Hi Friends, Happy New Year! Wanted to share a new modular building I have completed over the holidays. This model combines the facades of two LEGO Friends sets that I've collected; 41093 Heartlake Hair Salon and 42618 Heartlake City Cafe. This will go on a street of Miami/Florida esque modular buildings that also use the MILS standard. -The 41093 was put towards a single story building on the modular standard before, but I wanted to revamp it, make it sturdier, and simplify the color palette. Also, since this was built 9 years ago, the parts palette is much larger for this new build. -The barber shop/hair salon comes with: waiting room, cash desk, haircut area, shampoo and blowdry stations - Due to the abundance of cafes, I decided for something different with the 42618's facade. Since the color scheme has a Wynwood vibe to it, I went with making it a tattoo shop and private office. This was also adapted to two stories and includes some masonry bricks in the Spring Yellowish Green color that I was able to acquire in bulk. The details are just improvisational and minimal, but the essential stuff is there. Here's a video explaining the design & details and some high-res pics showing the exterior and interior! Enjoy, and I hope this inspires similar and better creations from you all! \

Here is my review on LEGO Friends 40694 River Camping Adventure: THE GOOD: Great little set looking good with a fun tent build. Lots of cool parts included in this. Extra leaves allowing you to change season. THE NOT SO GOOD: none Only got this last week because of order arriving late but it's totally worth the wait. Despite being a small GWP type LEGO set, this set is actually better than a lot of other sets available at this price point. First it's looks good and also was pretty fun to build. It's nice to see instead of a plastic film material type of tent, they opted to do brick built. The end results is greet with interesting use of parts and a few stickers to enhance the design. It even features 2 lovely sleep bags build inside. The overall terrain is great, again use of sticker to give it more details on the river and it's actually look good on every angle rather than just a front facing build. There are also some interesting parts included in this like the printed beetle tile, printed minifig head as a jar of fire flies. And there's more, LEGO also included extra leaves in different colour to let you change the season. The minidolls are Paisley and Nova which I like because you get 2 cool hair pieces which you can use for minifigures if that's your preference. It's really one of the best GWP this year and I would totally recommend this if you can still get your hands onto this =)

This model was built from a single picture of 2024 Friends set 42638 - Castle Bed and Breakfast. I made the model in my own style, while attempting to keep the proportions of the set. I gave it a fold open back, and had to redesign the turret-area as I had no clue how they assembled it in the set. The official roof was likewise unfamiliar territory at the time, so I originally improvised a new one using bricks and slopes. (which was a total pain) Since the set's instructions came out, I replaced the roof with the one from the set. The early-1930's Duesenberg SJ seen out front of the house is based off the car seen in Indiana Jones set 7682 - Shanghai Chase - from the 2009 Temple of Doom line. I updated the car's look with parts not available 15 years ago, and added a hardtop roof among other things. The rear isn't too exciting: I added a back door, and added a chimney by the turret up front. The building is also removable from the modular base so it can open up. The ground floor features the living and dining rooms. The ground floor near the stairs features a telephone and painting. The second floor features a writing desk along with a table and lamp. Inside the upper part of the rear half featuring the stairwell. (There isn't much to say about this bit.) The third floor features the bedroom and bathroom. The front of the vehicle alongside the owner of both the house and car. The rear of the car. The car seats two figures inside the cabin. Comments, questions, and complaints welcome!

Here is my review on LEGO Friends 42638 Castle Bed and Breakfast: THE GOOD: Looking beautiful. New and interesting building techniques through out to create some of the exterior architecture. Packs with interior details with a stunning bathroom. Interesting new pieces like new printed postcard & rubber duck with no eye prints. THE NOT SO GOOD: can't find any. This is another absolute stunner from Friends. Already caught my eyes when it was first announced and I did prioritise my budget to get this first. And I was not disappointed. First, it looks absolutely beautiful with perfect colour coordinations and interesting details both on the exterior and inside the interior. It also have one of the most refreshing build I had lately because the new techniques they use to create the exterior. Especial the curved pillar type structure, it's so smart is also built the curtains for you to view from the inside. The build is designed to stack each level on top of each other in a modular way. It's not fully connected but much tighter than your typical modular build. One thing to note is that it looks smaller than you see in picture but it still look good. And it also utilise the microphone piece very well. Each level has very detailed interior, I particularly think the bathroom on the top level is one more the most elegant bathroom I've seen so far. the combination with the windows structure just made it even better. There is also a very interesting customisation do with the beds as it can be configured between double and 2 singles. This set also comes with some interesting new pieces like a new printed post card/letter tile which I absolutely love. Also a rubber duck with no eye prints. The minidolls are great with very fitting details and I particularly like Renee's hair style. Making this full modular can be challenging as it requires planning on what needs to be incorporated if you decide to build the other half of this building. With a more reasonable pricing compared to other reason sets and not difficult to get 20% off this set at least, I'm indeed tempted to buy another one to try modularise it. This is another set that I would absolutely recommend!!!

