Today I started a new model. I'll build it mainly using light bluish grey Technic parts. Here's a first sketch to plan Bricklink order:
-
Entry for Eurobricks' Alt Build contest: Large Category (original set, 31132 Viking Ship and the Midgard Serpent, RRP: $119.99 USD) For my entry, I decided to take Creator's 31132, which itself is a re-imagining of an old Vikings set (7018). Creator 3-in-1s are fantastic sets for parts, imagination, and interesting builds, and this one is tied for #2 on price at $119.99 USD. Since the three builds for this set originally are a ship and monster, a building, and another monster, I really wanted to challenge myself with something different from those and outside of a medieval theme. So, what's more different than Star Wars, specifically podracing? One of my building philosophies is if it's not a statue or microbuild, I want to include play features and serve a story and such, and a lot of alt builds back in the day had those to varying degrees, so it was important to me to include that and use the pieces provided in the set in varying ways, which allowed me to create these alt builds. In addition, I think adding in the small builds helps serve the Star Wars lore regarding podracing. It's very fast, very dangerous, and humans really aren't adept at it. Also in The Phantom Menace, we see Tusken Raiders trying to ruin the race by shooting at contestants, so I figured this would be a fun way to include these builds and pieces along with some story. So let's dive in! Let's start with our first racer. Let's name him Harold Skywalker. He's got a tiny little podracer that didn't cost much, but it got it where it counts, kid. He's gone for a primarily blue/teal and yellow color scheme. On a closer look, you can see the twin engines and the energy binder connecting them. The side shot can show the pod itself is built using SNOT (and the engines) and actually upside down. A closer shot of Harald trying to steer his racer as best he can. Our second racer is Helga Secura. She decided to spend a lot more money on her racer with a more earth tone look. It's beefier and meaner, needing four cables to connect her pod to the engines. Helga's energy binder is actually covered by a metal shaft to protect it from any disruption or debris on the track. Unfortunately, they aren't secured well and can swing wildly, so she better be careful! As her engines are a bit bigger, so too his her pod, which even has a small jet boost on the back for some extra speed. Side-by-side comparison shots of the two racers, showing how they differ in size. Next up is the starting/finish line. It's wide enough for one racer to cross at a time. Next up are the two side builds to help the racers. It's boys vs girls today, so helping Harald is his friend Odin Nido, a sharpshooter. While Harald spent less on his racer, they decided to spend some money on a blaster and some protection for Odin to use to take potshots at the competition. But Harald isn't the only one with some extra help! Helga has enlisted her friend Brunhilda-wan to distract and lodge some stones at the other racer! Helga spent a lot of her money on that racer, so she had to settle for an old-fashioned catapult. And here is a final photo, comparing the original set with the alt build. While the alt build didn't use everything, I would like to think I used the pieces in a good amount of ways that are different from the original set, and I'm happy with how this one turned out! Enjoy, and as always, comments and criticism more than welcome! I can't wait to see everyone else's builds, too!

See replies in this thread for any NEW models Models in this thread - SHADOW CASTER PHANTOM II PELTA-CLASS FRIGATE IMPERIAL GOZANTI-CLASS CRUISER QUASAR-CLASS CARRIER IMPERIAL TROOP TRANSPORT GHOST & PHANTOM INTERDICTOR CRUISER TIE DEFENDER MINING GUILD TIE FIGHER ARC CANNON AT-DP PROTOTYPE (NEW) LAAT/le PATROL GUNSHIP (NEW) SHADOW CASTER Hello again everyone This week I present the Shadow Caster a Lancer-class pursuit craft - the ship of Bounty Hunter Ketsu Onyo from the excellent (well last 3 series anyway) Star Wars Rebels animated series. I was ill a while back and my attention span at the time was only an hour or so so watching a few Rebels episodes at a time fit nicely. It made me realise that there were a lot of vehicles from the animated series, not just Rebels, that I have not built or could update form my old collection so this is the first of many from this genre so keep an eye open. This is not a very tricky build, The difficult part was getting the colour scheme right whilst not making the model too thick. The new maccaroni tile pieces and 6x3 semi circle plates certainly helped with that once I realised that they existed. I tend to find out about new parts now when my son gets a new set! I think i have the overall shape and dimensions just about right. I am surpised an official minifig scale set of this was not made. As this was not the case I have also had to build a Ketsu Onyo minifig from official parts for the display. This is not my speciality so if anyone can think of better minifigure parts let me know. Anyway, enough waffle, here is the model. Let me know what you think. Jon

