I am planning to build 8041, but spotted something unusual: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=8041-1

The part list says it uses 4 of part # 73335 in red: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=75535

This is an old part and wasnt used in a few years, the pin connector was replaced with the modern #62462.

Does anyone have the set and could they please check part 75535 is in fact used in this set?

There's lots of errors in Bricklink inventories, especially related to multiple versions of the same part. If you are member, you can send an error report to them when you find these things.

Actually, an early revision of this set was released with the non-slotted version. See the alternate parts section. I'd say BrickLink is correct here.

Maybe, but the slotted pin joiner came out years before 8041, so it is unlikely even early versions of 8041 ever had the old joiner.

Non-slotted pin joiners were still being used in 2008 sets, so it's not that big a stretch. TLG often depletes existing stock first before switching entirely to a new mold.
