  1. Here is a collection of Slizer/Throwbot MOCs that were originally designed by @Logan McOwen. His works inspired me to start my own little series of digital revamps, including both official Slizer sets and his original character designs. All of his creations, including the ones I picked, can be found in his Flickr Albums. Let's begin, shall we? (all images are clickable by the way and lead to my Flickr. The titles are links leading to Logan's MOC images) - - - Tremor Slizer - - - Construction Slizer - - - Chopper Slizer - - - Soldier Slizer - - - Cheetah Slizer - - - Doctor Slizer - - - Orbit Slizer - - - Patrol Slizer - - - Logger Slizer - - - Proselytiser Slizer - - - Comments and critiques are always welcome! - - - If you like what I do and you want to see me create your OC, a favorite Bionicle Character, or something else, feel free to look up my Commission Info! I also now have a Patreon page, so please consider supporting!
  2. Hey all, Been about 3 years since my last build, and 6 (!!!) since I was pretty actively building. However, I'm building somewhat again, so I've got some MOCs to post. First, HERAKLES: Brickshelf gallery Kind of a beefy dude, supposed to be some sort of fighting robot. Inspired by a bunch of stuff ranging from the Hercules beetle to the movie Real Steel. Then a Rorzakh revamp for a collab on Flickr: Brickshelf gallery Tried going more insectoid/monstrous on the shape of the Rorzakh. Let me know what you all think, C&C is always appreciated. P
  3. Surrender or run! Hello, guys! I'd like to join to the "Metru Nui patrol" party on Flickr with my revamp of one cool black policeman. This is my dark Sci-Fi version of my first BIONICLE set) I know that robots doesn't have tongues, but... c'mon. It's Biological Chronicles. Why Nuparu can't build a partly organic monster with long tongue like Venom or Alien?) And yeah, it can transform into spider like original set. But in this mode its insectoid back looks strange... I hope you like this! Good luck and please, don't break the law)
  4. MOD: Game-style Ekimu Those who have played BIONICLE: Mask of Creation will know that there has been an update to the game recently, which not only introduces Skull Warriors to the battlefield, but also Skull Slicer, Skull Scorpio, Skull Basher and Skull Grinder as four additional boss levels. Also, once you've fought and defeated all the bosses with their Toa of choice, you can also play as Ekimu, the Mask Maker! Now, those of you who are quite observant may have noticed something a bit off about Ekimu's in-game model. For those who haven't, take a look at his shoulders and arms. Ekimu has the same build as Narmoto, the Protector of Fire! The model uses 5M hinge bones and a 5M shell in trans light blue, which are versions of those parts which we do not have IRL. But, we can still build a close approximation - which I have done! What do you think of this version of Ekimu? Is he now more in line with the other figures of his size, or do you feel that he lacks a certain je ne sais quoi without a gearbox?
  5. I really liked big Ekimu, but he had few issues that I decided to fix (mainly a little too much of trans blue color and strange pads): rebuild legs; rebuild torso (a little rough method to connect, in better way gearbox with new torso), rebuild hammer; added cape from polybag; Big gallery (also pics with gold version of mask, and other torso armors)
  6. MODS 2016 Bionicle Summer Wave "Canister" Sets It’s that time of year again! Here’s my first batch of modded 2016 summer Bionicle sets. One more will be unveiled soon ;) Ekimu the Mask Maker Ekimu features a more streamlined gearbox build, more comfortably positioned shoulder pauldrons, and a port on his back to attach a clear stand for his trusty falcon. Oh, and toes. Gotta have toes. Pose, Falcon Overhead Front, Falcon perched Back, Falcon perched Pose, Falcon perched Skeleton, Torso front Skeleton, Torso back Lava Beast I loved this guy initially, but I was desperate to fill out his torso and improve his legs. He also gets a full Shadow Trap, much like his brothers. Front Back Front, Stood straight Detail, Lower legs Skeleton, Torso Front Skeleton, Torso back Storm Beast Not much has been altered aesthetically with this fella, but his mechanism has been modified slightly to accommodate some traditional friction gears. Front Back Pose, Slashing Skeleton, Torso back Skeleton, Torso front Quake Beast Quake Beast received quite the aesthetic overhaul, along with a more standard gear function for his crystalline clubbing arm. Front Back Detail, Crystal Club Detail, Clawed hand Detail, Shadow Trap Detail, Bracing for attack Skeleton, Torso front Skeleton, Torso Back Skeleton, Crystal Club
  7. REVAMP Skull Basher After reading the newest Bionicle novel, I got in the mood to build a skeleton… So I revamped Skull Basher with some newer parts! Front, Pose Front Back Pose, Wearing the Golden Mask of Earth Skeleton, Front
