Hello, long time no see? Well, since I have other hobbies too and I was busy with work and such, I had to put on hiatus my Lego city. Now I've fount the time to celebrate in an appropriate way the 20th aniversary of my city diorama. A few years ago I built a second diorama, trains only, put in the attic (since in my apartment there isn't enough space for both). Now, I've moved (temporary) the train diorama and united to the city one, buildg my BIGGEST DIORAMA EVER! 4 sq. meters, 64 baseplates including all the buildingsbuilt so far, and they are all MOCs!

This is my first Moc after coming out of the Dark Age. I have always loved winter and Christmas and I am very happy to have spent two years building this village; unfortunately the time available is always little and I can put some bricks only a couple of times a month. DEAR LEGO STAR WARS FANS!!!! If you have found your way to this account, you are either interested in the world of LEGO Micro-building... or you just clicked on a wrong link somewhere and are now very surprised to be surrounded by these tiny marvels of creations... or not. If the former is true then, welcome. In 2011 I received my first STAR WARS Advent Calendar for Christmas, and was blown away by the sheer ingenuity and accuracy capturing the looks of iconic ships in truly micro form. Naturally, I had to have a go myself! I built a few... I was pleased... I built some more... and here we are nearly 6 years later, and I am still building them. I began by reading my first LEGO STAR WARS Visual Dictionary (DK) and building a micro of EVERY SINGLE SET IN THE BOOK! With that now exhausted, I moved onto the 2014 edition with more sets... I built all of those too. So now I just build a micro of every new star wars set that has, is, or will come out since 2014, amongst other iconic and less well-known ships from STAR WARS 'non-canon' such as the Old Republic, Freemaker Adventures, Yoda chronicles to name but a few. With a back catalogue of over 270 mini micros and counting, this truly is the World's largest Encyclopaedia of STAR WARS micro kits. My favourite lego board game is Lego Champion (it's got so many little sub-themes! ) or Pirate Code (I like the skill and well, pirates. )

Hey Guys I am new to Eurobricks, but here is my first MOC that I have posted to the forum. It is a Corvette C7 ZR1 with a body made out of system bricks and a Technic chassis. The car has steering, a functioning small-cylinder model V8, and opening doors. However, there is no suspension or interior. I have plans to make the car RC, but that will be quite the challenge. I just found the new image online showcasing the line-up for LEGO's new 2017 Advent Calendar. I am very surprised to see some familiar mini kits! I am JamesArts. I have been building micro sets since the debut of the first LEGO Star Wars Calendar in 2011 and have built over 270 micro sets in total these past 6 years, so of course it comes as no surprise that some of my ideas have been echoed by LEGO themselves. However recently I uploaded all my builds to flickr and have started up my own YouTube channel with instructions on how to build them. Now I'm not accusing LEGO of plagiarism... but... some of their most recent sets (In particular the Hover Tank from Rogue One) look very very similar to some of my builds. Others that seem to be appearing 1-2 years after I first designed them are the Ghost, Phantom, Krennick's Shuttle, Luggabeast and AT-DP to name but a few in this calendar alone. Bare in mind that almost all of the sets on my flickr were added before March 2017, with most being designed and built long before then some up to 6 years prior. I have been praised on Eurobricks and YouTube for my designs of many of my builds such as my Hover tank, with a few YouTubers even asking if they can feature my builds in their videos (as long as they give me the credit for the design of course). what I do not want is (IF... IF!... Lego are plagiarising these designs) for them to take full credit; if they are not copying them then there is too much coincidence and similarity of design) Others here are similar, and all of my builds are free to be viewed on my flickr profile. It's a monster truck with a 4x4 trasmission and 2 speed gearbox powered by a SBrick. This MOC is very powerful because the first gear generates a great gear ratio. The chassis is simply and very strong and the suspensions are attacked to him. I couldn't use the "large hard shock absorbers" because i haven't them, so i used the "small soft shock absorbers". I added a V6 working motor, a rear openig hatch, and lights too! These pictures above are of the old version, in fact the axles and the position of the SBrick in the images are different from the current ones (below). The differential is removable to ensure more traction. The gearbox is very compact and strong (on that I worked a lot of time). The green axle is the input, while the red one is the output: the yellow gears are interested for the first gear and the blue ones for the second gear. The first gear has a gear ratio of 5:1 (very powerful), while the second gear has a gear ratio of 3.3:1 (balanced). The gear ratios were calculated by adding the gear ratio of the all transmission system, ie 3.3. And this is the outdoor video! I hope you enjoy my MOC! Leave a comment and a Like! ;) -
If anyone has been following my forum posts then you know that I don't make my mocs symmetrical because I don't have enough parts too. I make one side how I want to and then either don't make the other side or just very plain. This is extremely frustrating but I've learned to deal with it. I really want to see the size and layout of peoples Lego setups and displays so I can get inspired and maybe others too. Here's what my display and setup looks like: If you haven't noticed, those beads are stored in an ice cube container...that's how desperate I am :)

