There appears to be a problem with the second screenshot in the torso tutorial.

It says: Image does not exist.

Edit: Now it seems to work again... weird...

Ah, yes. Having read your post, I quickly fixed it.

Do you print the torso's on paper and gleu them on, or do you print it on sticker paper?

I remember printing it on sticker paper, and they where hard to get off, i still have pieces with 15 year old remains of sticker paper on them...

This tutorial has been really helpful to me in starting to make decals, even though none of them are yet good enough for much show ;-)

How about a tutorial for people who have photoshop, but not much of an idea of how to use it to make decals? Like... me...

Just a thought, might be helpful to others, too.

Thank you very much for that tutorial, Mosana! :sweet:

Nevertheless I've got a question:

From where can I get a "flan" for a torso (meaning a virtual artwork with the right size) to design a new torso? Does someone have something like this and can PM it to me? - That would be very nice. :sweet:

But how do you get the torsos for the minifigures/? Do you print them out as stickers or something like that?

Yes, or find someone who has an ALPS printer and can print waterslides.

Can someone PLEASE give me a link to MS Paint ?

MS Paint is included in Windows, I think you can find an on-line version here (sorry, page in Italian only), but it appears to be for FireFox only. For more information, I can give you a link to this.

Hope it helps.

Hi, Eased

If you are looking into making your own decals then There are better programs then ms paint for it and there free :classic: . I myself like to use inkscape but there are many more to chose from.

clonekiller

thank you for the wonderful idea! i'm very low on soldiers now, so i could use my 200 other random dudes and make them part of my army! :classic:

how do i change the DPI in MS paint? if anyone can tell me that would be great :classic:

Sorry, I just checked but couldn't find a way. I don't want to tell you it is not possible; probably it's just that I don't have much familiarity with MS Paint. Maybe someone more expert with the program can help you :classic:

And if you want the decals to look glossy/shiny you can get some clear packaging tape and put that on the decals. :classic:

Is that really thick? Wouldn't want it to make the torso much thicker than normal.

YA how do you scale and stick these on figures?? Do you print them on some sort of paper that has stick and peel, to allow for adehsion to a lego man? thanks

Hi there, piratemark, welcome to Eurobricks!

You can find an useful Tutorial on How to print decals with MS Word here.

For decal paper resources (especially waterslide) look here.

And here are a few tips on decals' application.

You may want to check also the other tutorials, tools and indexes in the Minifig Customisation Index.

Hope these help you :classic:

LuxorV

A very good tutorial.

Every PC user is familiar with Paint and won't have to

buy professional software's to make these custom

torsos!
