurate), was needed for the model to be able to hold a flight pose. Let me know what you think in the comments, and send a picture if you build it! 18. In the vein of HawkMech, here's another MOC built using parts from 31008 Thunder Wings. I wanted to build a Stegosaurus-like dinosaur, but the parts wouldn't allow it, so I invented one, with a single row of dorsal plates and one pair of spikes in the thagomizer. As the plates are so tall and in a single row, it also reminded me of a Dimetrodon, hence this MOC's name being a mixture of the two. The biggest challenge I faced was the tail: how to make something thin, centred, and able to oscillate side-to-side (for defence against predators), using this limited selection of parts? I managed it with some SNOT, and even so it ended up looking a little weird. "I'm evolving, I'll be a biped!" "When you gotta go, you gotta go!" "Won't somebody pet my belly?"

  20. In a post apocalyptic world where machinery is rare and mostly doesn´t work, nomadic people rely on domesticated dinosaurs to travel and get from one place to another. This guy is part of one nomadic family and with his fast Velociraptor,he´s there to scout the nearby area for anyimminent danger. Since he´s not alone,he only has some sparce luggage packed in the saddle. His well trained raptor is carrying a body armor made out of wood and metal, enough to protect it from minor attacks by local tribes and still light enough so the raptor can travel at great speeds. 22. Hey and welcome to Jurassic Park! Over the last weeks I built 18 scenes to honor the classic movie from '93. By a lucky coincidence I was first reading the book in spring, before I got the opportunity to write a review of the new T.rex rampage set for New E. Of course I had to re-watch the movie to do so properly and immediately got inspired to build the different scenes myself: The movie begins at the dig site where Ellie Sattler and Alan Grant find a velociraptor. They get interrupted by Mr. Hammond who invites the two to visit his island. "We spared this!" - "For today" Meanwhile Dennis Nedry has a suspicious meeting: "Dodgson, we've got Dodgson here! See nobody cares." The two paleontologists arrive at Isla Nublar and discover what Hammond is up to: He is breeding dinosaurs. Hammond and Nedry have a conflict: "Dennis, our lives are in your hands, and you have butterfingers?" Together with the layer Gennaro and Hammond's grandkids Tim and Lexi they start tour through Jurassic Park. Besides a sick Triceratops they are not lucky with seeing any dinosaurs. To find the reason for the Triceratops sickness Ellie doesn't eschew any unusual actions. "Dino... droppings?" Nedry has shut down the security system to steal the dinosaur embryos. While on the way back the power is gone, the cars stop right in front of the paddock and the T. rex brakes out. When you gotta go, you gotta go... On the way to the docks Nedry takes a wrong turn, crashes the jeep and learns the hard way that Dilophosaurus spit. The T. rex has pushed the Ford Explorer with Timi inside down in the moat, where it lands in a tree. Ian Malcolm gets saved, but peculiar ripples in the puddle and a recurring booming noises predict the Tyrannosaur is coming back. "Must go faster!" Shells of velociraptor eggs proof that the dinosaurs are breeding eventhough all dinosaurs are told to be female: "Life found a way!" Ellie gets to the maintenance and switches the power back on, but gets surprised by a raptor. After their adventures tour Tim and Lexi want to get something to eat, but get interrupted by two velociraptors and flee in the kitchen. In an action packed last scene Alan and the group try too flee from the Raptors and climb down in the foyer of the visitor center. Before the Raptors can attack them the T-rex appears in last second and saves the day. A click on the pictures brings you to flickr or you can check out the full album here. Most of the used techniques were also explained in my Storys on Instagram. (Unfortunately only available with account.) I hope you like the series. I did and was quite surprised how many different locations the movie offered. I had expected to build much for forest and foliage. If you want to build your own Ford Explorer or Jurassic Park Jeep you can find the instructions here. Best, Jonas
  23. Recently i posted a little MOC of with a Raptor used as a riding animal for a Scout in a postapocalyptic world. Today i want to show you the rest of the family, which even includes a huge Tyrannosaurus Rex as the family´s main mode of transportation to explore the world. The large dinosaur carries the whole family and their supplies they need during their travel. While the scout is escorting next to the T-Rex on his Raptor, his Wife is on the rear lookout on the large dinosaur. Meanwhile his son if goofing off with grandpa on the back of the T-Rex and the triggerhappy brother of his wife sits on the left flank on the lookout chair to look for food and trouble. In case you didn´t know, getting a T-Rex to do and walk where you want needs a patient and very experienced animal trainer and rider. This role is fullfilled by the old and wise grandpa, who raised the T-Rex from an abandoned Egg. This large animal was fitted with a platform that provides room to sit on and the sides act as storage of supplies and additionaly as armor.I mean,in these parts of the world, you never know what you are up against.
