  1. It was another busy day in Mesabi Landing with the construction of Library of Learning. Count Mesabi was showing off the new structure to his beloved wife Agnes. Library of learning by North White, on Flickr "This structure will finally put Mesabi Landing on the map!" Said Count Mesabi "Because Libraries are such tourist attractions." Replied Agnes "I think you'll like it." Library of learning by North White, on Flickr "Who's the librarian? She's new." Asked Agnes "I don't know, she just kinda appeared when we started putting books in." Replied Count Mesabi "Huh." Library of learning by North White, on Flickr "Check out this rug! I special ordered it from MAESTRO." Said Count Mesabi excitedly. "It's a little small. There's a lot of boxes in here. Are you using this as storage!" replied Agnes "We only have like 20 books. it's a shame to waste the space." Agnes sighed. She walked over to a bookshelf. Library of learning by North White, on Flickr "This is a heavy book. A history of Corrington. Hmmm...." She hurled the book at Count Mesabi. Library of learning by North White, on Flickr The book knocked him over. He grunted in pain. "Now, let's talk about building me a house, SO I DON'T HAVE TO SLEEP ON A SHIP ANYMORE!" Yelled Agnes Count Mesabi sighed. FIN Thanks for viewing my latest build. C&C appreciated, but I do know the build could be a lot better. I kinda ran out of time before I leave for college. Which is thursday. . That and I dropped it once and had to rebuild it. Oh well.
  2. "FIRE!!!!" yelled the artillery sergeant as the rocket burst in to the air. As the artillery men went about testing their new prototype rocket they were watched by Leftenant Gibson of the Engineers and Captain Bowles of the Royal Navy. The Army had already approved the prototype rocket for use but the Navy was rather reluctant. "I don't doubt their combat effectiveness Leftenant, but what are the chances they hit the rigging of our own ships, the potential damage is devastating" yelled Captain Bowles trying to be heard over the screeching sound of the rocket. "I understand sir, however the Navy already makes use of mortars on board ships these rockets wouldn't need to be positioned differently from them" replied Leftenant Gibson trying to sound as if he believed it himself despite the fact he knew it wasn't true. "Leftenant, I think it best we end our conversation here, I will not endanger our ships by fitting them with these machines, the potential harm they may cause us simply outweighs any harm we could cause the enemy. However I can approve your rockets for Marines when on land, Good day Leftenant." said the Captain before he left. The Leftenant knew he would never be able to get his rockets onto Navy ships so the marines were the best he could hope for, he let out a small smile while watching another rocket being launched into the air. Meanwhile Captain Fernsby had just landed and was headed to the rendezvous camp with Leftenant Miller, Leftenant Williams and Sergeant Davies. As he entered the camp he was greeted by three men none of which he had met before. "Greetings Captain Fernsby, my name is Captain Abbot, this is Mr. Bardsley representative of the ETTC and this is Leftenant Downer of the Royal Engineers. Apologies for the quick introductions but if you will please follow me, we have much to discuss before our departure in the morning." ____________________________________________________________ The first build is my poor attempt at mimicking Ayrlego's building style in Port Woodhouse, it will be licensed as a small educational using my free license. Any criticism is welcome as I would really like to improve my building style. The second build is the interior of the building as I found the first build a little bit lacking, its nothing really special but it was kind of fun to attempt the inside of a building for a change. The third build is to continue Captain Fernsby's story, it's completely unrelated to the Office of the Royal Corps of Engineers but I didn't think it warranted it's own topic and I don't want to fill it out as it's own freebuild as it seems a bit cheap seen as though I didn't put as much effort into it as I would have liked due to time restraints. Anyway sorry for my poor photography, I need a new camera its just whenever I go to buy a new one I come home with a bunch of new lego but no new camera. -Thanks
  3. Hi everyone, I'm here today to present you my latest creation : a theatre stage and is modular background. Inspired by the look of one of the most important public theatres in France during the seventeenth century - the Théâtre du Palais-Royal –, this MOC makes possible to represent all the comedies you want ! The main part of this MOC is the stage itself and, of course, the arc of stage with the curtain. The arc uses some Lego architecture building techniques to represent with the most accuracy the Palais-Royal's arc of stage as we know it from archive's documents. This is the very one place where Moliere has represented his most famous plays. Thanks to a few techniques pieces hidden inside the structure, the built is very strong and can be easily handled without breaking. At the back of the theater, there is a very simple mecanisme who makes possible the openning of a trappe on the stage. There also a little door who makes possible to stock extra pieces and minifigure's accessories under the stage. These pieces and minifigure's accessories come from the other part of this project. Indeed, beside the stage, this MOC come with a secondary kit of pieces. Inspired by the rebuilt's process "3 in 1" from the Creator's modeles, this set of pieces makes possible to build several stage background and accessories to represent multiple wealthy interiors : the « salon » who come with a sedan chair ; the scientist's cabinet with a telescope ; the diner's room with a table, an armchair and a carpet ; and the bedroom with, of course, the bed ! And finaly, this MOC uses five minifigures who represent actors and actresses. As real actor changing costume between differents plays, these minifigures can exchange heads, hairs and accessories to incarne different characters. This MOC make possible to represent at least six comedies of Molière, the most famous playwriter on french literature : Dom Juan, Tartuffe, The Misanthrope, The Imaginary Invalid (Le Malade imaginaire), The Learned Ladies (Les Femmes savantes) and The Affected Young Ladies (Les Précieuses ridicules). But, of course, minifigures and pieces can be used to build any other play ! I have presented this MOC on Lego Ideas because I think it could be a really cool Lego set for everyone ! So, if you like it, you could support it and share it ! ;-) (you also can see other picture with more close up on Ideas) Thank you everyone, don't hesitate to leave a comment to tell me what do you think of this MOC !
