  1. Well 2024 LEGO Speed Champions released 2 last cars (F40 & NASCAR) so came time to discuss about 2025. Somewhere in internet I read LEGO go all in F1 cars in 2025. What's your thoughts?
  2. My first comissioned build! A Toyota Starlet P8 FEATURES 2 minifigures fit inside Openable Hood Video review of the model:
  3. Decided to take inspiration from fellow builders and put all my past & future builds into one thread, so I wouldn't feel bad about having to create new threads everytime I had something new to upload. The first pictures are the builds that got me started back in 2017, and ones at the bottom are the more recent mocs that I've made. Jaguar XJR-12 Completed in January 2021 McLaren Senna Completed in January 2021 Lexus LFA Modification of an earlier version that I built back in 2019 Bentley Mulliner Bacalar Completed in February 2021 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Completed in February 2021
  4. This is a 1987 Pontiac Fiero SE made from Lego set 76902 (Speed Champion McLaren Elva). It wasn't to hard to build, the hardest part was the sides on the sloping front (do to minimal parts left at that point). I think that it turned out quite well. The roof comes off for access inside, and it fits two minifigures inside nicely. Over all I am very happy with the way it turned out! It is my first Moc on the Internet. Check it out on Rebrickable where you can download the instructions for it. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-201433/ClassicSpaceMonorail/76902-pontiac-fiero/ Here is a picture of it.
  5. Hello Ferrari and Speed Champions fans, The Ferrari GTO (often referred to as Ferrari 288 GTO) (Type F114) is an exotic homologation version of the Ferrari 308 GTB produced from 1984 until 1987 in Ferrari's Maranello factory. It was designated GT for Gran Turismo and O for Omologata (homologated in Italian). Building instructions are available on the following lins: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-201540/_TLG_/ferrari-288-gto It is a studless build in 8 studs wide Speed Champions style, and it is some kind of update of my earlier 308 GTB model with some newly released parts, but it is a different car. I minimized the use of stickers to keep the flexibility of the used parts in further builds. My intent was to keep the width-length-height ratio of the real car and this size makes it possible. The model contains lots of details: for example the air vents on the hood, the front bumper with the turn signal lights, the tilted front grill, the turn signal lights on the front side, the black stripe on the sides, the side-view mirrors, the tiltable seats etc.. Maybe the most challenging one was the iconic rear side with the vehicle registration plate, here there is a half stud offset. I tried to fill every unnecessary gaps and therefore some tricky build techniques are used. The model has space for two minifigures. I suggest to use small hairs. Without the seats minifigures with bigger hairs can be used too if they are leaned back (in some cases the black 2x1 tiles have to be removed too). 6. Hi, guys! I know that, there is February yet and we're before March release, but let's start new topic! So, at first I want to say that 2023 wave is amazing. New brand, new mudguards, new windscreens! Whoah! And there are my speculation/cars I want to see in Speed Champions 2024: ~ Porsche 911 GT2 RS Clubsport 25 ~ Porsche Taycan ~ Audi e-tron GT ~ BMW M6 ~ BMW M4 GT3 & BMW M3 1991 ~ Ferrari 499p LMH ~ Ford Focus RS 2021 ~ Honda Civic Type R ~ Cadillac LMDH What do you think about my cars? What cars would you like to see? Show your speculation/wishlist.
