  1. Here's a rundown of what I built for the BioCup 2024. BioCup 2024 R0: Journey to Mars! Journey to Mars by Mohamed Marei, on Flickr "Seven years of astronaut school. Seven more years of travel... And here we are. RING RING RING .... Time to wake up." Built for the preliminary round of the BioCup. Theme: space. For this MOC, I combined the classic Lunar Buggy aesthetic with some modern concept art designs to yield this piece. The astronaut builds on top of a Technic Fig whose arms are swapped out for thicker-looking padded arms. The legs get a similar treatment with metal ingots in white. Merlin the deranged! by Mohamed Marei, on Flickr "Merlin's newfound fascination with alchemy has yielded an array of.... interesting experiments, to say the least." Built for BioCup 2024 R1 Theme: Energy Subtheme: Chemical Building something interesting for this round was a real challenge. I toyed around with various concepts until I stumbled upon my limited collection of light nougat bricks.. and then a face emerged. Slowly over the next few days, I built up Merlin and the rest of the scene, inspired by an alchemical twist on the traditional Dungeons and Dragons evil wizard trope. The whole time I was building, you could hear me sing "Necromancer" by Judas Priest. In fact, this ended up being the theme song of this build, and Merlin was built in the image of Rob Halford, legendary musician and Judas Priest frontman, who's also a native Brummie! The gargoyles at the back came last; they were more of an afterthought that panned out quite well I must admit. Sadly, this MOC didn't make it through the matchup I was in, but I took it to my display at Brick Festival Birmingham the following day (Saturday 22nd of June), where it received widespread critical acclaim.
  2. Rockwail School of Orphans Rockwail has seen the passing of many kings and rulers, each leaving their own mark in history and on the city. Not all that long ago, relatively speaking at least, the iron fist rule of king Zoroaster took a particularly heavy toll on the residents of Rockwail. Many lives were lost due to his warmongering and exploitation of miners and labor slaves. As a consequence, the amount of orphans peaked during this period. When Theophraster I, Zoroaster's half-brother, claimed the throne, he sought to repair some of the damage Zoroaster had done. He believed orphans were a key to turn the ravaged economy around, so he built an orphanage and established an education program. His efforts bore fruit, for him and the city. His apparent philanthropy earned him the respect and support from the scarred people of Rockwail, and the word also spread beyond the city. In rough and tough Nocturnus, these 'soft' policies were looked down on by some of the greater Lords, but merchants and craftsmen flocked to the city! Later, despite dwindling numbers of orphans because of peaceful times, Theophraster II continued to invest in the future of the disadvantaged, by founding the Rockwail School of Orphans. The School of Orphans is not as big as it used to be at some point, but one of its most prominent and remarkable buildings is still in use today, and is maintained with funds from the royal treasury. And somehow, it's the place Exetrius Centario of Zotharith found himself in... He looked up from his reading material and gazed at the window. He put his book away for a moment and stood up to overlook the square of the Four Virtues. It appeared peaceful, a little quieter during daytime than Zotharith. The sudden thought of home, so far away, made his mind wander between the turns his life had taken ever since the Civil War, the places he visited and the people he met. Before the war, he was just a mage trying to climb the ranks. Okay, maybe not your average mage, but the second son of the wizard ruler, Onicius. Sometimes, he was sent out for a task by the Order of Zotharith, but generally he was around his home city a lot. Once, he traveled to Kyrrath to visit his aunt. That was the furthest he had ever been. His elder brother, on the other hand... Anyway, during the Nocturnus Civil War he joined the 1st Corps of Zotharith, which was hunting down Raavage through the Rakath mountains, and he eventually ended up defeating him. But if that wasn't hard to believe enough, he also got to attend the victory party in Cedrica, with Queen Ylspeth! As well as the legendary Warlords, with some of whom he discussed the future of Nocturnus, in Merodaquinas. No big deal, right? It was hard to fathom. After the storm of events, he returned to Zotharith. Luckily, he found his father, mother and sister (who served in the 2nd Corps) in good health. Furthermore, the city seemed to be completely unharmed by the war. It seemed like he would be easing into his old and familiar life again, until a letter from Rockwail came. It was a personal request from King Yurdtroth, the city's new ruler (since Raavage's