Hey all. Here's a MOC I made in Lego Studio. It's a rover inspired by recent trans green windscreens/window pieces and the newish wheel fork. The command module can launch from the rover platform and function as a spaceship. The rover platform can function autonomously or be operated remotely from the command unit. Here's a pic showing the rear window of the main command module with the small cargo unit detached. Thanks for looking! A couple more pics here:
-
It’s a 2980-piece base separated in four modules: WATCH TOWER- Observation and communication deck. It includes a working elevator to take astronauts to the top of the tower. HANGAR- Storages and gives maintenance to the ORCA, a tri-module exploration vehicle. It also has a second level where a Flyer explorer is kept and is deployed by opening the roof door. LANDING PAD- Facility used for external spaceships to reach the base. Includes the octagonal platform and a ground control unit to aid the incoming ships. It includes also a small spaceship. COMMAND BASE- Three level building used as living quarters. The first lever has four rooms used as medical a unit, sleeping quarter, workshop and lab. It also has two small garages for a small rover and a lifter mechanical suit. The second level are the recreational area and cafeteria. The top lever is used as the command quarters of the city, Please support at Lego Ideas! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/aa01cddb-7771-46aa-b719-d2b9881f9249

Hey everyone, Did this one last month, finally got around to posting it... goes out to all the fans of late classic space and playability! This is a mid-sized Explorien ship made for intergalactic exploratory missions seeking planets with life or key resources. My goal was to fit in as much playability as possible in an aesthetically pleasing package. But first, I'd like to introduce the crew in front of its main play function, an actuated elevator cargo bay! Here is a list of features within the four main areas - livable conditions for all four crew members - 2 floor modular interior with 4x sleeping chambers on lower level - biomedical lab - 4 seat lounge - bathroom with shower - large cargo bay with surface exporation and assessment equipment - play function to open back and lower entire cargo bay as elevator via linear actuators - working airlock to enter cargo area from living space - Roll cage rover fits 3 minifigs and includes drilling /grabbing platform - tracked power suit with cutting torch and grabber - storage for 4x space suits and minifig equipment - communications and sensor arrays - Intergalactic comm dish - planetary sensors for life/resource assessment - intragalactic comm arrays for more detailed communication in local galaxy - 2x interior seats for comm/sensor operators - long and short range transportation equipment - 2x dual engines equipped made for long range warp and short range thrust - retractable landing gear - adjustable front and side landing/takeoff thrusters - front of ship equipped for navigator and pilot The main shape and inner technic structure came about from 4 integral pieces I wanted to include for the sake of the Explorien theme, the front canopy, 2 SNOT large transparent panels in midsection, 16x16 white plate for removable roof to house comms, but most of all a large elevator cargo bay. Also visible are the retractable landing gear. Upper level interior visible from outside, sides equipped with flight sensors and antennae as well as front thrusters White dish is intergalactic communication to relay their findings to home base, but due to the limited information it can send and energy usage, there are a number of local arrays they use for local galaxy communication and sensor instruments Upper level of interior includes front navigation/pilot area, comm/sensor stations, biomedical lab, lounge, suit storage, and bathroom Upper level removed to showcase the sleeping chambers for long range transport, the chambers are used for storage when not in use Rear cargo area includes rover, power suit, airlock, and engines. The actuator function for the cargo elevator is visible form here, but can be operated when the vehicle is closed. Note that the sliding door for the airlock doubles as the door for the bathroom, assuming the crew would not need to use both at the same time! Rear cargo bay open and lowered, rover and power suit rolling out to go exploring!

The goal was to make a robot base without up nor down to get out of a ravine, for example. On Mars of course ! What I like most about this project is its funny look.