Welcome to Julian's ~ A downtown FroYo Shop ReBuild of LEGO Friends 41320 -- using only those parts. Julian decided to move downtown when this sweet corner spot opened up. He got tired of cars parking in his drive-thru at the old location. This corner storefront has a glass tiled entry, bay window, room for a deck and roof expansion. As you can see on the table through the bay window, he lets customer add chocolate or strawberry sauce to their frozen yogurt. Julian is getting ready to open, so he checking the menu for the day, after checking the cold-counter up front that keeps his Strawberries and FroYo. Inside the one of the front curved window he displays the cherry danish and the chocolate bar rack is nearby. Getting ready for the day! After making sure he has cash, he knows he needs to check his refrigerator. Yep, a good supply of watermelon too! He keeps the cones handy by the frig. Julian is ready for customers after opening the back deck. Another reason he liked this spot downtown -- room in the back to expand. Oh, hey, there's a customer sitting on the deck ... or is it an 'old' Friend? Sure, it's Olivia! Julian is ringing up a vanilla for her. Olivia decided to wait for Julian in the alley break area that has a small canopy and Lemonade dispenser. Another reason he likes this spot. Julian also has a Festival booth, with so many downtown, such as the annual "Taste of Heartlake City" that he wouldn't want to miss. He preps his soft-serve equipment by getting Olivia a chocolate FroYo cone. She already bought his last Peppermint-chocolate cupcake. Here's an up-close of his equipment: Refrigerator, Menu, Rooftop Sign, and front Cooler Cabinet. The Frig's cold drawer slides out -- it's the clear shelf reversed onto the trans-blue windscreen which has bottom holes to clutch. I love the 2x3 grey brick with 4 studs on the side used for his menu! The rooftop sign is connected with a brown ink well element (same as nozzle on top of chocolate sauce container) that keeps a better fit for the purple dome piece than just with the white tile with stud. The cooler cabinet with Strawberries on display actually started out as Art/Signage above the front door like older shops in downtowns. Thanks for viewing!

An Alternate/ReBuild of 41319 Snow Resort Hot Chocolate Van. Amanda is deciding what to order while standing under the canopy, safe from sun and snowflakes. The cuppa hot cocoa sign is still on top and still rotates, because it's such a fun concept! Mia works at this cuppery too -- to raise money for a new Heartlake City animal shelter (because the Vet clinic is over-capacity with animals, and in violation of city code ... if I recall correctly from that episode). When I first saw images of set 41319, I immediately envisioned a canopy for that 'big' Azure piece! I made a point of *not* looking at the instructions when I opened the box; so I'm not even sure how similar my machines are to it. One aspect I wanted to do was get those new lovely magenta curved tiles out from under other bricks! They are the half-skid cart's back seat cushion top. Even though she didn't come in this set, Stephanie has come along and chats with Amanda at the table. There's a map printed on the center of the table, so it's always there for new customers. Both Stephanie and Amanda are placing an order. The table has a boot shelf with warmer under it, so they'll be warm while sitting. Amanda is thinking about another cookie ... while you can see inside the stand -- Mia is hard at work on the Hot Chocolate machine. Hot Chocolate machine -- view of it from inside and from front counter. Amanda decides on another cup and a cookie. Mia adds more chocolate to the machine and rings up the cash register. [the 1x1 brown tile is the chocolate, as the set didn't come with a printed chocolate bar :-( ] Amanda goes for the whipped cream dispenser ~ Mmmmm! Mia gets ready for the next customer by checking the machine, plus restocking cookies and donuts. While Stephanie asks Mia about after the stand closes, Amanda enjoys the view from the bench. My version of a half-skid cart, from the parts available in this set. Basically the other windscreen was way too big, and there wasn't a piece to tilt the smaller window -- so it's formed like a resort golf cart. It just has ski-skids up front for snow. While the set does have that silly small steering wheel (that no fig can grab) I finally removed it to move the windscreen back a row and down. Let's pretend it's a self-driving cart, Tesla knock-off ;-) I love that curved tile piece! Here is the core build of the stand with only the awning, without the canopy; the furniture and equipment: Table, Chair(s), Counter, Hot Chocolate Machine, and Bench. Not being a fan of stickers myself, the "banner" is attached with only a mere slice of backing cut off; this way I can remove it and save my green flag piece. Mia and Stephanie ride back to the Snow Resort together ... "Wait, is that the same sweater I'm wearing?" !! LOL Thanks for viewing!

