This mod is provided with opening (and locking!) doors, removable roof for the Captain / crew, and space for the number of the ship featured on the doors' exposed studs. (Unfortunately the printed tiles required are not available in LDD) I also added some height to the walls to keep the imaginary water (as the boat does NOT really float) out. ,and I extended the bridge's length by about double it's original amount of studs to make it a little less cramped. This ferry allows for three and 1/2 space of track, which isn't much, but is more than my original inspiration for this MOD, set 343 from 1968's blue track 4.5v era. Also, it uses up two of the annoying flex tracks! The doors open and shut, and with the included Technic pins (hidden in the pictures) allows for it to stay shut. The roof of the cabin comes off, allowing for access to the inside of the bridge. The loco seen is NOT included in the LDD file, but is merely to show off the 3 1/2 tracks worth of space for the placement of rail cars / engines. The LDD file is available here, if you want it. Hi all, I have been recently working on some track layouts and I have grown to like the flex track, even if it is flimsy. My major problem with the flex track is that it is hard to lock it to certain angles. The 0 degree angle is easy to make, just but 2x4 or longer plate in the middle but other degrees are harder to achiece. I recently come up with solution for one locking technique that locks the flex to around 6,5 degree curves, i.e. the max curve. The technique of course requires bit more bricks to make the connection stable but you get the idea. I would like now to ask for other techniques that you have either come up on your own or found online. I did some google-fu but didn't really find any solutions but I think others have come up with brilliant solutions already. So, why don't we make a small info and idea thread about locking the flex track?

Hello, I always wondered if this was possible after reading about Chris Meyer's 9v backward compatibility for new plastic track. I haven't seen other posts about this; am I really the first to have tried it? I can't believe that. Nothing fancy, just copper tape on the rails: It's only a rudimentary test (having moved, I don't have a 9v train motor on hand right now), but it seems quite promising. Wide curves, anyone?