occupation ended), adressed to Onicius Centario. He was looking for someone to fill the position of Wizard of Rockwail, as well as an ambassador for Zotharith, and had heard of Exetrius' hand in the victory against the Black Spire. Exetrius and his farther agreed that this could be a fantastic opportunity, thus they accepted the request. And so, within a month or two of being home again, he left for Rockwail indefinitely. From the letter, it was not fully clear what the position would entail, but that was a risk he was willing to take. Upon arrival, he met with King Yurdtroth. He was not as intimidating as he imagined, on the contrary actually. He soon learned that one of his tasks would be to teach magic at the Rockwail School of Orphans. Of all things, teaching children was somewhat daunting to him, and something he hadn't anticipated. On his first day, the stairs he had to climb to get to the oddly placed school building seemed to never end. An old wizard dressed in blue, which turned out to be the retiring Wizard of Rockwail, welcomed him. "Don't worry, it'll be fun", he said with a smirk. With the old fart's perception was nothing wrong, that much was clear... The earth sciences teacher, named Ruppert, asked him to come into the class. Still nervous, Exetrius climbed out of the study room. A little awkwardly, he introduced himself to the three kids in class. But soon, he found himself wondering why he had been worrying at all. The kids were very interested and asked him lots of questions. This wasn't so bad at all! ---- Later than planned, but here is the full build! Mine entrance part here. Figuring out the layout of this build, with the mine entrance, school and blacksmith was a fun puzzle, and I enjoyed putting my limited number of purple, magenta and pink bricks to good use. I'm also glad to be able to give an update about Exetrius. While writing the recap it became clear just how few and far between his backstory is. I don't blame you for never getting into the Exetrius Saga if you haven't. It's a mess, though it has good parts that still hold up, imo. Anway, if you read the recap, click the links and look at the images, that should give you a decent idea of Exetrius. Hope you enjoy!
  3. *** In the mystical realm of Thyndros, the Wizard of Light and the Wizard of Dark were once brothers, bound by blood and magic. Their harmony shattered when the Wizard of Dark, seduced by the whispers of an ancient evil, sought to harness forbidden spells to dominate the world. The Wizard of Light, devoted to preserving peace, opposed his brother's dark ambitions. This clash of ideals sparked a war that tore the land apart. The black dragon, Valkhoros, was summoned by the Wizard of Dark from the depths of the Abyss. With eyes that glowed like molten lava and wings that blotted out the sun, Valkhoros became the harbinger of doom, spreading fear and destruction in the name of his dark master. *** Hello, I love the dark creatures of fantasy movies and therefore I decided to design a black dragon to Bricklink Designer Program Series 6: https://www.bricklink.com/v3/designer-program/series-6/2092/Dragon-Attack It is not actually based on an existing character, I was inspired by some cool AI generated pictures and some cool dragon head builds, but I built something brand new. I wanted to create a movable animal instead of a static statue and added a small tower and two wizards to the set for more playability options. The Wizard of Light has a staff and a crystal ball. The rear of the tower is removable to make the interior space accessible, and the door works as well. I prefer the brick built solutions to keep the flexibility of the used parts in further builds, and therefore only two stickes are used for the dragon eyes and they are based on the printed part 98138pb386 which is not available in this series. Dimensions of the dragon (as it is shown on the main picture): Width: 71.0 studs / 22.4 in / 56.8 cm Length: 67.5 studs / 21.3 in / 54.0 cm Height: 44.8 studs / 14.1 in / 35.8 cm Some rotation joints can only be stable in certain positions, for example the tail end must rest on the ground. I hope you enjoy this set. Many thanks for your support and feedback! 4. This is my second MOC from a collaboration project where members are creating chess pieces. This one represents the bishop piece. However, instead of a standard bishop, I chose to create a wizard in a classic pointy hat to keep with the medieval (albeit fantasy) theme. Like the knight I designed previously, he is primarily white with yellow and blue trim for contract. I've positioned him hunched over so that he would be shorter than any future King or Queen piece while his hat makes him slightly taller than the knight if you ignore the lance. It's a bit hard to see in the images but he is holding a crystal ball with a black "King" inside. Check out my other projects on Instagram and Flickr.