Hey everybody, I'm new to the community but I've been MOC designing for sometime now and I have finished my massive project. I've been working on it for just under two years, The ISD II The Eviscerator. It sits on a single removable stand measuring at 148 studs long with 19,225 pieces. I really wanted to capture that "It doesn't look like Lego" feel and try to give it a studio model vibe. One of my goals for this build was to have only one stand that the model sits on securely. This was an incredible challenge due to the size and weight of the model. In fact, it's what took the most time to develop through out the build. Overall, I'm satisfied with how the model turned out. This is more accurately representing an ISD II Destroyer. I tried to pay attention to every detail I could, based on a couple of star destroyer sources. It's a very modular build making it easier to assemble and disassemble. There is no interior in this model. Just pure structural integrity throughout the entire inside. Just the frame and stand are 6,000+ pieces, but this was my goal. Create as accurate of model as I could, displayed on one removable stand, and not having to limit detail because of weight and size. Anyways, enough rambling: You can view the rest of the photos here: Flickr Album Now here is some great news. If you want to build one yourself, you can! I have made instructions for this build that are available at https://www.brickvault.toys/products/imperial-star-destroyer

Introduction; I believe that many among us have made a MOC that they like, but think that something is missing and want to change it somehow to make it look better or emphasize in the story-telling. Among them, here I am! This MOC, follows my previous attempt and continues my story from where it was left! The Story; "...In a galaxy far, far away, somewhere in a corner of it, there is an unknown and isolated planet. Despite the initial disturbance from the clatter and thunder that unsettled the inhabitants of the planet on that festive day, the strange visitors became especially beloved by the local population. Our beloved C-3PO, despite speaking over 3 million languages and dialects, had a hard time getting in touch with them at first, but eventually succeeded and thus added another language to his database. The time was passing pleasantly as our 2 robots tried to find a way to repair their pod so they could continue their journey, enjoying their walks in the blossoming nature with the inhabitants of this isolated planet, until once again a bang and a thunder shocked the calm atmosphere that was prevailing..." I am looking forward for your comments! You can find additional pictures of my creation on my FlickR

