DEAR LEGO STAR WARS FANS!!!! If you have found your way to this account, you are either interested in the world of LEGO Micro-building... or you just clicked on a wrong link somewhere and are now very surprised to be surrounded by these tiny marvels of creations... or not. If the former is true then, welcome. In 2011 I received my first STAR WARS Advent Calendar for Christmas, and was blown away by the sheer ingenuity and accuracy capturing the looks of iconic ships in truly micro form. Naturally, I had to have a go myself! I built a few... I was pleased... I built some more... and here we are nearly 6 years later, and I am still building them. I began by reading my first LEGO STAR WARS Visual Dictionary (DK) and building a micro of EVERY SINGLE SET IN THE BOOK! With that now exhausted, I moved onto the 2014 edition with more sets... I built all of those too. So now I just build a micro of every new star wars set that has, is, or will come out since 2014, amongst other iconic and less well-known ships from STAR WARS 'non-canon' such as the Old Republic, Freemaker Adventures, Yoda chronicles to name but a few. With a back catalogue of over 270 mini micros and counting, this truly is the World's largest Encyclopaedia of STAR WARS micro kits. Hello folks, It's me again, this time around with a WH40K-inspired digital creation that I built for a contest of... balconies. It's a strange world, but you just have to keep building. No accuracy intended here, just general inspiration as far as architecture goes, whilst the figure strays even further off the path. But hey, the scale dictated my options... Elise, Oleon granted me permission to purchase a large plot of land in Fatu Hiva to build a factory. We're expanding our rum business further, out amongst the white sands of Fatu Hiva. Yes, I know, sugarcane isn't growing there and we'll need to import it, but the land was purchased at a good price. This should bring in increased revenue for us. Hopefully Terraversa will have a good amount of cane for us to begin importing. Emile This is my first microbuild, and I think it turned out somewhat decent. I really tried to keep to the lore established for Fatu Hiva, but Emile has to continue to expand his alcohol business.

Hallo, I've made some digital inspirations for future project of our LUG - MicroCITY. Inspiration comes from existing blocks of flats built in our city in 1950s, modified and adjusted to fit in modules of 32x32 baseplates. Built in LDD, rendered in Bluerender.

Micro castles are always something I enjoy building, and this one was especially fun due to being set in the winter. I incorporated quite a few technic parts into the castle itself and was really pleased with how well they fit in. One of Mitgardia's stronger citadels, Steinn Fortress is built into Mount Mitgard and features many soaring towers. Even during the Algus invasion, Steinn Fortress wasn't breached. So here's a trio of assorted kinda-sorta-game-inspired military craft in my first attempt at micro-scale. I didn't normally even like this style of building all that much, but I had an assortment of new pieces and I felt like trying something new. The basis for the whole set, this one started when I was experimenting with this part for the angled wings, plus some brightly colored curved slopes for color-coded cockpits. Like the other two models, this was conceptualized as something you might see in an arcade-y space shooter. Notice anything from a particular franchise? Rear shot, showing more of the construction + glowy green exhaust. The Star Fox inspiration becomes apparent when you turn the wings back to create what could be some sort of alternate flight mode. As I've said before, everything I build must have some sort of moving joint. Next up, the tank. The chibi aesthetic becomes a bit more obvious with this one. The turret, of course, swivels. Much like the others, the basis for this was a single piece, namely this one. And finally, a mech to cap off the collection! Envisioned as a sort of mobile anti-aircraft gun, one initial draft was even an immobile turret. but I felt that was a bit boring and wanted to try some small-scale mech leg designs. Possibly the least studs on anything I've ever built, and I'm fairly pleased with the relatively clean blockiness (which, granted, isn't that hard to do at such a small scale). My second micro Lord of the Rings creation, after Edoras. Andrew JN suggested that I build Rivendell, and I was skeptical about being able to pull it off in micro-scale at first. The main build process took a little over 2 weeks, and then I needed to wait a bit longer for parts to arrive to finish the model. It was primarily based off of these two images: picture 1, picture 2.The model is view-able from all sides, and while one of my most complex micro creations, it was an extremely rewarding build. Rivendell, also known as Imladris, was an Elven town and the house of Elrond located in Middle-earth. It is described as “The Last Homely House East of the Sea”, referencing towards Valinor, which is west of the Great Sea in Aman. High