This Blacktron 1 colored passenger train is modeled after the General Motors Aerotrain concept of 1955. I modified the engine to have two bogies (one of which can be replaced with a 9V motor to power the train) instead of the one bogie and one fixed axle of the original. The passenger cars were lengthened from 16 to 24 studs and Jacob's bogies placed in two spots to lessen the part count. (Yes, it bears more than a passing resemblance to a certain other space train of mine... let's just say some espionage was involved concerning the CS design plans for that train!) The train will be used on my Blacktron space base, shuttling VIP's around on tours of my base. Alternatively, it could be used to get personnel to / from the base and the off-site living quarters. (you can read more about my Blacktron fleet in it's own thread in the Sci-Fi forum.) The windows in the train were difficult to get right, but I managed to attach them. Inverted trans-yellow 2x2 slopes that would make this way easier are coming in a set releasing in March, but I'm not waiting that long! (The tail car is currently missing a few parts for the roof.) The cab roof is removable and a driver can be placed at the controls, but the coaches are totally impossible to get into due to the construction techniques used. (Also, two control panel double-cheese slopes, two 1x1 number tiles, and two radiator donut tiles are missing from the model, among a few other parts.) As for when this will be built in the real world, it will be soon. The last few parts for the train were ordered 1/14/25. Update 1/15/25! This space train station (named 'Base Terminus') is to be used with my retro-futuristic Blacktron passenger train to get staff and VIP's to and from the space base. (Some printed parts are not in the picture, but they will be when it's built in real life.) Thoughts? -
This is the fifth version of my modification of set 7997 (Train Station). Here are my notes to recap my progress from stock set to version five: I got the original set 7997 (shown above) in 2007, along with a double rail crossover for my Birthday. I wanted to make it a full building but didn't have the parts. By 2008, I had discovered Bricklink, but the station was in pieces by then and was not re-created until early 2012. The station was a stock set, while I searched for ideas. Eventually, I came across a build by a fellow Eurobricks user named Lazarus that incorporated a modular basis, a full building (street & track-sides) & a appealing design. I saved a picture of it and made my own design based on his. I included really neat features, (such as the arched lattice windows made with a fence) but I went too far and made it impossible to transport to train shows and LUG meetings. The platforms were very flimsy, and during the move to a new house in 2013, it shattered into small chunks. So, I went back to the drawing board, scrapping everything but the building itself. The 2015 version of the model was eventually scrapped in 2020 after it was accidentally dropped and destroyed. However, now in 2024 I made a red version of that model, with a few new parts added on. It has one platform, plentiful outside seating and a removable roof with second floor office. There are many other changes from the set, but the heart and soul of that 2007 set is still there. The name of the station is Edgewood, and it is staffed by the two figures standing on the platform. Here is the street side of the station, with the brick-built LEGO railway logo plainly visible. I decided on the swapped color scheme because of the similar yellow-to-red color swap sets 4554 - Mero Station / 2150 - Train station from 1991 / 1996 respectively. Upstairs is the station master's office. (Don't ask me how he gets up here - I don't know!) Here we can see the interior of the station's main floor, with ticket machines and refreshment stand. So I wanted to do something detailing the environment of a setting this time, rather than having a specific goal in mind. It started out as a library. I was going to have cool columns and a giant staircase, and then it turned into the grand entrance to a building. The building didn't quite come together right, so I made it into a futuristic train station! Included a couple mini figures, and there you have it! Here's the backstory I wrote up: On the far-off world of Palameria, the Senate of the Regency of Constellations is in session! Senator Cassandra Delgado, accompanied by an entourage of handmaidens and guard, has arrived at the capital. En route to a meeting with the Minister of Culture, Senator Delgado must deliver a mystical key, and receive a mysterious book in return! Hi all! I've recently been working on a bunch of train-related projects and figured i'd need a place to display them once a substantial amount have been built. I wanted to do a city center station that, while still small enough to be affordable, gave an impression of being bigger than it actually was. And while it isn't based on the similar-sounding King's Cross, it does deliberately have a very London design. The result is half-terminus, half continuous with the platforms below street level. I tried to render it all as one but my computer doesn't have the processing power for all those bricks! I hope you don't mind seeing the build in its 3 main sections. SECTION 1: The building Ground Floor: First Floor: Front view: SECTION 2: The canopy This will be much longer in the final model. The version rendered here is designed to cover the remainder of the 32 x 32 baseplate. SECTION 3: Base level: Platform & Concourse I hope this has been an interesting looking build to you, I'll update this feed when I finally get around to making it for real!! Hi everyone, In this topic I wanted to show you all my progress on my first modular building for a new city called Canalview. Currently I lack the space to actually display a city, so I wanted to