selfshot Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) Hey folks, Here's my first motorized Hot Rod moc. It's driven by one XL and steering is handled by an M motor. Lights are kind of useless to be honest as it's quite too fragile to drive in dark in my already crowded living room :p But hey, details are details! Here are some of the shots, you can find rest of the pictures on my Flickr profile; I'll record a video and upload/post it as soon as i get my hands on a Gopro or any camera better than my iPhone 4S. Thanks! Edited September 9, 2014 by selfshot Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Its looks lovely! Do you have an under picture? Quote
selfshot Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 Thanks Zblj! I've added the under picture. Quote
Foggy Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Woww, bad @$$ car! r really like the shape andover all aspect, i don't like the grey of the motor and maybe i would have covered the battery box with black panels, and maybe the front grill has too much black, maybe a bit of red.. but just my personal taste, you did an amazing job! Well done!l Quote
selfshot Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 (edited) Honestly, the grey on the engine should be chromed, i don't have any chrome parts. However, i tried painting those grey pieces with metallic silver model paint, brush marks annoyed me a lot, so i left it as it is. Additionally the exhaust pipes on the fake engine could be chromed too, again the same method of painting them didn't work. I also ended up having not enough black tiles to cover the top of the battery box :) it also already got quite heavy for one XL motor to drive it, lost quite a bit speed with how it currently is. I totally agree with the grill. Red 2x1 grill pieces covering the bottom half of the grill might have looked more blended in, yet i don't have red grill pieces :) I worked on this for almost about 2 months on and off. I got to the point of abandoning it a few times, so i didn't order and wait for any specific parts. I just found myself wanting to complete it as it is. Thanks for your support and constructive feed back everyone. Edited September 9, 2014 by selfshot Quote
BusterHaus Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I like this. For colour changes, there's always Photoshop. Quote
AndyCW Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 These new tires are screaming for this kind of stuff. I might have worked on putting MT figures inside the car or at least posed them with it. Mine have been sitting in a plastic box since I was a kid. ~20 years or so. v/r Andy Quote
selfshot Posted September 10, 2014 Author Posted September 10, 2014 Thanks everyone, i don't have MT figures, in fact i've never had model team sets :) Quote