Imperial Troop Transport Moc: This is my custom imperial troop transport, seen in the show star wars rebels. The cockpit and gun turret can be removed, and the gunner's seat slides back and forth. the transport has room for six troopers (from the official lego transport set), an imperial pilot, and a gunner/scout trooper. the side doors slide up to give access to the inside, and the gunners seat can be made into a turret. here are the pictures.

So, Batman day was a while ago. And I made two MOCs that day. I posted them to Flickr and had the intentions of posting them on EB but didn't have the chance until now. I guess the builds will be in chronological order on when I built them but I don't think anyone would care too much for that. First up is Batman and Green Arrow vs Amygdala. The build is just a bank with a statue next to it. I was pretty happy with the posing and all, I wish I took the picture at a better angle so you could clearly see the roof but that's fine. There's not too much going on with it which kinda stinks because I wasn't sure how I'd make it more lively, especially in the center. I assumed an option could be raising the entire section with the bank and have the 4x16 space a road. But then the lamp would've crowded the build. So, it's a learning experience really. Next is Batman vs Ras Al Ghul. I think that this build was a lot better in the sense of depth and a mood. I have the grey which is supposed to be the original stone laid down by Ras for a floor, obviously some sand has consumed that. The tower is really simple. I wanted a building that was practical for the time it was built and how it'd hold up. There are obvious abnormal sections which really messed with me and my symmetry. Talia is up on a balcony. I thought it was a nice addition in a sense it needed some character for the building. And the fact that Talia is notably there for a good portion on Bruce and Ras' fights. I then added some rocks, the grey contrasts well in this build so that was nice. I also added a small dining section, these are two men of class so they'd likely have a meal before they fight. There's not much to add from that. So, which one was your favorite? C&C very welcomed. I'm always looking to improve.

The enigmatic train, has stopped with questions on the period of lack of expression and melody, "Dorice" The nostalgic train, leaving towards the station of beginning and forgotten memory. This enigmatic steam locomotive, born in 21st Century, appeared to us with its old beautiful charm as if it were taking us back in time. Visualized in this project is a steam locomotive. Because they are the first type of locomotive, Dorice reflects the first order in Ancient Greek architecture as well as references the first music mode in the medieval/renaissance era, "Dorian mode”. Similarly to the Prelude and Fugue style in Baroque music, “Dorice” consists of two parts: the platform Crepidoma and the Dorice locomotive itself. The Crepidoma, which supports and flatters Dorice, has symbolical elements as well. One side of the structure represents elegant symmetry which symbolizes classical simplicity and sentimental fashion. The opposing side has the presence of coarse asymmetry which symbolizes baroque complexity and the use of logical mechanism. These symbols are complimentary, working together harmoniously but in contrasting ways. The Dorice locomotive, the style of British steam locomotive has adopted for the simple silhouette with majestic and elegant vibe of Doric order, By bringing out the heaviness through the robust design of the cylinders on both sides which can be observed from the façade, Dorice truly shows off its originality by elegantly balancing out the heaviness with its overall linear design. On the side of the boiler, there are grooves which remind of fluting of Doric order. On the top of boiler, the chimney which looks like Doric order's capital, standing figuratively. At the bottom of the boiler, on the wheels, a coupling rod that transforms the reciprocation motion of pistons to rotational motion is embodied, which can be observed using LEGO(R) Powered-Up parts. Inside the locomotive, there is an engine room that includes fire box, throttle and gauge, the tender connected to the locomotive has shovel and sliding door for coal; a lid for the tender's water tank on top. Welcome to my Brick World and welcome to the City of Brickgate! A project from Germany... Since August 2020, I've been working on a large and, most importantly, realistic LEGO city whose progress you can follow several times a week on my YT Channel. The feedback of my community plays a big role Here I show you some current pictures of my work. There are more than 100,000 bricks on the table so far and there will be many more to come. Also extensions of the area are already planned. Big highlight is the station, which takes an area of 10 plates with 48x48 studs each, is completely modular and is built on three levels. In Portugal, there is a kind of festival dedicated to railways called "Entrelinhas" (translated to between rail tracks). For the second consecutive year, the organization invited me to showcase my trains, all of which are replicas of Portuguese rolling stock. Last year, I did a static display; this year, I invited a friend to help me create a layout to make the trains run. All the trains are mine, as well as 80% of the tracks and the MILS part of the scenery. We managed to present a 12-meter table with a minimum curve radius of R104. Hey guys! As some of you know, I recently got back to Lego trains after 15 years of neglect. A close friend of mine thought it was a good idea to document my progress, thoughts and plans on a personal blog, so others would be able to one day build their own big layouts and see what I struggled with and how they can do it better. I've posted three new fire apparatus MOCs. The first is a Fire Chief SUV that uses Lego's new tires and mudguards from the Speed Champion sets. The result is a design that looks much more realistic and is more properly scaled in relation to my other fire MOCs. http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/433885 The second is a rig is based on the FDNY Logistics Support Unit. Hi all! I'm new here and I just wanted to know what your opinions are on selling MOCs using clone bricks (not bootlegs). Currently, many MOCers are able to provide instructions, but people wanting to build those MOCs either have to: 1) spend a lot of time and money acquiring the necessary pieces over marketplaces like BrickLink, or 2) acquire the pieces from various LEGO sets. It seems as though people could benefit from having clone bricks fill this void, and 3) even if the entire set is available on BL, it's often limited by the bricks that are available on the market. Also, I know how horrible it is that LEPIN would steal designs from MOCers on LEGO Ideas. And I feel terrible that such companies would hurt the community that way and give competitor brands a bad rep. But stealing aside, given how LEGO constantly rejects great LEGO Ideas submissions (with 10k supporters), wouldn't it be great if there was a competitor brand who would take up those designs and turn it into actual sets? I've also been told that clone brands might be helpful in providing MOCers with bricks in certain colours, or out-of-production bricks. The reason I ask all this is because I perceived this need in the community and I was wondering if someone ever tried working with a clone brand manufacturer. I've spoken to a few MOCers to ask if they would like to monetise their designs using clone brands. They do appear interested in monetising, but their opinions differ over the use of clone brands (some were for it, but others couldn't because they felt it would affect their reputation). However, those were just a couple of views. I wanted to know what the wider community thought. Forgive me, I'm quite new to the LEGO community and maybe I don't understand all the issues fully. However, I would really appreciate knowing your thoughts.