  7. Hello Chevy and Speed Champions fans, The 1957 Chevrolet is a car that was introduced by Chevrolet in September 1956 for the 1957 model year. It was available in three series models: the upscale Bel Air, the mid-range Two-Ten, and the One-Fifty. It is a popular and sought after classic car. Its image has been frequently used in toys, graphics, music, movies, and television. The '57 Chevy, as it is often known, is an auto icon. This model is based on one of my favorite Matchbox as a child. Building instructions are available on the following links: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-87788/_TLG_/57-chevy-matchbox-version It is a studless model in the new, 8 studs wide Speed Champions style, and it is an update of my earlier design, because some new parts have become available since the first release which was in 2021, therefore I was able to build a cleaner, less pixelated flame decoration. The use of stickers is minimized to keep the flexibility of the used parts in further builds, therefore only two standard vehicle registration plate stickers are used. My intent was to keep the width-length-height ratio of the real car and this size makes it possible. I wanted to build the model as accurate as possible in this small scale, therefore it contains lots of details: for example the brick built flame decoration, the emblematic front bumper with the vehicle registration plate and front lights, the side view mirrors and the rearview mirror, the tiltable seats etc.. Maybe the most challenging one was the brick built number on the trunk. I tried to fill every unecessary gaps and therefore some tricky build techniques are used. The model has space for two minifigures on the front seats. There are some space before the rear seats too, but it is enough only for a minifigure without legs Thanks for visiting, _TLG_ '57 Chevy (update 2024) - INSTRUCTIONS 1 by László Torma, on Flickr '57 Chevy (update 2024) - INSTRUCTIONS 2 by László Torma, on Flickr
  8. INTRODUCTION If the Friends line has some of the best overall sets, then the Speed Champions line has some of the best small scale detail techniques found in sets. With 800 pieces this set of Mercedes vehicles is the 4th largest Speed Champions set of all time, the biggest set that doesn't include extras like a race track, garage, or transport truck, and of course the largest of the 2024 line-up. But does bigger equal better in this case? Spoilers, yes, yes it does. SET INFORMATION Number: 76924 Title: Mercedes-AMG G 63 & Mercedes-AMG SL 63 Theme: Speed Champions Released: 2024 Part Count: 800 Box Dimensions: 35.4 x 19.1 x 11.8 cm Weight: 916g Set Price (RRP): £44.99/$44.99/€49.99 Price per Part: 5.6p/5.6c/6.2c Links: Brickset, Bricklink THE BOX AND WHAT'S INSIDE My other review sets sent by Lego had the new paper bags, but this set still had the plastic. I'm sure we'll see more and more paper as Lego recently released a statement about further efforts to go green. But this shows that there are still some sets with plastic left to be sold. The sticker sheets were small considering this is a Speed Champions set. None of them were too obtrusive and I applied them all. THE BUILD I built the AMG SL 63 (the yellow one) first. I'll start off by saying I'm not a gear head. I know how to fix cars and have done some larger projects myself like changing the engine bolts, replacing struts, and fixing a fuel pump. But I don't follow car news and couldn't pick out makes and models like a normal car fan might be able to. I had to Google which car was the SL 63 and which was the G 63 for example. But I do know good Lego techniques when I see them and the SL 63 has them on full display. We start off with the new standard base for Speed Champions cars. Here you can see some of the extra egregious injection mold marks. We get some new parts and new prints. I really appreciate that the curved and sloped parts have prints instead of stickers. The front grill section uses a fantastic combination of clips, a bar, and neck brackets to create the minute details. The end result looks pretty good. The exposed stud under the rear view mirrors and the edge of the yellow bracket sticking out the back end are small eye-sores in what is otherwise a gorgeous convertible. The clips that allow the hood to open are the other eye-sore. I wish the designer had found a different solution. Under the hood we see a sticker on the engine which seems to indicate that it's eco-friendly. A fast search says its a 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine. The car can comfortably seat 3. The overall look of the car is excellent, though it does feel oversized compared to system scale cars. The G 63 does not use the standard Speed Champions base and instead relies on a Technic frame. The entire chassis is built using a plethora of jumper plates to allow for half-step offsets throughout the build. The end result is a beefy yet sleek truck. Rear view mirrors, windshield wipers, detailed grill, offset wheel wells, angled back windows and chrome exhaust pipes make this the most detailed Speed Champions car I've ever built. We get a whole pile of cool parts. The plates in the 2nd picture are gun-metal grey. They add a slight color variation on the truck that's almost unnoticeable but shows an impressive attention to detail. The back-end shows how the back windows angle in just slightly. It makes the back window look a little off, but overall I think the design was the right choice. It's such a small angle, but the designer clearly went to great lengths to get the shape of the car just right and the end result is very impressive. The roof comes off to allow easy access inside. It can seat 4 and additionally has a spacious back compartment. The engine compartment hinge is much better hidden on the truck. Under the hood we see the same symbol on the engine as the convertible. The minifigures are not the draw, but they are unique to this set. Both drivers have aviators and specialized tops. Neither head has back printing, probably to allow them to wear cop hats in police sets. Now for a public service announcement. If you've been collecting Legos for more than 5 years you may have noticed a decline in quality, especially with the injection mold points or sprue marks. It didn't use to be this bad as you can see in this photo I sent to Lego CS: Injection marks have always been present in Lego, but they have gotten either more noticeable or even include rough edges around the mold point. I encourage you to ask Lego for replacements for any pieces that have really bad injection points. I've noticed they are especially bad on tiles and curved slopes. Lego's moto is "Only the best is good enough." Hold them to that. They will only change their production method if it starts to hurt them financially to keep using shoddy methods. OVERALL Paired together these vehicles are impressive. They each have minor flaws, the convertible more than the truck. But the attention to detail is incredible and I have to give the set full marks. They won't fit well with city sets as they are too wide, but as incredibly detailed models they are fantastic. SCORE How do I rate this set? DESIGN 9.9 These are amazing designs full of NPU. There are a few minor flaws, but this set is near perfect. BUILDING EXPERIENCE 10 As is to be expected with the Speed Champions line the building process is fun and filled with creative techniques. FEATURES 10 The intended feature of this set is to be a display model. In that it succeeds perfectly. But the cars are also functional and have impressive space inside for multiple minifigures. PLAYABILITY 10 You can't exaclty swoosh these, but you sure can Vroom! them. Plus the easy access to move minifgures around gives this set full marks for playability. PARTS 10 A great selection of unique, new or rare colored parts makes this an excellent set for part selection. VALUE FOR MONEY 10 800 pieces for $50 is a great deal. Add to that how great the set is and you have a real winner. FINAL SCORE: 10 Even if you don't like cars this set is a real gem. The building process is fun, the techniques are creative, and the end result looks stunning. This is one of the best sets I've come across and I highly recommend getting it if you have the chance.
