Hey guys, I'm making a fantasy moc of an evil lords tower. I need help texturing the walls because I don't wanna repeat the same thing the whole way up the tower (it will be 68cm tall) and I don't wanna use techniques from the LOTR set "Orthanc" because I have that one and I'll be displaying them on the same shelf. I'm using black for pretty much the whole thing. Does anyone have any advice? Please?

Hi guys! I was really happy after sharing my first MOC (this one) with your comments , so i destroy that one and build this other moc (I'm a little short on bricks). In this case, i want to think this wall is part of a greatest fortress that's build on a mountain. Is still a pretty basic build but i'm satisfaced with the result. So here it is: Assault on the wall by Lord Tulkas, en Flickr Assault on the wall by Lord Tulkas, en Flickr Assault on the wall by Lord Tulkas, en Flickr Assault on the wall by Lord Tulkas, en Flickr Assault on the wall by Lord Tulkas, en Flickr Assault on the wall by Lord Tulkas, en Flickr Assault on the wall by Lord Tulkas, en Flickr Assault on the wall by Lord Tulkas, en Flickr Assault on the wall by Lord Tulkas, en Flickr And here are some poor photos that show better the estructure: Assault on the wall by Lord Tulkas, en Flickr Assault on the wall by Lord Tulkas, en Flickr Assault on the wall by Lord Tulkas, en Flickr Thanks for watching!

The completed collab that John and I built for Brickfair VA 2016 where it won Best Castle/Knights. The base is 130×98 studs making it our largest build ever, and it weighs a whopping 87 pounds! Which is 56 pounds more than our next largest build, which was our big collab build last year, Katoren. Every building has a full interior and all the doors actually open. We tried to include tons of little details, and there are some interesting easter eggs to look for: sig figs, thieves, snowball fights, goats, dragons, fishermen, and custom weapons. You can see more pictures of the 7 individual modules on their own build pages: Nordheim Docks, Nordheim Paddock, Nordheim Harbormaster, Nordheim Farmhouse, Nordheim Armory, Nordheim Greathouse, and Nordheim Fjall. Nordheim is a bustling city in Mitgardia. Its harbor and Dwarven mine make it a center of commerce, while its strong walls offer protection from the Northern wilderness. There are more pictures on brickbuilt. We hope you enjoy our latest and biggest collaboration

Shepherds Simon and Sarah and their flock of sheep 1 sheep, 2 sheep, 3 sheep, ... . That looks correct. It's a beautiful Monday morning. Or Tuesday? Or Wednesday? For the sheep, all days were the same, and for Simon the shepherd, actually, too. Together with his sister Sarah they started a sheep farm here in Damaborg. From MAESTRO they got a nice piece of land at the end of the settlement, Near the wooden ramparts. Which was ideal, because under the walkways Simon made stalls for his sheep. So it was a nice morning. In the distance, some murmurs sounded and marching footsteps approached. Sarah!!! Sarah recognized the voice, dropped everything, and ran to the fence of the fence. Maarten! Maarten had just returned from a reconnaissance mission. Along with a reconnaissance company, he marched to The Intelligence Headquarters. He received permission from Captain Bert to leave the marching procession and go to his wife Sarah already. After days in the unexplored territories, he was so happy to fall in the arms of Sarah. He could not wait to have a good pint of apple cider as he has so many experiences and stories to tell his wife and brother-in-law. (New part of story 24/3) Simon smiled seeing his brother-in-law and Sarah hugging. Simon arrived just in time as well. The first sheeps could be sheared and the fresh wool has to be sent to the cloth makers of Damaborg. Decent and warm clothing could be very important the moment the bigger exploration missions will start. Simon looked again to his sheep. A moment of sadness fell over him knowing that some of his sheep will be slaughtered soon for meat. He knows it is a part of the job, but still it is the part he doesn't like. Oh well, Simon is happy the sheep can at graze peacefully without any sorrows right now. --- Thanks for watching (and reading if you had the time)! C&C welcome :) It was a very fun moc to make and happy I could do something with those sheep I discovered that you can place them diagonally as well, wich is genius of LEGO! will be licenced as a medium plantation. I could have expanded the grasslands with green baseplates and what vegetation, but to be honest, I didn't see the plusvalue of it.