really take the time to design and create each building. The first one is a grand central station. In the past years I made several attempt to create such a building, of which some are more succesfull than others. This model was inspired by set 10199 / 10249, Winter Village toy Shop. I originally built this as an open-back building in 2013, and scrapped it in 2015 for a larger, full-bodied station. I never did forget about this model, and rediscovered it while looking for my Hogsmeade station to go with my Hogwarts Express model I had designed. The model will be finished in real bricks very soon, and as such I have tweaked it again by adding stairs to the top floor where the station master's office is. The track side also features a space for eight printed 1 x 1 letter tiles to be placed to designate the station name along with plenty of passenger seating along the five-track-long platform. That's three tracks longer than the new Winter Village train station, and mine also features a rear wall and second story! Here is the street side of the station. This side includes an overhang that protects passengers entering the structure from the rain along with a wheelchair / luggage ramp access to the platform. The model features two modular lift-off levels and two split-away platform sections, along with some inside details. The lower floor features a fireplace, four chairs, and a desk for workers to hand out tickets. The top level features the station master's office, which is accessible via the staircase from the lower level. Here is the complete LDD file. I already have 95% of this model collected IRL, and I just need to order the last 500 parts early next month. Comments, Questions, and Complaints are always welcome! I started designing this station model back in early December of last year, basing it off of set 60050, Train Station from Summer 2014. I got stuck with the set's roof, and put it aside. Then, earlier this week, I got inspiration to remove the roof and start afresh. I eventually removed the big 2 x 12 x 4 windscreens and replace them with two rows of 1 x 2 x 3 windows. I removed the hanging station clock and added the tower, which has unprinted faces in LDD but it should use this print In real llfe: http://alpha.bricklink.com/pages/clone/catalogitem.page?P=3960pb024#T=C&C=11 Anyway, the station has four ticket machines outside, 12 seats on the platform, with eight more seats inside (four of those are for seating in the pizzeria / dining area). Their is even a coffee machine to quench the thirst of the caffeine addicted passengers, station master and / or train crew! The street and track sides both feature eight letters each to name your station. You could even name it Legocity, just like in the original set, or maybe something simple like Bricktown, Duplobay, Ogelvill, or the ever popular name of Galidor. The inside features the dining area for customers of the pizza restaurant, seating for weary travelers and a ticket kiosk for the lone station employee. The station's right and left platform can be extended or removed. This might be the next best thing, and besides, the original set looks too modern for his railroad, plus it doesn't go well with the 9V era stuff anyway...

I have some difficulties in placing this topic in correct section. Should it be Trains? On the other hand it is supposed to work in a modular town, that's why I put it in Town. This is my biggest creation so far. Actually those are two modulars designed to be placed together on a display. The depth is 48 studs instead of regular 32 because of tracks and platform. I decided it was unrealistic to stick to 32 and still have decent building. Anyway, on with presentation :) What I hope is apparent from the picture above is that I incorporated some lights into these structures. The old 9V battery box is in the warehouse and gives power to all six pairs of lights (2x 9V in warehouse and 4x PF in station). There is also old style 9V switch that controls turning lights on and off without the need to reach for the battery box (black switch on the side of the warehouse). Before I show you the warehouse let's have a look at the platform: The warehouse: This is how the electric parts are distributed in the warehouse. You can also see the inside with some pallets and a cupboard for employees. Now, let's have a look at the station building: First - the roof. This is where I put all the lights that go with the station. This is how it looks like from the underside: That's 4 pairs of PF lights, one PF extension cable and one 9V cable to provide easy to disconnect outlet. The station itself has some nice flowers on the front, benches for passengers, some roof over the platform and a phone booth. That's what you could already see from the outside. So let's have a look inside :) There is a bit o a stir at the moment because of some careless passenger. Don't worry - this is being cleaned as we speak :) Looking from the front of the station you have confectionery that sells ice cream too and on the right your typical railway station fast food stand (with microwave in case your yesterday pizza is cold! :D) Looking from the platform side on the left there are some tables belonging to the restaurant, ticket booth and some waiting area. On the right there is an obligatory public toilet :), two gaming machines and luggage deposit lockers. Hi all Here's another new MOC. Moving away from residential buildings but keeping the style with black, white and grey boxes with a lot of glass to provide a contemporary/modern design, my latest building is a monorail station with a sushi and fish restaurant. The big "M" of the city's fast monorail network isn't just attracting many commuters every day but also sushi and fish lovers all over town. Monorail station & sushi grill by Polar Stein, on Flickr During first week of opening, a student in a shark costume was hired to attract