Hi guys. I've been meaning to do this for ages. Here's the Friends Hot Dog Van modded to work in a City layout. Pretty self explanatory. Eventually I want to make some furniture that can be stored on the roof and taken down once the van is in location but I'm running low on parts for that. Any feedback or suggestions would be great.

This was a fun little build. Even though it was not totally custom as I used much of the architectural details of the Friends set, I still think it turned out nice. I always thought the orginal set was boring, but it still has some nice details that should be used in a set. So when the set went on sale, I bought two of them (it took quite a few additional bricks as well) and put this together. If I aqure some more windows, I make try to expand it, but for now, I like the size. It will fit into my city nice. So if you are interested here is a video and some pics. Any feedback is appreciated!

Is it just me, or, now that I'm getting ready to set up my Winter Village stuff, does the Friends Snow Resort line look like they're only a few alterations (and a bit of stripping out the pink) away from fitting in nicely alongside the Winter Village sets? This is more pertinent to the Chalet and Ice Rink sets than the Ski Lift and Off-Roader. What does everyone think? EDIT: And the Hot Chocolate Van! I completely forgot the Van . . which is more of a take it or leave it set for Winter Village applications, depending on what time period you picture your Village in (and how much you like hit chocolate).

Hi, today I will be reviewing something different, a medium or ordinary sized friends set. Friends sets started since 2012. The sets were targeted for girls and the mini-dolls are mainly female characters. The sets include pieces in pink and purple color schemes and depict scenes from suburban life set in the fictional town of Heartlake City. The main characters are Stephanie, Olivia, Emma, Mia and Andrea. But if you are to collect all variants of them, there would be tons to collect. As this is my first few sets of friends, let's start looking at it. Introduction This set was launched in 2015 and it was included in 66256 value pack. It featured Olivia who needs to get ready the studio for Livi the pop star to record her latest album. Overview Name: 41103 Pop Star Recording Studio Theme: Friends Year: 2015 Pieces: 172 Minifigures: 1 minidoll Price: £12.99 / $14.99 / 14.99€ Resources: Brickset The Box As usual, the box has the striking look of purple and pink color scheme which you will know this is a friends set at first glance. At the back of the box you can see Olivia is test running all the musical equipment for the superstar's arrival. At the side you can see Olivia's picture in the 1:1 actual size column. In this set you get one instruction booklet, one sticker sheet, and three unnumbered bags. Small, medium and large bags catering for their respective part sizes. I am quite fond of the parts distribution like this which makes it easier to find the parts even though they are unnumbered. There are three stickers in this set but I'm not complaining as the amount of printed parts are way more satisfying than the stickered parts. The instruction manual is a normal booklet and I suppose the one holding the mic at the top right corner is Livi the pop star. The Parts. These are the special and printed parts in this set. I loved them so much! You get a smart phone in azure blue 1x2 tile, a CD, a Cassette, purple Guitar, two keyboards, two glittering golden microphone, Mozart's notes, a newspaper in heartlake city and a normal looking panel. Wow! So much printed fun in such a small set! The Build. You get to build six small 'furniture' sized builds first before building the wall. These are the music note holder with a gold stand, video recorder on an octagonal base, and a mic stand. All of them are held by a pink flower at the base. These three minibuilds are great for modular interiors decorations. Then you get a controller with a keyboard, a pink sofa with a cup and the newspaper and a couch. These furniture are very nice especially if you are taking photos for your LEGO photographs. These are very nice household decorations as well! Let's start building the wall. First we build the CD player at the base of the wall with these grooved bricks. Then the CD ejector with a purplish black colored build. This is the sliding mechanism of the CD player. Its quite an interesting build here and I liked it. When we view from the top, this is how it works. Push the gold button and the CD will be ejected. After a few steps, you get the whole wall of the recording studio. It is quite well equipped with those smart phone controlled console, two speakers and a large music note signboard. There is a poster sticker at the trans clear door but the sticker on the right is actually a cupboard with musical certificate and trophies. The back of the wall is quite dull with a guitar hangar. Note that the cupboard screen is actually pure white instead of trans clear in color. A close up view of the controlling panels. Here you can see the music equalizer in a studio, a CD player, a smart phone and buttons. It does look like a recording studio. Tada! Completed build of the studio. I actually liked it very much after building the set. Now Olivia is ready for anyone to come for a musical recording! The extra parts are quite a number of 1x1 round plates and headphones. The Mini-doll. Olivia is the only Mini-doll in this set with a nicely printer torso and legs. The hairpiece is large compared to normal minifigure hair. Please don't put minifigure hairpiece on minidoll's head or else you will have a very hard time removing it. As with the headphone, its rubbery but it can't really stay on Olivia's hair and keep bouncing off. So I considered that as an 'extra' part. The legs are limited to bend forward, no other movements permitted. Here you can see the comparison between a mini-doll and a minifigure. Olivia is taller than C3PO while standing but the height is quite similar while sitting. The wrist of the mini-dolls are not movable so it makes them can only hold things in one direction but it was brilliantly put at an angle in which the accessories are held quite nicely. *C3PO is not included in this set. And Olivia invited all her friends for a jam in her newly set up studio! *Only Olivia is included in this set. Review summary Playability: 6/10 - The only thing to play is the CD ejector.Design / Building Experience: 9/10 - The design is very close to the real studio and the mini builds are very fun to build.Mini-doll: 9/10 - Olivia is a very nice figure in this set. The only downside is the headphone's weak clutch power to the hair.Price / Value for money: 9/10 - This set is quite worth the price with all those printed parts.Overall: 9/10 - For the first few sets of friends set, this one is quite fun and nice to build with very nice pink and purple color scheme. Conclusion This is my first few friends set and it amazed me of the design and mini builds. I thought I wouldn't like this set that much but it turned out differently. This is a very recommended set to have especially if you are building a modular building with a recording studio in it. I hope you like the review and thoughts and comments are welcome! Some karaoke session?