Great Wall of Batuhan Great Wall of Batuhan The great wall of Batuhan protects the village from the evils of the Wither Woods. Overview Construction was commanded and overseen by Aarash the Ardent using stone from Buğra Quarry. Skilled stoneworkers from Kaliphlin and beyond worked for seven years to complete the wall. It is a beautiful day. The shepherd just sat quietly by the flock. The sentinels on the wall peer across the fields, nothing to be seen. In the city, life goes on quietly. What a lovely, peaceful day. Inside the walls, life also goes its course. The worst thing that happens is that the little boy trips when he wants to run to his father who is working in the garden. The guards can enjoy it, but fortunately, his mother arrives just then. The other cottage belongs to a somewhat eccentric figure. Not unfriendly, but withdrawn, mysterious. Its signboard is also a mystery; there is nothing on it. But, oh, what a lovely, peaceful day it is! Or...

Dear eager eurobricks readers, After my Luctor adventure (see http://mocpages.com/moc.php/414168), I thought the story was all over and that it would dust away in a corner, yellowing faster than a ripening banana. However, the company that I sold it to asked me if it could open their 35-year business anniversary by driving through a polystyrene wall! They didn't prepare me for the terror that was coming.... Nearly crushed a one-year priceless Lego creation! But what a good use of a vehicle to give it one last appearance before it dusts away in the history books! Enjoy the video! (in Dutch, sorry...) More videos to get you informed about the Luctor: More about the Luctor itself (this video has already sometime ago been posted here) Can you think of a bigger reward for building a Lego MOC?

My 7th entry into the CCC XIV, for the Small Miscellaneous category. The colorscheme was inspired by Legopard and Brickvader’s Venice. I wanted to try something a little different from the typical vineyard, so I decided to do a wall and tower surrounding it. Harvest time brings plenty of activity to the vineyard as everyone works together to gather the ripe grapes. Contests to see who can harvest most are common, though some take a more relaxed approach. More pictures on Brickbuilt Thanks for looking, C&C welcome

This is my 5th entry into the Colossal Castle Contest XIV, for the Ice Castle category. Burg Eltz castle in Germany is one of my favorite castles, and that castle was my main inspiration for this build. My model stands 84 studs tall, and features a full interior via 2 hinging walls sections. Harburg Castle is located in the mountain range near the Nocturnus border in Mitgardia. The lord of the castle, Karsten Storrar, receives an unexpected visit from his brother Sir Glorfindel. Inside the castle the cook prepares some fresh baked goods while a few guards take their mid-day meal. "Karsten! It is good to see you again!" "Likewise, but what brings my famous little brother and Dedan the hunter to Harburg?" Karsten asked jokingly, though his tone soon shifted as he posed another question, "New tidings of the Algus in the North?" "No, the Kylma Katsella and new fortifications seem to be holding back those foes. It's danger from the east that brings me, as we've heard many reports of the Black Spire's influence in Nocturnus growing stronger. Naturally, Harburg's location on the Nocturnus border makes it an important position to have well defended. We've come to warn you and other towns and villages that their defenses should be strengthened in the face of this possible threat," Glorfindel answered. "Yes, I've heard these rumors myself and tried to prepare accordingly. Unfortunately, many of the neighboring lords and jarls feel that these rumours are unfounded." "Which is why we've come to you first," Dedan interjected, "we hoped that your influence in this region of Mitgardia might help to convince the others." "Well I'm happy to do what I can, though of course you understand the difficulty of the situation. The recent Algus threat has already weakened most towns and villages, as they sent supplies and men to fortify the North. But enough of this gloomy talk, come! The twins will be thrilled to have a visit from their uncle, and I'm sure Karin will be pleased to see you as well." And with that, the group headed into the protection and welcoming warmth of the keep. On a white backdrop: There are plenty more pictures on brickbuilt. I'm quite pleased with how this turned out, and am looking forward to developing more stories with Glorfindel's family. C&C always welcome

Location: C09 - Orinshi Tags: Building, Land vehicle Log #007 – 26 Novembrinali 3816 It was a very calm night. And when It's calm outside, I like to drive a few rounds around Orenshi's HQ defense walls with my High Speed Kart™. The guards are okay with this and the long stretched road, mostly used for transport by day light, is a very fine looking road. I wish I could say that as well to the walls themselves; looks like Kawashita is cutting down on gardeners around here. Not much later on, one of the guards signed me to stop. While I did that, he walked to me and informed me that we had an intruder. The intruder by now is dead and charcoaled when trying to hop over the wall. The poor soul had probably no idea that the empty space between the vertical generator and the beams, is twice as hot and causes instant death. We have no idea ATM who or to what this individual is affiliated with. But I suppose someone like Dr. Jakob could trace this person's DNA and suit origins in his lab. This was a commissioned model based off of Leanan Manor. This version is a bit larger and features a full interior that can be reached via lift off floors or the hinging function. All the doors and window shutters actually open and close. It is also an entry into the small miscellaneous category of the Colossal Castle Contest. Leanorll Manor sits on a rock island in the middle of a placid lake. This morning, one of the servants brings in fresh water and kindling while the cook peels an apple. Lord Leanor makes his morning rounds and checks in with the roof top sentry. While the area has enjoyed a period of peace, terrible rumors from Nocturnus keep everyone on edge. See more on brickbuilt. Thanks for looking, another Avalonian build is coming soon

