The project is 2632 pieces. I paid particular attention to the structure of the walls and the harmony of the whole. I am very happy with the result, and I think this project will be the essential set for your collection. I believe it would be a great display piece. The house can be exhibited under 360°. The whole thing is quite large and the main base provides great construction stability. I provided great accessibility because everything is modular. I took a lot of care when designing the interior. Our witch will be able to cook, take care of animals, find new recipes to heal those who wish. Outside, the house is surrounded by a waterfall for fishing, a small pond to fetch fresh water. On the other side, a tree brings a little freshness and allows you to grow pumpkins. From time to time, and to be able to remain calm, our witch cuts a pumpkin to ward off curious people. Usually it is in autumn. Some say it is the origin of Halloween celebrations. You could as well integrate this set into your medieval dioramas, with the blacksmith, or your castle. It would also fit well in a Heroic fantasy diorama. More details & support

This model was inspired by a LUG challenge focused around the Pirates theme. While I usually only make a few Pirates builds each year, it has always been one of my favorite genres. The one limit for the challenge was that your entry had to be no bigger than the largest official Pirates set. I have always been more attracted to the islands, forts, and land settings than ships themselves, so I settled on building a small fort on an island. A single 32×32 baseplate served as the foundation for the model. For once a peaceful day with no pirates, or enemy ships in sight of the small Imperial outpost. Evening All, While we are waiting for the 2016 50th anniversary Creator Train that will be a three-in-one that can be assembled as a Mallard, Challenger or Crocodile. (I may have made that up) I thought it would be interesting to ask what mods are out there for the current Red Cargo Train? I'll start off with my simple MOD to add lights and lower the roof profile. I think this makes a huge difference to the roofline without losing the character of the locomotive. It makes a smooth line from front to rear and gets rid of that unsightly grey stripe. 60098 mod by Canvas Rails, on Flickr At the other end of the spectrum, Lok24 has a MOC that looks a bit like a 60098 on the outside but includes remote uncoupling! Murdoch17, you were doing some great LDD work with this back in May; did you end up building any of your mods in brick when the set came out? MODders, what have you got?

This is the 6th module of my large collab with John. You’ll be able to see it in person at Brickfair Virginia 2016. Previous modules: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th. As with the other modules, the building has a full interior. Legopard inspired the cart. This is my 5th entry into the Colossal Castle Contest XIV, for the Ice Castle category. Burg Eltz castle in Germany is one of my favorite castles, and that castle was my main inspiration for this build. My model stands 84 studs tall, and features a full interior via 2 hinging walls sections. Harburg Castle is located in the mountain range near the Nocturnus border in Mitgardia. The lord of the castle, Karsten Storrar, receives an unexpected visit from his brother Sir Glorfindel. Inside the castle the cook prepares some fresh baked goods while a few guards take their mid-day meal. "Karsten! It is good to see you again!" "Likewise, but what brings my famous little brother and Dedan the hunter to Harburg?" Karsten asked jokingly, though his tone soon shifted as he posed another question, "New tidings of the Algus in the North?" "No, the Kylma Katsella and new fortifications seem to be holding back those foes. It's danger from the east that brings me, as we've heard many reports of the Black Spire's influence in Nocturnus growing stronger. Naturally, Harburg's location on the Nocturnus border makes it an important position to have well defended. We've come to warn you and other towns and villages that their defenses should be strengthened in the face of this possible threat," Glorfindel answered. "Yes, I've heard these rumors myself and tried to prepare accordingly. Unfortunately, many of the neighboring lords and jarls feel that these rumours are unfounded." "Which is why we've come to you first," Dedan interjected, "we hoped that your influence in this region of Mitgardia might help to convince the others." "Well I'm happy to do what I can, though of course you understand the difficulty of the situation. The recent Algus threat has already weakened most towns and villages, as they sent supplies and men to fortify the North. But enough of this gloomy talk, come! The twins will be thrilled to have a visit from their uncle, and I'm sure Karin will be pleased to see you as well." And with that, the group headed into the protection and welcoming warmth of the keep. On a white backdrop: There are plenty more pictures on brickbuilt. My fourth entry into the 14th Colossal Castle Contest, for the Traveling Salesman Category. I was inspired by the architecture of Dale from The Hobbit, and also Legopard and The Brick Vader’s rendition of Venice. Every building has a full interior. The dwarves of Erebor sell many of their fine wares in Dale before continuing on their sales circuit to Mirkwood. Their skill in smithing and quarrying fine gems is well known. My second entry into the Colossal Castle Contest XIV, for the Medieval Archery Tournament category. It was quite fun building all the angles and curves in this build, as well as trying to capture the elegance of Elvish architecture. My phase 2 windmill, this is another build influenced by Skyrim, the windmill is based off of the typical windmills seen in game. I also tried to replicate the tundra look that is common in many regions of Skyrim. This was also my entry to the 2017 Brickstory contest, for the Early Middle Age category. The model features working windmill blades and grindstone, both simultaneously operated by a crank on the back of the windmill. Previous story installments: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th. Glorfindel and Dedan visit the windmill in Holt to speak with Jarl Arfast. "Welcome, Sir Glorfindel! I'm glad you were willing to meet me here, harvest time sees me at the windmill more often than my hall." "Greetings Jarl, it's nice to have a meeting outside for once. This is my friend, Dedan the hunter." "Good day, hunter Dedan," replied Arfast, "I imagine you two have come with warnings of the conflict in Nocturnus? I can assure you all our warriors have been keeping a watchful eye on our borders and will continue to do so. Though our numbers are limited after the Algus war," he continued sadly. "Yes, that conflict has weakened our forces considerably. I may have some encouraging news though, as I've recently returned from Valholl, and some of the centrally located towns and villages have agreed to send some of their own troops to help reinforce our borders. The troops will be allotted to various villages who are deemed to have special need. And the soldiers will be placed directly under the jarls and lords command." "That is good news! Particularly during this season when our men are so busy preparing for the coming winter months. Thank you Glorfindel." "You are most welcome, Mitgardia must stand together to survive. My first model of 2017, I have had the idea for this build for sometime, and finally found time to do it. The building is modeled after Bits and Pieces, the general store in Solitude from the game Skyrim. I used the same stonework design as I did in my Nordheim Farmhouse creation, though this time in dark bley. A tutorial for that technique is available. The rather complex layout of the building offered some challenges to recreate in LEGO, but I’m quite pleased with the finished result. It lifts off the base and hinges open to reveal the full interior. Previous story installments: 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Sigurd’s General Goods is the largest general store in Daydelon. It not only provides supplies, but is also a common meeting place for the people of the city. Today Glorfindel is met there by a Mitgardian courier. It had been two months since Glorfindel's distasteful run in with Lord Tuinis, and in that time Glorfindel had made several other more successful trips to lords and jarls in the area. He also made the journey to Valholl for a council of Parliament, and now was checking in at Daydelon before heading back to the border. "Greetings Sir, I bring word of the council's decision..." I tried my hand at a few photo edits with this build as well: As usual, there are plenty more pictures on our website. Did not make my goal of completing Age of Mitgardia last year, but now I'm only 3 mill builds away, so the end is near C&C appreciated .

