rodiziorobs Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I never got into Bionicle, but I'd be willing to give it a try this time around. The real question now is: what is the rumored NYCC reveal going to be? Quote
Sir_Basil_Ashton Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I was hoping for something huge. Oh well. Quote

Peppermint_M Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I am pleased, I will get another Pohatu and rebuild my other two. My little brother, inheritor of my younger brother's Bionicle, is most impressed. Quote
Lyichir Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 It's BIONICLE too. Are we sure? We know that Lego is presenting more information about Bionicle at NYCC but we don't know that that's the only thing that will be revealed. Lego's panel (or panels?) haven't been added to the NYCC schedule yet, so it's hard to tell the extent of what they'll be presenting. Quote

Or maybe I missed the official announcement of that one allready :) Nope, still no official announcement of Elves. Personally, if Lego announces a theme other than Bionicle at NYCC I'm hoping it's Elves—the pictures we've seen so far look incredible and I'm itching for more information. Quote
cgarison Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 I was hoping for Dr. Who for NYCC, but the chatter on the webs indicates this will not be happening. Best bet, NYCC will be Bionicle. Quote

I think even NYCC might be a little early for the results of the latest Ideas review. And of course, Ideas review results have never been announced at a con before—the Ghostbusters set was revealed at SDCC this year, but that was well after the project itself had been announced to have passed review. I wouldn't count the Doctor Who projects out just yet, but I also wouldn't expect their success to be announced until after NYCC has come and gone. Quote
PaddyBricksplitter Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Hmmmm. Test cards. That suggests, TV or a movie. I hope it's actually new Lego sets and not a media project. Quote
Aanchir Posted September 25, 2014 Posted September 25, 2014 Hmmmm. Test cards. That suggests, TV or a movie. I hope it's actually new Lego sets and not a media project. The announcement has already been made that it's the new BIONICLE theme for 2015, but so far all we've gotten is some teasers that don't specifically refer to sets or media. You can see most of what's been revealed on the new LEGO Bionicle Facebook page. There's also supposed to be something new on that page this Friday, and then more info about the theme at New York Comic Con next month. Quote
andibandit Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 I always tend to sort bionicle lego out of my collection...thats how much i dislike that series. Quote
Lyichir Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 (edited) I always tend to sort bionicle lego out of my collection...thats how much i dislike that series. Even as a Bionicle fan I recognize the merits of a well-sorted collection—I keep most of my Bionicle parts separate from my ordinary parts so that when I'm trying to find regular Lego I don't have to dig through my huge collection of Bionicle parts, and vice-versa. However I doubt that was the point you were trying to make. So to address your larger point... it doesn't matter that you don't like Bionicle. This news isn't about you, in that case, and not all Lego news needs to be. This announcement (and the subsequent teasers) have been a great gift to the Bionicle fan community, which has gone a long time without news of this magnitude. So I don't see why fans of other themes can't let us just have our day in the sun. Edited September 27, 2014 by Lyichir Quote

rodiziorobs Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 exactly what ive been thinking about this whole thing. over the course of these last few days, ive lost almost all respect ive had for the System community. I wouldn't say I've lost all respect, but it is tiresome when people complain about themes that they don't like, like Bionicle, or Friends, or especially the Elves line to be released next year. So some people don't like them and will never buy them--so what? LEGO doesn't care, because it knows it will find other ways to get their money. These other themes are designed to get other people's money. Everybody wins. Quote
jfbat Posted October 3, 2014 Posted October 3, 2014 over the course of these last few days, ive lost almost all respect ive had for the System community. Ah well, we'll just continu playing with real lego then! Seriously: come on, that kind of us-them thinking is a bit, well, stupid. About as stupid as someone hating Bionicle and still having some in their collection. Quote

About as stupid as someone hating Bionicle and still having some in their collection. thing is, without technic and constraction, i'd have zero interest in Lego. and seeing the theme i love get crapped on by a bunch of system elitists, really kills the little respect i had for them. :U Quote
jfbat Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 Hmm, maybe you should think about the "little respect I had for them" thing a bit more before being bummed about someone else expressing little interest in a theme you like. Quote
Kingriedak Posted October 5, 2014 Posted October 5, 2014 I had enough respect not to go about disrespecting System lines and its fans when a System announcement came up. the same cant really be said for alot of System fans ive seen openly antagonizing the constraction fanbase. Quote