  8. Nocturn the Condemned A modern take on the 2007 LEGO Bionicle set, 8935 Nocturn (a personal favourite of mine), featuring both my TW2 and QG1 gearboxes. Front Back Pose, Roaring Skeleton, Head Skeleton, Legs Skeleton, Toroso, front Skeleton, Torso, back Skeleton, Gearbox Skeleton, Upper arm
  9. Onua, Uniter of Earth Here’s my take on 71309 Onua, Uniter of Earth! Sporting a Technic-heavy upper body build, my version of the gentle giant accommodates the wide chestplate from his 2015 edition (70789 Onua, Master of Earth), and upper back panels which open out to provide room for 2016’s “Unity” function (demonstrated here with the lovely 71304 Terak, Creature of Earth). I love doing larger models like this, so expect more in future! Front Back Front, Unarmed Pose, Flaunting strength Back Panels, Opened and Closed Pose, United with Terak, Creature of Earth Skeleton, Chest and shoulders Skeleton, Back and shoulders
  10. Natur, Rebooted Master of Nature A long time before Toa Araun was realised, this fellow was my self-MOC: Toa Natur, Toa of Nature! Although I suppose these days he’d be the Master of Nature, wouldn’t he? ;) Natur was the star of two series I ran on YouTube back in 2008 - one on my first channel titled Toa Natur VS Makuta Pharex ( ), and another series on my current channel which I regrettably deleted. Natur didn’t have much of a character past being a bit cocky. This rebooted version of Natur not only uses parts from an XSZ Iron Man figure, but also has its own custom gearbox! I’m not sure what to name this one yet, though. Front Back Pose, Standing with Araun Skeleton, Gearbox front Skeleton, Gearbox back
  11. I must say, this year is much better then last year, thanks to more technic build. Pohatu was the worst and needed many mods. Kopaka: http://imgur.com/a/0J8Ud Gali: http://imgur.com/a/c0yVI Lewa: http://imgur.com/a/KqXcy Tahu: http://imgur.com/a/tzWhT Pohatu: http://imgur.com/a/3NIIY Onua: http://imgur.com/a/w1MpX
  12. William Furno, Alpha Team Rookie The chestplate is from a "Fusion Warriors" figure. Front, Pose Front Back, 3/4 Pose, running Pose, standing his ground
  13. KULTA, THE SKULL GRINDER This is a more titan-sized revamp of last year's main Bionicle villain, Kulta. He uses my TW2 gearbox, alongside a standard 2015 gearbox. The stud shooter in his weapon is fired by spinning the largest bladed head, which can also be separated from the smaller end to form the two weapons he had in his official set appearance. Pose, full weapon Pose, weapon seperated Front Back Pose, looming Weapons Pose, admiring his bounty Pose, looming in the Mask of Creation Torso build, front Torso build, back Leg build BONUS
  14. Hypernova, my revamp of 7712 Supernova, is a special model I made to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Exo-Force (2006-2016). I first started designing Hypernova in LEGO Digital Designer in May 2015. I finished building the real model in December 2016. I used 661 elements, which came from my own collection, LEGO Pick A Brick Online, LEGO Bricks and Pieces, and BrickLink. Hypernova can bend and twist around 13 points of articulation, not counting the fingers. The staff features a solar amplifier represented by a 2x3 trans-red light brick (54869/54930c01), which can be turned on and left on thanks to the interaction between the 6M axle (3706) and the 1x2 brick with axle hole (32064). The shield features a "six shooter" (18587 + 18588) laser gun at its center, controlled by a knob behind the shield (story-wise, the control would be in the cockpit). There is a laser sniper drone with folding wings on each arm, a rocket launcher on each shoulder, and a pad with 3 laser guns over each shoulder. The cockpit opens to reveal the controls and the pilot, Capt. Dawn O'Fury. On either side of the cockpit is a pair of full-spectrum sensors, enabling Dawn to see even when she's annihilating enemies with a solar flare. On the back is a pair of folding solar panel wings, which work with the three pairs of two thrusters on each foot to allow Hypernova to fly (story-wise) faster than the speed of sound. The following models inspired the design of Hypernova: Tribute to Exo-Force (TECHNIC shells, upper arms) 7712 Supernova (staff, color scheme) 7714 Golden Guardian (shield, shoulder pads, lower legs) 2008 Exo-Force sets (arm-mounted drones) LXF File | Brickshelf Gallery
  15. I've always had an odd fascination with the first wave of Alpha Team sets. Not enough to go out and buy them. But it was enough for me to download there instructions and proceed to revamp them to be more like how today's Lego sets are. Link for Gallery (Contains .LXF for all the sets) I won't be showing all the pictures just one per set as to not clutter the post. The names have been changed a bit to better fit Lego's new system. