Considering the recent rise in moc ships I was wondering if the EB pirate fans were going to organize some kind of fleet? Something like getting all the captains together and organizing a fleet. Then they could decide who has the ranks. I guess it's a tie army like thing. Anyways iwas just wondering if something like that was going to happen.

I doubt it. :-| After all, there has NOT been a rise in MOC ships, infact the only rise has been in torso designs, and the locations of our members would be incredibly problimatic.

I propose a meeting at my house, next weekend. (Not this weekend, too late notice.) All attendees must bring me 1 (one) new Mars Mission or Castle set.

hahahahaha .... HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

If it's locations ppl need to claim then i get La-la Land :-D

It's next to Happy Place and Cloud 9.

On a more serious note,

Zouave, what type of ranking were you thinking of?

He who has the most ships, wins has the highest rank type of thing?

I think there is some kind of TIE army forum over in the Theater section that must do something like this.

I would imagine it would be like that so no ACTUAL meeting is necessary. We could make fleets/battle groups for themes, or maybe even locations/continents and then decide what is the flagship of the fleets and what kind of ranks each captain has.

It is an interesting, if impractical idea. I am not sure how one does such a thing, but it still sounds interesting.

But (while more likely) this interpretation isn't as funny and it leave me with no chance to recieve free Lego from EB members.

It would be a good idea, but hard to organize, since a lot of us are from different parts of the world. It would be cool to see tons of ships in one spot, though.

I don't think you got what I mean't.This something that would be on just EB.Everyone who wants to register thier ship in the fleet says so.Then chosen officials will gather pics of the ships and put them in one topic.

Maybe, zouave, we need you to tell us how this is going to work!

Are we going to make up fleets/ battle groups based on voluntary associates or fictional factions? Or are we going to do it by continent or country, such as one fleet would be the "North American Fleet" and another would be the "European Battle Group"?

How do we chose ranks or admirals or captains? Do we have volunteers? Or do we choose amongst ourselves after the fleets have been made? Or maybe it is automatic based on whoever has the largest number of ships or guns...

What about Land based MOCs? Are they included in our fleets/assets?

What about uncompleted MOCs? Are they to be not included?

Give us some idea of what we are doing since this is your thread!

Replying to my own quote... well I had an idea that I thought I would share...

What if we made these imaginary fleets via a draft...

Let me explain...

1. We would say that there are going to be 4 fleets or whatever, and then everyone who wants to participate will have say so in a thread, or this one.

2. 4 "Admirals" will be selected by random lot. The order they are picked will be the order of the "draft".

3. The first admiral will pick any other participating member to be in his "fleet". Then the next Admiral will pick and so on. We could do every other round in reverse order so the fourth admiral will pick fourth and fifth and the first admiral would pick first and eight.

-If we are uncomfortable with an actual "draft" like this (though it could be fun) we can just continue to draw lots placing every forth person in the same fleet. So lot 1,5,9,13,17 etc would be in one fleet and 2,6,10,14,18 would be in another.

4. We can then allow each fleet to pick a name for itself and design a flag or a logo with a back story of their fleet with any/every member participating at will. The common story/world and cool flag/logo would be the main benefits, so it would be wise of each admiral to not necessarily pick members with lots of MOCs, but also creative members who can design logos/flags, and write interesting back stories!

5. We may even, with Phes's approval, be able to make a small webpage for each Fleet on the Classic-Pirates.com website with the logo/flag of the fleet, their back-story, and a listing of the fleets members with a link to their ships. We could, if desired, have each member even add their fleet's flag to their signatures or add the flags on their ships. Letters of Marque or Rogue Imperial ships can account for the difference in LEGO® factions.

6. This idea would require that EVERYONE who wants to participate gets to participate. Even if you have only a single MOC that you want to "add" to a fleet, you can do so, regardless of if it is a ship, fortress or custom torso!

7. There would be absolutely NO degrading of other fleets and no challenging other fleets to WARS or FIGHTS with other fleets. The fleets need not ever interact with each other, they could exist in wholly inconsistent lands and time periods. The idea would be not only would each MOC builder have a natural support group for displaying MOCs, but the fleet listing could have cool common themes in some of the MOCs that we will all begin to recognize, such as flags on ships, and shared characters in different MOCs. Like Phred, for example, has had multiple people's "Characters" on the DDW. Within a fleet, then, a common admiral character might show up for inspections and visit to launch new MOC ships or commission new fort!

What does anyone/everyone think?

What does anyone/everyone think?

That this is to much like dodgeball at school X-D

I think it should be like the Tie Army, even though it is unoriginal. My theory, borrowing heavily from the Tie Army.

Two leaders will be chosen, one for each of the teams. The teams and ranks are:

British forces .

---------------

King of England

Lord Admiral

Admiral

Commodore

Captain (Privateer is an equivilent)

Leutenient

Private

British East India Co

-----------------------

Leader of the Board

Lord Chairman

Chairman

Captain (Privateer is the equivilent)

Leutenient

Ordinary seamen

Pirates

-------------

King of the Pirates

Lord Pirate

Captain

QaurterMaster

Midshipman

Ordinary seamen

The rules are like that of the Tie army. The teams form in a seperate thread, and then the thread is closed. Then in 3 seperate threads, members of each team can put forth their name, and have a poll where elections are held. The thread is closed in X amount of days and then the winner in the poll is leader of the team. The first runner up has the option of receiving the second in command , though this rule would probably be phased out, due to various reasons... There may be multiples of every rank at one time except for leader ranks (Kings, Leader of Boards, King of the Pirates...)

As in:

XXXX, PPPP, and QQQQ run for King of England. OOOO, FFFF, and JJJJ run for Leader of the board. GGGG, RRRR, and TTTT run for the Pirate King. The thread closes, and PPPP is King of Enlgand, OOOO is Leader of the Board, and TTTT is Pirate King.

Optinal:

XXXX, as runnner up, decides to accept the position of Lord Admiral. JJJJ rejects the title of Chairman, and RRRR rejects the title of Lord Pirate.

Or something like that...

It would probably be easier if there were only two "sides" of the whole thing, but still have 4(ish) fleets.

Cause after all, there are allies.

The french , spanish, and their privateers versus the british, (don't know who their allies are 8-| ), and british privateers.

What do ya think?

Then the french and spanish could talk to each other etc.

I'm for it, but I have only two suitible ships, with one of them being a tweaked Viking longboat...

If it's a ship and has a crew it can join. Don't worry about your ship.Mine are just about the same.

Thats what I was thinking. The British EIC and Navy would be allies, and the pirates would be allies with... someone... 8-| I have a more detailed explanation in another thread, me thinks. I'll find it and post it here...

I'll put up my two ships. (which I should post someday :-|| ) They're small one cannon ships.

They are about the size of renegade runner. The sides have been evened up and I put a deck and sails onto it.
