In May I showed you my version of the trains that run in the garden of Karlsruhe's palace. This was a static display. In the meantime I motorized the trains and added the automatic train control with SBricks and raspberry PI (this can be seen in the movie, when one trains stops and after a few seconds the other train starts) I also put more care into the overall layout and the children got a playground (motorized with PF). As I did not know which size I could handle I chose the minimal layout to run the two trains. For this reason the curves are almost too tight for the long and heavy trains. The feedback was very positive, so I will continue with this - next time with some more straight track elements between the curves... The layout was displayed at the LEGO Fanwelt in Cologne, the moving carousel and swing can be seen in detail at the end of the short movie: (flickr) (flickr) (flickr) (flickr) (flickr) (flickr)

Howdy everyone, Got a bit overexcited with this one I think. I've taken the Maxi-Fig idea up to the next level with my new best friend. He is about 1.6 metres/ 5 feet tall and is made up of just over 5,500 bricks. He breaks apart just like a normal minifig and with a bit more work will have some hand held accessories. I took him out to the local adventure playground so he could have a fun day. Enjoy.

[pid][/pid] 245C UPDATE : Hi, at least it's finished! Here are the pics : Hope you like it :) Old post : Hi everyone, and welcome to my very first MOC! In fact, I've never been able to create something good looking using Lego, so I've decided to start from something already existing and create a Maxifig (based on the official 3723 one) of my favorite minifig ever : captain redbeard. However I should have chosen a different one since his head and torso were actually quite hard to render. Still I'm quite happy with the result : As you can see, it's still waiting to be built, this should be done before 2014 hopefully :) The torso is made from SNOT (to the left and to the right) and SOT, this alone took me many many hours, and it still has to be optimized. I hope you like it, feel free to comment :)