So I've always loved the Front facade and colors of Friends 41119. I wanted to work up a modular that maintained a front facing patio, but kept the back accessible, and added a staircase to the top floor. I haven't decided if I want to add the "Green Cross Medical Dispensary" up on the second story, or maybe just a party deck, and flip the staircase down into the patio.

There's some time left until Halloween, but the Pumpkin Diner is open all year round. So, if you want to eat somewhere special in Heartlake City, this is your place to go. Of course, the atmosphere is best around Halloween when they decorate the diner a bit spookier than normal and their famous Halloween parties take place. Take a look at some of the costumes at this year's party: The roof and the front of the building are separately removable for better access and there are 5 light bricks which can be switched on at the back of the diner. It was built for the FriendsBricks Halloween Building Challenge. I hope you like it. C&C welcome.

Hello everybody! According to Insta we'll get following Friends sets for the first half of 2022: 41695 4+ Vet Clinic 41697 Turtle Protection 41700 New Camping 41701 Street Food 41702 Houseboat 41703 Friendship Treehouse 41704 Apartment Building 41706 Mission Vehicle 2022 Power The Street Food set could be nice if the house would - in contrast to the 2021 Orangic Food Shop and Cinema - have sidewalls and a second floor; but honestly I doubt that. The Apartment Building sound interesting. I hope it actually will be a building with different apartments, with long enough sidewalls and no fantasy stuff like slides or so - the 2021 Hotel showed how great Friends buildings can be if they're designed this way. What do you think?