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=569947 Each set also has at least 1 of Ogel's Henchmen. The ones in the vehicle sets have different colored chemicals as the collectible gimmick. Ogel needs them to make more skull bombs to turn more civilians into his minions. Starting off with Charge and Crunch's Bomb Squad Not a whole lot changed from the main build. Mainly beefing up the part that had the twin blasters. TeeVee got a redesign along with Ogel's Henchmen. I did take out the third vehicle and the target as I didn't think they fit anymore with the redesign. Perhaps instead a gate guarded by Ogel's Minions that Crunch could shoot at would work instead. Dash's Chopper Pursuit Quite a bit changed. Its almost not even the same copter anymore. Flex and Cam's ATV Patrol The Submersible craft got the most change. It can now transform into a mech form for land based tasks. The ATV also uses the winch brick as it would make reeling in the craft easier IRL. Radia's Recon Cruiser Very similar to the original set. Just swapped out some parts for sturdier ones and bulked up the cruiser a bit. Ogel's Command Striker Again similar to the original set. Just more bulky. Rather than be its own set however I have combined it with. Ogel's Mountain Base The original build is nonexistent. It needed a complete rebuilding. Even then I'm not happy with how it ended up. I've tried redesigning it but I can't think of any way to shrink it down while also keeping the main parts of it. Those being. The jail cell. The harbor for Ogel's watercraft. The crane. The Lab where the skull bombs are made. The airstrip. The watchtower turret. And the iconic skull. It is at least modular. You are able to remove the floors to get into the others. Even so I would really love help redesigning it to be more like how Lego does there villain bases. Ogel's Aero Striker Realized too late that it share a name with Aaron's wave 1 set. Didn't change it as it fits with the Command Striker's name. Regardless The ship does resemble the one in the base. Though it now takes off from a runway rather than act like a rocket. Still has the function to drop skull bombs. Just pull the technic axle in the back and a hatch will open.
  16. This MOC is a rebuild of the Ninja’s Hide-out set, 6045, from the Ninja theme of 1998. I’ve added some details and made the MOC more look like a cave. Original set: Picturs of my rebuilded version: 01_Ninjas_Hide-out by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr 02_Ninjas_Hide-out by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr I’ve added the same playability of the original set, a working trap. 06_Trap by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr I’ve redesigned the hangglider. 05_Hangglider by Mathijs Bongers, on Flickr More pictures at Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mathijslegofan/albums/72157679041850800 Hope you like it :)
  17. For a set revamp contest at lowlug, I’ve rebuilt the 2160 Crystal Scavenger. The Crystal Scavenger is a small submarine of the Aquaraiders subtheme of Aquazone. I’ve rebuilt this set with the parts now available. That means I’ve changed green to dark green, and added some grey parts. Overall, my version has the same functionality as the original one. I’ve added two adjustable rotors at the left and right side of the submarine. And added two arms beside the cabin. 18. Centaur w/ Tailgunner (1) by socalbricks, on Flickr Centaur w/ Tailgunner (2) by socalbricks, on Flickr Some time after the city of O'Rai was destroyed, it civilians, now nomadic, encountered a clan of centaurs. Both groups had come into conflict with the various gangs of robbers and mercenaries that patrolled the plains and woodland of southwest Avalonia. A heavily armed, coordinated and agile cavalry was needed. The two groups chose to band together, and came up with the idea of combining a centaur and rider, with both of them often training together at a young age. This strategy would prove quite effective, with horde after horde of robbers falling to hoof, blade, and arrow. Riders now had a "cavalry" they could coordinate attacks with, and centaurs had their flanks (their one weak point) protected. --------------------------- A few months ago, back when I was researching weapons I wanted my centaur character (Ayra) to carry, I stumbled upon video by a YouTuber named Shadiversity, who mentioned that one of a centaur's best weapons would be a friendly human/elf/drawrf/etc. riding on its back. This gave me some ideas, and I got to building. For simplicity's sake, I chose to use Ayra as a template. On top of the addition of a "tailgunner", I also added clothing/barding to the character's lower/"horse half". This mitigated the open studs that existed on the original version, and in my opinion makes things look much cleaner overall. 19. The following creations were built to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 1999 Lego Racers computer game. Pieces new and old have come together to form these newly revised versions of the 8 boss cars. Please enjoy! 1) Captain Redbeard As you can see, Captain Redbeard's new ride uses the microbuild of his ship from set #40290 as a base for this off-road beast of a racer. But it still retains the large exhausts and rear mounted pirate flag from his original car. The sails make this the tallest vehicle in the collection so far. .
