[i combined two threads from rockraidersunited to make this post/topic more compact.] What contains 1178 pieces and looks like the LMS Explorer? If you guessed something but the 1:16 LMS Explorer, you we're wrong. I thought a long time about the idea of building an even smaller version of the LMS Explorer, because more people would be able to recreate it at home due to the lower piece count (things like the lack of some teal bricks are still a problem though). It was a bit difficult to integrate some details (this version has its flaws) and the 1:16 version doesn't look near as good as the 1:8 version, but I hope, that you still enjoy it. [2015-11-23]: I made new pictures with another render program (personally I prefer the new result):

[As promised in my 1:1 scale L.M.S. Explorer thread this is one of the smaller L.M.S. Explorer models] In January 2012 I thought, that it would be a funny idea to build a smaller version of the L.M.S. Explorer, which could actually be build without owning the inventory of several Lego Stores ;) (turns out, that it's still impossible, because those cheese-slopes and other parts aren't produced in some colors like teal etc.). The result is the "Mini" L.M.S. Explorer. pieces: 5320 (aargh, so many small pieces^^). My latest version has ~5000 pieces (I eliminated some smaller flaws and exchanged smaller parts with bigger ones to reduce the brick count). building time: hmm, maybe 30 to 50 hours (changes not included) scale: not exactly 1:8 but very close to it (~1:8,25) (compared to my 1:1 scale version of the LMS Explorer, which is 975 studs long) construction program: LDD (but I have converted the model into ldr (MLCAD) and lcd (LeoCAD) files, too) dimensions: Length: 116 studs/ 91,36 cm/ 35,97 in. Width: 17 studs/ 13,49 cm/ 5,31 in. Height: 16 studs/ 12,70 cm/ 5,00 in. [2015-11-23]: I made a new picture with another render program (personally I prefer the new result):

Today I thought, that I should share this spaceship here, because despite its flaws (it may look a bit boring and repetitive) I think, that it's still a pretty decent ship, which fits into this part of the forum (here are already some Rock Raider MOCs). This post is similar to the one, that I have made on rockraidersunited, but without the development of rather bad pictures to pictures, that I have made in POV-Ray etc. XD, but since I haven't uploaded all pictures on flickr yet, there is still some stuff in the rru-thread, that isn't here (like a separate model of the bridge): http://www.rockraide...file-available/ I will also post 4 other MOCs (3 smaller LMS Explorer models and one action-figure MOC) on eurobricks :).
