legoman19892 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Is this the same deal as in The Colbert Report? Is it pronounced Glore Core, glorp core, or glorp corp? Quote
Asphalt Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 The colbert report thing started as a big joke. But I can't help you with the Glorp Corp. I am not familiar with the reference. Quote

TheBrickPal Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Glorp Corp is probably short for Glorp Corperation, or even Glorperation Corperation. I'm surprised that no one else has realized this. Quote
Bigger Fish Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Glorperation Corporation is an awesome name. Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) I think that the P isn't silent, but it is rushed through. The P in Corp, though, I do believe to be silent. "Puts on Canon Master cap" In regards to what it stands for, or how it's pronounced we don't actually know. There are two possible options. One, that it's short for Corporation. Two, that it isn't short for anything. Corp can be a term for a body of military, or a general catch-all for a "group" of people. My thoughts on both: One: The tribal structure shown as existing on the Mixel world does not give a very good opportunity for corporations to be formed, and if any tribe has become organized enough for that, it would probably be the Electroids, not the swamp-based Glorp Corp**. Two: This is the one I'm leaning on, as it fits both in with LEGO's naming strategy, and with point One taken into context. *Unlike the planets for Chima or Ninjago. **The most organized group is actually the Nixels, under Major Nixel. Lordofdragonss Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 For me it was easy: Glorp Corp means Glorp Corporation, and the "Glorp" is the greenish ooze they all "produce" in large quanities! Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 For me it was easy: Glorp Corp means Glorp Corporation, and the "Glorp" is the greenish ooze they all "produce" in large quanities! Um...according to canon...the ooze is actually(if you don't want to be grossed out, don't click the spoilers): The ooze that they're oozing is actually, depending on the case, some sort of mouth slime or...mucus . Literally. As in, canon. Check out this official picture: http://img1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140819150829/mixels/images/1/17/Cartoon_Glorp_Corp_Max.PNG Yeah. Not exactly the sort of thing you associate with brightly colored plastic. So, there you have it. Have a complementary glass of Brain Bleach. Quote
Lyichir Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 The P in "Corp" is pretty much never silent. You might be confusing it with the P-S in "Corps". But any way, since that P isn't silent I can't imagine the one in "Glorp" would be. Quote