Back in the 90s I used to think the Message Intercept Base was a Futuron Base diguised as a Blacktron one. Many times I thought how it would look a true Blacktron1 Base. So I designed this project and make something more "mean" more "rebelious" a base with modules which could be used both as rooms in the base and also as parts of vehicles or ships. I wanted to take the interlocking modular concept used by Lego on the Blacktron 1 sets to a new level and giving a fresh look to the retro space subtheme. Also give them droids which actual look like automata units for different purposes like spy units or guards. Enjoy it and if you like it, give it support. https://ideas.lego.com/projects/0f9caab4-1d4a-4207-ae82-60b6cc8b61d9

Rove the surface of Mars in the luxurious Mono Jet 2.0! This new and improved version of the Mono Jet that was used during the Lego Space Federation's first manned mission to Mars is over twice as big as the original and ten times more powerful! Get yours at your local rover dealership today! This is my contribution to this year's Febrovery and a remake of the vintage Life on Mars set. It was the only LoM set I ever got, but I liked it so much that I got two of it. On the back I added a ladder for the driver to enter/exit the vehicle. Also, note that I even used the updated version of the control panel tile. The engine's turbine can spin and the radar dish can be aimed up. The wheel's diameter was increased from 5 studs to 10 and that of the engine from 3 to 6 while keeping the same overall look. The whole vehicle is balanced and can be rolled around just like the original. The driver's side is now a lot more spacious and has more details such as a windscreen, a spotlight, and extra controls. I expanded on the original greebles with small parts and stickers. Thanks for reading. Did you have this set? What do you think of this remake?

You wanted more? Here is my newest project! I'm doing something Lego Group never gave us in a space set. A proper SCI-FI Lander Rocket for planet colonization. The rocket carries deployable equipment to start a new colony in an unexplored new planet, A small rover, an outpost base, four cargo and an orbital communication satellite. All units to ensure the survival of the pioneer astronauts. Let us expand the imagination horizons and create something new rather than spaceships, rovers and bases. To give the new generations the joy we felt with Classic Space. This Moc takes rocket exploration to a new level! If you like this type of space colonization ideas, please give it your support!https://ideas.lego.com/profile/81f08ebb-fae9-4f04-9681-e2d545f1a898/entries?query=&sort=top

This is my Futuron city created using only 90s existing pieces. Why Lego group never made a Futuron base with a Monorail track so you could add it to the 6990 monorail set? If you like this type of designs, please take a look at my White/Black/Trans-Dark Blue group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1421271881962817 Enjoy it!

Wasn't fond of the small minifigure or technic rovers released this year so I wanted to build my own. Made it just in time for march, the month where everyone is building space rovers. Honestly didn't know if I should've posted this here or in the lego town theme. The top detaches to become a small Cargo tug that should be compatible with the modules seen in the big rover, the space base, and the space station sets. Nothing else can plug into the rover body though.

