He and a number of other Rebels boarded the transport and headed down to the surface. There, they met up with Captain Solo. Solo: What are you guys doing here? We only managed to slip past the Empire's defenses because we had a stolen Imperial Shuttle. Rebel: Mon Mothma didn't want to leave such a critical mission up to just one ship, so she sent us as plan B. We slipped through the blockade on the other side of the planet when you transmitted your clearance codes. Our orders were to meet up with you if both strikes teams made it, and to take your place if the codes you have didn't work. Solo: The more the merrier I guess! Let's go bust some Imps!