  9. Finally ready to show off this one! The early LMP era is quite underrepresented in the community, so I've decided to tackle one of the fan-favourite cars from the category. While Audi came in and dominated everything for several years, Panoz was the one team that was considered a real threat to them. Always loved the Panoz LMPs, especially the Evo. Overall very happy with this one. Such a cool car, and I think I captured it decently well. I hope you guys enjoy!
  10. For my first real build after coming out of my second dark age, I tackled one of my all time favourite cars - and the one that got me hooked on racing in the first place. It's also the first time I tried my hand at building in an established theme, being the 8-stud wide Speed Champions theme. Super fun build, and I'm quite happy with the result.
  11. Here is my review on LEGO Speed Champions 76934 Ferrari F40 Supercar: THE GOOD: Looks great and a significant improvement from the previous version. Fun and interesting builds with some very unique designs. THE NOT SO GOOD: Wish the side emblem is printed. Some stickers may be difficult to align. In the beginning, I thought is it too soon to have an updated 8 studs wide version of the F40? After building the set, absolutely yes! This is another great entry to the speed champions and I truely think this era of supercar really fits LEGO speed champions well. First it looks stunning and much more closer to the real thing compared to the previous version for obvious reasons. But the overall building experience and some of the designs decision they took to recreate some of the shape are fresh and interesting. The use of spoon, how the front and rear are built, the side doors, engine... just too many to highlight and it's best to experience it yourself. Yes, some of the stickers are difficult to align and apply but it's not that many compared to most other Speed Champions sets. More importantly, crucial parts are all printed except may be the side emblem which I wish also printed. As usual you get a minifigure with Ferrari Apparel, the sweater does look a bit simple but it's always good to get unique torso =). Given it's a single car speed champions set, the price is also wallet friendly as you would get discount off this set easily. It's definitely a recommendation from me and can't wait to see more awesome Speed Champions set in the near future.
  12. Here is my review on LEGO Speed Champions 76924 Mercedes-AMG G 63 & Mercedes-AMG SL 63: THE GOOD: Both G63 and SL63 looks great. Interesting building experience to create some of the more unique styles. Interior is surprisingly detailed. THE NOT SO GOOD: The roof of the G63 can be a bit difficult to fit into the right places. Another set caught my eyes when it was first announced. The G wagon looks so good in photos and finally got my chance to get this. The actual build does not disappoint. Both the G63 and SL63 looks great. And with the unique styles of both cars, there are some very interesting building experience through out the build. I was particularly impressed with the build of the front grill. Both cars also comes with a surprisingly detailed interior. While the SL63 limited to be 3 seaters, the G63 has 4 seats and space to store more things at the back. The only down side I struggled with was the G63 roof, I found it very frustrating to put it in place as the side windows often interferes and ended up not able to close the roof. Otherwise both cars are really great. With 2 minifigures come with unique torso print, I can only recommend this set. Yes the price does feel high without discount but if you compare with speed champions sets with 1 car, this set actually aren't more expensive as you get 2 cars. Either way, it's not difficult to get a discount off this set =)
  13. A Speed Champions MOC of one of the most iconic and beloved sports cars on the planet, the original NA Mazda MX-5 Miata/Eunos Roadster! Instructions are available for purchase on my Rebrickable page. This MOC is an exact replica of my personal Miata, and features a removable hardtop, opening hood, and of course, pop-up headlights (non-fuctional, parts must be removed and replaced). Minifigures do not fit, but with some modifications done to the interior they probably could. Similarities are shared with NV Carmocs' and Bricks, Blocks And MOCs' NA Miata MOCs, but otherwise this is a completely different MOC. With purchase, instructions for both the stock NA Miata and a Rocket Bunny widebody-equipped Miata are included!
