  1. Location: F04 Illustria Tags: MANTIS, exploring Double D's log 45: At the edge of the dry side of Illustria I came across an unchartered part of our map and found what seemed to be an abandoned....something, though the building didn't look worn, just a bunch of plants starting to crowd the entrance, and I was going to find out why...hopefully.
  2. Location: F04 Illustria Tags: MANTIS, exploring Double D's Log 44: I was sent back to F04 so MANTIS could test their fighter ground tracking. We went to a more dry spot on the planet up on some rocky plateau. I also inspected some water condensers. Nothing exciting. End log. ------------------------------------ Making the minifigs was definitely the most fun part about this week's build! Hopefully I'll get a chance to use them again! So yeah, I have tons of ideas and no lack of motivation, but since August of last year I've only been committing a small amount of time for MANTIS building (and some weeks less than others). It's actually been a bit of a challenge having to build things quickly. Though it makes my stories boring and unconnected, and to me, uninteresting. I'm glad to have been able to post a build for almost every AG "week" though. Oddly enough I've only built for the first AG challenge. Those extra "weeks" for the challenges really just turned out to be breaks for me! Still going strong here, even if small! Small and steady wins the race! And as MANTIS member Mr. Greeble put it, "Or large and steady. That works too...." Maybe I'll put a post up recapping some of my AG builds in the anniversary thread....we'll see!
  3. Location: H03 Kaalin Tags: MANTIS, exploring Double D's log 42: Well, we're right back we started a few weeks ago. Octan and MANTIS fleets pinned against each other on the coveted sector of E01. To take a break from the case, I headed down to the planet with Wheelie and see if we could spy on anything or anyone. We didn't, so I decided to just enjoy the fresh air.
  4. Location: H09 - Wastyria Tags: exploration, water vehicle, civil --Weekly Explorer's Transmission-- --Log of Eagle-Eye Silver-- -- 21 Junali 3815-- Exploration of sector H09 and the local planet Wastyria has been rather uneventful. Unlike the insane predators of Arium Major, the chill of this cold water ball seems to have stifled the size of most native creatures—though there apparently are the Rockback Whales discovered by pilot Hannibal, I haven’t yet seen any yet. Perhaps they are both rare and reclusive? Anyway, with the lack of animal encounters on this planet so far, I’ve been mapping out as many of the tiny islands that dot Wastyria’s watery surface. The cold of the planet is just enough in most regions to freeze the ocean spray on the local plant life, but not enough to solidify the ocean water itself; so I bought down my Barracuda Special from orbit and have been skimming around the ocean at speed for a few days. The pilots and drivers sure think they’ve got a , but exploring is where the real fun’s at. We get all the fun toys from the engineers before those guys do, and since we’re the ones with the alien close encounters, we hang on to the good stuff! This little speedboat is amazing. It’s blindingly fast and incredibly maneuverable making it perfect for Wastyria with all its random rock piles sticking out of the ocean. Bombing around in this little baby for a few days has been a fun vacation from the crazy monsters I usually have to take out or run from. We’ll see where Lord Business sends me next week, maybe there’ll be more action.--End-- This one was a quick but fun MOC. C&C appreciated!