  5. Hello guys, For the last month, I've been working on my Dark Wizards Tower on and off. I really want to go through with this moc but I need your help to finish it. So far I have completed the exterior of 2 sides (Not enough parts for the other 2 sides) and next I am going to be building the interior. There are 5 floors and they all come apart. I need suggestions for 4 things; 1. A Name for the Tower (If I really like it and end up using it, I will send you a free copy of the instructions when there ready :) 2. Ideas for the 4 floors of the tower (Plus the dungeon) 3. An idea for the top, something really cool. 4. Overall feedback on the exterior of the tower and things I can improve. Thanks so much for looking. I'll be updating this thread as I go along.
  6. Okay first off, this is my first Free Build, my first build for Historica period. So it might not be amazing but I don't think it's terrible. Constructive Criticism is appreciated. It features my character Dorshov the wizard, And yeah, on to the story: The wind rustled through the trees in one of the dense forests in Nocturnus. Step step clack, step step clack. The rhythmic sounds of foot steps and a walking stick echoed through the trees. An old man rounded the bend and started for the small bridge that spanned the small gorge cut by the creek that it surrounded. Ahead of him, on the opposite bank hidden behind a tree was a lone bandit. From his hiding place, he stared covetously at the large red jewel at the tip of the old mans walking stick. . As the old man stepped onto the bridge the bandit leapt out from his hiding place and charged forward! The old man (Dorshov), raised his staff and cried out a guttural word. And fire blasted from his staff, and the bandit screamed as he was consumed by fire.As the bandit crumbled to ash, Dorshov resumed his journey leaving the a mound of ash and a sword behind... finis (that's Latin for finish or end) As I said already compliments and criticism is welcome, thank you for taking the time to look at this. As requested I have added pictures of the entire build.
  7. Silvaridis, the forest wizard home was build for the Summer Joust 2022 Gradients category. I only used green colors, teal and black, white and clear for this build as was mentioned in the category for Summer Joust 2022. It was difficult managing to make a minifig with this limited colour but I really like the wizard I came up with. Silvaridis, the forest wizard home by Ids de Jong, on Flickr
  8. Welcome, Friends! I am glad to present you my new handmade work – Guldan LEGO custom minifigure. Having grown up weak and sick, the sickly orc Gul'dan, once expelled from his native clan, will return later to wipe it off the face of the earth forever. Being rejected by the Spirits of the majestic remains – the Throne of the Elements, Guldan will hear a mysterious whisper which will later change the balance not only on Draenor but also far beyond its borders. It will make Guldan the most powerful orc warlock who will receive the immense power of fel magic and almost unlimited power overall in exchange for eternal service to the forces of Darkness. LEGO does not officially produce Lego Warcraft sets. But Lego series have Orcs, Trolls, Goblins, Dwarves, Elves and other fantasy characters. And LEGO fans have a fantasy. Therefore, Lego Warcraft fans have already been making Lego Customs on Warcraft for a long time. World of Warcraft is an amazing fantasy universe which is older than a lot of its fans. «Guldan», «fel magic» – everyone knows these words, even those who do not play computer games and those who are not interested in Fantasy themes. Warcraft is the universe for all time. Many years have passed since its inception, but the fans have not gone. Warcraft, without any doubt, is one of the pillars of fantasy worlds and deserves respect. I wanted to join this world once again by creating my own Guldan LEGO custom minifigure Guldan belongs to Shamans in the Lego Custom Undead Universe. Guldan custom minifigure can be twisted from all sides – Here. 9. It had tried Majisto's patience for months, the attitude of the young wizard recently taken under the protection of the Black Knights. The new mage was constantly boasting to any tavern wench or random farm hand about how he could summon an army of demons from an unnamed void that would be stronger than any dragon the Dragon Masters could raise. Well, it was time to teach this kid a lesson--for the soul of a dragon set loose in its pure form of fire and rage is a very nasty opponent and Majisto had figured out long ago how to bind many of them to a specially enchanted lantern... My entry for the CCC XIX "Battle" category. More pics in the Album. C&C Appreciated!
