ZCerberus Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 (edited) So I was thinking of reorganizing my Brickshelf folder when I found myself thinking about how I always seem to want to revisit a MOC and retool it. I thought I would share my own "MOC Evolutions" and then encourage anyone else who had a MOC go from one thing to a totally revamped and much better version to share here as well! Fort Brighton The Covenant The Sienna The Arbiter II On a couple of ships you can see it took a revolution before there was any evolution... but even the difference between the second and final design of the Covenant and the Arbiter II is quite striking! Does any one else have any MOC evolutions to share? Edited June 21, 2007 by ZCerberus Quote
simonwillems Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Nice thread *y* I do have one example of an MOC-evolution to show you, but I often find myself changing and modifying the things I create. I made a motorcycle once, and later modified it, using the same chassis, to make a completely different police design. (Thumbnails clickable) From this Brickshelf to this Brickshelf Quote
oo7 Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 As always, your creations are phenomenal. I wish I had that many bricks! :-D I've initiated some evolution myself as well. Quote
ZCerberus Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 From this Brickshelf to this Brickshelf Very nice. From the first thumbs they didn't look all that similar, but once I clicked them and took a look, they were definitely similar with the exceptions of the colors and the upgrades! I've initiated some evolution myself as well. Nice. The third one definitely has some excellent upgrades!! Quote
Dreamweb Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 My favourite "evolved" MOC is the HMS Progress, I even left pictures of the previous versions in the brickshelf gallery. First version (sorry, I didn't have a good camera back then): Later version: Final version: Quote
Norrington Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 (edited) Well, Fort Victoria was re-done in a massive re-vitalization process iniated by King George XIIZ of LegoLand. The original, weaker sea-side fortifactation (The old Sabre is there to, which was also revamped, but never got pictures taken. This ship is currently in planning to be rebuilt.): The revamped, much stronger fortress: The newer fortress, witch features Eldorado Fortress fastened in the middle as a keep, needs pictures taken but is nearly the same as the revamped version. Sorry for the huge pictures. I'll resize them later. EDIT Mr Tiber: Resized the pictures for you. Edited June 21, 2007 by Mr Tiber Quote
El Bucanero Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 The Red Peril! From sloop: To schooner: The HMS Unpredictable! From... this: To light frigate: Mr Tiber Quote
simonwillems Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 (edited) All very impressive modifications to those fine models! The great thing about our beloved toy: you can make something new everyday and keep modifying it until it's perfect. After buying the new city police-motorcycle (to stick with motorcycles right now..) I made a timeline of policebikes through the years. From the seventies upto now, behold: (Sorry for the large pic, I couldn't get it resized and there is lots to see...) Bigger picture The origin of Motorcycles Brickshelf EDIT Mr Tiber: I resized the pic for you, but because you said there's lots to see, I left a link to the bigger picture. ;-) Edited June 21, 2007 by Mr Tiber Quote
ZCerberus Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 The Red Peril! From sloop: To schooner: The HMS Unpredictable! From... this: To light frigate: Mr Tiber These are both excellent examples! I love the schooner! First version (sorry, I didn't have a good camera back then): Final version: It is even appropriately named! Very nice! I think Fortress revamps often show the biggest changes. That is quite a nice upgrade! Quote

Governor Mister Phes Posted July 4, 2007 Governor Posted July 4, 2007 Too bad I never got round to building the second version of the Imperial Sentry Box so I could post both versions in this thread. But here's one I did build both version of... My old camera was horrible! The new version isn't much of an improvement though. Quote
Patriot720 Posted February 7, 2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Wow what a cool idea for a thread! Unfortunately, I have nothing to share Quote
ZCerberus Posted February 8, 2009 Author Posted February 8, 2009 How about the HMS Unclaimable. From light frigate-ey thing: To 4th rate ship of the line: And I can tell you it is going to evolve even more! Very Nice indeed! Any progress on that MOC? Quote
Captain Blackmoor Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Those are some remarkeble evolutions I must say. When my La Formidable is finished I'll post some "evolutions" as well. Quote
ZCerberus Posted February 10, 2009 Author Posted February 10, 2009 Well, if negative progress counts, then yes. I see-- well though I am not entirely sure what that means- it certainly looked like it was progressing well! Quote
Guss Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Excellent work! I love your fort and your ships, the Arbiter II is awesome! I love it! Quote