I am wondering what the title says, how long before deconstruction happens on mocs? I usually keep sets together the most, spread between display and use. Usually 4-5 months, then I make a c model, then it stays like that. You probably keep your mocs together longer (I have only 3000 moc parts) and display them on a shelf like they are. Or you are like me, and disassemble a few days later. Share your thoughts.

I notice there is less resistance against using non-Lego solutions in this board than in the past. In a recent topic about pulleys for a crane, http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/150151-heavy-lift-crane-boom-pulley-design-will-pay-for-ip/, at least three different people suggest modding pulleys by changing the axle hole, while the same problem can be easily solved by putting the wheels on a bar instead of an axle. In a recent topic about turntables, http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/149965-alternative-turntables/, the first suggestions are to use AFOL custom part designs. This is suggested before anyone even thinks about how this can be done in Lego. In http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/148319-little-8865-my-tribute-to-40-years-of-technic, someone built a miniature verson of 8865 using only the springs from the shock absorber parts and the first 20 replies made no mention of that specific point. (What speaks in favor of the builder though, is that he provided an alternative solution using rubber bands.) I thought this was a forum about Lego, where people use Lego pieces to solve problems, without "cheating". I remembered the days where if you used a modified piece your MOC wasn't even considered a Lego model by many people. Nowadays, there's hardly mention on this and it sometimes feels that I'm the only person here that still cares, that can't appreciate a model if the builder copped out somewhere. My rule still is, If you can't do it in Lego, then you can't do it. And a model that doesn't do it is better to me than a model that does it by cheating. After all, if you're allowing A, then why not allow B, and then C, all the way to Z and if that happens, what are we even doing? I understand 3D printing has something to do with it, but isn't the whole sport that you have a limited set of pieces that you'll have to do with, and that that means that some things can't be done? Isn't that the whole idea? I mean, if everything can be done, where's the achievement in doing it? Having done my bit of a rant, I am curious to see how others are seeing this. Have others also noticed a trend over the years? What are your opinions on it? What are your opinions on purism vs. using non-Lego solutions? Do you use non-Lego, and if so, why? What's OK to you and what's not, and why? Custom string? Custom stickers/prints? Custom tyres? Custom coloring? Custom springs? Can you define a limit that makes clear what's within and what's outside? If it's not clear, how do you handle the gray area? If you're an extensive user of non-Lego solutions, why are you into Lego instead of scale modeling in general? What are your opinions about all this?