Well, I sort of forgot to post this here, so here you go, all rovers I made for FebRovery 2024: FebRovery 2024 by Ids de Jong, on Flickr For the Story, lets start at the beginning: Aboard the Spearhead: Jim: Has anyone seen Keko? I can't seem to find him. Bart Seeker: That Robot, no haven't seen him. Duncan: No haven't seen Keko either. MAGS: Keko is no longer on board, last signal was found on the planet below, 24h ago. Jim: I'm going to look for Keko. Duncan: You can use the new rover, it's parked in the back, the blue one. Bart: I don't trust it one bit, Viva go with Jim. Viva: Okay captain. Jim Spaceborn: The Search for Keko by Ids de Jong, on Flickr Day 1: The search for Keko has started. Viva: Where are we going to look for Keko? Jim: Let's just start driving to the last known coordinates. Viva: So, this is the new rover Duncan prepared? Jim: Yeah, looks like it, it was the blue one, I heard it was based on an older single seater design. Day 2: The search for Keko continues. Jim and Viva arrive at the last known location, but the only thing they find is a single spaceman on an antique rover searching for energy crystals. Whatever Keko was doing here, would it have something to do with those crystals? Day 3: Yesterday, Jim and Viva didn't get a great clue, maybe something related to an energy crystals. While planning their next move, they come across Max Greebles in his clean looking rover. Apparently the bounty hunter wouldn't mind looking for Keko. Max: I'll find him dead or in pieces! For only 20.000 credits. Jim: I rather would like to find Keko in one piece and alive if possible. Max: No can do, mate, not if you add another 10.000 credits. Viva: Let's go Jim, I don't think we can come to an agreement here. Day 4: The search continues, Jim and Viva are just taking a brake when a striking coloured rover passes by. Jim: Look at that. Viva: Looks like they also made a smaller rover for Xanad II, after the prototype testing was done for the bigger one. Jim: Oh, I didn't know that, anyway I think we need some kind of plan where to look for Keko. Viva: I agree, maybe we need someone who can tell us something about those energy crystals. Day 5: While searching for energy crystal experts, Jim and Viva see a suspicious looking rover. When they look, one of the astronauts in white steps forward and asks them to go away, apparently they are busy with some kind of experiment. Jim: These Whitetron guys are not the most friendly it seems. Viva: Yeah, let's go Jim. Day 6: Jim and Viva finally found some crystal experts, but after arriving on the planet, they didn't realize they also had to go to the bottom of the sea floor. Jim: Would Keko have been here though? Viva: I don't think so, I'm not sure many robots would be found this deep under water and still work like normal. Day 7: After that under water adventure, Jim and Viva were glad to be back on solid ground. Today, they asked around and found an experimental rover, the large crystal detector rover with foldable radio dish. With a special resonance frequency, large crystal deposits can be detected. Could it be used to detect Keko? Jim: So you can detect large deposits of crystal with this rover? Viva: Looks like it. Jim: Maybe we can use it somehow to plan our next move. Day 8: Continuing to the next destination, Jim and Viva have been ordered to stop when trying to cross a landing pad. Apparently it is being cleaned with special equipment after a chase, they also see Max Greebles in his rover quickly disappearing in the distance. Day 9: When arriving at a location with a strong crystal deposit reading, Jim and Viva meet a strange green alien in an equally strange rover. Jim: Did you see a grey robot? Strange Alien: Ksss, taaas, kraaa. Viva: Eh, I'm not sure I got that... Alien: Ksss, taaas, kraaa. Jim: Yeah, we don't understand that. Another alien behind them: Hello. When Jim and Viva turn around a friendly looking fella greeted them. Friendly Alien: We saw some people in black carrying a grey robot at another crystal deposit some days ago. Jim: Thank you for the info, we need to look for some people in black then? Viva: Yeah, let's do that. Day 10: Having heard they should look out for people in black, today Jim and Viva come across a weird looking rover. Jim: Look at that rover, what is that? Viva: It appears to be some kind of dragon rover, maybe it's used for a special event? Day 11: Another day without a trace of Keko, although Jim and Viva see something unusual today. Jim: I'm not sure what going on here. Viva: Looks like a baby rover show-off... Day 12: Looking for Keko continues, Jim and Viva meet one of their crew mates on top of some kind of rover. Jim: Did he really add wheels to a starfire 1? Viva: I do recognize some parts of it, it's a really strange rover now... Jim: But on a more serious note, we really should continue our search. Viva: Yeah let's go. Day 13: Today, we find Jim and Viva in discussion with some alien. Jim: Hello, we are and Viva and Jim, did you see some suspicious people in black? We are looking for a grey robot and the only clue we have is energy crystals and people in black. Alien: Greetings, I'm Omicron Draconis, we haven't seen any suspicious behavior around here. Viva: What exactly are you doing here with this weird looking rover. Omicron Draconis: We are filtering the sand on this planet, the sand is sucked in from the ground, and then we filter the sand. Jim: Why would you do that? Omicron Draconis: We are looking for a rare and special purple sand. We use that to make special parts for ships and rovers. Viva: Interesting story, thank you for the explanation. Then we need to look further. Jim: Yeah let's go. Day 14: Jim: Hmm, that's a strange looking Futuron radar rover. Viva: It looks more like a Pinktron rover. Jim: Yeah, those wheels look a bit like candy... Viva: Would it have something to do with that valentine's day custom I heard about? Day 15: Day 15 of the search for Keko, Jim and Viva haven't found the missing link yet. Jim: Still no trace of those black guys. Viva: Let's ask the driver of that springy looking rover. Jim: I don't think he sees us. The rover quickly passes by and the only remaining creatures left are small slimy aliens. Viva: I guess we can't ask them about anything, let's continue our search. Day 16: A new day, a new chance to find Keko. Jim: so we are almost back at our starting point, without any real trace of Keko. We