  14. I may use this thread to post other SC MOCs later on, but first, here is my Ferrari 288 GTO Evoluzione: 1963 Corvette Grand Sport Roadster:
  15. I saw this while I was looking at Vintage F1 cars to try to make. Lego Ideas Lotus 79 by Kozy . I did a model of this in Stud.io picture below. Took me ages to figure out how the front was fixed on. I like the model but I had a go at my own loosely based on his model design. Mine is 1 brick shorter and I got the side pods and rear wing 1 plate lower, which I like more as it fits better with my other vintage F1 models. I was surprised that when I finally finished my Stud.io model that I has all the bits to make it. Although not in the right colour yet. Google search for this car type. The 24307 Part the 1st plate on the side pod. As I have seen the 2018 Speed champions sets. I was thinking that the new triangle tile like on the ford fiesta rally car might be better. But they may not make it in black and I don't know it's ID number. 1st pic is the Stud.io render of the model by Kozy. 2nd n 3rd my real life as is and the finished Stud.io render. Dave
  16. Hi this is one of my F1 MOC cars. Its an 1980's ish Ferrari. google search for the car type . I have a Stud.io file if any one would like to make it. I still have to get some right parts for my real model.

  19. Hi this is one of my F1 MOC cars. Its an 1960's ish Lotus.google search for the car type . I have a Stud.io file if any one would like to make it. This model is complete. It was a carry on trying to get the Dark green 1 x 2 tiles at a good price some sellers wanted over £2 each!
  20. Hi this is one of my F1 MOC cars. Its an 1980's ish Renault. google search for the car type. I have a Stud.io file if any one would like to make it. As you can see my real model still needs a few bits I have to buy but it is complete apart from the wrong colours on a few bits Dave
  21. Some of you might have seen an odd Truck like vehicle I posted a while back. Well after tinkering it into a semi truck with a trailer. I tinkered a bit more and made a Speed Champions esc racing car to go along with it. There team name needs work but in universe. There goal is to always come in second place. First place is fine and all but when have you ever seen a racer consistently come in second place. Backstory over. Here are pictures Gallery when public- http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=573122
  22. Building these two has given me a even greater respect for the AFOLs who build six wide models of real cars. I thought the S7 would be more straightforward than the Vulcan. It was much harder than the Vulcan.
  23. The race car of the future :-) I originally built this for a ReBrick contest a while ago, now I'm trying to get supporters on LEGO Ideas. I hope you liked, C&C is appreciated. (Support for my Ideas project even more ;-))
  24. Alternate MOC models from various LEGO Speed Champions sets 75880 McLaren PickUP and Sportscar 75880 Hot Rod building tutorial 5 different models from LEGO Speed Champions 75899 Ferrari La Ferrari set 75899 alternate supsercar Thanks for watching! Stay tuned for more!!
  25. I believe that this Swedish megacar brand has not gotten the attention that it deserves in the terms of a proper LEGO set. Koenigsegg is one of the leading hyper car manufacturers in the world and it has also produced some of the most environmentally friendly supercars in the world. Koenigsegg cars hold the record of fastest top speed in a production car as well as the fastest 0-200, 0-300, and 0-200-0 times (in kilometers) in a production car. So I hope to put some of the spotlight on them and hopefully we will see them in stores soon! My model includes three Koenigsegg. The orange and blue one's are the Koenigsegg CCXR, which is the most environmentally friendly model that they have produced to date. It was designed to be imported into the United States and follow all of our strict emission standards. The next model that I have replicated is the Koenigsegg one:1. It is called that because for every kilogram of weight it has 1 horsepower, which equals a whopping 1360 horsepower! If you want to see some additional photos and read some more info on this set idea then please head over to my LEGO Ideas project page, which you can find here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/7a0ad979-b2fb-4fdf-be9c-2f822c37892c Make sure to support it if you like it and leave a comment if you have any suggestions!