resolution images on flickr. I just found the new image online showcasing the line-up for LEGO's new 2017 Advent Calendar. I am very surprised to see some familiar mini kits! I am JamesArts. I have been building micro sets since the debut of the first LEGO Star Wars Calendar in 2011 and have built over 270 micro sets in total these past 6 years, so of course it comes as no surprise that some of my ideas have been echoed by LEGO themselves. However recently I uploaded all my builds to flickr and have started up my own YouTube channel with instructions on how to build them. Now I'm not accusing LEGO of plagiarism... but... some of their most recent sets (In particular the Hover Tank from Rogue One) look very very similar to some of my builds. Others that seem to be appearing 1-2 years after I first designed them are the Ghost, Phantom, Krennick's Shuttle, Luggabeast and AT-DP to name but a few in this calendar alone. Bare in mind that almost all of the sets on my flickr were added before March 2017, with most being designed and built long before then some up to 6 years prior. I have been praised on Eurobricks and YouTube for my designs of many of my builds such as my Hover tank, with a few YouTubers even asking if they can feature my builds in their videos (as long as they give me the credit for the design of course). what I do not want is (IF... IF!... Lego are plagiarising these designs) for them to take full credit; if they are not copying them then there is too much coincidence and similarity of design) Others here are similar, and all of my builds are free to be viewed on my flickr profile. It wasn't until I went to university and only came home in the weekends, I realized how much I love the sight of my hometown of Temse in Belgium. I always try to have a seat to the left of the train, near a big window, especially near sunset. Because when my train crosses the Temse Bridge over the Schelde river, the view is just magnificent and then I know I'm home. [MOC] Temse Skyline by Bert Van Raemdonck, on Flickr You can imagine that on reading the assignment of Rebrick's "Dream Skylines" competition, "Build a Skyline of somewhere close to your heart", I didn't hesitate for a moment on what to build. But I think that choice might have been the only easy part about this contest! Since the creation has to be in the style of the existing LEGO Architecture skylines, I had to come up with several ways to add enough detail and texture at the small scale, and at the same time had to adhere to the maximum size requirements that didn't allow for any overhang. Personally, I also wanted to create something that's completely buildable in real life with solid connections and only existing part/color combinations - because who knows, maybe one day my town will be interested to have one of these for real? - which caused me a lot of headaches. All of that made for a build time of nearly a month for this seemingly small creation (that still contains close to 800 bricks). After all that building, I managed to cram in most (though not everything) of what I wanted to represent. From left to right, you have the Boelwerf Crane, the Onze Lieve Vrouwe Church, the Old Town Hall and the Temse Bridge. If you're interested in more information about those individual buildings, just keep reading! [MOC] Temse Skyline - Onze Lieve Vrouwe Church by Bert Van Raemdonck, on Flickr The Onze Lieve Vrouwe Church is the defining building of the Temse skyline, and rightfully so. The original dates back to the 770's, erected by the holy Amelberga, the patron saint of the parish. It is believed that she fled her suitor, a powerful man, because she wanted to dedicate her life to God. And when she was cut of by the Schelde river, a giant sturgeon appeared from the water to lead her safely to the other side, where she erected the church out of gratitude. To this day, we have a yearly procession to celebrate her. Of course the church was rebuilt several times, and I depicted it as it appears today,the way I know her inside and out because this is the building where I go to mass and have gotten to know a lot of wonderful people. I love this building so much that I actually tried to build it several times before this contest. However, i always got stuck on the iconic but hard to capture shape of the clocktower. However, having to work at this small scale forced a certain size of the tower on me, which enabled me to have a more focused problem. When eventually I found out that the classic medieval helmet worked perfectly to capture the bell shape of the bottom part of the roof, and that's what really kicked of this entire creation. Since I couldn't connect anything to the helmet, I had to work with an external support, but luckily it doesn't get in the way of appreciating the creation too much. I also had a lot of variations for the rest of the tower, but in the end this version with the notches nicely corresponding to features on the actual building made it, also thanks to the input of my family on this issue! From there on, it was mostly a lot of complicated