  10. A new LEGO custom minifigure that I have included into my collection. I am glad to show you the Kaligula. Kaligula was the Governor of one of the Northern Lands. He did not bring anything good to his lands during his reign that was cruel – reprisals, vice and immorality. He wrote himself into the bloodiest pages of the Lego Custom Undead World. Dark Forces quickly noticed a Tyrant carried away by Dark Magic and lured him to the Dark Side. Kaligula accepted the primacy of Darkness, quickly and brutally cracked down on the new ruler who took his place and continued his atrocities in his native lands in the form of the Terrible Dark Magician. No one else wanted to fight for power any more because he knew that he would be instantly destroyed by Kaligula who fiercely did not tolerate any rivals and always crack down on with them quickly and brutally, only feeling a threat to himself. The lands lost their Governor and faith in a bright future for a long time. Kaligula became a shadow overseer of his lands and the Army of Darkness got into its ranks another strong Magician controlling the part of the territory of the Kingdom. 13. Greetings Muggles! As you may know, one of my all-time favorite themes is Harry Potter and this year marks the 20th anniversary of the theme! What I love about LEGO Harry Potter is all the many adventures you can create/recreate with Harry & friends, especially inside the iconic Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. So to celebrate 20 years of magic as part of the LEGO Ideas contest, I built a Hogwarts castle in the shape of a big number 20 comprised of 20 vignettes of the most memorable scenes from across the series with several extra creatures and characters flying around it! From the back, it just looks like a big, oddly shaped castle. I put as much detail into every room as possible. In some cases, this is hard to see because of all the figs in the scenes, so here is a shot of the interior without the characters so that you can see all the background details better. In the middle between the two "numbers" is a plaque that reads "20 Years of LEGO Harry Potter" and a boat with Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Hagrid arriving at Hogwarts for the first time, featuring the appearance that they had back when the theme premiered all those years ago. It's a very nostalgic image for me. Let's take a closer look at all the vignettes in chronological order of the events. The Great Hall at the lower end of the 2 represents the Sorting Hat scene after Harry first arrived at Hogwarts. Wingardium Leviosa! Here we have the trio's first charms class where Hermione shows the others how to perform the levitation spell correctly to Harry's amazement and Ron's frustration. Meanwhile, Nearly-headless Nick phases through a bookcase nearby and Crookshanks chases Scabbers around. This is where Hermione gets attacked by a troll in the bathroom during Halloween where she went to cry after Ron's hurtful words, but is saved by the two boys. Next is Harry's first Christmas at Hogwarts where he gets his invisibility cloak when opening his presents in the Gryffindor common room. Ron watches on in delight while munching on some every flavor beans and chocolate frogs. Here is the trio's encounter with Fluffy on their way to prevent the Philosopher's Stone from getting stolen. Qhirrell's harp stands in the back where it was just playing until a moment ago. Harry makes it to the Mirror of Erised