commuters and passengers walking by. The entire building is on pillars. At street level (ground floor) there is a disabled parking space and parking space for bikes. The small sushi and fish restaurant extends over first and second level, accessible via stairs and the elevator. At first level there are also restrooms. The second level connects to the monorail station (right end of the building) and is accessible both via stairs and the elevator. A small roof terrace on top of the restaurant provides views over the city. This station was inspired way back in 2013 by a long since expired Ideas project (link to my inspiration: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/34642 ), which was doubled in size and now features a double tracked platform + canopy and quad-sided clock tower. NOTE: You may want to cut two base-plates to a 8 x 40 size where the gaps are at the end of the platform. The station proper has removable upper roof and second floor sections. The top floor "floats" on tiles, and is removable to reach the sales counter on the main floor. Also removable is the platform and train canopy, as it is connected to the station via Technic pins. The double track train canopy was inspired by CITY set 60103, Airport Air Show, while the clock faces are supposed to feature this print: http://alpha.brickli...0pb024#T=C&C=11 The street side of the station has space for 8 printed 1 x 1 letters, allowing you to name the station what you want. If i ever did build this, which I probably won't, I would name it Glenncoe, after the location of a 12 inch ride-on real steam railway, The Wabash Frisco and Pacific Rail Road at Glencoe (spelled with only 1 "N") Missouri. (See their pretty cool website here: http://www.wfprr.com/default.htm ) The second floor has the switching control room and station managers office while the lower floor has the ticket desk and inside waiting rooms. By the way: the upper floor floats inside the walls on some tile-topped pillars, and is not connected to the build by studs in any way. NOTE: This train station most likely will never be built by me as I already have 3 stations as of now. But it IS build able in real life, so if anyone of you guys want to take a stab at this station, be my guest and please post the pictures both here and in your own thread. Hello everyone, The latest modular inspired me to make my own hotel with a theme a little closer to home, a Victorian era hotel. Some typical elements of the period I have included and some newer ones too. Arched windows, red brick, steep roofs and more. Unfortunately, progress on Botanical Gardens is now delayed while TLG decides whether 2022 parts (which were available on the old B&P site) should be made available on their new, 'improved' combined site.In the meantime, here are photos of where I have got to.The original Botanical Gardens project is here:https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/182622-moc-botanical-gardens-station/The new version will have improved construction and detailing. The full station includes restaurant, offices, lift, telephone exchange, grand staircase, ticket office, Post Office counter, left luggage counter, stairs down (to toilets, platform 2 and underground station) information desk, kiosk, news stand and florist. Platforms and glass canopy will follow in 2023.It is now joined by a twin building on the opposite side of the tracks: a substation for supplying power to the electric trains, which features four rotary converters and a control room. I've not posted for a while but that's because Lego is a winter pursuit for me and the dark evenings have prompted me to get busy again. My Art Nouveau Station, Botanical Gardens, was everything I wanted it to be, and I've decided that I have to complete the building: The first instalment was only 1/3 of the conceptualised structure. So, here is a teaser for the next stage to be completed, the middle section, with grand staircase, lifts (not working), left luggage and entrance to stairs down (to underground station, toilets, and platform 2). Real life ISS is constantly growing with new modules attached. So set #21321 has become outdated. In this video I will show how to add missing modules "Nauka" and "Prichal" to the Station and how to upgrade russian segment for better resemblance. Everything is made from extra parts from this set (and parts from one of Soyuz spacecrafts from this set) or from enough easy-to-find parts. Except for solar panels, which I used from Shuttle Discovery 10231 (But you may use the ones from newer and cheapier sets like 60227). Thanks for watching! Keep your stations safe! -
As @legotownlinz listed last year, recent trains have been: 2022 60335 Train Station 60336 Freight Train 60337 High Speed Passenger Train 76405 Hogwarts Express Collector’s Edition 10308 Holiday Main Street (trolley/tram) 2021 N/A 2020 10277 Crocodile Locomotive 40370 Trains 40th Anniversary Set (GWP) 60271 Main Square (tram) 2019 70424 Ghost Train Express 71044 Disney Train 2018 75955 Hogwarts Express 60197 Passenger Train 60198 Cargo Train 2017 10259 Winter Village Station 2016 10254 Winter Holiday Train Sets with a strikethrough are retired. Itallicised sets are ones with expected imminent retirement. Bold sets are new for 2022. Following this pattern, a CITY cargo and passenger train are very likely to be released in 2022 - this two trains every four years pattern dates back to 2006. According to Brickset, 60271 will be retired at the end of 2021. The crocodile has just been retired, as has the Disney Train, meaning that once the City trains are discontinued, the Hogwarts Express will be the only one left. It’s also worth noting that the Hogwarts Express is the only Harry Potter set left from the first wave when it returned back in 2018. 2021 was the first year there hasn’t been a train set at minifigure scale, so hopefully we’ll get another other next year.
