robuko Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 A family of Panda refugees from Nocturnus take time to celebrate the beauty of the mid Autumn moon. They may have lost their homes and possessions in the conflict, but they still have each other. (Apologies for the image quality, no PC access. Good news is, my bricks are unpacked now) Quote
Gunman Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Nice background and cute scene Robuko :) hehe Quote
Gideon Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Very cute build! Not what I would typically associate Mitgardia with, but I like that the greener season there gets shown as well! Great to hear that your bricks are unpacked Quote
IenjoyLego89 Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Nice scene :) really like the backdrop :) Quote
mccoyed Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Adorable. I hope all these Nocties find safety in Mitgardia! Quote
TheRedViper Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 The backdrop is ace, really finished the scene off nicely! Quote
Thomas of Tortuga Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 It's so sweet... and so ridiculously you. Quote
MassEditor Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Haha, nice little scene Rob and another good glimpse into the tragedies which even the little people of Nocturnus suffer! Though, I didn't know there were so many pandas in Nocturnus... Also glad you found all your bricks again! Quote
Hammerhand Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Lovely little scene, the background is perfectly executed! If you did a black background for photographing, it would be hard to tell that the lego background was even lego! Quote
Scaevola Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Very nice moc, great forced perspective  Quote
Yzalirk Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Nice little build and interesting use of those non-minifig figs... Though I still don't understand the fascination with pandas as of recently. Quote
de Gothia Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Lovely little moc! Those pandas are really cute! From which set is the middle sized panda from? Quote
TheLegoDr Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I'm guessing it is a Friends animal. Probably in the polybag series. Quote
Jorrith Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 There's only one thing wrong with this scene... Such cute animals can't possibly come from nocturnus, right? Awesome little scene! Quote
NiceMarmot Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Very nice! I've got to get some pandas. We just had my son's school's Moon Festival, and all the kids ate all the the mooncakes -- I didn't get any BTW, where's Historica's second moon? Quote
Duvors Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 BTW, where's Historica's second moon? What? When was it decided that Historica had two moons? This is a lovely build, the backdrop is wonderful to look at, I'm just wondering what the result of such an influx of Nocturnian cultural influences is going to have on Mitguardian society. robuko Posted September 10, 2014 Author Posted September 10, 2014 Nice background and cute scene Robuko :) hehe Thanks Gunman. It's good to have some happy builds! Very cute build! Not what I would typically associate Mitgardia with, but I like that the greener season there gets shown as well! Great to hear that your bricks are unpacked Thanks Gideon. Mitgardia seems mainly granite, these are some limestone formations. As you know, the North countries are beautiful and green in summer. Nice scene :) really like the backdrop :) Thanks IEL. I have to share background credit with my 4 year old son. Although he wanted it to be lilac... Excellent background. Thanks vitroleum. I think the dark green on the distant hills came out too dark against the black, and it's very hard to see the dark blue and trans dark blue, I'm having a lot of trouble with lighting at the moment. Adorable. I hope all these Nocties find safety in Mitgardia! Me too mccoyed but I fear they are going out of the getting pan and into the fire/ The backdrop is ace, really finished the scene off nicely! Thanks RedViper. The backdrop was the first thing we thought of, our mid autumn moon really did look like that here. It's so sweet... and so ridiculously you. Thanks Thomas. No this is a huge stylistic break for me, it's got some grey in it. although yes I do try to build one MOC a year celebrating our local festivals. I made dragon boat races and a lion dance before. Haha, nice little scene Rob and another good glimpse into the tragedies which even the little people of Nocturnus suffer! Though, I didn't know there were so many pandas in Nocturnus... Also glad you found all your bricks again! Thanks ME. The displacement of the were crocodiles, reptrians, shoggoths and undead have disturbed the pandas from their mountain lairs. Lovely little scene, the background is perfectly executed! If you did a black background for photographing, it would be hard to tell that the lego background was even lego! Great idea Hammerhand, I'll give it a go! Very nice moc, great forced perspective  Thanks for your kind words Scaevola. It's a very simple attempt and I'm a bit disappointed with the far off peaks, but I'm glad you like it. Nice little build and interesting use of those non-minifig figs... Though I still don't understand the fascination with pandas as of recently. Thanks Behemoth. We have gone from zero to 3 panda moulds this year so I guess it's natural to see builders experiment. And I wanted it to feel Chinese as it's the Chinese moon cake festival. Lovely little moc! Those pandas are really cute! From which set is the middle sized panda from? I'm guessing it is a Friends animal. Probably in the polybag series. Thanks deg, yes the good Dr has it right. Series 6 panda, which comes with a notable tan 4l bar, parts fans. There's only one thing wrong with this scene... Such cute animals can't possibly come from nocturnus, right? Awesome little scene! Ha ha thanks Jorrith. Yeah, I thought the pandas were established as a Nocturnus tribe by prior builds, could be wrong on that. Awesome! Thanks Kayne, glad you like it. Very nice! I've got to get some pandas. We just had my son's school's Moon Festival, and all the kids ate all the the mooncakes -- I didn't get any BTW, where's Historica's second moon? Cue hyper hyper active children who all just had 2000 calories in one meal! From the unnaturally bright foreground I would say just above and behind the viewer What? When was it decided that Historica had two moons? This is a lovely build, the backdrop is wonderful to look at, I'm just wondering what the result of such an influx of Nocturnian cultural influences is going to have on Mitguardian society. Thanks Lord Duvors. My learned friend the master cartographer is correct, this was established in book 1. All these Nocturnus folk can only mean one thing.... Total all out civil war! Quote
NiceMarmot Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 What? When was it decided that Historica had two moons? A long time ago Quote
Bregir Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 When it turns out these Pandas are really ravenous predators longing to set their long sharp teeth into dwarven necks, Mitgardia will regret the lacklustre bordercontrols! http://pandaontour.blogspot.dk/2007/11/watch-out-koalas.html Funny little build - and I never realised there were so many sizes of Lego Pandas! The brickbuilt background is brilliant! Quote
BrickCurve Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I didn't know they had pandas in Mitgardia, or Nocturnus for that matter. Quote
cesbrick Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Funny build, great background and I'm amazed how those pandas manage to survive in the cold Mitgardia. Quote
Duvors Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Funny build, great background and I'm amazed how those pandas manage to survive in the cold Mitgardia. Pandas live in some of the coldest parts of the Chinese mountains, Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Quote