to confront Quirrell who reveals the dark lord hiding under his turban. One of the things flying around the castle is Mr. Weasley's flying Ford Anglia which Harry and Ron used to get to the school in their second year. The design of the car is mix of all the official designs that have been released over the years. It has the tail lights, hood and wheels of the latest version, but the headlights and grill of the first one with a few minor modifications. Another extra scene is part of a Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Slytherin where Harry snatches the snitch from in front of Draco Malfoy. The first Chamber of Secrets vignette shows Hermione brewing the plolyjuice potion in the girls bathroom, much to Moaning Myrtle's dismay. Having taken the potion and turned into Crabbe and Goyle, Harry and Ron go to the Slytherin common room to find out if it was Malfoy who opened the Chamber of Secrets. Here is the Chamber of Secrets itself where Harry tries to save Ginny from Tom Riddle and the basilisk using the sword of Gryffindor. "Master has given Dobby a sock! Dobby is free!" In Harry's third year, he starts taking divination class with Prof. Trelawney. Ron tries to make sense of his tea leaves while Trelawney comes over to read Harry's. A tarot card of the lightning-struck tower ominously lays on the table before him. He also takes Defense Against the Dark Arts class with Prof. Lupin this year. Here, Lupin shows Neville how to defeat a boggart by turning it into Snape wearing his grandmother's clothes. I also included a secret bonus scene hidden in the base of the castle. If you remove one of the rocks, you can see Harry walking down the secret passageway under the school leading to Hogsmeade using the Marauders Map. In Harry's fourth year, they get visitors from other schools for the Triwizard Tournament and have a yule ball. Harry is dancing with Parvati while Ron is jealously watching Hermione "fraternizing with the enemy". If you look above the castle, you can see Harry during his first Triwizard challenge where he has to steal an egg from a dragon. After the tournament ends in tragedy, Alastair Moody reveals his true self to Harry in the privacy of his office. In Harry's fifth year, Dolores Umbridge takes over the school and forces Harry to write "I must not tell lies" using a special, cruel quill during detention in her office. In response to the ministry's meddling, Harry forms Dumbledore's Army and teaches the other students defense against the dark arts, including how to produce a patronus. Here is Harry trying to brew a potion in potions class under the watchful eye of the self-proclaimed Half-Blood Prince himself, Prof. Snape. In Harry's sixth year, Dumbledore finally clues Harry in on his plans to defeat Lord Voldemort and shows him his memories of a young Tom Riddle. Harry attends Prof. Slughorn's Slug Club meetings along with Hermione, Neville, and Ginny in order to retrieve a crucial memory from the potions teacher. Finally, here we see Harry facing off against Voldemort for the last time in what would have been Harry's seventh year at Hogwarts. There are paintings of witches and wizards lining the walls of the staircase including Newt Scamander, Seraphina Picquery, and James & Lily Potter. Meanwhile, at the bottom of the stairs, Mrs. Weasley fights Bellatrix Lestrange. "Not my daughter, you brick!" Thanks for looking through this lengthy thread. What do you think and which scene is your favorite?