  4. Location: The University of Tiberia, Arlinsport, Tiberia Type: Royal Project Piece (This takes place sometime in 621) It was another pleasant day in Arlinsport. The well manucrued lawns of the University of Tiberia fluttered gently in the breeze, as Agnes Mesabi walked to a surprise meeting at the Mesabi Hall of Geology. A squat, and tough building, the Geology Hall was a recent addition to the University. It's construction, of course, was made possible with the new influx of funds the Mesabi family had charitably dumped into the University. While the Mesabi family was quite dreaded across the Brick Seas, their vast wealth and willingness to keep up appearances had lead them to dump large amounts of capital into Corrington's colonial educational institutions. This allowed for several educational institutions to add new facilities.... provided they put up with "Mesabi Shenanigans" on the premises. Agnes Count Mesabi's harridan of a wife, walked into the halls of the Geology building. Her stiletto heels clacked with each step, ominously announcing her arrival. In the research labratory, WTC Leader Karl Mordo chatted with a Professor of Minerology. "So you see, with these samples, we're hoping that we can identify a common pattern." Said Mordo gruffly. Agnes burst into the labratory. "Karl Mordo! My old friend and confidant. Can you guess why I'm here?" Said Agnes in a nail bitingly aggressive tone. "...so you've come to kill me then...." Said Mordo cooly. He reached into his holster, and drew a pistol. "At LEAST you had the decency to come do it YOURSELF!" "Hey, easy there Mordo..." said Agnes, a little slower, but no less agressively. "Let's talk this out..." With a quick motion, Agnes was behind the Professor, pistol in hand. "TRY SHOOTING ME THROUGH MY NERD SHIELD YOU ****!" She yelled, Aiming her pistol squarely at Mordo's forehead. [/url] The two aimed their pistols at each other for a solid 30 seconds, neither blinking. The Geology professor stood nervously, too afraid to say a word. A grad student cowered in the corner. "...So you're not here to kill me?" Asked Mordo mildly sheepishly. "What? No, I just thought I'd surprise you while I was here to giva a speech for the 'Women in Business' event." Said Agnes, mildly annoyed. The two lowered their pistols. The Geology Professor Scattered. "So, I had a proposal for the WTC to expand our business opportunities." said Agnes. "Involves some things with Oleon, involves the sale of some less than legal merchandise....." Mordo sighed. "You ran out of money in Namere again, didn't you?" "Look, overthrowing governments is hard and expensive! We're certainly not winning the hearts and minds at the moment. But I'm thinking throwing even more money at the situation will fix things." Said Agnes, rolling her eyes. Mordo grunted, and walked over to a chair. "I'm trying to use science to improve our prospecting, but I'm fairly certain I'm going to need to find a different professor to work with, thanks to your antics." Agnes ignored him, and handed him a piece of paper. "Lemme just get your signature, and I'll keep the fact you just tried to kill me on the down low." Mordo glanced over the document. "You really like this Namere thing." He muttered. He signed the piece of paper, and handed a copy back to Agnes. Agnes turned and left. "Oh, and if I wanted you dead Mordo?" She paused, smiling to herself. "I'd just hire someone to do it." FIN Thanks for viewing the build! This continues my work on the Royal "University of Tiberia" project that I've had going since.... 2018. With the current rate of progress I'm making on it, (about 1000 studs per year) I should be done in 2027! Honestly, looking back on my project writeup, I'm not satisfied with what I have their, so I'll probably get it fixed. If anyone is interested in helping, do pm me in the meantime. Regardless, enjoyed building this one. I originally planned to have it be set in Mesabi Landing, leading to a more squat look, but I didn't feel like the style was really working for that settlement. So, I changed up some parts of the build, and set as a part of this project. Storywise, this ties in with my long neglected TMCRA, with Agnes trying to overthrow parts of Namere. Karl Mordo is @Darnok's player character, and he told me that the story was fine, as long as " Set it some time in the past." Thus, the disclaimer at the beginning. I'm also referencing his many prospecting builds on behalf of the WTC. I'm sure this also would lower the IC opinions of everyone of Agnes Mesabi.... if they weren't already rock bottom. Anyway, thanks for viewing. C&C appreciated, and lets hope this royal build gets done!
  5. I was inspired by the classic puzzle game and designed my own Lego block puzzle. This set consists of four sturdy, hollow 6x6 blocks. Each is face-plated with a quarter of an image. 6. Quinnsville Public Records Building QV5.2 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr As Royal Surveyor of Quinnsville, Richard figured that the first thing he should do is make a round of all the important building throughout the Town. He first stop was the Quinnsville public records building. Inside was a massive bookshelf, that held all the information about the settlement, the surrounding area, and everything that went on since it was founded. QV5.4 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Richard decided to ask the clerk about some of the history of the settlement and some points of interest that he might want to visit. Having been there for many years, the clerk was more than helpful. QV5.3 by LM71Blackbird, on Flickr Dear Governor Cooke, Today I visited the public records building, and my, what a splendid building it is! Sir Smaugton certainly had an eye for fine craftsmanship. How unfortunate it is that he has not been heard from in such a long time. Inside the interior was in a slight state of disorganization, (much like the settlement itself) however the clerk on duty keeps the massive bookcase filled with the history of Quinnsville in perfect order. I was able to learn much about the settlement after sitting with the clerk for several hours and have developed a plan of action for Quinnsville. I will keep you informed as I progress through the settlement. In service to her Majesty, Richard Brickford, Royal Surveyor of Quinnsville Thanks for checking out the latest build in Quinnsville! When I license the build it should bring Quinnsville from a Town up to a Large Town. More builds to come in future so stay tuned for further developments! C&C are welcome and appreciated and thanks for looking!