need a new plan. Viva: I agree. Driver of the passing liquid transport rover: I heard they also have some crystal expert here. She sends over some new coordinates. Jim: Let's go there tomorrow. Viva: Yeah, good idea. Day 17: Arriving at the received coordinates from yesterday, Jim and Viva make their way to the nearest crystal deposit. There, they find a small rover passing by. Jim: It looks like they also have energy crystals here. Viva: Yeah, no sign of those guys in black though, I'm wondering what we are even looking for... Jim: Let's take a sample, and find a next place to continue our investigation. Viva: Okay, let's do that, too much snow and ice around here. Day 18: Jim and Viva are back from the frozen world, when suddenly the Cyber Baron arrives in his new rover. Jim: He looks kind of suspicious, but only his helmet is black. Viva: Yeah, I don't think we found our clue yet. Jim: Let's just ask. Viva: Okay. Jim: Hello, did you see any guys in black with energy crystals and/or a grey robot? Cyber Baron: I'm not answering that, goodbye. With that he drives off into the distance. Jim: ... Day 19: Jim and Viva are still looking for Keko, not sure if they get any closer, they do know they are looking at a new rover today. Jim: What kind of rover is that? Viva: Looks like a prototype R-Tron rover. Jim: Oh, interesting, I have not seen those before. Viva: Yeah, those are rare, they don't make many of those. Day 20: Jim and Viva continue their search. Today they met a driver of a red rover. Jim: Hello, we are Jim an Viva, I see you have your own robot companion, but did you see any grey robot, we are looking for Keko? Jim shows a picture of Keko. Red rover driver: No I haven't seen that robot before, I'm afraid I can't help you with more information. Day 21: Jim and Viva see another strange looking rover today. Jim: That looks like a jet turbine engine on wheels... Viva: The driver looks a bit nervous. Jim: Would this be like those jet engines from the Galaxy Explorer, I remember someone tried to fly on that thing. Viva: Yeah, only with wheels this time... Day 22: Finally, a black looking figure appeared in a rover today. Jim: I do see a robot, it isn't Keko though. Viva: No, you're right, it's not even grey and I don't see any energy crystals. Jim: If Blacktron would have taken Keko, then we would need to call the Space Police. Viva: Yeah, but we need more information first. Day 23: Still looking for energy crystals, today we meet Jim and Viva underground. Sparks: So, you guys are looking for energy crystals. Jim: Well more exactly, we are looking for Keko, our robot friend, and apparently his disappearance has something to do with energy crystals. Docs: So, any other clues? Maybe Sparks can help you guys build a portable detector. Viva: That could really help us, we are a bit lost. Day 24: Jim and Viva were going to their next destination, when they suddenly saw a medic rover overtaking them. They followed it for a while, when they saw a familiar rover laying on it's side. Jim: It wasn't that safe after all. Viva: Luckily for the driver, at least it looks like the medic bot was already near. Jim: Yeah, still you have to be crazy driving a jet turbine engine on wheels... Viva: I agree. Day 25: After getting some info from Sparks, Jim and Viva turn up at a new crystal excavation site. The head of the mining operation tells them that many different energy crystal sites have seen suspicious activity this month. Jim: So, probably, those are the same guys who may have something to do with the disappearance of Keko. Viva: Yeah, that would be possible. Day 26: Today, Jim and Viva get some explanations were the energy crystals are used for. They get to see how the vehicles are powered by the energy cells and made/recharged from the energy crystals. Jim: So what suspicious activity was observed here? Space miner: We didn't observe it ourself, but some cameras registered some unusual activity. Also I heard some robots went missing. Viva: Hmm, that is indeed interesting, we're also looking for a robot. Day 27: Having heard more info about the suspicious activity at the crystal excavation sites, and the missing robots, Jim and Viva continue their search for Keko. Jim: Let ask the driver about Keko, as we still need some more info. Viva: I'll ask. Hello, We are looking for a grey Robot, have you seen or heard anything about missing robots. Driver of the red rover: Well, not personally, as I don't have any robots myself, but I heard an investigation by a special task force was happening right now. Maybe they know something, let me give you the coordinates. Viva: Thanks for the info, we'll be sure to check that out. Day 28: Jim and Viva arrive at the coordinates they received yesterday. Jim: This looks like the special task force we heard about yesterday. Viva: This task force also looks a bit suspicious, being dressed in all black. Jim: Yeah, although the Space Police use the same colours, a bit different though. Viva: Let's ask about Keko. Jim: Hi, we are looking for a missing robot. Man in black: We received various reports about missing robots, we also have tracked some of them to various locations, but it looks like they are on the move. Day 29: Hello, I'm Ned from the Trans Galactic Info Channel (TGIC) sponsored by Blue Bird Inc. and Meta 3 Corp. As you may or may not know, some robots have gone missing the past month. But today, all is over, the culprit has been caught by my great investigation that I single handedly performed. Jim: What are you talking about, you didn't do anything, the special task force caught the botnapper. Viva: Yeah, we haven't even seen you the whole month. Ned: please don't interrupt my story, we're live you know. Anyway, we can see how the mastermind of the disappearance of Keko and other bots has been caught. The illegal's robot trader who calls himself 'Tobor the Trader' will be escorted to the nearest prison planet, as he was caught stealing various robots. Which he tried to sell for energy crystals. This concludes our bot napping report, thanks for tuning in, and don’t forget to subscribe, also follow me for more stories @NedIsTheBest.meta3.moon2be to stay up to date with the latest news about me. Jim: I'm just glad Keko was ok. Viva: Yeah. Keko: Hi Jim, look at all my new robot friends. Jim: I see you are doing just fine... Major Kartofski: Can somebody please let me down, I don't like being upside down! Anybody...