SNOT work to let the windows and the buttresses work, but it gave a nicely textured result. To top it all of, I included the statue of the Blessed Priest Poppe, who is also a central figure in our community. [MOC] Temse Skyline - Old Town Hall by Bert Van Raemdonck, on Flickr Up until a couple of years ago, this was the administrative heart of Temse, but now everything apart from some ceremonies has moved to the new administrative center in a modern building for which I didn't have enough space to include... Still, it's a beautiful building from the beginning of the twentieth century that actually stands on the place where once the home of my ancestors stood. One of the ceremonies being held here, is the memorial of two of my ancestors, who became famous after allegedly dying in each other's arms during the first World War, becoming a symbol for love between brothers. This year, it was exactly 100 years ago that happened, so there was a ceremony on this very fitting location, where my sister and I also read some poems one of the two brothers wrote. Truly a special experience! Building this also was a special experience if you can call it like that, because of all of the tricky SNOT fitted into a really tiny package. I'm really happy with how the roof turned out. And while it's a pity that the spires of the main tower have to be held in place by a rubber band, at least the official LEGO rubber band with the right size had the right color as well. [MOC] Temse Skyline - Boelwerf Crane by Bert Van Raemdonck, on Flickr I was born just half a year too late... If I would have been born sooner, I would have seen the Boelwerf working with my own eyes. It was a big shipyard along the Schelde river just outside of the town which was the economic heart of Temse for quite some time, with the biggest ship of the world at that time being build there. My grandfather was one of the employees there working among the docks, the cranes, the machine shops... Whenever I see pictures of those periods, I begin drooling and dreaming about that time that I sadly never knew. Because right now, where once the Boelwerf was, now a lot of new apartment buildings, houses, shops like my hairdresser and the new administrative building stand. The only thing that remembers the glory days is a beautiful and huge crane that never actually belonged to the Boelwerf but became an essential part of our skyline, and a couple of poles in the water and a hidden dry dock. Building this one actually went surprisingly easy when compared to the previous two buildings, and I'm pretty satisfied with how I managed to maintain the spindly look of the construction and the realistic angles of the supports, realized by putting technic pints over minifig antennas. The difficult part about this build actually was keeping it within the prescribed size limits of the build without overhang. That's why I had to sacrifice one of the three wrenches in the back, but luckily it isn't as noticeable. And nice to know: the crane can actually swivel around! [MOC] Temse Skyline - Back of the Box by Bert Van Raemdonck, on Flickr I really had a lot of fun making the renders for this creation, trying to match the box art from the official skyline sets as well as possible, and I'm very happy with the results that accomplish my goal. Just ask if you want to know more about the rendering process. This is also a place to discuss the final building: the Temse Bridge on the far right. Although it doesn't look like it from the build, this was with its 365 meter for a long time the longest bridge over water in Belgium, and also one of the prettiest, in my opinion! The original actually was designed by Gustave Eiffel (yes, thát Eiffel!), but that one was deliberately blown up during the second World War. In 2009, a second bridge next to it opened to allow for more traffic to pass because it was getting a bit problematic. That bridge is actually nine meters longer than the original one, so in Temse we have just one, but the two longest bridges over water in Belgium! Giving the bridge the skeletal look was impossible to do on this scale, but the bottom of the plates actually still gives a nice texture to it. I couldn't make it as long as I wanted, and I had to place it at an angle, just to stay within the size requirements, so in reality it is of course way longer. Also, the 2009 bridge didn't fit on even though I created a model for it. But then again, that bridge pales in comparison to the older one. In the end, I'm very pleased with the result, so it was worth all of the work. It gives me the same feeling as when I see the real skyline from the train on a Friday evening, the feeling of coming home. Which is really nice that I'm on a two month internship in South-Korea! My largest project to date. There are 10,192 bricks used in the model and it is 64x64 studs. The roof of all the buildings can be removed for playability and access to the interior. There is also an abandoned mineshaft that is accessible by removing two chunks of the ground. It took me approximately 37 hours to design and build.