May the 4th be with you. Welcome to Eurobrick's annual Star Wars contest! There are many ways to participate, and lots of ways to win! Four different categories, multiple prizes, and a chance to participate in our role-playing Star Wars game Mysteries are all part of the fun this year. General Rules The contest runs May 1st through July 1st. As long as it's still July 1st, 2024 somewhere in the world, you can still enter. All entries must be new builds not shown online or publicly before May 1st, 2024. Only official LEGO elements should be used. Avoid third party parts or clone bricks. Digital entries will be allowed. All digital entries must use only existing pieces in existing colors. Entries may be updated as long as the contest is still open. All entries must be posted as a new topic in the Watto’s Junkyard forum with the title prefixed by, "[M4-24 - category] - entry name". (For example, "[M4-24 - 12x12 Vignette] – Sarlacc Pit".) You may do a 'full-blown photo edit' with all the text, effects, background compositing, support erasing, and other effects on one picture. All your other pictures may have no editing other than color adjustment or background removal for a solid-color background. For obvious reasons, any photo editing that changes the shape, functionality, or color (not tint or adjustment, but actual color) of a LEGO piece is prohibited. It is also prohibited to use the Lego logo in any picture. Size restrictions, if applicable, are specified in the category description. A link should be included in this thread to ensure your entry is counted. This contest is open to all EB members, even if they joined EB after the contest has begun, with the exception of the Star Wars staff, who are not eligible to win prizes. Each contestant can only win 1 prize, if multiple categories are won by the same contestant, he/she chooses which prize to receive and the other prizes will be awarded to the runner ups. You can use this stamp on your photos if you'd like: All entries can also by submitted to our Mysteries game. Any entry submitted to both this contest and Mysteries will earn double points within the Mysteries game. Come check it out! Judging Method There will be a team of judges who will score builds based on the following criteria: Category: Pass/Fail Does your build fit the category? Majority vote of the judges decides pass/fail if the vote isn't unanimous. Storytelling ?/10 Does your build communicate a story all on it's own? Aesthetics ?/10 Detailing, build composition, and visual impact. Technical Ability ?/10 How well you use building techniques. SNOT, NPU, and movement are all elements of this category. Final Score: ?/30 Individual Awards Grand Admiral: awarded to the competitor with the highest total score combined from all entered categories. To win the Grand Admiral prize you must enter at least 3 categories. Categories Duel of the Fates Good vs Evil, Rebels vs Empire, Jedi vs Sith; there are countless duels between two groups in Star Wars. Build at least 4 (but no more than 8) custom minifigures depicting a conflict between two parties. You may use groups seen in any Star Wars media or create your own as long as it fits in the Star Wars universe. Side builds may accompany your minifigures but you may use no more than 100 pieces. Pieces used to kit out your minifigures and the figures themselves don't count against the 100 piece limit. Example: Sabine's Paint A lot of Star Wars ships are grey. But as Sabine showed us they don't always have to stay that way. Build an example of an existing Star Wars ship that is colorful! Your ship must already exist within Star Wars media and at least 50% must be a bright color. Your ship must be a spaceship capable of flight in a vacuum. It can be any spaceship of any size from a TIE Fighter to a Star Destroyer. Any color is acceptable as long as it's not grey-scale. So no greys, whites or blacks. You can pick a ship that's already colorful and build it or change it's color. But the idea is to pick a bland ship and make it colorful. An extra note for judging, it can be hard to score points in Storytelling for the ship category. Think about including battle damage or other elements that tell a story as soon as you look at the ship. Example: Here is an example of an existing SW ship with color, though for this category it would need more color and less grey: Built by J F Here's an example of a ship with a lot of color, though it's not an existing SW ship: Built by Finn Roberts The Phantom Menace Re-create a scene from Star Wars Episode 1. Any size or scale is acceptable. Example: Built by Alper I Built by AC Pin Coruscant From the rich high-rises to the dark underbelly, Coruscant is full of different places. Build a scene showcasing one or more of these. There is no size limit, go as big as you want! Example: Built by Hypolite Bricks Prizes Duel of the Fates - First place wins a set or sets with an equivalent value up to 40 Euro as their prize like: - Second place wins these two foil packs: Sabine's Paint - First place wins a set or sets with an equivalent value up to 70 Euro as their prize like: - Second place wins these two foil packs: The Phantom Menace - First place wins a set or sets with an equivalent value up to 80 Euro as their prize like: - Second place wins these two foil packs: Coruscant - First place wins a set or sets with an equivalent value up to 150 Euro as their prize like: - Second place wins these two foil packs: Grand Admiral - A set or sets with an equivalent value up to 230 Euro as their prize like: Fine Print By entering, you consent to Eurobricks reposting your entry on Eurobricks' social media channels, crediting you. Hello everyone! I would like to apologize if it is not allowed to show our lego’s collection… it is considered as spam may be? Sorry in this case. It includes MOCs (LDD0xx), MODs (xxxx+LDD0xx), Lepin figures ("-F" from "false")... from all the episode films (I-IX), with referenced names from Wookieepedia (https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Main_Page). This videos had already existed, but today they have been updated because of the Chistmas adquisitions. The LDD files are available if someone wants any of them, feel free to improve them. I hope you like it!

I really wanted to build this scene from TPM, but I do not own minifigures for Episode 1 Obi-Wan or Qui-Gon. For this entry, I had to be a bit creative. I decided to build brick-build figures, with turnable heads and movable arms. I used spring-loaded misslles for the lightsaber blades. I finally found a use for them XD

[M4-24 - Duel of the Fates] - The Old Republic: Deceived
Artizan posted a topic in Watto's Junkyard
"Our time has come. For 300 years, we prepared. We grew stronger. While you rested in your cradle of power, believing your people were safe... and protected. You were trusted to lead the Republic—but you were deceived, as our powers of the dark side have blinded you. You assumed no force could challenge you... and now...finally... we have returned. You were deceived. And now, your Republic... shall fall." ―Darth Malgus -

Piloted by RX-24, the Starspeeder 3000 offered direct service to the forest moon of Endor for 23 years from its original spaceport location in Disneyland. While the RX-series of droids were known for unstable personalities, the Endor-bound shuttles did *occasionally* reach their proper destination. Star Tours operated as one of the galaxy's premier travel agencies. See more images on Flickr ----- An addition to my growing collection of Disneyland ride vehicles, the Starspeeder 3000 was an obvious next model to tackle. Star Tours opened in January 1987, allowing visitors to fly into the Star Wars universe themselves for the first time. The ship's pilot Rex - voiced by Paul Reubens - ends up missing Endor and instead diving into the trench run to destroy the Death Star. The original Star Tours closed in 2010, transforming into a new version of the ride "Star Tours: The Adventures Continue." This Starspeeder model - in the original Star Tours livery - features working doors.

