andyscouse Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Here is my latest MOC, and it's a first for me: a real-life building! This is the Old Post Office building in White River Junction, VT. It is now, rather interestingly, the Centre for Comic Studies. I built it for a show NELUG did in White River Junction this last weekend (Sep 13). One other member also built the old White River Junction Train Station, so it was nice to have two "real world" buildings out there. Enjoy! Here is the original: Quote
mapimi Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Cool replica of the real thing. I remember waiting hours overnight at the white river jct greyhound gas station, cool to know I'm not the only one that has been there :) Sadly my family has left Vermont recently, so probably won't be going back anytime soon. Hope the show was fun! Nice build again! Quote
andyscouse Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 Thank you! Yes, the show was excellent. Part of their annual "Glory Days of the Railroad" festival. They'd been wanting NELUG to exhibit there for some time ... and we were able to do it this year. Quote
TWO2SEVEN Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 That is a really good replica. I have one that I am working on two of a building that I pass on my way home everyday. Quote
lightningtiger Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Very nice work there 'andyscouse', any interior ? Looks like Luke picked up the package containing a new lightsaber ! Brick On 'andyscouse' ! Quote
tomdobs55 Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Like I said on Saturday, great job Andy! Good to see you posting here again! Quote
Kayaderosseras Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Very nice replica -- I like the two shades of red brick.. BTW, I've passed through White River Junction, but I don't remember anything but the name. Quote
CityBuilder Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Nice, it resembles the original very well! Quote
andyscouse Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 Thank you all for your kind comments! Tom, it was great tho see you and the kids - glad you enjoyed it! Coming out to Amherst in January? Kay, yes, the two distinct colours are subtle, but are there in the original. @lightningtiger. No interior (yet) . The crafting of the windows may make it difficult. We shall see ... Quote
andyscouse Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 Indeed, Tom -- glad you made it up! I also posted this on MOCPages -- http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/397056 Quote