Another contribution to the Ye Old Merry Battleground display. I had a lot of fun with this build, using tan and dark bley together, along with the red and dark red as accents. It seemed to fit Kaliphlin well, so here it is. I'll be posting my other YOMB builds in the Historic Themes soon. Ellena’s bakery is well known for her delicious pies, breads, and other baked goods. "Well good evening Zia," Ellena said as she set aside her rolling pin. "It is a peaceful night, a nice change from the recent wars and uprisings in the land. But I didn't come here to discuss politics, I wanted to buy 2 loaves of bread and a tray of cookies." "Certainly!" Ellena replied, "I have some that still warm, here you are." "Thank you! I will likely be back tomorrow to pick up some tarts." Zia said, as she paid for the food. "You're welcome to stop by anytime, good night." More pictures on brickbuilt. Thanks for looking

This was built as part of the InnovaLUG collab, Ye Old Merry Battleground, for Brickfair Virginia.Check out the full collab here. Given the colorscheme and landscape, I thought this would fit well in Avalonia. I enjoyed getting to use some of our new sand green parts, and small castles/manors are always fun to build. There is no interior as when building this, Nordheim was still altogether and I was short on parts and time. Sir Ruari Leanin leads some of his soldiers out on a tax collecting tour. Meanwhile, some Forestmen take advantage of his leave-taking... There are a few more pictures on brickbuilt. Your comments and suggestions are always welcome

This is my third MOC and the first i made with "new" pieces.... My collection is almost entirely from the 80's, 90's and early 2000's, so i used to have a lot of regular bricks in blue, yellow, white, black and red. Now i have adquire some new LEGO sets and the options are growing (i live in Argentina and the price of LEGO is ridiculous)... I build it last year but my camera was broken and today i got fixed it... About the MOC: This is the first line of defense in the kingdom... is a small structure with a small garrison... Time is peaceful so they can even go outside and cut the grass! As always, comments and criticism is most welcome! This was built for the ABS Builder Challenge, Round 1.2 It was largely inspired by Cesbrick’s amazing Kid’s Room model. This was quite an enjoyable change from my typical minifigure scale Castle creations. Both the closet doors and main door do open and close. You can see more pictures on brickbuilt. My phase 2 windmill, this is another build influenced by Skyrim, the windmill is based off of the typical windmills seen in game. I also tried to replicate the tundra look that is common in many regions of Skyrim. This was also my entry to the 2017 Brickstory contest, for the Early Middle Age category. The model features working windmill blades and grindstone, both simultaneously operated by a crank on the back of the windmill. Previous story installments: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th. Glorfindel and Dedan visit the windmill in Holt to speak with Jarl Arfast. "Welcome, Sir Glorfindel! I'm glad you were willing to meet me here, harvest time sees me at the windmill more often than my hall." "Greetings Jarl, it's nice to have a meeting outside for once. This is my friend, Dedan the hunter." "Good day, hunter Dedan," replied Arfast, "I imagine you two have come with warnings of the conflict in Nocturnus? I can assure you all our warriors have been keeping a watchful eye on our borders and will continue to do so. Though our numbers are limited after the Algus war," he continued sadly. "Yes, that conflict has weakened our forces considerably. I may have some encouraging news though, as I've recently returned from Valholl, and some of the centrally located towns and villages have agreed to send some of their own troops to help reinforce our borders. The troops will be allotted to various villages who are deemed to have special need. And the soldiers will be placed directly under the jarls and lords command." "That is good news! Particularly during this season when our men are so busy preparing for the coming winter months. Thank you Glorfindel." "You are most welcome, Mitgardia must stand together to survive. Now Dedan and I must be off to Firoir on a pressing matter. So good day, Jarl." Check out more pictures here. C&C welcome