Inspired by the FBTB contest "Star Wars Evolved", where entrants had to build new versions of iconic Star Wars ships, I thought I'd try my hand at updating some of my favourite ship designs in the Star Wars galaxy. First up, the Naboo Starfighter. Naboo N1 Starfighter Evolved MOC Overhead by R4canine, on Flickr I decided to get rid of the yellow colour scheme of the N-1 (only partly because I don't have many yellow bricks) to make the craft look more rugged and used. I imagine this is a much bulkier craft, packing heavier lasers and engines as well as a tail gun at the back controlled by the astromech. All this ensures the next in the line of Naboo Starfighters is more powerful than its predecessor, able to contend with pirates and other attackers when the New Republic military can't. When I have had the basic TIE Fighter done I knew I also had the First Order design done, after all, it is only a matter of simple redesign and adding an antenna, right? Not right, as I have realised. First tricky question is: How many new TIE craft were introduced in the Force Awakens movie, hmm? The obvious hotrodesque red striped two-seater ship which Poe and yet-to-be-named-Finn use to escape? Like this? ..obvious... but wait: ...whaaaaaat? So yeah, there are, in fact, TWO new TIE fighters. And believe me, there are plenty of differences between old and new ships. What was meant to be a simple recoloring job and generating new instructions with few clicks, ended up being month-and-half job to do. I still believe it was worth it, though, what do you think? Much like original ships these two are commisioned builds as well and as such, have instructions available at BrickVault's website: https://www.brickvault.toys/ ...and also like before, a little movie showcasing the ships' quirks and features was produced: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JxQnjlg_tc&t=252s Cheers!

So I was going through some old Clone Wars era minifigs and some of the minifigs like Plo Koon and Kit Fisto have rubber heads where the paint has peeled off. I was wondering how I could restore them to there old forms. Which paint should I use?

Movements: We would like to down 1, then left 2 to collect the bonus on O19, then continue down to R19, with the preference being down and left. (Since I didn’t exactly feel like making an even more pic heavy build with a lot of dialogue and what not, here’s a bit longer of an intro describing what has happened.) Beltar and his squad have been moving across the surface of Endor for days now, through forest, rock, river, and a lot of mud. Over the past couple days, the squad has been the target of several attacks led by the Native Ewok’s who are hunting and leading the Rebels to their location. Two days ago, they made it into the night camp and silenced TK-9162, they awoke at the sound of the Native’s knife finishing the deed. The next day, they were ambushed while beginning their journey through the plains of Endor, killing their commanding officer: Colonel Oppenheimer with an arrow and blaster to the chest. Today, there was no surprise attack, there was no cover in these plains save for a few groves of some dark type of bamboo and sparse trees for a sneak account to have worked successfully. This time Beltar’s squad took the fight to them, or at least TK-1702 did. An arrow whizzed by them and hit the Acting-Colonel in the arm, and the singular Rebel beside the Native took a potshot which hit the Acting-Colonel in the head, what a load of luck he struck. Beltar ducked behind the slight ditch in the ground to help Acting-Colonel Faist with his Med’ supplies. TK-1702 took it upon himself, and in a moment of pure adrenaline, dropped his load of blasters and gear and drew his knife and sprinted at the attackers, he dodged the Native’s spear and the knife found its way right into the creatures face. He then rushed over to the Rebel, and killed him with a bit of a struggle. It seemed like he had rehearsed this event in his dreams, perhaps the last time he was on Endor he had a really bad experience, more than he cared to admit, and coming back to Endor must have triggered something. After patching up acting-colonel Faist, he demanded that we take a rest before moving. TK-1702 kept pacing around the bodies he killed, still eyeing the surrounding brush for anything that moved, he had already killed a squirrel after diving into a bush, as his paranoia hit a new level. Beltar and TK-9873 took a perimeter walk and where just returning to the location where the skirmish had just taken place. Beltar: We’re back hotshot, you good now? TK-1702: While you were gone, I’ve already seen movement about 5 clicks out. We need to get going. TK-9873: We’ll be fine! It seems like you need a bit of a rest yourself. TK-1702: Rest… I don’t need rest. Not when those barbarians are closing in. Beltar: Look- I don’t know what you saw when you were setting up the shield generator before- or if this has reminded you of some- TK-1702: They came in waves. It’s what they’re doing now. I don’t like it. TK-9873: Alright, well ease up a bit! Acting-Colonel Faist: Just, let him be. Beltar, Peterson- perimeter report? Beltar: Nothing around within 3 clicks from what we saw. Not sure what crazy over there was talking about. But it is entirely possible there are more of them coming. But I am not sure why they would direct so much attention at us, when the have bigger fish to fry. Acting-Colonel Faist: Yes, especially with that shield generator. Whoever failed to log Endor’s map in the Consolation’s database, and in the other Imperial Destroyers should be punished severely. At least the enemy doesn’t know where to look as well…. I’d reckon I have a few ideas where to look though. Anything else? TK-9873: We may be able to meet up with reinforcements if we get moving. I’ve picked up on comm chatter that there maybe be something around sector O19. I recommend we move there as soon as possible. Acting-Colonel Faist: Alright then, let’s get moving if we have that kind of window available. Beltar: With all due respect sir, you need rest. Give it a couple hours before we get moving. Acting-Colonel Faist: Fine. In 2 hours we move. Beltar: That’s fine by me. All we need to do now is round this gear up and get that lunatic to move. TK-9873: I’ll get the gear, well some of it. We can probably ditch some of it. Maybe make a makeshift crutch or something with one of the blasters for the Colonel. Acting-Colonel Faist: No no, I’ll be quite alright walking. Beltar: Alright. Well, we might as well enjoy these couple hours of rest. Beltar looked up to the stars where the Death Star II sat, he could almost see the explosions of the fighters on both sides becoming pulverized to ashes and dust, and the capital ships fire leaving burn marks on hulls. He was surprised the Empire didn’t divert more forces to Endor, twenty-five thousand destroyers and they only brought a couple dozen destroyers and light cruisers plus a Super, but he was informed there would be a ‘special show’ sometime in the battle. He had no idea what that meant. Beltar hoped that Alyin and the dozen or so other pilots he knew where having better luck and more fun than he was having down here on this mud-ball. ==== Well that’s it for this weeks build, hopefully you enjoyed! It was quite nice to write a lot of text, haven’t done that in a while, hopefully it was effective at getting the point across. I took a little bit of liberty of making the plains biome very lush, as even though we saw the dry planes in the Ewok movies, I’d like to think the entire planet is practically green (save for the deserts). Oh yeah- still a lot of terrain. I’d like to try something like Gubi’s build two weeks ago which a whole lotta mixtures between bricks and plates and tiles, but that is a whole new level of terrain, and I have no idea where to begin with that with my poorly sorted parts- oh well. Oh, and sorry for the wonky lighting which changed a couple times. (my bad!) Anyways, thanks for reading, C & C welcome! ~Beltar