  14. Lego Halloween – Custom Minifigure Welcome, friends! My new Lego Custom Minifigure – Hallow, a Sealed Mystic from my Lego Custom Undead Universe. I would say it better suits for Lego Halloween Theme. Thanks to LEGO for such a beautiful pumpkin. I used it repeatedly in my Lego customs. Lego Halloween is certainly an interesting topic for lovers of tickling their nerves – inhabitants buried under gravestones, bats, ghosts and transparent cubes. And certainly an indispensable attribute of the holiday and traditional decoration is a pumpkin lamp. Let's say «thank you» to LEGO for such a beautiful pumpkin. I used it repeatedly in my Lego custom minifigures. The holiday is firmly associated with supernatural. Rituals, horror stories, legends about ancestors, children wearing role-playing costumes with pumpkin lamps, and certainly clubs and Halloween parties for adults)) Super Holiday! The roots of the holiday go back to the tradition of the ancient Celts of Ireland and Scotland which is interesting in itself. We need to say a separate «thank you» to Halloween for Halloween's attributes that make this Holiday so atmospheric! Have a look at my Lego Halloween Custom Minifigure. I hope you will like it! The Lego Halloween custom minifigure can be twisted from all sides on my small YouTube Channel – Here. I've already customized more than 300 lego minifigures from the Lego Dark Fantesy Direction and the skeletons of the Army of Darkness. If you like my works, feel free to subscribe to follow me! 15. Hello! This is my first MOC, created a few months ago using LDD. The idea is an adventuring party has set up camp for the night, and while the members make their preparations for the journey ahead, the bard plays by the fire to entertain them. I hope to build this scene "in the brick" one day, and I know there are several things I want to change already. But what I'd love is to hear from some of the expert MOCers here on ideas to improve. Please, feel free to rip it to shreds - you can't hurt my feelings. I'm just looking for ways to improve my skills. Thanks in advance everyone! 16. Attention! Since it took me nearly a year to continue this story, recent events have overtaken me. Therefore, this story part takes place before MassEditor's prelude story that is linked below. All links are in chronological order. Make sure to (re-)read it! Glance into the future Three Ravens At the Black Knight's Inn The Resistance Unites (by MassEditor) When you ran out of coin, get out of here! the host had said. “Always the same sad business. No one treasures the value of a wise old man anymore.” Perry Ratchett mumbled into his grey beard, while he stumbled out of the Black Knight’s Inn. Aye, that old hoax of the heroic black knight defending a bridge against a king and losing all his limbs, one by one. That was a popular tale here in the East. The old wizard wondered how the people would react when they were told that this very story served as a shining example of chivalry and ideal courage in Avalonia. “I’m too late again! Foolish old dunderhead. “ Ratchett thought. He had never been an excellent wizard. Often he had proven himself not even an average wizard. But, after all, he was one. It was not a matter of the prowess as magician at all, he was just unfortunate enough to live in a wondrous world that offered as much kinds of ale, vine and liquor as it housed magical miracles. But now he was on a quest. He had witnessed what may would be and no it was on him, Peregrine Ratchett, the purple wizard, to prevent this city and its lord from ruin. He could see his course clear, the first time for years he felt the weightiness of his role in the world. He now had influence on the lifes of many. And although he was well aware of the immense threat to come, Perry silently enjoyed the feeling to be of some importance again. This wizard was back into business. As soon as he set a foot on the rough cobblestone the wizard had found for whom he was looking. Several armed men surrounded him, ensuring there would be no escape. A tall rat furred with brown and white hair approached. His look was strict and hard. But for those who were able to listen, his eyes would tell stories of grief and sorrow, deeply immured in an will of iron. The wizard recognized him immediately from his vision. “What is thy business in this town, old man?” the rat lord said. “I was told of a wizard arriving, speaking of great matters; dark menaces toward. Now all I see is a drunken vagabond, maybe hoping to be kept by my household in return for palmistry and other legerdemain. Do not dare to waste my time by trying to fool me.” The old wizard had expected mistrust. But this rat proved to be amongst that kind of stubborn beings who wouldn’t believe in dragons unless they recognised the smell of their burnt skin, or fur in such a case. He had to take