My first model of 2017, I have had the idea for this build for sometime, and finally found time to do it. The building is modeled after Bits and Pieces, the general store in Solitude from the game Skyrim. I used the same stonework design as I did in my Nordheim Farmhouse creation, though this time in dark bley. A tutorial for that technique is available. The rather complex layout of the building offered some challenges to recreate in LEGO, but I’m quite pleased with the finished result. It lifts off the base and hinges open to reveal the full interior. Previous story installments: 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Sigurd’s General Goods is the largest general store in Daydelon. It not only provides supplies, but is also a common meeting place for the people of the city. Today Glorfindel is met there by a Mitgardian courier. It had been two months since Glorfindel's distasteful run in with Lord Tuinis, and in that time Glorfindel had made several other more successful trips to lords and jarls in the area. He also made the journey to Valholl for a council of Parliament, and now was checking in at Daydelon before heading back to the border. "Greetings Sir, I bring word of the council's decision..." I tried my hand at a few photo edits with this build as well: As usual, there are plenty more pictures on our website. Did not make my goal of completing Age of Mitgardia last year, but now I'm only 3 mill builds away, so the end is near C&C appreciated .

Hello Lego Castle Fans! for starters - it's going to be a long slow project :) Do you remember 6057 Sea Serpent set from 1992? I've never had this set in my collection, I thought it might be worth building a new version... for Black Falcons fraction! One week ago I started building my first ship project - Medieval Cog "The Black Serpent"! This is still work in progress moc, I have a lot of work to do :) Now, has 43 cm long and almost 900 parts (will be more). Then I will make my own sail, so far I have prepared the material (my old pillow), I painted it white, I still have to paint the Black Falsons logo. But it's not over! I also want buils some area, fragment of sea and coast with some stronghold - for Raven Knights. The next steps are: - complete the ship's design, - make a sail, - order a lot of new parts, - hunt few sheeps from set 10775 I prepared the first material from this project, if you are interested, check out my youtube - Edge of Bricks channel :)

I have seen a number of MODs to imperial fort sets recently on social media and they often use the newer LEGO masonry profile bricks to add some color to the plain white walls. Over the past few years I have learned a number of fun wall texture techniques from @Ayrlego and others and I wanted to share more about how to use them! Often combining one or more of these techniques can make the walls look more natural. When using 1x white bricks, I think using small 1x2 and 1x3 bricks looks more natural than larger 1x4, 1x6, or 1x8. Using masonry profile, log profile, or line profile bricks can add surface roughness to the wall. By using 1x2 non-white plates (tans here), you can add some random color shapes to the wall. This is my favorite wall texture technique. Jumper plates positioned halfway into the wall can be used to stick partway out and add some depth. 1x2 rail plates can add larger extrusions. Jumper plates can also be used to inset windows slightly back into the wall. 1x1 round plates and round bricks can break up the monotony of a wall. I especially like 1x1 plates because they add small details. SNOT bricks can be added to the wall and 1x1 and 1x2 tiles can be attached on the outside of the wall. Headlight bricks can be turned on the their side to include a LEGO stud-sized circle protrusion from the wall. In the recent Naval Intelligence Office in Port Woodhouse MOC I made, I combined the techniques described above to try to add some natural textures to the wall. Colored 1x2 plates attached to the top/bottom of masonry bricks help make them blend in more naturally. If you add a whole bunch of tile protrusions from the walls, it can give it a rougher style texture. This cottage is from a recent Produce Farm MOC build. Hopefully some of these techniques can help add new details to your imperial fort walls in your next build!

So I'm working on a LDD build based on Number 2's office from The Prisoner. The various minifigs and props I've built and have come out great, and I've gotten started on the room itself. I don't have a tremendous amount of experience building... er... buildings (as opposed to vehicles and props, etc), but building the walls of the room went alright until I got to the slopey bits at the bases of the walls/edge of the floor. As you can see, the current arrangement I've got for the slopey bits--4x8 plates flanked by 8x3 wedge tiles tilted "26.7" (I don't know if that's degrees or some other unit of measurement, but it's the number displayed in LDD's hinge tool)--doesn't fit at all, and trial and error hasn't been going great, and I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure that out. I have any specific requirements for how steep the slopey bits should be or how much room should be left for the flat part of the floor, but I want the edges of the wedges to be flush with one another so the bottom edges create a circle for the floor, and I'd prefer the slope be at an obtuse angle. There's probably math involved, but I'm at a loss as to the specifics. I don't math good. There are twelve wall pieces, each with a footprint of 1x12, and the hinges between them are rotated 30 units (again, according to LDD's hinge tool). By a sheer stroke of luck, this turned out to be exactly the right size, so I'd like to not mess with that part too much (I'm probably gonna redesign the purple bits so they have the correct number of black lines later on, and to add a door and some sort of mounting arrangement for a viewscreen, though those things won't require and changes their dimensions). The floor will probably be much easier, since there's only one axis of rotation and I already know what the angle is going to be for that, but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