  20. King Mathias and His Royal Guard by Mohamed Marei, on Flickr "At long last, His Majesty is crowned! Long may He reign!" Initially built as a spiritual continuation of the Knights Kingdom 2018 collab, this build has now been assimilated into my UK 2022 convention lineup. My display was called: CCBS Kingdom Figures. The build started off with a janky looking prototype of King Mathias, where the challenge was to sort out the appearance of the shoulders. Once I had the concept figured out, I trialled several iterations before I was happy with the end result. The throne draft came together thanks to a spontaneous handful of visits to my local PAB wall and some yet-to-be-sorted BL orders. It was left at 70% done in early 2021, when I first posted an earlier version of this design. Then in 2022, in the week before my first UK Brick Festival (May 2022), I hashed out the Royal Guards, which I aimed to keep simple yet detailed. Finally, the base, initially coming together during one of the slower events I was displaying at, was used to incorporate the entire build. Again, another spontaneous PAB wall visit was the source of all the white tiles I came to possess. Overall I am quite happy with the end result, and will be taking this along to some more 2023 shows before retiring it for next year, but not before I've changed things up a bit with my new display (currently in the works). I would send it along to the US convention circuit but I don't think it's too feasible for me right now. Here's a link to an Instagram Reel to show you a full 360 view!
  21. Built for the Return of the G.O.A.T. contest on classic-castle. I chose to revamp set 6079, Dark Forest Fortress. My version features all the functions of the original, including hidden treasure in the bottom of the carriage, a working ramp to access the stable, working catapult, and of course a crashing tree function to barricade the path. I also added another hidden treasure chest underneath the stable. I’ve always liked the Dark Forest sets, so it was a fun challenge revamping one – though I admit trying to emulate the look of a raised baseplate was certainly a challenge at times! Check out all the functions in the video: Lots more pictures on Brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, C&C welcome
  22. Hi everyone! This is the first part of a series of revamps I've recently done of the Phantoka and Mistika sets in the CCBS style of BIONICLE G2. In this thread I'll post my revamps of the six Toa. You can click on the images to go to my flickr profile, where you'll find some more. I have to mention that these are heavily based on [this](https://www.flickr.com/photos/comilarapa/45052680522/in/dateposted/) revamp of Tahu Mistika by Lewis Hammond. Without further ado, here they are! TAHU POHATU ONUA LEWA KOPAKA GALI I hope you enjoy my take on these characters. Next week I'll post my revamps of the six Makuta. Have a nice day! :)
  23. 7700 Stealth Hunter 7701 Grand Titan 7702 Thunder Fury 7703 Fire Vulture 7708 Uplink 7711 Sentry (Click the images to access the gallery with more shots) Ever since Hero Factory: Brain Attack launched, I've tried to imagine what Exo-Force would've looked like using CCBS. Here are some revamps of the main six mechas from the original line. I hope you like them! :)
  24. I finished (or maybe I'm just halfway through?) a series of Piraka and Toa Inika tributes/revamps. Had lots of fun, and heaps of nostalgia, reading through those ancient Bionicle texts then figuring out how I could be most faithful to each character. Which one of these is your favourite? Check out my Flickr for quotes, flavour text and design write-ups, and my Instagram and Twitter for more photos!
  25. For the past year or so, I've been working on revamps. It started out with a simple Matoran design that made the 2003 design more compact and slim. As time passed, I did other characters, finishing up the Barraki. I was then inspired to redo Nuparu, but with a high degree of poseability. I eventually decided to make a self MOC, but when I got my Bricklink haul, I decided against it when I saw that I had a Noble Mahiki. Thus, after about half an hour of tinkering around with designs, here is the fruit of my labors. I present Turaga Matau, the Prankster! http://www.flickr.co...157651116556555 I honestly am too lazy to make that link look pretty. Anyways, that's my Flickr album of him, and it'll serve as the home for my future Turaga. I decided to give Matau a compact design that takes a great influence from the movie design rather than the set. The tube serves to emulate his robes, if I can find a better way to do it, I would have. For now, the tube serves its purpose. I plan on doing all the Turaga soon, the next one is either Whenua or Vakama.