care of what to say:”You may take me for a drunkard an impostor. And whilst I cannot deny my flaws I affirm you that serious wizardry is my business. I am Peregrine Ratchett. And I am called the purple wizard. And not only for the colour of my hat, I assure you. That is just frippery.” The lord of Skavenport kept his straight face, while his companions bandied inquiring gazes. A very uncomfortable silence spread and lasted far too long. Perry realised that this lord was still waiting for his explanations, either to be convinced or for having a reason to throw him into the deepest dungeon of the city; “I have come to assist you by the quest that lies ahead of you. For I have seen what may will be, and I say you there is no time to lose!” Osric Isentooth’s face became even more sceptical: “And what quest shall this be? Gathering my troops, march out with all the banners of red and gold waving in the wind? Many souls in Nocturnus call for this. No day that I do not receive requests for assistance from this lord and that village. I have no need for another supplicant to tell me about the sorrows that plague this land. I know them. Call the town watch and chase this vagabond out of my city!” The wizard rushed towards Osric:”The Lord of Shadowmere is calling for you! Will you deny his request?” The lord’s face turned angry: “You should have heard the rumours on your pub crawl. It is told in every tavern; Vladivus is dead.” Ratchett’s lips formed a grim smile: “He is alive. At least as much as his kind can be. You will see. Assemble Skavenport’s army, my lord. March out and engage the Black Spire. You are not alone. Raavage’s craft is to cloud his enemies’ awareness. The resistance is still strong. But you must unite your forces. Separating the last strongholds of the Darklands, destroying the remaining free peoples of Nocturnus one by one is the very intention of the Spire. Unite your armies, reclaim the East from Raavage, and the other guilds will join you. Because this fight is not the mere battle for Nocturnus. If you fail it will conclude the fate of all Historica. Tis the quest I have foreseen, the quest you will have to face up to.” Osric seemed to stare into an abyss, when he finally spoke: “All what you say... it either makes you an egregiously able wizard, or an equally able agent of my foes. Either way, I will learn the truth. Into the dungeon with him!” Perry felt that everything had gone wrong. While he resigned himself to a longer phase of soberness, a black hooded messenger arrived, bowed shortly before lord Osric, giving him a small piece of parchment, before heading away in a hurry. The rat lord looked at the sigil in surprise, broke it and unfurled the writing. It took him a moment to come to terms with it. Then he looked at the wizard and spoke: “Bring him to the castle. Host him in the keep, but do not let him leave it. And keep him sober.” He turned to his two captains, a rat and a grim looking sturdy human: “I have to leave the city. Lord Vladivus is indeed alive, or correctly: undead. A council will be held in Shadowmere. A council of the Resistance. I have to go.” “Alone? My lord! Every swathe of land between Shadowmere and the Grimwoods is occupied by the Spire. Damn it! Every single bloody stone in the Moruth has a Spire soldier guarding it!” the human said indignantly. “I have to go. And no time to lose. But I am well aware of the dangers such a journey involves. Therefore you will escort me, Dunstan. Why shall I fear a thousand Spire soldiers with you roaring at them?” Osric responded. Visibly amused the other captain began to speak: “I rest assured that you will make the journey without harm, my lord. My dear Sir Dunstan is no doubt the loudest man in Skavenport. But what are thy orders to me?” “You, good sir Aethelrat, will procure that an army in readiness will await our return. Gather supplies, lade war machines and keep the city’s fortifications operational.” Lord Isentooth commanded. Then he turned back towards the purple wizard: “I am still in doubt about your intentions. I will concern myself with you when I return. But for the time being I shall not call you a liar; war is to come. Allies are calling. And Skavenport shall answer.” ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________- So far, thanks for reading! And I am deeply sorry about the low photo quality. It's impossible for me to get the right lighting for such a weirdly angled build.
  17. Good so be would you if, duff plum of helping second A. Bursar (by Sir Terry Pratchett) My newest character from Discworld, Bursar the crazy wizard. The main idea here was to capture a glint of his madness with unlevel eyes. I also managed to include details from different books, like bare feet (Reaper Man), crossbow bolt (Moving Pictures) and new jar of dried frog pills (Hogfather). More on Cyclopic Bricks.