So a few years back I set out to make my first Star Wars MOC (as an adult that is). I was really into The Clone Wars and decided to start with something small. I finally decided on the Delta-7B, as it was featured heavily in the series. And I had a bigger goal that I was aiming for, that it would be a part of. This was my first minifig scaled MOC, long before my Ghost, Phantom, etc. Though I've had these sitting on my desk for years, it wasn't until recently that a few new pieces came out that finally added the finishing touches to them. So I've finally decided to show them off, in lieu of the bigger thing I'll be showing in the "hopefully" near future. So lets just jump into it. Anakin and Ahsoka's Delta-7Bs. Delta-7B (1) Delta-7B (2) Closer look at Anakin's. Anakin's Delta-7B (1) Anakin's Delta-7B (4) Closer look at Ahsoka's. Ahsoka's Delta-7B (1) Ahsoka's Delta-7B (4) I also designed Hyperdrive Ring's for them. But haven't built either yet. So, after a year of on/off work, it is nearly complete. After Lego released their pitiful version of the Carbon Freezing Chamber from Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, I began work on making a model more faithful to the source material. After scavenging the internet for ideas, I could not find anything that looked nearly good enough, so I had to start from the horrible official Lego set. Before starting I came up with a set of guidelines to prevent complacency with mediocrity: 1) Sturdy enough that it could be lifted by any section without breaking 2) Faithful to Lego’s design motifs 3) As circular as Lego bricks would allow 4) No visible holes on the exterior where they should not be holes 5) The lift must be able to stay in the upright position, be able to have a Minifigure placed on it while in the upright position without depressing or breaking, go up and down smoothly, and be able to go down far enough so the Minifigure standing on it would be below the platform After about twenty iterations, I finally landed on this design. I am missing Lando and Lobot Minifigures at the moment, and there are a few minor tweaks I am going to make, but for the most part, it is done. Up next is the platform section Luke and Darth Vader fight on, but that’s a project for future me. PS: I am working on instructions, but I am unsure what channels there are for distributing them.