An Ice Planet truck for Febrovery. The general chassis and shape came to mind quickly after I got the wheels together, but completing all the details took longer than expected. Has a few functional bits as the drill arm is articulated and the cabin opens in such a way that the driver could actually board the vehicle. More images available on Brickbuilt.

Hello, this is my latest Classic Space project, enjoy. You still love Classic Space, but you want more than just remakes of Classic Space sets? You want something new, fresh, never seen before? Here´s your opportunity to promote new futuristic designs for space sets. GAIA-72 TERRAFORMING STATION, is a dome base fully enclosed with everything the space explorers need to survive extraterrestrial environments. Its composed of a 1200 piece dome base (roughly the same amount of pieces of 10497) and a 1100 piece launch port. A perfect addition to any Classic Space collection. If you like it, give it your support and let's hope we can have this on store shelves soon.

For my final post of this year, I am proud to introduce the Range Rover Evoque with air ride. Thanks to all for the comments and suggestions in my WIP thread to create a better SUV. The car was too black so I added white, it was too low so I raised it a stud and the hood wasn't slanted enough so I re-created the front of the vehicle. I reduced the weight to 6.3 pounds (2850g) This car has 4wd, air ride, torsion bar suspension, 2 XL motors for drive, 2 m motors for lift, V8, servo for steering, gear shifter turns on the lights. The car is finally to a perfect scale. The hard parts of this build was the air ride, torsion bar and having the doors start low at the front and higher at the back. I bought a pair of custom chrome exhaust pipes for this built. flickr: https://flickr.com/photos/139930963@N04/sets/72157676733470861 MOC-Pages: http://moc-pages.com/moc.php/435565 Instructions: https://goo.gl/photos/KLwkEfTt2LzsRMkG8 Inspiration: Inspiration by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Below is the car in comparison to the 42052 helicopter set Air ride Range Rover Evoque by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Back end was super difficult: Air ride Range Rover Evoque by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Everything opens: Air ride Range Rover Evoque by lachlan cameron, on Flickr Front View: Air ride Range Rover Evoque by lachlan cameron, on Flickr I'm ready to take my helicopter to work... Just wanted to preface this by saying I am a complete noob when it comes to engineering and HATE asking others for help with homework. However, I desperately need help in my engineering class to maintain my high honor roll grades. I need to come up with a comprehensive design by Monday and have been procrastinating for the past week. So the final of the class is to design a rover with four wheels that can drive through the obstacle course (It's basically a turn and a hill). The requirements of the rover are: Must "stand" on a cardboard platform Use 2 motors Have at least one worm gear have a mechanical advantage between 72-120 using LEGO gears must have "vertical" axles meaning the axles go from the front right wheel to the back right wheel and the same for the left. Must be less than 9in by 9in including wheels Can only utilize worm gear, 8 tooth gear, 16 tooth gear, and 24 tooth gear although using a differential or whatever it is called is also ok. have wooden structural pieces that strengthen the chassis The motor cannot be glued down Must be able to turn while "stationary" by having wheels on one side go in reverse and the wheels on the other going forward. Thanks for the help everyone! I'm sure you guys think this is really basic but engineering really is not my forte.