  18. Hello all! I build these vignettes as both a nod to Classic Castle of the late 80s/early 90s and the 2010 Kingdoms-theme, which features a new take on the old antagonism between the two powers. The sets of the 2010-incarnation weren't great (well, mostly!), but the minifigs were just awesome! Anyway, enough blabla. Lets have a look at the Throne-room of the Dragon Queendom: For the Dragon Knights I had a distinctive, quite archaic look in mind, which pays tribute to the often harsh and inhospitable land they live in. A clear geometry with straight lines and steep slopes to give the impression of the Queen’s throne room being made of large black stones cut into simple shapes. Quite a imposing fortress-like architecture really with inspiration from ancient Babylonian temples and the city of Windhelm from the game Skyrim, with a little bit of Saruman’s throne Room thrown in. I also decided to give it a more asymmetric layout, to make it visually more interesting and slightly unsettling. The fireplace is made from a transparent Nexo Knights minifigure-base and a light brick I got from a Prince of Persia set. It turned out looking quite naturalistic and required no fancy effects added in post-production at all! Meanwhile, at the court of the Lion King: The Lion Kingdom got a more welcoming throne room, which impresses rather by its elaborated decoration than with brutalist geometry. It is in every respect a more conventional setting, with typical medieval decorative elements and a warm colour palette and a quite symmetric layout to emphasize noble rulership, justice and stability. The striped columns are inspired by the throne room of Emperor Charlemagne in the cathedral of Aachen, as my King himself is inspired by the life of the real-life ruler.
  19. The Lecturer of Recent Runes, a member of the Senior Faculty of Unseen University, the greatest magical university in Sir Terry Pratchett's Discworld. Not very important character in the books, but I the UU wizards are my favorites, so important part of my task to build Ridcully's faculty. More on Cyclopic Bricks.
  20. I decided The Nexo Knights Volcano Lair playset needed a little something extra... I added a Skull tower with a throne and a platform for adding ingredients into a cauldron for mixing up magical mischief... Work in progress image... Best picture I could get of the throne
  21. Oswald strives to be ordinary. You think all wizard workshops are rickety and colourful? Well you are wrong there my friend. For you have obviously never meet Oswald, who is the one wizard in all the land who prefers the laws of gravity to imagination. Entry for R1 of the LCBTC. Hello everybody, its been a while. And it may seem I have been rather inactive but in truth I have been busy building things that just cannot be posted yet... I don't mind this, it's not really a wizards workshop that much. No bright colours and wonky angles (hense the name). Oh well, hopefully i will do better next round (if I get through that is :p) Hope you enjoy and C&C Needed.
  22. The Elf-Witch Cottage In the depths of the enchanted woods, where reality and fantasy meet, an elf-witch has lived since forever. Nobody knows her name or her exact age, maybe 100, maybe 1000 years, but it doesn't matter, she's part of the woods she lives in now. She's always busy with her magic potions and her studies… fascinated by nature's incredible colors and shapes, she keeps on living in her house, away from the rest of the world. I've always been fascinated by nature, by its colors, and by the fantasy universe. In this project I tried to put it all together, using unusual parts and colors that I'd underestimated before. I'm very satisfied with the result. 23. It is very hard to catch a wizard. Especially when he is in the levitating hut. And the stairs leading to it are hang in the air. 24. Wizard's House Adventurer wizard just received salary for last dangerous quest and bought new house. He doesn't know that there is a one extra floor in this property. Merchant told him only about living room with entresol, nothing more. He took the money and went away laughting. New adventure is closer than our hero thinks. The question is, what about old dweller from dungeon, which is hidden in the dark? All set is modular, so there are a lot of possibilites to use. For example living room and roof, or you can change the basement to something else, maybe treasury or laboratory? What do you think? There is a hidden door to the lowest level, hiding in the rock. Enjoy! :) Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr Wizard's House by Ryszard Bosiak, on Flickr
  25. Here's my newest Discworld build, bust of current Archchancellor of Unseen Univeristy, Mustrum Ridcully. I've built the character in normal scale couple of times, and this bust project is rather old too - it began in autumn 2016 and was on top of a self for over two years... But when I moved recently, I decided to finally finish it, as it looked quite promising. Here's the results. I'm particularly pleased with the facial features and the expression. The beard is bit plain, but it was a conscious choice to reduce the visual noice on the model - it's a large creation, after all. As on the reference books, the hat as couple of drawers to hold fishing hooks and stuff, and there are few hand-tied lure flies stuck to it. More photos and stuff on Cyclopic Bricks.