Here is my review on LEGO Friends 42620 Olly and Paisley's Family Houses: THE GOOD: Both houses look great with great colours. Two houses are separate, yes not connected but you can place next to it. Both houses has very nice exterior details. Paisley's house has the edge in terms of interior details and one of the most detailed dinning room. THE NOT SO GOOD: Paisley's dinner room despite being very details, it's very inaccessible due to the roof cannot be opened easily and very tight space. This is one of the 2 friends sets in this wave that caught my eyes when the wave was first announced. The modern mansion and this. With some luck, this set was on 25% discount so bought it without hesitation. And it's GOOD. It's looks very nice and even in LEGO city, you rarely get to see houses with such unique characters and looking great at the same time. I really love the colours on both. And don't let the product image deceive you, you actually get to build 2 separate houses. There are nothing to fix them side by side on default. Both houses looks great on the exterior but I like Paisley's one slightly more. Olly's one has some nice designs but overall lack the same level of both exterior and interior details of Paisley's. And the vanity in the toilet may be just a bit too high for any minifigures or minidolls. Paisley's house has much more details, I like the exterior texture of the chimney and Paisley's also has a very very detailed dinning room with stove, fridge and dinning table. Also featuring a LEGO child sit! Despite all the cool details, Paisley's house is very hard to access as the roof is not easily removable. So you pretty much left to place minifigures or minidolls from the opened back side. And there are no rooms to do this for the dinning room. I wonder why they even bother to make the fridge openable lol. It's also a welcome to have a new leaves element with very nice violet colour. With 6 minidolls, it a set pack with details and fun. I do wonder why Paisley's mother is missing. I'm also very tempted to buy another one to make a full enclosed house but have other priorities on my wish list. This is probably the 2nd best Friends set this year, given it's very hard to top the Andres's mansion. With a very accessible price and lovely looking houses that can easily fit into any LEGO city, it's definitely a set not to be missed out!

For this mid-century modern styled model I took two pictures of half of 2024 Friends set 42620 - Olly and Paisley's Family Houses - and recreated / heavily modified it in LDD. I added a back half, changed the colors, put in a fireplace, and placed new furniture everywhere. I even put in a spot to park a car by the back door! The first floor separates from the second story, but to get at the inside of the upper floor it folds open on a hinge. The rear of the house with the chimney flue visible. It was quite a pain to install that with the roof made the way it is, but it was ultimately doable... although it's not exactly what I wanted it to look like when I started. A comfy chair, standing lamp, kitchen table + chair, fireplace and trash can inhabit the first floor. The second story has a bed and Hi-Fi stereo system hooked up to a record player. Judging from the stack of rock-n-roll albums, this person loves good music! I have priced the model out and according to Bricklink it costs about $60 (US) before shipping, vsersus the set's $100. Of course, the original set has 1,126 parts, while mine has barely over 500. (506 to be exact!) It remains to be seen if I will be building this model in real life, but if I do, I will be using another 2024 set (76424 - Flying Ford Anglia) as the car that goes with it, simply because it fits the era. Thoughts?

Hi All, I picked up the Friends Juice bar when it went on clearance last year and finally got around to creating a 16 wide modular out of it. The first floor is mostly straight out of the set, except for the minifigs and Rosie (from Eclipse Grafxs). Extra seating can be found on the second floor and a rooftop garden suppling some of the fresh ingredients. C&C welcome

Here is our heavily modified (less than 25 original pieces) set 9493 'Friendly Wing' that we entered into Brickfair Alabama this weekend. This is the latest Firendsified Star Wars ship that we had built and was perfect as the Lego group were holding a contest for the best 'friendlyfied' official lego set, which we won. These vehicles are always well received with visitors and especially my daughter. The wings function perfectly and the minifig fits in and out of the cockpit also. thanks for looking! Hi! So I was wondering if anyone has redesigned the Lego Disney Princess Cinderella's Castle to lose a bit of the pink. I just received the set and was looking for ideas to swap out the pink and create a sort of "neutral castle". All I would like to do is swap out out some of the pinks and purples, but I would like to keep the iconic blue towers. If anyone has any ideas of what color scheme to go with, or any ideas to modify the castle, please let me know! Thanks

It has been almost 15 months since I finished building my last "friends-themed" amusement ride, the teacups. Now, I happily present the latest addition to my amusement park: the tourbillion! Tourbillion is a mechanism widely used in vintage watches. A tourbillon aims to counter the effects of gravity by mounting the escapement and balance wheel in a rotating cage, to negate the effect of gravity when the timepiece (thus the escapement) is stuck in a certain position. It is also a kind of training given to astronauts so that they can be get used to the Outer Space. Now, the girls are sent to the machine: Tourbillion has recently become a kind of amusement ride. It is just invented in Switzerland in the middle of 2015. The first launch (which requires you to buy tickets), however, is in HONG KONG!!! Want to see it rolls? Here are a few still images: Of course, you may find a video more helpful to you: Want a virtual ride?