At the end of the road, a viaduct rises above the gloomy hilly terrain, leading to the gates of a white castle whose elegant tall towers seem to compete with the very mountain peaks...

So this was a quick, fun project. I gave myself the weekend to build the smallest RC car I could. My goal was 4 studs. This seemed reasonable since a battery box and SBrick are both 4 studs wide. With the width set in place, I quickly realized that making two connected parts would be the way to go so the model naturally became a camper van/RV with a trailer. The main car holds 2 micromotors and the trailer has 1 old-style battery box with the SBrick directly on top. More photo's here. Assembly photos are here. Hello Star Wars community, I am proud to present you my entry for the first round of this years Star Wars MOC Olympics on ImperiumDerSteine. It is the first time that I take part in the contest, because normally I am not so much into Star Wars but this year I try to progress as far as possible for a mainly Castle-builder. We will see how it turns out. Our task was to build a Micro-Fighter of our choice, so I decided to recreate the First Order Transporter, also known as Atmospheric Assault Lander, or like rolli says a giant vacuum cleaner. I tried to include all the little details that are important for a Micro-Fighter, it should be stable enough that children can play with it and some play features should also be included. Hello everyone. I'm new here. As a way of introduction, here's my lates MOC: MICROSCALE G1 OPTIMUS PRIME Features: Fully transforms between truck and robot without detaching parts Has a gun... And a trailer. Which opens to reveal the repair drone... And Roller Comes on a base with a storage compartment Humans included (except Raoul...) SIDE PROFILE BACK VIEW OPEN RAMP The ramp swivels and rotates on the t-piece to always face smooth-side up. TRAILER INTERIOR WITH ROLLER AND REPAIR DRONE Roller fits snugly in the closed trailer. PRIME IN ROBOT MODE ON THE COMMAND DECK ANOTHER SHOT OF PRIME Prime's legs, arms and head are articulated. The smokestacks also swivel on a t-piece. BASE SHOT BASE COMPARTMENT Here's where the gun and the humans are stored... HUMANS! And a parting shot with the human cast of G1 Transformers. Yes, I'm very proud of Chip's wheelchair... That's it. Less than a minute's stroll from the bustling piers and factories that dot the coast of downtown Wullham lies the dockmaster's office. Here the dockmaster manages the comings and goings of ships in port, and makes sure all goods entering the town are recorded in official manifests. Hi all. I haven't added much to my 1:250 fleet of Star Wars fighters, gunships, freighters and one corvette (plus a couple of mini scenes) this year but I have been working on my photography. I've really enjoyed seeing the groups of ships grow and comparing the sizes of the finished products, Slave 1 and the Rogue Shadow turned out surprisingly big, but the biggest surprise was how huge a Blockade Runner is! The last of my micro prizes from Challenge IV, this time a merchant ship: I started out trying to build a different ship entirely (a schooner brig or a barque) and it wasn't turning out how I wanted, so I shortened it a bit, raised the poop deck, changed up the sail plan, and voila, a carrack! A small factory (windmill) for the Eslandola town of Punto Sur: Punto Sur exhibits properties with a feel for the Classic Pirates era, so I chose the color scheme of white and red, with no tans or dark reds. Four years ago I built a micro windmill that was only 8 pieces (9 if you counted the base). Trying that minimalist approach again, this build uses 11 pieces, but could have used as few as 7 if I had used a one-piece base and hadn't added the technic pin at the hub of the sails (the pin just fills the hole and adds no structural element to the build). Racing Speedboat microscale vignette.The "sea" part is made in a way that the hull of the speedboat seems submerged as in reality.It contains 235 pieces and throws a lot of water...I also made an alternative front end in parts designer that can be made if you chop the ball of a 4131 party hat and glue it to the cone and one with a 24482 spear that you can easily make if you dont like the front part to be only the 2x2x2 cone.Enjoy and comment if you like it. https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=245825