This model was the third place winner in Swebricks LEGO competition "The city we built". Here is (the badly translated) description I had for my model: "Businesses had been bad for Ragge Runarson in the increasingly desolate little town. Because of the current recession, sales had fallen drastically and all of his employees had to quit. It was with mixed feelings that he was standing at the window of the office building and looking out over his lifework. He remembers how he so happily rode to work every morning on his red bicycle. And he remembers the now broken cement mixer which he would use to finish cementing the walkway to the white cottage. Soon, however, there would come a person who was interested in buying the building, so then Ragge could start all over again!"

Hello! I came across some awesome roof builds using those wedge plates. Having a few to spare, I gave it a try. This is my first attempt at anything in the genre. I only have 4 hinges, and they're half black, so I had to make do with them. With a few brown pieces I tried to mock up a simple wooden structure below. It's simple but it works; we had snow this year!

I could not find any threads here, nor pics on Google, of wooden roof trusses so I came up with this design. Many homes have exposed roof trusses, along with commercial and industrial buildings. These particular trusses go in my train engine shed used to service train engines. Although they are not needed for strength they do add a nice architectural design element to the building. Feel free to copy or comment, hope you like!

I have a question. I really enjoying building minifigure scale houses, however I always hit a bit of a brick wall (boom boom) when I get to the roof. I have tried with plates and tiles - looks good, but corners etc can be complicated. I also like the regular Roof Tile bricks that Creator houses are built with, they are certainly easier to get around corners and build more complex roof structures with. My question is: Is using the standard Roof Tile (Sloping Brick) considered a bit basic for a build of any detail? Interested in your opinions! Cheers

And another castle MOC! Here's my latest work The Blacksmith: Near the center of the village sits the home of the village blacksmith. Working out of a small shop connected to his house, the blacksmith provides trustworthy work to the local farmers, soldiers, and craftsmen who need a horse shoed, a plough sharpened, or a tool repaired. The sound of his hammer striking metal can be heard throughout the countryside, and the cozy outdoor shop often serves as the site of friendly socialization and sharing of news for the village residents. Another build incorporating the technic-pin roof technique I've been playing with. I love the way it looks and the versatility of it's shape, but it can really be a pain to work with. Also, building houses is kinda hard...getting the roof shape and building proportions right can be complicated. Something I need to practice more. Thanks for looking! Soli Deo Gloria!
